I really don’t see the point : this looks EXACTLY like the animated movie. The dragons look great, but they look just like their animated counterparts. It’s just like the original but with more textures. There’s no point outside of money.

We could've gotten an entirely new dragon story, either in the HTTYD universe or something else but no hollywood insists on these soulless shot for shot remakes of a far superior movies to bait with nostalgia. Actually not making it and saying “screw remakes, the original is a freaking masterpiece as it is and we’re proud of it” would’ve been a better gotcha for Disney.
Looks promising, but it’s doomed if the story’s exactly the same! We already know how it unfolds as animation and it’s perfect there. Repeating that in live action, trying to mimic the original, will just turn into a hollow imitation.
I feel like that’s kinda a good thing in my eyes. The fact they’re going for genuine accuracy and not just. Complete alteration like Disney had done at times It shows earnestness tbh
