Just like Val-Pak. I get one every month, and every month, without fail, they have the very same advertisers in the envelope. Repeat exposure is far more important and more valuable over time to businesses, than getting a new customer from every postcard advertised on. Sales are nice indeed, but that repeat exposure is key.
Great perspective and advice as always. What is your suggestion on how to maybe structure an ongoing deal with repeat advertisers so that you already have a commitment?
Selling exposure over response makes sense. But "easier said than done" comes to mind. How do you convince owners of the value of the real estate when they're convinced they want/need quick new business?
The easy thing to do is promise all sorts of results you can't control - which sells spaces but makes for difficulty getting them to advertise again if you don't deliver. The harder (slightly) part is to not use response as a crutch to sell spaces and instead use exclusivity and exposure. Businesses that understand marketing will see the value (especially ones with deep pockets). Businesses that are looking for unrealistic crazy results are the ones that are probably stuck never "getting anything to work". sidenote: if someone really needs X results, then of course work with them and help them craft great offers and leverage the advantages they may have.
@@HighResponseMarketing In this video, you made a great case for the agency on the benefits of selling exposure. Would love a video of you making the case to the business owner, including handling likely objections -- and, as you hinted at in your reply, when to tell them they're not a good fit; and how to say that. 😁
Hi Jake, is it okay to suggest to a potential client to track their ad on the card by offering something specific like a code or number on their ad which would help determine where the sale came from?
Hey Paul, yeah absolutely. That's the great thing about direct mail, it's very trackable (QR codes, tracking numbers, coupon redemptions, promot codes, etc.). But you just don't want to be setting expectations like "you'll probably make X percentage from this", as you don't have control over that.
Is this something I can learn without the course?! Also what kind of software do I need to make this on a computer? And you say it cost money to get them printed as well? I’m genuinely interested. Just wanting to know more details and if there is an upfront investment in 💰?!?
I use a 16 layout grid. #16 is the mail panel. Offer some discount for multiple spaces. If you fill 4 spaces with 1 sale, that's 3 sales you won't be spending time on. Especially good if you can get them to repeat.

valpak you gotta open...we usually toss it and dont open it
I knew a painter that dropped crazy money on postcards just for a big write off. the exposure and customer acquisition was a bonus.
some have co-op money to the tune of thousands or even tens of thousands they have to use too, happens all the time.
@@HighResponseMarketingwow what types of businesses have the coop money?
This is 🔥
Good information! I’d like to start something like this in my area. Do you have any videos on how to get started and where to find the postcards etc.?
Yes! Lots of videos and podcasts on my channel about it or you can check out my course: highresponsemarketing.com/9x12
@@HighResponseMarketing thanks for the information. Do you also know anything about handwriting services for letters and envelopes?

Hey does your elite membership include the full 9x12 course?

It's called "TOMA" Top Of Mind Awareness
Ok I sold 12 of 16 spots for a January mailing and I haven’t got a mailing list for my area yet. What do I do now??!
Great stuff
Sorry if you went over this before but how many spots can I sell on the 9x12?
14-16 is the most common by far, but you can technically put 19 if you use a tic tac toe layout. i personally like 16 becuase you can vary the sizes

I joined as an elite member but the FB link in the instructions on your website doesn't work. I get "This content isn't available right now"
Hey! Just search fb for "high response 9x12" and I'll approve your request!
@@HighResponseMarketing Thanks for your response! I just did
How much money do you need to get started with this business?
Zero
@@HighResponseMarketing As in starting out dropshipping them, or are we talking credit cards?
You sell the spots, get the money up front from the businesses and then use it to pay for everything (postcards printing, postage etc)
