If they are getting rid of dealerships don't think that this will bring prices down. These companies are greedy for that markup. They want to be the ones sucking up that money from us.
Excellent news! Finally Toyota, GM, and Ford come to their senses! It's good news for consumers that we can save from the dealer system that hounds us with charging over list prices!
There could be a real benefit in one area. Let's say a manufacturer over produced or has a slow selling model. If a consumer was willing to buy one of these than they probably would get a good discount over and above the normal price or some incentives like free upgrades or free service. Dealers have stolen from us for all our lives. I will not shed a tear when their gone. Car makers can partner with repair facilities that have the equipment and meet their standards. If the car makers guarantee the repairs, what would be the problem. Indpenedent mechanics will have a great opportunity to build a loyal customer base.
The last 12 cars (30+ years) have been dealer purchases and I've never been happy with ANY of them. I pay for services up front and simple questions "How do I unlock electronically locked doors?" or "How do I adjust rear cameras?" has had THEM trying to sign me into repair 'adventures'. "I'm asking HOW and they want money to answer." To heck with 'em...
I am all for it. Dealerships probably saw this coming given the business model Tesla. I was on its website checking out it's buying process. Pretty cool.
Would love this! Save a few thousand dollars when buying a new car. Instead if getting a base model now I can upgrade with options instead of paying dealer fees.
That’s a good thing no more (Dealer) markup and they should also make it so you can finance straight from the dealership without having to use a outside bank that would maximize the profits and ensure they get a return
I buy a new car every three years and I like talking to someone at a dealership having a coffee going for a test drive making sure the seats are comfortable and that there are no marks or scratches on the car you can't do that online
Does anyone really think they won’t establish extra charges . Will be no difference in prices. What about trade ins? I’m sure you can’t haggle with them
all in all this will not decrease the actual cost to the buyers. the m.s.r.p. will remain the same if not it will increase. the only real winners will be the stockholders of course. how about what it will cost to buy out the value of the dealers franchises. what about service? new car prep. dealer installed options. parts. collision. f & I. anti trust?
If they continue to make crummy products at high prices this will not make a difference. Dealerships already make most of their money from service much of it warranty and recall because of poor manufacturing.
Yea I hear you. All the car manufacturers problems are the dealers. Get rid of the dealers and their problems will go away and the CEO’s can make their millions of dollars a year and have no problems 😂😂😂. Maybe the dealers should start manufacturing vehicles
Bottom line. If it results in thousands of dollars off a final purchase why not. Nit going to know until we have a direct sales to nane brand manufactures.
This will be an disaster for the consumer. Open those wallets, The car maker will save and make more money, but I guarantee you the cost of everything is going to skyrocket
From $6K to $73K that's the minimum range of profit return every week I thinks it's not a bad one for me, now I have enough to pay bills and take care of my family.
Fix it yourself!!!!!buy tools crawl under car change transmission rebuild engine and drive imagine no one to cuss out or be disappointed in ever again or ask Computer to fix it for you everything on line just lay iPhone on broken part overnight boom it’s fixed mount your own tires it will be fun current there are 600,000 service teck jobs open the damn work is too hard !! And complicated be free and always take tennis shoes with you if you have to walk home 😂😂
Good bye middle class jobs. You bought a lemon when you voted traitor trump. Following the Elon Musk model! Robots will completely replace the workers on the line.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Our records indicate you have already driven this week. To start your car, deposit $2000. For an additional charge of $500, you may visit our free car wash. Press 2 for a list of other free options, or press 1 to make a payment now." Obviously, the price of cars shall plummet! LOL
It's a good concept, but many buyers won't qualify for financing through online purchases. Also, who's going to repair the vehicle? No, having a dealership is a better option.

It’s about time they got rid of them. It’s horrible going over there and getting ripped off especially these days.
Thats what happens when car dealerships get to greedy
It is about time they did this. Independent shops can do the recalls and get reimbursed by the car companies.
Yes, what about the after-sales service & repair issues as well as warranty issues?
Tesla has show rooms with repair shops in every state.
During the last 16 years, I had brought my last 3 cars Toyota Corolla via Internet! I paid shipping and sales taxes.

No more scumbag salesman!❤
Buying a microwave online is a lot different than buying a $50,000 car. I think it will be a disaster.
Nobody is going to buy a vehicle without driving it first, and knowing about the car, before buying it, say goodbye to the car industry.
Excellent news! Finally Toyota, GM, and Ford come to their senses! It's good news for consumers that we can save from the dealer system that hounds us with charging over list prices!
GOOD!!!

Who will service the vehicles if there is no Dealerships
Don't worry about If the car fits you and no more negotiation and no more savings just pay them what ever they want
How do you compare cars before buying. Need to sit in and test drive
The last 12 cars (30+ years) have been dealer purchases and I've never been happy with ANY of them. It's about time.
This will never work. These car sales are going to go through the roof now
I think that kind of sucks because sometimes people like to look at a vehicle before they purchase it
I am all for it. Dealerships probably saw this coming given the business model Tesla. I was on its website checking out it's buying process. Pretty cool.

Direct buying will make manufactures more money.
How do you tack a test drive?
That’s a good thing no more (Dealer) markup and they should also make it so you can finance straight from the dealership without having to use a outside bank that would maximize the profits and ensure they get a return
Tesla has showrooms with repair shops. You should test drive a Tesla to try the service.
How much cheaper if buy car online ?
Average 15% saving for buyers
I buy a new car every three years and I like talking to someone at a dealership having a coffee going for a test drive making sure the seats are comfortable and that there are no marks or scratches on the car you can't do that online
Believe me. They will find ways to screw the customers.
Does anyone really think they won’t establish extra charges . Will be no difference in prices. What about trade ins? I’m sure you can’t haggle with them
Hello Carvana!😂
Greed leads to job loss = karma 😂😂😂
They're too expensive.
This will have to be just for totally new vehicles.
all in all this will not decrease the actual cost to the buyers. the m.s.r.p. will remain the same if not it will increase. the only real winners will be the stockholders of course. how about what it will cost to buy out the value of the dealers franchises. what about service? new car prep. dealer installed options. parts. collision. f & I. anti trust?
I'm going to miss free coffee, donuts, and 55"tv in the reception room.
And the $1,000 bills when you go in to get an oil change
If they continue to make crummy products at high prices this will not make a difference. Dealerships already make most of their money from service much of it warranty and recall because of poor manufacturing.
I never buy a car without driving it. If can try for a week w no fees, then im in.
Some states laws don't allow it
Some states don't allow manufacturers to have their own dealerships but here the manufacturers are selling directly to the customer.
Who’s going to do warranty and service.
How does trade-in work?
Yea I hear you. All the car manufacturers problems are the dealers. Get rid of the dealers and their problems will go away and the CEO’s can make their millions of dollars a year and have no problems 😂😂😂. Maybe the dealers should start manufacturing vehicles
They should move to anti gravity technology and a jetsons future
Bottom line. If it results in thousands of dollars off a final purchase why not. Nit going to know until we have a direct sales to nane brand manufactures.
But I can’t take the car for a test drive. I ain’t gonna buy the damn thing.
Finally they are getting rid of stealerships
EV's need 80% less maintenance, most recalls will be online updates
I do not see that working
This will be an disaster for the consumer. Open those wallets, The car maker will save and make more money, but I guarantee you the cost of everything is going to skyrocket
Yes but they'll have to take the loss sales directly to
Repair is on thing
Maintenance and drive train and engine warranties ? Recalls , electronics replacement etc 😂 is that all the dealers will be doing ?

Who's going to do repair recalls?
No one think of all the money they will save and no more maintenance the cars need to be replaced faster and they sell new cars.
It's covered in the video didn't you watch it? They come to your home to perform service. Just like appliance repairs.
Certified mechanic and easier for you to do your repairs.
The car comes with a mechanic. He's in the trunk.
They have to do this in order to compete with soon to arrive Chinese auto's
I’m assuming the shops will still be open , it will not be
selling . In other words cut out the middle man .
Another Bad Idea
😎👍

I doubt car prices will fall.
Get real, can you think of anything that has fallen outside of your $$ buying power.
How can this be done? I thought that dealers where the only way cars could be sold?
In the 1990's a person could order a vehicle pick your interior color style and all the options you want, the only excess cost was shipping
It's a good concept, but many buyers won't qualify for financing through online purchases. Also, who's going to repair the vehicle? No, having a dealership is a better option.
