In the videofootage alone is saw serveral things that wont be street legal in europe: - the aero flips Rory mentioned: Predestrian safety is king in europe - the privacy glass: you can only have tinted glass in the back windows, not the windshield or the front door glass. The last autox I went to they had one there. Lets just say this car does not look like it can handle an auto track and carries the traditional American stigma with it. Well, it won the event, by A LOT. It held the fastest time of the day. Even over cars built for autox. Never thought something this large would decimate Miatas and autox purposed/built vehicles.

10 speed automatic transmissions are a big thing in American cars even American police cars like the Ford Explorer Interceptor and Chevy Tahoe PPV. The Cadillac Escalade and Mustang GT also have 10 speed automatic transmissions. Anyway, I love these sport pony cars!!! This and the Shelby GT500 are my type of cars because they stand out in looks and sound so good!! I prefer dual clutch transmission to this 10 speed automatic tho imo. I live in the US and I love seeing Europeans appreciating our cars!
I drove a SS a few years ago. It handles really well. The visibility was laughably bad and getting in and out of the car removes all dignity. Awesome car once you are in it though.
The whole “bad visibly” thing with Camaros is kinda misleading. Yes it’s bad, but you get used to it very quickly, and the people saying it has bad visibility are people who have driven it once. Also it’s pretty easy to get in and out of imo.

I mean salmon is big business in CA and WA so it makes sense that we'd want to protect our natural resources. And swapping out brake discs and pads isn't really a big deal IMO.

I've always wanted a muscle car. It is a literal life ambition. My fear is though, by the time I'm in a position to lease or buy one (Mustang is the dream), carbon regulations, green zones etc. will render such a purchase near impossible. In addition to companies no longer making such cars which is surely only going to drive the price up further.
You’ll be able to get a gas vehicle any time in the future regardless if ev’s become the majority. It might be the used market, but look at the demand for classic muscle cars. It’ll be the same thing for the current models in 40-50 years
@@johnblaze8774 As someone mentioned earlier, the older market might be something, but old non-classic muscle cars are the cheapest cars on American roads. They are usually not maintained well and dirty. They don't hold up in value over time.
It's still a torque converter tho and not a dual clutch. I prefer a dual clutch transmission over a torque converter automatic transmission for more precise shifting and road course.
I once saw one of these at a track day in Mass. It was off the track on its roof just before the first corner on the first lap of the day. True story. Novice track driver.
Correct, it is the brake pads that have copper in them, and GM have since made a brake upgrade available for the Camaro that does not include copper, as copper is being phased out across the industry.

Great video Rory! I love the Alfa chassis that GM has. People tend to sleep on them.
Alpha.
@@turdzilla1675 thanks for the correction
Good job Chevy, I'm really liking that front grill and the mesh design going on. I actually like it's design over the C8.
Cannot believe it’s banned in Europe, bearing in my that they make the most powerful cars in the world. Me personally I think this would be my car of choice if I had the money. Great review again Rory. Merry Christmas to you and can’t wait to see you in the new year.
Europe is regulation hell. I guess that’s the price of good cheese.
it has nothing to do with power or emissions..
In the videofootage alone is saw serveral things that wont be street legal in europe:
- the aero flips Rory mentioned: Predestrian safety is king in europe
- the privacy glass: you can only have tinted glass in the back windows, not the windshield or the front door glass. (a: the police needs to be able to see the driver from outside, b: safety: It distores the color you can see)
- the red daytime running lights: Big nono, Since other drivers might think they see the back of a car, not the front!
@@manuelg8050 The tiniest little small fraction of the vast reasons why I will never live in Europe.
The fascia on this cammy is amazing!
Yes after all these electric reviews, All hail the petrol engine!!!!!
Yessssssss my thoughts exactly.
Exactly
And to add to that, long live the Chevy small block.
Was getting tired if the electric stuff

Always fun to see the UK crowd have some fun with big thicc American V8s
The last autox I went to they had one there. Lets just say this car does not look like it can handle an auto track and carries the traditional American stigma with it. Well, it won the event, by A LOT. It held the fastest time of the day. Even over cars built for autox. Never thought something this large would decimate Miatas and autox purposed/built vehicles.
2.0 Camaro won the national autox championship
Damn Rorey, I remember when you started on youtube and now youre at Autotrader. Hell yeah man get it
I think it looks so menacing and the sound is just awesome, it shouts " Get out of my way".
My 1st car was originally bought brand new by my Grandmother is her Dailey. It was. 64.5 Mustang. I took it over in 1976 as my 1 st car. Lucky me!!!! I miss that car. Grandma is gone too, miss her just as much, she was a sweetheart.❤️
Thank you for the dedication to Sabine Schmitz at the end of the video guys.
I know I've said that before but honestly the camera crew are simply epic !!! Especially at 0:28 oh my God the filming angle is epic coming out of an action movie well done guys !!!
Best thing is you can still get it in manual .
Always been a fan of American muscle cars. Always liked the Camaro. This version looks absolutely stunning.
Not Rory trying to wipe the smoke from the inside of the car 🤣
I love how he can't stop smiling.
All the cars with 10 speed automatic transmissions you mentioned have a variation of the same 10-speed transmission co-developed by GM and Ford.
I know that. Ford and GM produced a wonderful 10 speed automatic transmission!
This car is synonymous with battle hardened
Nice shout out to Sabine!
0:27, Can't hide pure automotive joy, the man looks as tickled as can be!😃
Forged in the fires of Mordor. If Sauron had a car, this would be it.
I drove a SS a few years ago. It handles really well. The visibility was laughably bad and getting in and out of the car removes all dignity. Awesome car once you are in it though.
so you're saying you're short and fat lol?
@@gregscott4479 maybe. 511 170ish and I do triathlons.
@@LukeDupin if you face back first and squat into it it’s a lot easier
@@LukeDupin thats a nice build actually unless you have like no muscle mass
The whole “bad visibly” thing with Camaros is kinda misleading. Yes it’s bad, but you get used to it very quickly, and the people saying it has bad visibility are people who have driven it once. Also it’s pretty easy to get in and out of imo.
Best bang for the buck of any Muscle car out there. Does everything well.
Nope…a hellcat red eye charger….can fit 5 adults….more trunk space….can daily drive…and just as fast and exiting….

I could watch this guy and Chris Harris talk about cars any day, all day. Great drivers too
I don't get why people always question reliability when it comes to GM my dad bought his truck brand new in 2000 it was a Silverado Z71 package and he hasn't had 1 problem ever since he got it service's it regularly it runs so good
Cadillac 4-6-8, Iron Duke, Ignition Switch, 3rd Gen F-Body...
@@vomErsten You're being awfully modest. That list is far longer.
their v8's are good and reliable, anything else from gm sucks
Everyone is just saying that bc they don't know how to take care of there car my dad is a mechanic and knows the proper technique for everything GM is us favorite brand name 1 American car company Better than GM when it comes to reliability
My son has a Crush Orange 2SS 1LE and it's pretty bad ass. That ZL1 must be mind bending. Love it!
Yes my brother. I’m glad to see one of us driving! Great attitude and refreshing view!
Very enjoyable clip!
We miss Sabine too, a legend gone to soon.
She dead?
I like to watch his car review videos the energy and excitement is wild. This how I like reviews
Love your review Rory! But so you know, the salmon die off from copper in disc brake run off is stomach turning material. Suffice to say, no dead salmons on your plate for long if issue is not tackled aggressively. Super grateful that state of CA took action. Read about it.
I mean salmon is big business in CA and WA so it makes sense that we'd want to protect our natural resources. And swapping out brake discs and pads isn't really a big deal IMO.
Commiefornia? I'm sure plastics are much more dangerous to all living things than copper.
You keep the salmon. I'll take the car.

Closest I’ll get to driving one is levelling up to one on Asphalt 9 😂. Amazing car!
He’s having a blast. Excellent video.
Sabine will be missed! Prayer goes out to her family!!
Own a 2019 ZL1 Crush, the car is as amazing as described. Great review mate! Be safe all and God Bless!
Same fear man
You’ll be able to get a gas vehicle any time in the future regardless if ev’s become the majority. It might be the used market, but look at the demand for classic muscle cars. It’ll be the same thing for the current models in 40-50 years
You can get them in 4 cylinders
@@candlercando not the same
@@johnblaze8774 As someone mentioned earlier, the older market might be something, but old non-classic muscle cars are the cheapest cars on American roads. They are usually not maintained well and dirty. They don't hold up in value over time.
Damn man, that broke my heart to see your face go blank and say what we all think about Sabine. Nice shoutout for a legend.
Shifts faster than a PDK. Well... That's a bold statement
Yeah I cringed on that statement 🤣😬
It's still a torque converter tho and not a dual clutch. I prefer a dual clutch transmission over a torque converter automatic transmission for more precise shifting and road course.
@@cywoods60 Have you driven both cars back to back to refute that statement?
I believe that their claim is from shift initiation not from paddle pull.
Being a Chevy guy the ZL1 is Definitely a dream car for me.
This cars almost as legendary as its owner 🙌🙌🙌
I once saw one of these at a track day in Mass. It was off the track on its roof just before the first corner on the first lap of the day. True story. Novice track driver.
Now I see the reason for all those tedious EV reviews........to offset this awesome beast😉

Technically I think the brake *pads* are the thing with copper in them, and are illegal. Not the rotors.
Correct, it is the brake pads that have copper in them, and GM have since made a brake upgrade available for the Camaro that does not include copper, as copper is being phased out across the industry.
Beautiful ZL1. Watched a few videos with this guy. Really like his reviews. Keep it up good job

When a car can bring that excited young boy out of a grown man it is truly something special! Zli is one of the best track cars of this generation .
