Awesome sculpture! I think the void on the skull makes it look more like a proper fossil from either morping or an injury (called a pathology). Also, the little holes above the teeth are likely attachement points for muscles and nerves that would lead to the lips that covered the teeth on most dinosaurs! These holes can also be seen in lizard and crocodile skulls.

wow thank you so much, I am glad you like it!
What I appreciate most is how close to accurate anatomy u tried to get. It goes far for detail-oriented people like me to see work this dedicated.

You are gifted beyond words. Such talent should be showcased on a level such as a Master class. Your works should be sold out worldwide.
As soon as the void came up I immediately thought that I would’ve kept it. It not only is apart of the ancient tree’s past, but it would look like the skull is more withered and authentic. Very beautiful piece ❤️ It would be absolutely stunning in a museum!!!
The void over the eye gives the sculpture a unique touch and also represents the original wood even more. I love that part. Would have kept it too.
Your work is amazing! It is awesome what you are able to create out of a piece of wood (and sometimes other materials).
Wish I had only 1% of your skill.
This is absolutely a piece of art for a museum! But not for free! You deserve a hell lot of money for that masterpiece!
the cinematography, the quality, the realism, and all the time and effort, this is such an amazing craft. well done! 👏🎬
Hi Blake, I am a master craftsman and artist/ machinist myself and I just felt compelled to tell you how impressive your work is. Outstanding.
@staninjapan9 Dont be jealous, if you want to do the things he does then just start
@staninjapan9 Just gotta keep practicing, it's a skill
@Aila-in-Japanpractice makes perfect
I too am a 'master craftsman `
As much as I want to say this is your second best sculpture ever, I have no choice but to agree with you lol. Absolutely beautiful! Also I like that you didn’t fill that hole. Completely makes it look more authentic.
hahaha nooo!!! You know, I LOVE the RT, but just the size of the T-rex makes this one a little different. Lets say they are just in different weight classes 😂😂😂
@@BMSculptures oh I get it but I just wish I had a space in my house for that one!

The opening is a great reminder to anyone to think hard before turning a hobby or passion into a job. If this was a client piece you probably would have had to scrap that first piece of wood and find a new one or have a hard conversation with the client.
The opening is a great reminder for everyone to stop putting most cliche, tasteless and dull opening before a cool crafting video
Breathtaking sculpture. I look at my cutting board that you made and understand, just a little more, how talented you are and how much work it took to make the T-Rex. Stunning piece.
As a person who is in contact with skulls on a daily basis I found this so cool seeing you carve one, most dinosaur skulls are ridiculously similar to bird skulls and seeing the same holes I see on this as I do on bird skulls was enlightening to me
What do you do that you come into contact with skulls daily??
@@felsonduem7100 I'm a taxidermist/ collector, cleaner and seller of animal skulls mostly sheep at the moment but I'm currently building a couple of horse skeletons
That is a very interesting job
@repentandbelieveinJesusChrist1 repent to Jesus for dissobaying his teachings of loving thy neighbour and treating them how you wish to be treated, he includes atheists In this passage going as far as saying atheists are better than Christians as we do acts of good for goods sake rather than for fear of retribution, god and Jesus love all including those you would see as sinners according to the bible because God doesn't hate sinners but the sin
I'm a big dinosaur lover and I have to say that this sculpture is the most beautiful I've ever seen, your work can't be compared to anything else your sense of the little things makes this thing incredibly beautiful to look at :-) WOW keep up the work and i hope to see your work in real life some day
Thank you so much 😀
The voids were spot on to leave it gave the sculpture character. This is a Stunning piece ❤
Without pain there is no gain. Your attention to detail is always brilliant but you have absolutely knocked it out of the park with this one. Amazing piece of artistry that deserves to be in a museum and enjoyed by many 👏
Thank you so much 😀
The complexity and physical difficulty of this project clearly offered a mountain of challenges, but you overcame it all to create a real masterpiece. Truly mind-blowing to see this gradually taking shape. Such a treat to watch a master sculptor at work on his craft. Thanks.
👍😍
They are for sensory glands like Alligator & crocodile have. You almost got it completely correct. Pray especially afraid or spooked pray put off an odor those sensory glands pick up on. We'll that what I've read & I'm 99.9% positive. Nah I'm 100% or I would not have mentioned it. They are usually night hunters or ambush predators.
I clicked on this video with the intention of skipping to the end to see the final product. When I heard in the into that this was the hardest thing you've worked on with 400 hours, I felt like it would only be right to watch the full 20 minutes. I was not disappointed. Very skilled craftsmanship, well done sir.
The end result was actually wayyy better than I expected, and the missing part at the top added a lot of character to it.
400 hrs @ 20$ = pricey sculpture

You're SO RIGHT! The notch over the eye looks incredible. It adds so much character and life to an already spectacular work of art
Thank you so much!
The lines that dynamically run along the top and sides of the skull got a huge “whoa” from me, this is absolutely insane levels of craftsmanship.
Thank you!!!
Woah, it is you! I did not expect to find you here, 😊.
I concur, the craftsmanship of this man is mythical. I would not be able to conceive anything to his par even if I tried, lol.
Bravo!!! As a 50+ yr artist, I absolutely loved the sculpture and the video!!
Wow. Your masterpiece deserves to be in the Smithsonian Museum. I hope all your hard work and dedication gets recognized and appreciated wherever it ens up going. We’ll done
Thank you for the support!
As a hobbyist carver I must say that this is incredible!!! Your skill is very apparent! The wood is beautiful and working around the void was the best decision you could have made! Bravo sir bravo!
I forwarded this to a wood carving dentist friend who would appreciate your efforts on many levels. Incredible work. Good eye. Great ability to rework the plan as you progressed. Patience is a virtue that rewards those who practice it.
That’s one of the finest pieces of wood sculpture I’ve seen anyone has made..outstanding 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The absolute best part of this whole thing was how that void actually contributed to the end result. This is what people mean when they talk about happy accidents. What an incredible work of art. Bravo to you sir! If this doesn’t end up in a museum somewhere where people can enjoy it, it would be a travesty. . .
Your patience, skill and creativity are amazing. You really brought out the hidden beauty of the burl. Congrats in following your dream!
Thank you for making something so amazing to honor this special piece of wood, and for sharing this with us. Thank you for not giving up!
Your dedication to the anatomical accuracy is ASTOUNDING! Even as much as I love dinosaurs and paleontology, no way would I have dedicated so much time and effort to getting all those internal details in the hollow parts of the skull. Amazing work!
Absolutely incredible Blake! You have a serious gift to look at a solid mass and visualize the end result, knowing exactly where the material needs to be removed to achieve your vision. That's a true art. Keep it up man, always inspiring to see your creations
I'm a semi professional woodworker, do a lot of work in textured and carved redwood and cherry, both powered and with gouges, and have to say you did an incredible job. And yes, definitely leaving the void was the right thing to do.
I knew it would not be obtainable for me but I said to my hubby that I wanted to buy it if I had the means before I even saw the finished result because I KNEW it was going to be epic! I was not dissapointed. I am in awe and look forward to each and every video you produce!
Thank you so much!
Wow! Just wow!
Job well done sir! I love to see someone expose their raw talents! Thank you for sharing!
I’m obsessed. Absolutely INCREDIBLE work man.
First time viewer but definitely subscribed and will continue watching now.
Between the artwork and your openness about overcoming the complexity and stress of this piece, I fully commend you and admire it. Again, incredible work.

Hey Blake
I came up to this video after i was trying to recover from a sad incident as my wife suffered from a miscarriage and we lost our twin boys...
I watched this video with my wife and she was really astonished !
We realized that this is life...ups and downs
Your consistency and dedication will always be an inspiration!
Keep the great job my friend
Late, but sorry to hear about the miscarriage. 😔
Thank you for sharing your work and talent for all of us to see. You are an inspiration to artists both present and future.

It’s always the most challenging works that you’re the most proud of. Absolutely gorgeous piece
There aren’t words to describe this piece. Simple words like beauty and amazing just pale in light of the piece itself. Fantastic job!!
Wow! I'm really impressed! You did a fantastic job and it actually looks like the skull of a T-rex! You are a awesome artist!
You’ve made something transcendent, Blake. The joining of old growth redwood and a T-Rex skull is a brilliant idea. And your incredible skills and tenacity brought it to life.
You’ve elevated the beauty of redwoods; an incredibly difficult thing to do, IMO. Bravo.
Thank you so much Zak!
So artistic. Love your work. Thank you.❤
That would have to be the most beautiful wood sculpture I have ever seen, it was a pleasure to watch.
That was incredible. Absolutely astounding. Watching this I was like yea this is super cool, but then you started adding the teeth and I couldn’t help but smile and got a little teary eyed. This belongs in a place where thousands upon thousands of people can see and enjoy this.
Thank you so much. I really hope it can someday!
A masterpiece beyond all odds. Blake, I've seen all your videos since you've started, and this work is mesmerizing. Your love for perfection soon will be rewardered. ❤

This one is insane- incredible work
There isn’t even a word that comes close to describing the dedication and skill you display in your sculpting process and in the final product. I am amazed. I think my mouth was open the entire time. You work so hard on all of these videos and on every single piece you do. You put your heart into literally everything you touch and I am so inspired by it. This is the definition of greatness. No wonder you were a professional athlete. Your professionalism shines off the field in every aspect. I love these videos so much. You are in inspiration. Thank you.❤️
This is INCREDIBLE and deserves to be in a museum or to sell for millions. Either way, I hope this is appreciated by as many people as possible for as long as possible! You should be so proud of what you accomplished
Thank you so much!
I am in awe of anyone who can work three-dimensionally in this way.
I build scale models and that takes a certain amount of patience and determination. I applaud your determination to work through this project and see it to the end. The result is absolutely awesome. I must admit, I don't think I would have the patience for this type of artwork. You are at an entirely different level of creativity. Well done is an understatement! Thank you for sharing this fantastic piece of artwork!
Wow! Simply stunning! I love everything about it, the skull, the table, the wood! All so beautiful & skillfully done! Thanks so much for sharing the process!
This piece is freaking unbelievable. I've watched all your videos and love every piece you make but this one has to be my favorite so far. You're a true artist!!
I have no words. It is absolutely mastful, it's like magic watching you carve it! I love the imperfectsion as well, especially because I too struggle to accept them in my work/art too. Either way, this was absolutely worth it, and you are incredibly strong to have persevered enough to finish this spectacularly epic sculpture! ❤
(I honestly kinda hope this will find its home in a museum, the world needs to see this and not just in video form either!)
That’s wicked! What an insane sculpture! Great job!
From my son: "We saw your carving show and thought it was awesome! Good work! Thank you for sharing!!"
I am calling it, right now. You are on your way to becoming the “Bob Ross” of wooden 🪵 sculptures. Keep up the good work.
Ahh, that's going a little to far. I know some world class carvers from big bear lake Ca. Google it & the wood carving scene. That place is full of carvers from Canada Europe & even Russia. They carve eagles that look life like Totem, bears & you can name the animal & they can carve it with just a chainsaw only. No little Dremel tools just chain saws of all sizes of blade. This guy's good really really good but I've personally seen guys that talented if not more talented in big bear lake Ca. Well they were from all around the world but lived up there at the time I was into chainsaw carving. I'm not even on this guys level. Especially after I broke my neck. I can't hardly hold something that heavy for that long anymore. Lol..
@@davel696969you sure do have a lot to share😂
Awesome creation. Truely 'jaw dropping' effort. Every minute spent on this sculpture shows. Cheers for your future endeavors. 😊
I hope not!!!
The price for this is insanely high but definitely worth all of the work that was put into this amazing sculpture, great job and congratulations on finishing it and not pushing through the low points!
Let me preface my comment by saying $48K is a lot of money, and nothing I could afford, however, that amounts to just $120 an hour. That's really not all too much when you consider some presidents son can drop paint on a canvas and make an honest $500,000 and I'm sure it has nothing to do with money laundering or anything else illegal .
If I had the talent to carve and spent that much time on it I would definitely charge the same price. Someone will buy it and appreciate it.
HUGE congrats, this is a giant, impressive achievement indeed! The reveal of the many chunks saved under the tarp at 11:44 is my favorite part - I'm so happy that so many cut-offs from this project will be saved and used in future works!
You’re something else, Blake. This is breathtaking.. Belo trabalho rapaz, voce é muito bom no que faz!.
That is an amazing sculpture! I agree it should be on display in a Museum, the problem is should it be in a Natural History or an Art Museum! Either way it is beyond remarkable! A true master piece!
So freaking cool. Love the process and the finished product. And the "scarred" look works really well. Brilliant ❤
Absolutely stunning! This piece is amazing, the time and effort you have put into this shows and if this was my work I would not stop smiling 😅
Your ability to flawlessly merge wood and epoxy in your sculptures mesmerizes me every video!
I absolutely love it, such beautiful work. The complexity of the wood and such a detailed sculpture go so well together. For me, it is definitely the best choice. I love your sculptures and craftmenship. All the best from Germany👋
Absolutely stunning! Im so glad you chose not to fill that void on the top left. It looks so much more realistic leaving it out. I absolutely love your work. Thanx for sharing 👏 GBU
Thank you for this upload Blake! It's always an absolute pleasure when you take us these journeys with you.
Wishing you all the best !
Glad you want to take this journey with me!
I know it's nothing in the grand scheme of things but you definitely earned my subscription. What a great talent you have and I hope you get top dollar for that sculpture. Really good replica and I'm sure whoever you acquired that burledwood from is astonished too! 💯
this looks absolutely incredible!
amazing work, Blake!
More than anything I'm impressed that you had the courage to cut into such an incredible and valuable of wood. I'm hoping you found some cool uses for the scraps and cut offs.... would make some peutiful pen blanks and small carvings....
I feel the same way. For a huge burl like this, i would be so hesitant to do big cuts…
Nossa, você é fantástico! Sou apaixonada pelas suas obras. Parabéns 👏👏👏👏
That's beyond words, beautiful work my friend . The grain on that wood is stunning. Great job Blake!.
I love the flaw in the wood you are right it makes it look more authentic. You really did do an amazing job!
I hate that 3D Printing has put countless of truly artistic sculptors (like me) out of doing what they love because it's no longer worth the time. I love watching your work come to life and still value the love you put in every piece. Living my dream through you brother.....
I don't think 3D printing has the same value as a fully hands on made piece. It doesn't even compete.
I mean, yeah, Zbrush is still artistic but being able to carve a thing like that on wood or stone, or even model in clay is another level.
And 3d printers cant do wood
Gosh this looks absolutely stunning! I hope that it goes to a museum or a collector who shares stuff on social media this way we all can see it again! Congratulations man!
That is amazing! Im sure in-person would be breath taking! So happy such a valuable piece of wood ended up in your hands! And such a cool subject to carve it into! You made the right choice in waiting to see how the eye turned out. I agree, it looks best the way it turned out.
It must be a source of pride to make something worthy of a museum
Haven't even seen your channel before, but this is amazing! Huge respect for what you made and have gone through to get it done. This is an incredible achievement, both physically and mentally. An excellent piece of art. You did a phenominal job!

So I don’t know if this is creepy or not but I am obsessed with making skulls for my art so when I saw this video’s thumbnail and also the process you did my jaw dropped absolutely incredible and I hope you get someone to buy this piece as this is incredible if I wasn’t a college student and actually had money I would have looked into getting it!
If I weren't so tight on funds I'd definitely want to buy this too! Great minds think alike!
It isn’t creepy at all. Each skull is unique in its way. You can make amazing pieces and designs from skulls.
