DLCs definitely. Disagree with remakes though, as they can be completely different from the original game. Especially a game like FF7 Rebirth is a completely new game.
Expansions are already at an inherent disadvantage. I say if one is genuinely good enough to complete with full games the it deserves to be recognized. Remakes too. Dead space remake for example is so improved it’s basically a different game. What doesn’t deserve to qualify is remasters. They don’t cut it.

The event brings out people to reflect on the year and their most valuable memories in the gaming space. Wether the awards themselves are corporate, doesn't stop us from discussing how we judge the art presented ourselves and compare with other communities. That's my take on it. I'm happy enough when developers I respect get attention and acclaim for their work. Gives newcomers a chance to be exposed to less known works, like some Indie games.

I mean both systems are bad honestly. If fans voting play a major role then favoritism can impact who win meaning that, say for example the FF7 fanbase is huge so them out voting something like Meta for example.

It's not. Majority of players only play a few new games a year. I myself haven't played a single game that came out this year. Why should my vote matter more than that of journalists who play games for a living? Gamer votes should not matter at all IMO.

Rebirth is kinda its own game so I don’t fully agree with this but the Erdtree being a nominee leaves a bad taste in my mouth when so many full on games could have gotten its slot.
DLCs yes, but remakes are a new thing. They're completely new games from its original version and more people would rather play the remakes than their original versions.

P3Rs soundtrack is worse than the original P3 so it's no surprise it wasn't nominated. The new singer they got for P3R just does not hit as well as the original singer for FES and Portable. No way Space marine 2 isn't nominated in best community support but helldivers is. SM2 devs were constantly listening to the community, adjusting the game (in good ways) and fixing bugs.

I haven't yet completed Metaphor but I have really enjoyed the battle music. I'd like to hear Aerith's theme with female vocalists.. that version of the song near the end game made me quite emotional

I'd say FF7: Rebirth is an alright option to be there. Its different enough from the original's narrative to warrant it. Silent Hill 2 though, yeah, I understand.
FF7Rebirth is continuation from the OG FF7 and had really good narrative, so I personally give it a pass. But Silent hill 2, that we can agree.

They should increase the number of nominations in a category. Add a DLC category. Separate racing from sports.

DLC being nominated is a joke, but honestly the fact multiversus won while it was in beta and then got nominated again is an equally as massive insult, other fighting games deserved that spot more than multiversus
