You know what Jackson?/Human beings are the most disgusting pieces of filth on this planet. Complaining about animals. Who cares IF they are dumb. It is what makes them loving. Humans aren't dumb, and look at us now. Disgusting creatures. I love all animals. I tried to be vegan for a long time, and still would be if my body allowed it. Humans should kiss animals' feet and thank them for all they have done for their lausy race.
You should check out stories like Grumpy Cat, Wilfred Warrior and Simon's Cat. Also, why do the cats have strange reactions whenever their back ends get scratched or brushed, why do cats made weird noises when they eat and drink and what are the six-toed cats?
Cat question: why is it that male cats seem to become "parents" for kittens that come into the home, whereas female cats ignore them? Have observed this several times, the makes bathe them and sleep with them. Super sweet ❣️. Thank you 🐾
I think that a video about "difficult" adoption types would be neat. Sometimes people are afraid of different cats at the shelters just because they hear their histories. Our cat came from a home with 50 cats. It took almost a week to get him to stop hissing at us. I was afraid he might have litter box issues, but he is doing great (no accidents). He has been with us for 6 months now and has not hissed for several months and is a sweetie. He loves getting attention from us.
I got my orange boy because my Siamese needed a friend. He was lonely and bored. So we went to the shelter and asked “which one is super playful and won’t mind being randomly tackled?” They showed us Prince and told us he had been returned twice for his quirks. We just celebrated 2 years with him. He and my Siamese are best friends and the vet techs at my vet LOVE him.
yesss, the first time we took my orange cat (julius) to the vet, they said he was so charming and friendly. compared to a tabby i had who was banned from the vet except for emergencies
We got a void kitten from a accidental litter. Quickly we noticed she needs a friend so we obsessively looked for a friend that would fit her hyper playful nature. When I saw the first photos of my ginger boy I fell in love instantly. The first photo you could just see that face of pure mischief. We where told he is hyper playful and never stops and though he is playful and hyper he still can't keep up with her. They are still great friends though and will literally groom each other in mid play wrestle. He is a total derp and will try to cause mischief when we aren't looking but he is the sweetest most lovable tolerant boy.
@@acewray4288I have many questions about how hard does a cat have to freak out to be outright banned from a vet. … The question is rhetorical btw, I do in fact have a ghost of an idea
I have a cat that is half Siamese. We got her as a friend for our tabby who became very despondent when our older cat died. It backfired big time. She absolutely hated the little Siamese kitten, and the poor little kitten had no one to play with :( So a few months later we rescued a little orange kitten who needed a home. He was so playful and hyper! It was nearly impossible to even take his picture when he was little because he never stopped moving unless he was sleeping. Orange boy and Siamese girl became instant friends 😊 Our wild little tabby never did warm up to either of them despite all our efforts and patience. We showered little tabby girl with affection and continued to try to put her first so that she would know how much we still love her. It’s been about three years. Siamese girl and orange boy continue to be best friends, and our wild little tabby girl still hates them both, but we love her anyway and we try to give them all equal attention. Our kitties are our family ❤
My orange cat taught me how to walk as a baby. He'd stand next to me and hold his tail straight up for me to hold while I walked. He'd stay under my stroller and hiss at any stranger approaching. He also followed my mom and I to the daycare ( 3 blocks away) and stay there no matter the weather until my mom came back to bring me home. He was very smart and he lived to be 18 years old. Best cat ever.
@@kwingleyeah i bet there were many dogs just like the person here described but just because some few pets are better doesnt mean it becomes better. For example if there were dolphins much smarter than humans would it mean that dolphins are smarter than humans?
My orange cat is literally Garfield. He's not stupid, just extremely lazy. But because he's so incredibly food motivated, we were able to teach him a few tricks.
My mother felt terrible when I would joke about how stupid our orange boy was. Wow was I wrong as could be. He learned to tell time and would escort my dad home from the train station. 4 windy, hilly blocks each way. He knew when to leave the house, and would pick my father out of the crowd of commuters, to safely escort him home. He would play all sorts of games with my dad, and his paws were fast as lightning. 19 wonderful years. He was many things, but no threat of being dumb.
This comment deserves many more likes and replies than it has. I lost my kitty along with my dog in September of last year, I got her when I was 8 years old and now I’m 27, so I completely understand why those memories you mentioned are important. Reading about how your precious one used to walk your dad home moved me so much it brought me to tears. Such a lovely story ❤
I grew up on a farm, so I've known quite a few orange cats. Most were just the friendliest little guys, but the one that made the most impact was our 3rd indoor cat Pickles. That cat had Personality, whether it was his boisterous singing voice, slamming my parents door open in the morning when he wanted food, or his constant digging and chasing his tail. Loved that man and I'll never forget him. RIP Pickus ❤
my jet black farm cat was named pickles cause i was 7Yo and loved dill pickles. And it stuck, and she was the smartest best cat. Can never forget that one. it left a scare on my heart when she died. But she lived a good long life, and had some grey fur at the end.
I had a cat named Pickles but he was black with white hairs speckled within, the vet called it salty pepper hair. His Mama had some difficulty giving birth to him and had bit the top of his head to pull him out of her. It left a big open wound and we thought he wasn't going to live but his Mama's TLC healed him, however, I think that head sore caused him to be a little low on the cat IQ scale.
I had an orange/yellowish cat my son named Tico. He was such a funny, sweet boy. He loved attacking my fake palm tree. I currently have a tortie and she is fully of Tortitude...but sweet as she can be.
I have a female cream orange tabby who just has the most cattitude I've ever seen. Knocking things over, immediately climbing into any open kitchen cabinet, jumping in the bathtub after I've showered only to panic when its a bit wet, trying to chew electrical cords, trying to drink out of our water glasses when her own water dish is RIGHT THERE... keeping her safe is hard, but keeping her entertained is hella easy. And she's super loving! She watches us come and go out the window and greets us at the door like a dog!
I have her sister. Mine is not super loving but she pay attention to me when she wants something. The most difficult part of her is that she cannot be bribed with food. She only eats food in her bowl and it had to be cat food. If I try to give her tiny piece of chicken or tuna she will not eat in even if I mix it with her food. she will leave it.
Mine , the Ginger private investigator chews on everything, have to lock everything down. She is a cat dog likes to chase after balls and jumps on high China cabinets.
Don't forget Jorts is also a union cat! He may not know how doors work, but he understands workers' rights :) My upstairs neighbor has an orange lad who is TINY, and whenever I go up to visit, he LAUNCHES himself into my arms. Definitely very friendly!
My parents have an orange cat that's now 22 years old.All his life he's been calm, friendly and intelligent. He's never destroyed anything or gone super wild, he listens and obeys when you tell him to stop if he's doing something he's not supposed to. The last ten years he's been able to walk around the garden himself, and he stays close. Sometimes other cats shows up, and he's always friendly to them and not at all territorial. He's even made friends with some. When I think about it... he's a very odd cat. Nice, but odd.
My orange cat lived for 19yrs and 10months, he was the most laid-back, friendly, intelligent buddy I could have ever hoped to have. And I got to live with him for 20 years! I miss you, Biscuit, you were a real one.
Same here with mine who will be 16 in August. My big baby. My partner of love and companionship. He's the best with gorgeous hazel eyes. I don't want to lose him ever! Sorry for your loss. Be well.
My orange coon is the same way. Only cat that might give him a run for the intelligence meter is my black cat. They both learn pretty easy compared to the other 4 lol
The Jorts and Jean thing is partly a phenomenon because it's about critters with different personalities and needs helping each other and being friends. They are working cats, acting like mascots and helping visitors and employees relax. Where Jean rescues Jorts from closets and trash cans, Jorts rescues Jean from big meetings and loud noises. And there's no judgment in that symbiotic relationship. It's so WHOLESOME.
@@Jayalaw Pam's intentions were good. She was genuinely trying to improve the cats' quality of life, and she's realized it was unfair to them to do the things she did. Personally, I try not to judge her too harshly. That said, she used margarine instead of butter without checking if margarine is safe for cats (it emphatically is not), so... yes. Pam can have little a judgment. As a treat.
I think it's sad that so many lovely animals are not being loved by families. All my pets have been rescued with the exception of my daughter's Guinea Pigs. For those little guys, you need a reliable source.
Loved this hilarious video, Jackson! I'm surprised you hadn't heard about orange tabby stereotypes, though -- vets literally call them "mellow yellows" because they tend to be so laid-back and social. (I still miss my sweet orange boy Sam, now gone almost 20 years and I still miss him so much.)
My orange boy of 19 years was my best friend and partner in crime! Very self aware and proud, very loving and demanding, very loyal and true! Fought for his right to enjoy and rule life until the very end! Miss you forever, Sunshine! P.S. just adopted a rescue orange kitten and he is the silliest, goofiest, friendliest, most loving creature! Orange tabbies rule!
Just lost my orange guy a little before the 4th of July. He was the sweetest, smartest, lovingest, who thought he was a human...greeted people like a puppy and always wanted to make friends with any living being. He is greatly missed. R.I.P Wynn.
My partners cat ... lovely lovely ginger boy But will lick you non stop Trip on himself and meow outside for the door to be opened...... even though it is open Lovely guy though just very very .... dopey He even trips on the door frame coming in or just over his own foot
@@levibull6063 Damn. Seems clumsy. I love you call him a ginger, I'm a redhead and call mine a ginger lolz. We lived in a very rural great basin city (and I guess my cat still does). My cat seems to hold the record in the area for years lived without disappearing, 16, and going strong, so he's gotta be fairly capable for a cat, or he's just super lucky. Love my Tiger, even though he's a major troll.
I'm not sure I'd call orange cats dumb, just unwise. 😂They're very clever at solving what they want to solve! But they take risks that seem, well, unwise haha. Mine is very loving and cuddly as well.
I've had my little orange boy for a few months now and he is 50% snuggly sleepyhead and 50% crazy, running across the house then running back and fighting your hand to the death XD And I love him so much
Hi Jackson! My orange tabby, Tiger, I adopted him from our local animal shelter a day before he was going to be Put to sleep. He was a neighbor cat that came over and hung out. Another neighbor took him to the shelter and I wondered where he was. There he was on the shelters web site in the feral section. I went down there and found out wht happened and adopted him. I let the original owners know and that was fine with them. He was about four years old and had not been neutered. He was kind of a friendly tough guy. I had him for 11 years now. What a wonderful, funny loving cat. Special cat. Marion
That’s so awesome! I’m sure those 11 extra years were the best in his life, it’s so sad he was about to be put to sleep, thank goodness you rescued him!
I rescued an orange boy 7 months ago. He was the exact opposite my other rescue , which was a girl calico. Calico is shy and will only go to me, and orange boy is social, gregarious, and loving. He has taught my little girl to come out of her shell and not hide. She just doesn't want to miss his antics. Now they both make me laugh every day. 😂❤
I love my orange but he definitely has.... Quirks. Jackson's advice helped me when he was a kitten. He wouldn't use the litter box and kept pooping behind my computer. Want to know how I fixed it? I put a litter box behind my computer. Ta da! Thank you Jackson for teaching me to listen to my cats! ❤
Worked for my girl Leigha too. She was peeing in the dining room, so we put a very small box there to remind her to use it and transitioned her to the bigger boxes. She was just being picky about where here box was.
My neighbor had an orange cat 🐈 and he said the cat refused to use the litter box even though their other cat did. He said that it would only go in the bathroom in the bath tub. I thought it was so funny. 🤣 😆 😂
my orange boy's health is starting to decline drastically and its been breaking my heart, he's very old and i hate to think our time together is almost over but i will always remember him for being the most charismatic cat i ever had with such a loving personality. he's so unique to me, he was a cat that always noticed when i was sad and would give me extra company, there was such caretaker personality to him and how he cared for me during hard times. update: he was taken to the vet and it turns out he had an infection from a cat fight, since then he has gained most of his weight back and he is looking completely different and healthy. i'm so blessed he's okay!
I’m so glad to hear that your orange boy is better. He sounds like a wonderful companion. It’s so scary when your cat is unwell and you think you might lose them. My big orange boy, in my profile picture, was wobbly on his back legs, falling when he tried to jump and vey lethargic. We took him to the emergency vet where they did some tests and put him on a drip for fluids. He came home the next day and we were told he probably had HCM (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) needed a heart scan and may only live for six months to a year. I was so upset. He seemed to be back to normal in about two or three days and stopping him tearing around the house and play fighting with his little orange brother was impossible. After his heart scan we got the good news that his heart was fine and he probably just bumped into something or caught his back leg when jumping on top of a door. I can completely relate to your relief at your orange boy’s recovery. My hubby did moan a little that we spent £1,500 (about $1928) to find out that our big guy was clumsy but he was so worried about him and happy that he was okay in the end.
My family has 2 orange cats that are brothers from the same litter. They are the most loving , caring and loyal cats ever. Their dad is is also orange and absolutely loves my husband, my husband is his human. We are very blessed to have 3 orange cats that are the most amazing cats ever. All three orange cats are our fur children.
The most brilliant and thoughtful cat I ever knew was a polydactyl orange cat. He could open doors, even the ones with round handles, and he was also very emotionally intelligent with humans. If you were having a bad day, he'd literally open the door to your room and check in on you.
Sadjanese was like that... except he weighed in over 30 friggin' pounds (and was the SECOND giant feline in my life)... Hell of a thing to be flopped on the couch for a stomach ache, though... only to get a 30 pound PLOP to wake you up and see if you're still breathin... haha... I was still pretty young when we got Jody... who eventually became "The King" when he topped out over 35 pounds... Black and white, with a lopsided mustache and a little goatee... Sort of looked like Charlie Chaplin was drunk when he put on his face... and BIG tufts and bold "eyes" on his ears... SO we figured at least part bobcat or lynx (maybe...probably)... He'd scare the Jehovah's Witnesses off the porch, though... and he didn't take NOTHING off of NOBODY... ever. Playful as a kitten, and good with kids... BUT MAN... you did NOT want to piss off "THE King"... not even if you were a pitbull. ;o)
but how many toes did he have? cant tell everyone he was polydactyl and leave us hanging on the number! 7 toes? 8? all one on foot or many feet? so many questions
@@vickypedia1308 Lucky enough Jody (THE King) was pretty avid about feeding himself... though the local rabbit population, squirrel population, and even the ground hog (gopher) population took pretty solid hits in the territory for that decade and a half or so... Sadji'... Well, beyond my contribution of 5 pounds a week, he was a community cat through the building... and I know for a fact he ate regularly enough at 6 other households... He wasn't exactly scrawny... but he wasn't an unhealthy degree of fat for a cat, either... plenty active and all... just not quite the outdoorsy "mayhem incarnate" of THE King... ;o)
🐈🧡My orange cream tabby boy is supper loving and affectionate. He greets me with his tail high up when I come home. He cuddles with me and keeps quiet in my bed when I am sleeping. But right after I wake up, he will snuggle with me with his loud purrs. When I am crying, he will pat me and sit with me. When I need some personal space, he will stay away. He is also such a foodie. He eats like a pig 🐽. He is silly that makes me laugh sometimes. He is indeed larger than other cats. He is pretty well built. If he were a human, he would look like a ginger football player, likely a running back because he loves sprinting off. He is so precious to me!
My male is Huge as well. I hadn't realized for the longest since my female won't have anything to do with him. She's almost 17 so just older and set in her ways 😊
My orange and white tabby kitten Spot is very clingy and affectionate - my calico kitten Patches is affectionate too,but not as much as Spot is.If I'm sitting in one of our chairs in the living room, the first one that will climb up on me is Spot.I said to my husband we should have named him Worf instead of Spot, because he loves to "Klingon" to me😂!
Jackson, I agree with you 100% about it being all about the individual. I too have had many many rescue cats, several of which were orange. Each one was as different as could be, but I loved them all! Have a great weekend, Cat Daddy!
I've never heard this meme before lol. My beautiful ginger girl Dot was so intelligent and highly self aware that she's ruined my average perception of cats lol. I miss her so much, she passed away in January this year and I'm still grieving. Honestly one in a million and 18 years together wasn't long enough, she will forever be in my heart.
I'm so very sorry for your loss! Having spent so much time together can become a double edged sword when experiencing the pain of such a loss. I never understood, "It is better to have loved and lost, etc...." until the loss of my beloved kitty. May the many loving memories get you through the especially dark times of grief. Sending you kind thoughts.
It is so true about them choosing you. My black cat chose me at a meet and greet. Hopped on my lap, put a paw on each of my shoulders and gazed into my eyes as I pet him. Needless to say, there was no way I was leaving without him!
Smartest cat I've ever had. Wrote down all the words he understand. Over 60. Smarter than any of the three husbands I had. One was a multi millionaire! Lol
What a weird stereotype! We have two orange boys, and one is literally brilliant--when my daughter leaves the house he brings her stuffed animals to his food/water bowls and angles them in head-first so they can "eat". The other is the best vocal communicator I've ever met in a cat. He'll greet me when I come home, jump up to whatever surface brings him closest to my face, and begin long conversations, adjusting the pitch of his meows and chirps to my voice as I respond. So I've always thought of them as "smart cats." I had no idea there was this popular perception of them as clumsy and inept...
That's one of the cutest cat stories I've ever heard!!! Thank you! 😊 I had a beige colored boy who was very smart too. He didn't like it when his dry food was spread all over his bowl, and he'd look up me, and I'd push it together for him. So I thought, let me show him how to do it. So, after that, he would take his little paw and pile the food together himself! 🐈😼
I adopted my beautiful girl yesterday and your content has been a tremendous help. She was so scared and trying to hide when we first brought her home, but within ten minutes of me slow blinking at her, doing the Michelangelo and offering her some treats, she was a whole different cat. She's purring, head butting, making biscuits and holding her tail high wherever she goes. It's only the second day but she has already shown that she loves me and she's scent marking me constantly. Thank you so much for everything you and your team do. I would have been lost without your help.
@@sarahlandis289 It's mentioned in a few of the videos, but it's just a name they came up with. Basically when you introduce yourself to a cat, instead of trying to pet them right away, you reach out one finger towards the cat's face and let them sniff it. Then if they want pets, they'll usually rub their face against your hand. 😊 That's how you know you're good to start petting!
My experience with orangies (as I call them) having volunteered in rescue, fostered, and had my own … most of the males have been laid back/friendly and very smart. The females have been either very spicy, or just like the males. In the end, you’re absolutely right. Every cat is an individual. What I always tell people is to go into a shelter and meet the cats. If you’re looking for a particular personality, then meet the cats who the staff recommend that might fit the bill. I tend to be drawn to male cats, though the few females I’ve had have been wonderful, mellow, affectionate cats. I have friends who are drawn to female cats for whatever reason. My #1 recommendation is this: if you’re looking for a particular personality, go for an adult cat, because their personalities are formed and you know what you’re getting. If you don’t care and just want to connect, then go with an open mind and meet ALL ages. Kittens are cute, but adults and seniors have SO MUCH to offer!
I want both an orange boy & a black boy…have neither. What I have is two girls who picked me as adults: an aggravating tortie who must have SOME Asian-talker in her gene pool. She’s so judgey and doesn’t shut-up!…but loyal-beyond-loyal for 14-years!!! Also a brown tabby who chose our porch after her family was evicted during the COVID-fallout, loves to lick us until she falls asleep, and feels like a chinchilla. She’s super-quiet, chirps & chatters like a bird. Agreed: two cats I’d NEVER have picked based on color but oh my goodness!…so happy each chose us!!
@@Laura-ed5kf I hear you. I’ve had tuxedo cats, orangies, brown tabbies, and grey cats. Never had one that was solid black. After my orange Maine Coon cross passed away in 2020, I was really missing the orange cat vibe (I adopted a fluffy tuxedo and already had a short hair grey and white boy). So when I had to retire my old guy from pet therapy, Istarted looking for a younger kitty who had the right temperament to continue the therapy work. I went to the shelter focused primarily on orange boys who were a minimum of two years (they can’t join the therapy program until they’re two). Ended up walking out with a seven month old black-brown tabby. I met him on a whim, not intending to adopt a young cat but just saying hi to his “pod” of 6-9 month olds. I ended up picking him up and knew immediately he was the one. You just can’t predict these things. I absolutely adore him and though he can’t be a pet therapist yet, I feel confident that he’ll be perfect at it when he’s old enough. And he’s been an amazing addition to my family!
Jackson…you are such a great advocate for cats. Thanks for your many years of good information and laughs! I’ve been living with cats non-stop for over 42 years and it has been pure joy. 🐱 💕
Wow a fellow cat person! Husband and I have had so many cats in 40 years all special all wonderful. All different. Usually had 2 to 4 at a time. And some lived outdoors never could tame about dozen or so. Right now 2 live upstairs and 2 in huge basement in our office. And one in attached garage with heat and his own a/c. What wonderful life it's been couldn't live without cats. Most came from streets or rescued or from people who could no longer care fro them. Found one at post office in old winter nite. One from Walmart parking lot. Some just show up, one at front door covered in oil took to vet covered him with mineral oil to rid car oil and he lived many years called him Slick 50 from a old TV commercial in 70s.
I cohabited with an orange dude for many years and I miss him a lot. He was courageous and made friends easily, but was also the smartest cat I’ve ever encountered. He had the power of analyzing a situation, acting effectively, and even communicating to make sure I understood what he was getting at. He also had some of the most uproarious workout sessions with a rubber band.
We had an orange tabby. He was anything but stupid but he didn’t always think things through. He was friendly and so loving. He was tolerant and nothing seemed to bother him. He was totally chill. In his latter days, he was deaf and blind. It never even phased him. He walked around the house like he could see. He was still a happy cat. Miss that guy.
That's the thing. My orange boy is a sweetheart but he is way too intelligent and that gets him in trouble. If he wants something, he will get it but then he doesn't know how to go back to the beginning.
Our sweet orange boy Maxwell was SO friendly!! Everyone in the neighborhood knew him😂 and loved him. He was the most cuddly, personable, and loving cat. He even walked with us when we walked the dogs. He succumbed to dermal cancer and we miss his precious soul every single day❤
Aw, the neighbor's orange cat always trails a few paces behind when she walks their two chihuahuas. I bet the pups are jealous; their kitty brother can wander through yards while the doggos are restrained by their leashes.
@@vickyschieman2694 That's so cute! Yes, I bet the pups are jealous! My Harry has to walk on a leash or he's zoom off and start a tiff with a neighbor cat, but he's such a great boy! Very friendly to people which my other kitties are pretty shy.
I love that you advocate for people to rescue! Thank you for doing that!!!! So many amazing cats and kittens in shelters just waiting and hoping for a loving home! 😻
Orange cats have huge hearts❤. They will go above and beyond for humans and cats they love. Their most common trait is bravery in my opinion and also friendliness 🥰
Just saved an orange cat from the street a week ago and my little guy is the most patient little thing. He is really friendly and puts up with his medication and treatments against his lice and worms like a champ. So so cute
My orange cat was part of an abandoned litter, and unfortunately apartment rules only allowed for one pet, or else I would have adopted two. He’s cuddly, sweet, takes his meds really well, and is super playful. He can be a brat at times, and is often quite feisty, but he’s my family. I hate leaving him at home when I need to work, and wish I could have gotten him a playmate.
Your wrap up about shelter cats: YES! I have the sweetest cat who has been such a comfort in tough times and is so intuitive who I got from a shelter. There was something magical about going there and hanging out with the cats and having this instant special connection with him. He definitely picked me, I accepted and it has been one of the best decisions of my life.
This was such a fun video. I rescued my first orange cat less than a year ago, and he's absolutely delightful. He's the most affectionate and smart cat I've ever met.
I have my first orange boy after a lifetime of every other cat color. He is the loviest, cuddliest, goofiest dude ever. I definitely understand why people adore them!
Longest relationship I had with a male was with my orange tomcat. He taught a dozen children how to be nice to animals. He played fetch and loved green olives. I had him for 20 years. That cat was smarter than most people I know, he was a lot more polite. I miss him.
My cat is black and not orange but he also loves to play fetch, his favorite toys are pipe cleaners! I'd never heard of a cat that fetches or comes when he's called.
During my life I have had all sorts of cats. By far the most smartest one was a lovely orange, called Sam. He was also super empathic, loyal and friendly (at least to me). He was my "cat soulmate", and even after more than eleven years, I still miss him every day...
My friend had an orange cat named Sam. We would smoke weed in his room but because we didn't want him to inhale smoke we'd never let him in while smoking. Any time someone would use the bathroom Sam would bolt into my friends room and roll around on his back like he knew he wasn't allowed in. I haven't spoken to that friend in a while but I still wonder how Sam's doing to this day, he was an amazing cat and was loads of fun to hangout with.
We have an orange tabby named Jasper, and he’s pretty much the stereotype, except he’s not exactly dumb. He definitely does riskier things, but he’s surprisingly clever & good at figuring things out. Makes him quite an unpredictable little guy xP
I think it's also important to remember that the stereotype of the orange cats sharing one braincell is meant in a very loving way.. mine is very loving and a great hunter but still a bit airheaded :D it's all just a good-hearted jest
I also got an orange cat named Jasper! He's our little goofball, always meowing at nothing and running around for no good reason. Thing about him though? He's gotta be one of the most loving cats I've ever had. He knows when I'm upset and does everything he can to cheer me up. He greets me when I come home and actually wakes me up if I sleep through my alarm. Only once before have I had a cat who actually tried to take care of me, so when people say they're friendly, they're right!
my Toby sounds exactly like Jasper. We walk them on a leash take them on Hikes and he is the first person to jump on a stranger like a dog. Puts his paws right on their thighs and wants to be pet. He does do some silly s*** loves to sit in the refrigerator love to eat snow and we'll get mad at me if I don't bring snow back in the house when I go outside on our porch
We lost our handsome orange boy Fiyero this year. He was quirky and sweet and seemed to talk to ghosts in the walls. I miss him sleeping with me every night. RIP Fiyero ❤
We just adopted two ginger boys - litter mates who were shelter-bound and needed a home (You DID say to get two) ... They are loving, fearless, cuddly, silly and quickly being accepted into the pride by our cat family. Its been the easiest adoption by far in terms of introducing them to our two older furbabies ... thanks in part to some advice we found here on this channel. Thanks for all you do.
My sister picked out Punkin at the pet store by listening for who was purring the loudest. Punkin was the sweetest, most affectionate cat I ever knew. She had long, gorgeous fur, and was a happy outdoor girl. (This was back in the 70s/80s, we didn’t know any better.) I’ve always wanted to meet another female orange cat, but still haven’t.
We picked up a pandemic/pregnancy 1yr old from the shelter that is a long hair orange female. She was there with her sister but she tolerated my son holding her so much better than our older two cats, so she ended up coming home with us. She's now more of a menace than the other two or the kids, but she can be sweet when she wants cuddles.
@@realfridgeI grew up with a female red tabby and a calico. The female red tabby was definitely smart, but also was territorial to cats outside the home. I remember a few instances when I was a kid she would growl at another cat. That was even the case when she first was introduced to a tuxedo cat we had and the calico at first. Yet now my folks have another female red tabby. Yet their cat is friendly and mischievous. Yesterday when my parents called me they informed me that their cat just learned how to turn on the kitchen faucet.
Our dude (Charlie) was a ball of fire. He started as a half-feral neighborhood bully tom, and mellowed into a cantankerous gentleman. He would often call to us from another room, and there was always sth he wanted us to notice or take action on: a package at the door, a full moon to admire. Smart, cranky, but also loving and cuddly when it struck him. I miss him every time I come home. He was always meowing at me through the window. 🧡 no one will ever replace him🧡
Jackson Galaxy's channel brings me so much joy. I loved the commitment to being British in the first few minutes of the video. Jackson isn't just a cat behavior specialist; he's a total entertainer. :) Keep it up, Jackson and team
We just lost our sweet orange cat 2 months ago. She screamed at us for 6 years, always being sure to speak to our hearts as well as ears. She is horribly missed.
I’m 1000% for letting your pet choose you. Both of my kitties picked me. Weasley saw me approach the cage he and another (older) kitten shared and threw his head into my hand when I held it out and instantly revved his purring motor. He then cried when I left (to fill out paperwork). My Ivy seemed to be waiting for me. She was in the cat room at the humane society, sitting in the window sill and as soon as the volunteer opened the door she turned her head, looked right at me and ran over to me, kept insisting I pet her and wouldn’t let any of the other cats come near.
While I agree, and my cat definitely found me, I will say that your description of Ivy reminded me of a cat I saw while volunteering at a shelter who would do that with every human who walked in. She would also sit on a poof in the middle of the room, and attack the tail of any cat that walked by. 😂 It was more about her letting all the cats in the room know that all the humans (and the high ground) were hers. It definitely got her adopted quickly though - she sat on one visitor's lap, and the rest was history. Her getting adopted left an opportunity for the other shyer cats to come out of their shells, because they just hid when she was ruling the roost.
Alexander was an alley cat and had been fighting with the other male cats. We got him neutered, as soon as we could, but not before he and the neighbors' male cat got into a fight and almost killed each other. They both needed medical care. They got their cat neutered, too. Both cats were aggressive with other cats even after getting fixed. Alex was very protective of us and a puppy we rescued. I still miss him.
Omg, my cat's name is Weasley too. I always wanted an orange and white male cat and to name him Weasley after my fav HP character, Ron. And I got him last April at 4.4 months old. He'll be a year and 8 months old tomorrow
Our two orange boys fit the stereotype. The older one, Rusty, is silly and his mood changes with the wind. The other, Bevo, is younger and has always been our "hold my beer cat", totally without fear, knows no boundaries, the first to befriend the big dogs, likes to play bowling ball to the chickens. (We have a big safe yard, safe mostly because of said big dog who is also Bevo's giant chew toy!) Bevo likes to play pranks on the other cats. Yes, he is our Dennis totally! We have lots of cats, all rescues. Thanks for the video.
I'm a new sub. My son and I rescued an orange kitten. They were from different litters. We both swear that there can't get a more lovable and sweet cat. Pure love and playfulness. He's best friends with my rescue dog and they sleep together. Love your videos and I'm learning a lot.
My kitty was an orange, black, white tortie! She passed last month tragically but she was wild, amazing and truly divine! I was so lucky and blessed to keep, care and learn from her! She lifted my spirits so much!! I gotta share more about her in video.. There’s no such thing as too many cat videos, right?! 💔
Sorry to hear about her passing, hope you okay. I myself lost the last one that lived with me and my family since I was a kid several months ago and it still gives me pangs, specially since I couldn’t be with him or my family at such time since I been living all the way across the globe for the past few years due to work.
We had a female orange and she was not friendly at all. In fact, she was my first cat and set the tone for my relationship to cats today, which has not been positive. Today I own Huckleberry, a grey striped tabby male, who is helping me love cats again. He is the best.
See I had something like this happen only it was with dogs. Used to absolutely love dogs, until I had some bad run-ins with some of the nastiest, misbehaving, ill-mannered, untrained dogs I've ever seen in my life and it highlighted all the awful aspects of dogs. Loud, smelly, drooly, space-invading, needy, jumping, misbehaving (like jettisoning out the front door to 'run off' and be a pain in the arse to catch; spoiler alert, one was a Husky) I am now trying my best to get used to dogs again, to get that love for them back. But oh...ohhhh it's so hard. I've come to the conclusion that I am simply not a dog person, but I want to learn to appreciate them again. Any suggestions anyone?
@@MimaLdn I had no idea that was the case. She was abused as a kitten and my brother rescued her out of a nasty situation, so I think she never really trusted humans, understandably so. He gave her a long and beautiful life, but she was never friendly.
Same! An orange cat from a neighbor got out of his house and attacked two cats that were friendly. Tabby cats are the ones that I have met that are friendly with everyone, even with a dog!
My orange tabby is a girl and a total B. I love her to death but I also know to just leave her alone. She constantly chooses violence. Not to mention my husky is scared of her lol
My father had a orange lady named Mitsi. He had her for 28 years and I grew up with her. So smart, so kind and my dad saved her from getting killed by his terrible neighbor. She was seriously the best little ball of life that graced all of us in our family. The day she left us was a large hole. Not a day we don’t think about her and the memories we all had. Nicest cat, beautiful soul, we were so lucky to have her. Now male orange cats on the other hand LOL they are little goofballs and I love it. Mitsi is the reason my dad met my mother, she got out and he was running after her and Mitsi ran to my mom and snuggled on her. And history is from there. My mother has stories where she wasn’t allowed in the crib but she would put her paw through to have her paw on me, anytime I played Mitsi sat with me or joined in, she also also sat with me while I watched films or played games. Seriously she was something else and was kicking it for so many years. I was convinced at one point she was immortal.
@@dianebannister4591 Nope! While having a certain breed may increase the chances, it’s mostly because of how the cat has been raised, treated, and cared for. A cat living well after 20 years is a cat who is cared for exceptionally well.
I've had a few orange cats. The last one, Gorky, was nuts. A total sweetheart and my very best friend, but nuttier than a jar of Planters. And yes, found him on the top shelf in my hall closet with the door closed more than a few times. He stalked air, a lot. I miss him.
My cat Littlefoot was an orange fluff ball, and I love and miss him every day! He was my friend and protector. I was afraid of the dark as a kid, and if I became afraid, I would call him. When I heard his footsteps on the wooden floor, it was like him yelling, "I'm on my way Jonny!!!" Gone almost 20 years. Still love him.
The only orange cat I have ever owned alerted me to prowlers outside our house, she woke me up by running up and down the bed until I woke up to find her looking towards the window with her ears pointing in that direction. She was my hero! Agree with you Jackson that people are just generalising. Every cat acts weird sometimes 😂
That's terrifying!!! Wow, you're lucky!! The cat I had growing up used to growl at strangers who walked by the window 😂 lol instead of a dog that barks at the mailman, we had a protective cat! Still in shock about your story!
I had an orange female as my first cat, and I haven’t had such an affectionate cat since then. She followed me everywhere inside, outside, she was so attached and loving. Never finicky or temperamental. She was always just a little ball of love.
Yes!! My friend rescued a 3-legged orange male cat. He was the friendliest, sweetest baby with the loudest purr. We loved him sooooo much!!!! He was PURE LOVE!!! 🧡🧡🧡
Our orange girl fits most of the orange cat behavior stereotypes. She flips from being so smart to so dumb... SO FAST lol. We wouldn't trade her for the world. 🧡🧡
Our orange fits all the stereotypes - but I wouldn't have him any other way! We didn't even know there was a stereotype for orange cats until after we found him and began questioning his behavior 😂 And we loved the education provided in this video, thank you!
My orange girl is the absolute sweetest cat ever. She's so polite! If I forget her 6pm dinner by 5 minutes, she's not yelling at me, she comes up to me, and politely puts her paw on my shoulder. As soon as she does that, I'm like "Oh, baby, I'm so sorry, I'm late aren't I?" She is the sweetest cat ever. Also, I would say my tortie does not have much tortitude, she's a little more rambunctious, but still just an absolute sweetheart.
The orange ones that I had that were female were not at all mischievous. It's the boys that are more so. lol I miss all my cats that have passed. Cats have short lives.
new grown up family sitcom cartoon: "Hey Tortie! Tortie, look what I bought." "I swear to god, Orange if it is another roo" "IT'S ANOTHER ROOMBA" *laugh track*
Your last part is absolutely right! I had my heart set on getting a tortie as my first personal cat after loving my childhood tortie so much. But I saw this tuxedo in the local paper and my heart melted, and now we’re soulmates! And we just got a second cat and she’s still not a tortie, she’s a Siamese 😂 the most important thing is loving the cat who needs you. ❤
Torties rock they definitely have their own personality that doesn’t compare to any other kind of not necessarily breed but markings because tortoise shells are not a breed they must be or they should be because they are divas big time
We adopted and elderly Torty, and she was the sweetest thing! We only ever saw the "tortitude" when she went outside, we called it "outside-cat mode" 😂 Miss our sweet old lady ❤
I'm 30 and just got my first cat, a male orange tabby. I don't know how to describe it but I feel such a bond with him I've never felt even with dogs (self-admitted dog person). He sleeps on my bed every night and kneads my chest and is just a blessing to be around. He climbed up my screen and jumped out my 1st story window and hurt his paw as a kitten and has gone missing 3 times. But even though he's a tad reckless he's the biggest sweetheart in the world and I do everything in my power to keep him safe! I love you Calcifer.
An orange cat accompanied me 17 years of my life. I got him from an animal shelter and the first night he stayed with me he was so thankful and happy. He went to bed when I did and got up when I did. When I laid down on the sofa, he was on my lap. My best friend for 17 years. But even when he was old he still was the boss and scared other cats away around our house. I still miss him.
Our orange cat was bold and friendly and feisty. He was born in a horse barn, and traveled with us to two different houses. He played fetch with yarn balls. He did get locked in the neighbor’s house and climbed up a tree and got stuck. He never made the same mistake twice, though, so he wasn’t dumb. He lived a very long life in spite of being an outdoor cat. He is missed.
I adopted two little brothers almost six years ago now, im happy about it every day. Seeing them grow up together and be cats together and the way they express their love is so precious. I love loving cats
My orange cat is sooo high maintenance! He also loves bringing me things, announcing it with loud, muffled meows…even if it’s at 3 in the morning! But I love him dearly!!
I had an office cat Rocky. Stood outside the door and greeted all my pediatric patients. He had a little cat house and his bowl. Everyone knew him. People would holler "Hey Rocky" bec his name is on the house and he was constantly at the door. Just to say hello and get pets and love. He was cockeyed. A dilute orange. The best ambassador of catdom. R.I.P. Rocky.
My baby. 😭 I only had him for 3 years. Lost him to undiagnosed kidney disease in March this year. We were back and forth at the vets for over 6 months as he was being treated for blockage. Those last months had been painful for him. I'm still heartbroken over his last week with me. But he was my shadow since we rescued him as a kitten. He was hilarious-the portrait of an orange cat. He and my mom were archnemeses. He and his older brother received the same amount of love, but he played the favorite boy really well. He used to keep playfully taunting his brother, and our older cat was very, very patient with him. We still miss him a lot. We miss him going at our tissue rolls. He certainly made our home more colorful. Our older cat, Ziggy, now relishes being an only child, ofc. But Anya, our orange baby, he's still remembered when we close the bathroom door and no one tries to break it from below. 😔
My orange male adopted me. Buddy is about 2yrs old and is very smart. Still skidding, but knows the bed is a safe zone. He always has to have a paw on me, looks at me directly in the eyes and wins the staring contest. I have had many orange cats throughout my life, and he is the most unique of all my cats, think he was a dog in another life.
Hey Jackson. I'm 34, and have had cats since I was 7 years old - mostly strays and ferals that I've raised from all age groups (newborns to elderly). I currently have a grey tuxedo short-haired female, and a long-haired orange male. I've had MANY a cat in my life and of many colour variations: torties, brindles, monochrome, tuxedos.., long and short-haired. I can attest that my experience breaks down as such... Males tend to be more cuddly and dependent, benefitting far greater from interaction and dog-like training regimens; whereas females tend to be more independent and aloof (less trusting). Both benefit from your patented "hunt, catch, kill" techniques, but in my experience, males tended to be the ones that I could train to fetch slippers and turn off light switches. So regardless of colour patterns, males seem to be more dog-like in their trainability. Now, when it comes to colours I can only go off my +25 years of experience (which isn't much), and confirm that some stereotypes have a foundation of truth. Orange cats have a childlike innocence in their approach to experiences. This does not make them dumb, but rather endearing to watch interact with their world. Their bright coats mean that they can't camouflage as effectively as some other, darker coats. So when training my boy "Buddy" to walk with me in the trails, he had to jump up onto my backpack when dogs and their owners approached us; whereas my grey cat, also named Buddy, could hide in a bush and catch up with me once the path was clear. Both cats would play hide and seek, both loved to spend hours cuddling and nap at my sides. But when we went out, the orange cats that I've owned tended to be tree-dwellers, hiding in the canopies until a potential threat passed; whereas my greys and browns were groundlings, preferring bushes and patios as their hiding places. Does that make them derpy, or aware that they stick out visually among the top soil and mulch of garden beds compared to brown and grey cats? With my walking stick technique, I'd tap 2 twice and shout, "dog coming, go hide" and they knew where to go to best blend in with their surroundings, regardless of coat colours. Then another 3 taps, and a "it's good, their gone" and they'd come running back to me.
My cats had kittens about 6 months ago, out of all the kittens I chose to keep the little orange one. He has became the most affectionate cuddly kitty I have.
I immediately connected with a calico from a rescue but she was only allowed to be adopted with one other cat (they were worried she wouldn’t do well as the only cat in the home) so I also rescued her sister, a super soft orange cat! Our orange cat falls into the genius Dennis the Menace category (cat-egory!). She is so smart, fearless, and strong! She knows how to open cabinets and get to any surface in the house. She’s not scared of our dog and is a great hunter too. Our calico is very docile, gentle, cautious, and talkative. She’s also the bigger cat weight-wise (although the extra fluff on the orange cat makes her look bigger). I love them both very much! Although most of the family is very annoyed with our orange cat since she has destroyed so many headphone cables, power cables, and a few kids toys 😅 Not sure why I felt the need to share this but there you go ❤ hope you have a lovely day!
I had never heard of 'orange cat behavior' until the yt algorithm popped up this video. Coincidentally, I just adopted an orange cat (a female) from a shelter and she's not the least bit derpy. She's affectionate with me and (so far) very spooked by Leo, my other cat. I'm currently using your method of acclimating them to each other. Wish me luck!
My favourite orange internet cats are Haku and Nagi from Rachel and Jun's channel. They're the sweetest boys and they're so calm and well-behaved. They trained them to not reach for food when they prepare it in front of them. They get to sniff and be curious but they'll never intervene in the cooking process. They'll cook cat-friendly dishes for them too and it's so cute. They're really great parents to all their fur babies and the neighbourhood strays. Really miss my own orange cats. Picked up one of them as a stray because we thought he was our orange cat we had already. He was right outside the house and they looked pretty similar. Put out posters and no one claimed him so we kept him. So Rolo got a new brother with Mittens. They definitely fit the stereotype of dumb and friendly. Mittens was a little more claws out from being a stray but he calmed down and became the loudest purr machine.
Love Rachel & Jun! The way Jun takes them on bike rides and walks is amazing. One of my favorites was when Jun took one of them on a walk along the beach to look for driftwood. It's been a while since I watched, so thanks for the reminder! 🧡😸
Not related to orange cats but I had to comment and say you are the first person in everyday life to use the term 'collective unconscious' instead of 'subconscious' which was picked up by the mainstream but only very briefly used in psychoanalysis. Plus the term 'collective unconscious' is Jungian so thank you, Jackson! Love your work.
We are owed 😂 by an Orange cat... I'm glad you're talking about this. Our boy is smart, friendly, and very loving. Although. He can also be a little crazy. With, Zummy, attacking his tail or just walking around the house calling for us. When we're right here, dude. We love him so much.❤ God bless..
How old is your cat? Because if they’re going around the house calling out for you, chances are they have entered the stage of dementia. I’ve got one who does the same thing and she’s 16 years old.
We have a dog, too. They get along really well. But I'm working on it. We live in a very small house, and we are getting older. But I believe we will be chosen when the time is right. I've always been chosen by our cats and dogs. I just go sit and see who picks me. 😻
I’ve owned 2 orange cats and both were very smarts. The first one, Prozack was playful and loved to prank us. Beau we got a year after Zack passed away and is with us now. He’s very nervous but very kind & sweet. He was very playful and easy going with other cats.
My childhood orange cat, Leo, was a very friendly and talkative guy, but was more like a dog. He would follow us around the house and inspect any visitors to the house. He was also very aware of my feelings and would sit with me when I would cry. He was also quite vain. He would strut around the house when we put little capes or bandanas on him and would get upset if we took them off!
Our orange rescue was the sweetest little derp, always a ray of sunshine. We had 5 years with him before sickness took him away and I still miss him dearly - he was so affectionate. I won't lie, I can't stop hoping to find another one every day, simply because this experience with him was so amazing.
Our orange cat, Oats, was a stray who wandered up to my brother outside of a church. We think she might have been abandoned there since she took to him immediately and let him put her in his jacket for warmth. I came to pick her up and I nursed her back to health. She wouldn't eat solid food so I was feeding her puree pouch treats several times a day until she was healthy enough to try something solid. At first I thought I was lucky, I thought orange tabbies were stupid so she wouldn't get into too much trouble. Hoo boy has that changed. She tries to steal the hair ties out of ponytails and has figured out how to use her polydactyl thumbs to grab some things. She's a downright menace but we love her. She's also incredibly friendly and affectionate, like more than any other cat I've had including the male orange tabby from my childhood.
I grew up with a very sweet old orange cat called Tiggy, she was very lazy just enjoyed the simple pleasures of life: sitting on the boiler cupboard and purring at the wall and only leaving that spot to get pets and food. As an adult I rescued an elderly orange male named Oscar who only ever wanted to be making biscuits in someone's lap. I miss them both dearly. They may not have had many thoughts in their little brains but they were wonderful cats.
We have a male orange cat from a rescue. He’s so affectionate and loves being pet. He’s completely non-destructive, somewhat food motivated and loves to play with any cat toy. We’re so grateful to have him in our lives. 🐈
I have enjoyed myself so much since the last lockdown's end, adopting an orange stray cat ! He's so clever, affectionate and playful. I love him so much, and so does my 23 years old son !
My orange cat Abooksigun is the only cat I've been able to train. Hes been giving me high fives for the last 9 years! He's really strange with how he sits, similar to bill the cat. He's a quirky, sometimes spaced out and wild, but very sweet and brilliant boy. I know of other cats who aren't orange that have the same strange behaviors as the orange cat stereotypes people talk about. I really like how you addressed the orange cat in this video! Thank you Jackson Galaxy!!!!!!!!!!
Eyy my cat is like this! Although he is all black. He is smart as a whip but also a complete goofball…an utter *diva* but also the cuddliest/friendliest cat in the world. 😻
Had never heard about this before. I fell in love with an orange cat who sadly is no longer with us: Street cat Bob, from London UK. What an amazing and intelligent cat he was and what a legacy he left. You always have the perfect words to talk about cats and it warms my heart every time you say how to rescue them, be with them, to let them be with us, choose us etc like at the end of this video.Thank you dear Jackson 💛🙏💛
When you adpot a orange there's a 50/50 chance of either being the sweetest and friendliest cat you ever had or a actual insane creature (And both are wins on my eyes)
I had an orange cat for 19 years and he was my best friend through thick and thin. I miss him often. He was so strong, brave, loyal, and loving. I was lucky to have known him.
I'm currently fostering a mom cat who had her babies here (so I'm fostering them too). Mom is orange, obviously a dumped pet and very shy. The kittens are three male orange cats ranging from pale to bullseye tabby red and one female calico. They are unlike any litter I've fostered before. Personable, interested in people, got my resident cats to like them, smart, sweet. The people who get to adopt these babies and mom are going to be so lucky

Could you make ä video about tuxies if you haven't already? I would love to see it
I got my orange boy because my Siamese needed a friend.
Orange boy and Siamese girl became instant friends 😊
Our wild little tabby never did warm up to either of them despite all our efforts and patience.
We have two torties and one is great and the other is insane.
Best cat ever.
pshhh and people say cats are worse than dogs!
He was keeping the single brain cell all to himself, in order to shape you into a good person
@@kwingleyeah i bet there were many dogs just like the person here described but just because some few pets are better doesnt mean it becomes better. For example if there were dolphins much smarter than humans would it mean that dolphins are smarter than humans?
@@TheMinkaGod what.. i was just making a generalized point that cats aren’t inherently worse than dogs
whatre u yappin about
I love it!! 💯 I have an orange cat that is crazy smart as well. The internet's 'one brain cell' shtick is BS.
My orange cat is literally Garfield. He's not stupid, just extremely lazy. But because he's so incredibly food motivated, we were able to teach him a few tricks.
Mine is even more food motivated than I am, which is a serious accomplishment!
My dad's orange cat isn't lazy, but he is super mellow. Nothing bothers him, except people touching his tail. He REALLY hates that
Get a giant hamster wheel, attach a generator, and put some treats on it that drop when the cat is running
She*
my edsi also just sleeps all day. super chill
😢
This comment deserves many more likes and replies than it has. I lost my kitty along with my dog in September of last year, I got her when I was 8 years old and now I’m 27, so I completely understand why those memories you mentioned are important. Reading about how your precious one used to walk your dad home moved me so much it brought me to tears. Such a lovely story ❤
on r/oneorangebraincell we dont push that all ornage cats are dumb, we even have a flair for smart orange cats, idk abt other platforms though
I had the best cat ever❤ my reggae my orange cat
My orange cat is a door buster too.🌺
I’m enjoying my third orange tabby female. She’s 4 months old and her personality is that of a clown.
We put in a kitty door for ours...instant success
lol i have her brothers........soooo much personality
Mine , the Ginger private investigator chews on everything, have to lock everything down. She is a cat dog likes to chase after balls and jumps on high China cabinets.
Omg...my orange cat does a lot of that stuff!! But I didn't know how long my comment could be. Lol
Don't forget Jorts is also a union cat! He may not know how doors work, but he understands workers' rights :)
My upstairs neighbor has an orange lad who is TINY, and whenever I go up to visit, he LAUNCHES himself into my arms. Definitely very friendly!
Solidarity forever.
I: A union cat? That's amazing ^^ Solidarity
@begrackled - noooo, you missed the chance! It's "solidarity furrreverr!"
And he’s not ableist just for telling able bodied people to get their own groceries
If anything....that might be still be orange cat behavior in how odd it he is lol.
22?! That's my age what the hell?! 😭
Definitely an old soul. Bless him ❤
My orange cat lived for 19yrs and 10months, he was the most laid-back, friendly, intelligent buddy I could have ever hoped to have. And I got to live with him for 20 years! I miss you, Biscuit, you were a real one.
That's amazing!
Same here with mine who will be 16 in August. My big baby. My partner of love and companionship. He's the best with gorgeous hazel eyes. I don't want to lose him ever! Sorry for your loss. Be well.
he was ancient!! i had a cat that lived til 17
Biscuit 🥹 I love his name
My orange coon is the same way. Only cat that might give him a run for the intelligence meter is my black cat. They both learn pretty easy compared to the other 4 lol
The Jorts and Jean thing is partly a phenomenon because it's about critters with different personalities and needs helping each other and being friends. They are working cats, acting like mascots and helping visitors and employees relax. Where Jean rescues Jorts from closets and trash cans, Jorts rescues Jean from big meetings and loud noises. And there's no judgment in that symbiotic relationship. It's so WHOLESOME.
Can we still judge Pam, though, for the butter?
@@Jayalaw Pam's intentions were good. She was genuinely trying to improve the cats' quality of life, and she's realized it was unfair to them to do the things she did. Personally, I try not to judge her too harshly. That said, she used margarine instead of butter without checking if margarine is safe for cats (it emphatically is not), so... yes. Pam can have little a judgment. As a treat.

Beautifully said, Jackson. It’s not the colour of the cat, it’s the CONNECTION and the LOVE. Rescue, rescue, RESCUE!!!
Thank you for giving Sunshine a long life full of love. Glad he sent you a kitten to keep you company ❤
Just lost my orange guy a little before the 4th of July. He was the sweetest, smartest, lovingest, who thought he was a human...greeted people like a puppy and always wanted to make friends with any living being. He is greatly missed. R.I.P Wynn.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Wynn sounds amazing and I’m sure he lived his best nine lives with you. RIP Wynn.
Condolences 🧡
God comfort you in your loss
So sorry for your loss. Wynn sounds a lot like my Lil' Carrot, he must have enriched your life so much 🐈🌈
I lost my orange kitty on the 5th of July! I'm still heartbroken, he was truly the coolest cat I ever had!
I had an orange cat for 17 years. he was never dumb. friendly, cuddly, playful, very loving. never stupid. ♡
He's hogging the braincell.
Yeah, my "orange" cat is neither friendly nor dumb. He is very mischeivious though... We always said he was a cat troll.
My partners cat ... lovely lovely ginger boy
But will lick you non stop
Trip on himself and meow outside for the door to be opened...... even though it is open
Lovely guy though just very very .... dopey
He even trips on the door frame coming in or just over his own foot
I've had my little orange boy for a few months now and he is 50% snuggly sleepyhead and 50% crazy, running across the house then running back and fighting your hand to the death XD
And I love him so much
❤❤❤❤❤
I like the “friendly tough guy” description, so accurate for mine too😁
I love my orange but he definitely has.... Quirks. Jackson's advice helped me when he was a kitten. He wouldn't use the litter box and kept pooping behind my computer. Want to know how I fixed it? I put a litter box behind my computer. Ta da! Thank you Jackson for teaching me to listen to my cats! ❤
Clever!
Sounds like he’ll go out old, safe, and happy.
@@gnarthdarkanen7464what were you feeding those cats??
@@vickypedia1308 Lucky enough Jody (THE King) was pretty avid about feeding himself... though the local rabbit population, squirrel population, and even the ground hog (gopher) population took pretty solid hits in the territory for that decade and a half or so...
Sadji'... Well, beyond my contribution of 5 pounds a week, he was a community cat through the building... and I know for a fact he ate regularly enough at 6 other households... He wasn't exactly scrawny... but he wasn't an unhealthy degree of fat for a cat, either... plenty active and all... just not quite the outdoorsy "mayhem incarnate" of THE King... ;o)
The smartest beings are always the ones that have/had higher chance of random gene mutation.
That sounds very much like my orange boy!
I have 2 orange males. Both are neutered, but sadly, they don't get along. They are both adorable, crazy and affectionate!
Why did this post make me cry 😂❤ so cute
My orange and white tabby kitten Spot is very clingy and affectionate - my calico kitten Patches is affectionate too,but not as much as Spot is.If I'm sitting in one of our chairs in the living room, the first one that will climb up on me is Spot.I said to my husband we should have named him Worf instead of Spot, because he loves to "Klingon" to me😂!
Jackson, I agree with you 100% about it being all about the individual. I too have had many many rescue cats, several of which were orange. Each one was as different as could be, but I loved them all! Have a great weekend, Cat Daddy!
Hey there I’m really impressed with your comment, please if you don’t mind me asking where are you from?
I've never heard this meme before lol. My beautiful ginger girl Dot was so intelligent and highly self aware that she's ruined my average perception of cats lol. I miss her so much, she passed away in January this year and I'm still grieving. Honestly one in a million and 18 years together wasn't long enough, she will forever be in my heart.
Maybe smart orange cats are rare. You must've been lucky.
A girl tabby is a rare breed that nice...
It is so true about them choosing you. My black cat chose me at a meet and greet. Hopped on my lap, put a paw on each of my shoulders and gazed into my eyes as I pet him. Needless to say, there was no way I was leaving without him!
Every orange cat I have ever owned has been so loving and friendly and just a little bit special
Smartest cat I've ever had. Wrote down all the words he understand. Over 60. Smarter than any of the three husbands I had. One was a multi millionaire! Lol
😹😹 I mean, believable, but still hilarious
I love it!!! 😂😂😂
Of course he was smarter than the multimillionaire, duh!
Yeah
I can see that from the walls
I do not doubt this at all 😅
What a weird stereotype!
What's the Michelangelo? I don't know if I saw that video
I comepletely agree! Jackson has been so dedicated and informative about cats since I can remember!
thank you - truly means a lot. I advocate for you, too!
I had about the same experience with both of the orange males I’ve had. So chill, every animal, as well as every person, loved them to pieces.
Hey there I’m really impressed with your comment, please if you don’t mind me asking where are you from?
That's the thing. My orange boy is a sweetheart but he is way too intelligent and that gets him in trouble. If he wants something, he will get it but then he doesn't know how to go back to the beginning.
you were a great cat mommy
@@missyscastle Thank you.
Our sweet orange boy Maxwell was SO friendly!! Everyone in the neighborhood knew him😂 and loved him. He was the most cuddly, personable, and loving cat. He even walked with us when we walked the dogs. He succumbed to dermal cancer and we miss his precious soul every single day❤
My orange guy Harry also walks on a leash with me like a dog! People that see us in the neighborhood are so weirded out and so charmed by that!

Our Maxwell was a rescue and the most loving cat we've ever been honored to pawrent❤😢❤
I hate leaving him at home when I need to work, and wish I could have gotten him a playmate.
the cat distribution network provides!
When I went back to pick him up, he immediately jumped into the carrier as if he was saying, "let's go home, mom."
Perfect sentiment at the end there!
The best cats- no, the best pets, are the ones who pick you.
Longest relationship I had with a male was with my orange tomcat. He taught a dozen children how to be nice to animals. He played fetch and loved green olives. I had him for 20 years. That cat was smarter than most people I know, he was a lot more polite. I miss him.
Sorry for your loss. He sounds wonderful 💜💜💜

I had an orange cat named Sam too!!!
So sorry you lost him.
(This was back in the 70s/80s, we didn’t know any better.) I’ve always wanted to meet another female orange cat, but still haven’t.
i heard something about 80% of orange cats being male? that may be the reason why you haven’t crossed paths with another female orange cat
@@realfridge I'd assume they're already aware of that fact...
My fluffy orange boy is named Punkin, too. Very energetic and cuddly, when he stops running.
I bet. I’m so sorry 😢
My orange cat, Alexander, came into my back yard and adopted my boyfriend and I. This was back in the 90's.
When a cat approaches me on the street, it’s coming home with me
Our two orange boys fit the stereotype.
Haha mine does too, he's a very goofy boy!
😪
We had a female orange and she was not friendly at all. In fact, she was my first cat and set the tone for my relationship to cats today, which has not been positive. Today I own Huckleberry, a grey striped tabby male, who is helping me love cats again. He is the best.
See I had something like this happen only it was with dogs. Used to absolutely love dogs, until I had some bad run-ins with some of the nastiest, misbehaving, ill-mannered, untrained dogs I've ever seen in my life and it highlighted all the awful aspects of dogs. Loud, smelly, drooly, space-invading, needy, jumping, misbehaving (like jettisoning out the front door to 'run off' and be a pain in the arse to catch; spoiler alert, one was a Husky)
I am now trying my best to get used to dogs again, to get that love for them back.
That makes me laugh cause my grey tabby female is not friendly at all. Maybe, the boy orange cats and greys are friendlier? 😂
Your dad's cat lived 28 years?! I never heard of a cat living that long.
@@dianebannister4591 The oldest cat lived well into their thirties. 28 is still old, but it isn’t the oldest they can get.
@@WarriorLionstripe WOW! I never heard of any cat living into its 30s. Is it a certain breed that has longevity like that?
@@dianebannister4591 Nope! While having a certain breed may increase the chances, it’s mostly because of how the cat has been raised, treated, and cared for. A cat living well after 20 years is a cat who is cared for exceptionally well.
@@WarriorLionstripe Thank you for the information.
I bet he’s still looking out for you ❤
Littlefoot!!! Great name.
The only cats that are wierd are the ones that aren't wierd...
That's terrifying!!! Wow, you're lucky!! The cat I had growing up used to growl at strangers who walked by the window 😂 lol instead of a dog that barks at the mailman, we had a protective cat!
Still in shock about your story!
@@Bananaterricottapie ikr - with the cats I have now, if they are listening to something I can’t hear and they look worried- I check it out.
Yup! 😂
same! i never understood the memes until i got my own orange cat and she is sooo different than any other cat I have ever had lol. Love her to pieces
Our orange fits all the stereotypes - but I wouldn't have him any other way! We didn't even know there was a stereotype for orange cats until after we found him and began questioning his behavior 😂
And we loved the education provided in this video, thank you!
Cats have short lives.
new grown up family sitcom cartoon:
"Hey Tortie! Tortie, look what I bought."
"I swear to god, Orange if it is another roo"
"IT'S ANOTHER ROOMBA"
*laugh track*
We only ever saw the "tortitude" when she went outside, we called it "outside-cat mode" 😂
Miss our sweet old lady ❤
My orange boy was the absolute light of our lives and touched the heart of so many. 🧡
I concur. My orange cat is bold, friend feisty. And will play fetch sometimes. He demands loving sometimes but is very smart.
@danymilll707 Why are you asking to ask? If you're asking a question, you can and you will and you just did.
Orange cat behavior is a whole situation I never understood until I got a pair
Hey there I’m really impressed with your comment, please if you don’t mind me asking where are you from?
You'd make a great neighbor here! Cat stampede!
My cats had kittens about 6 months ago, out of all the kittens I chose to keep the little orange one. He has became the most affectionate cuddly kitty I have.
Hopefully everyone got fixed after that
Orange kitties are wonderful😍
Although most of the family is very annoyed with our orange cat since she has destroyed so many headphone cables, power cables, and a few kids toys 😅
Not sure why I felt the need to share this but there you go ❤ hope you have a lovely day!
Sharing tales of love is always good. Thanks for taking them both into your life.
We had a stray orange cat come live with us, which we named Velociraptor, as you can guess he was an amazing hunter. He was one of a kind.
We love him so much.❤
God bless..
How old is your cat? Because if they’re going around the house calling out for you, chances are they have entered the stage of dementia. I’ve got one who does the same thing and she’s 16 years old.
@@dcwatashi
He's just turned 9. But he's been doing that since we lost our older cat. Think he misses her so times.😥
@@lizklinker8833 that could be, however, dementia doesn’t always wait until they are older. Can you adopt another cat to keep him company?
We have a dog, too. They get along really well. But I'm working on it. We live in a very small house, and we are getting older. But I believe we will be chosen when the time is right. I've always been chosen by our cats and dogs. I just go sit and see who picks me. 😻
@@lizklinker8833Aw. Try getting him an orphaned kitten. Male cats can make great dads to kittens.
I'd love to see the behavior of a cat who is upset about someone removing it's clothes
Your female orange is a genetic wonder just so you know, that's a rarity. Usually the orange gene only produces males❤️
My cat has red hair, just like my sister! He is my Viking Kitty!
It took my third ginger to realize just how specific to gingers the behaviors are.
We have a male orange cat from a rescue. He’s so affectionate and loves being pet. He’s completely non-destructive, somewhat food motivated and loves to play with any cat toy. We’re so grateful to have him in our lives. 🐈
Awesome! 🥰

I've had every color cat, now i have two orange resuce kittys. I so love them ❤
I'm currently fostering a mom cat who had her babies here (so I'm fostering them too).
