I had a good experience with my 14900KS. PC Specks are Z790 Apex, GSkill 8000 Ram, Arctic liquid Freezer II 420mm AIO, 4090 GPU. No overclock, just XMP for the memory. 5.9ghz on all P Cores and 4.5ghz on the E Cores. Core Voltage 1.36, Package Temps in the low 70s. Cenebench scores mid 39,000 range. Then used the AI overclock Tool in the Bios. 3ea P-cores were at 6.2mhz and the rest at 5.9. E-cores stayed at 4.5. Cenebench scores were over 40,000 for 4 runs until my AIO became saturated with heat. Package temps during Gaming were in the high 70s for all COD Games. Core voltage though was around 1.4 to 1.5 and the wattage on the CPU was around 250 to 270. This 420mm Aio cooler is keeping this chip cool enough to game without any crashes except when I push the GPU to its maximum. I'm also using (6ea) 140mm fans on it in a push pull configuration and ramping them up. I put everything back to stock at 5.9 and 4.5 on the cores to just run it cooler and I'm getting good temps and no crashes, and the FPS are around 450 at 1440P. I'm Happy I made the purchase. Love the channel, keep it coming.
My 14900KS boosts to 6.2ghz out of the box is that not what it does for everyone? The only thing I've touched in the bios is the XMP and fan curves. The Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Pro X defaults to the Extreme profile. I even flashed the July BIOS update and applied defaults, previous bios was the 2023 version. I've never had any crashes in any games and it's been incredibly stable. I have a 360mm AIO and I'm sitting at 55-60c in Dragon's Dogma 2. I feel like I'm doing something wrong or not actually boosting or pushing the CPU to the limits like everyone else that has stability issues. I guess the only difference is it doesn’t void the warranty to de-lid it. Which kind of makes me wonder why they weren’t shipped with no IHS for direct die cooling, which is pretty much a must to get any gains over the average 14900k, I mean you had one there with SP106, I think a 14900k with SP of 115 would be better, maybe they are all binned above 105, which is not that rare in the non KS.
I went through 5 14900k samples trying to get an above average one. Most were actually bad, but got annoyed and settled the on the most average one I had. With the KS releasing, I figured I'd just go with that to get a better binned 14900k. Popped it in with the same bios setup and undervolt as my 14900k, and it immediately crashed when put under any load. Messing around with it to get the same temps as my 14900k, it actually performs worse. The IMC is worse, and the E cores are worse. P cores are slightly better, though. So, now I'm wondering what exactly makes a KS a KS? What I'd different about it for it to get that designations? Does it just have to have like 1% better than average P cores or something? From what I can tell from using it, it is LITERALLY just a 14900k they slapped and "S" on the end of. I have no clue how they decide if it's a K or KS, or what actual difference there is, other than being overclocked/overvolted out of the box. Well, MORE so than the 14900k, at least. I can take my 14900k, and change the clock speeds and voltages, and have it perform identically to the KS. There's nothing offered you couldn't do with a 14900k. My 14900KS is running perfectly fine on an AIO. Stock out of the box with the P-cores all set at 5.9 and the E-cores set at 4.5 and just enabled XMP. Core Voltage is 1.35 and the temps are in the mid to low 70s. I played 4 different COD games and never crashed. I dont know why all these Tech heads want to slam this chip. I had a 13900K before and this chip beats it hands down. The 14th Gen runs more efficient and I could only get my 13900K to run stable at 5.5 to 5.6 and it would crash quite often. I can get even more out of it on the AI overclock tool in the bios. Up to 6.2 on 3 cores but the voltage and temps go up to much and it just gets to hot and its not worth the hassle so Im leaving it at 5.9 all P cores.
I have question, what should i get I5 14600kf with Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 MOTHERBOARD or R7 5800x3d with ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II AMD AM4, both of them with ddr4 ram 3200mhz i play RUST
HOW INTEL STOLE $285 from me? I bought an open box Core i9 from the largest vendor in the US and maybe the world. The CPU did not work so I sent it to Intel for warranty repair or replace because the model itself was less than a year old so it must be under warranty. Open box and demo units are treated like new by manufacturers regarding warranty. Intel told me that the CPU was not genuine and refused to return it. The vendor said they will refund me if I send the CPU back. Intel refused. So Intel, the crook, & the vendor profited and the victim paid the price. Later I found out that CPU lids can be swapped as long as they are the same socket. So if you have a dead Celeron lid swapped with a new i9 lid, then return the dead Celeron for an i9 refund and keep the i9 CPU. That is a serious design flaw that Intel should pay for not the victims. Intel have not changed the flawed design on their latest models.
Hell even my 13900K (SP 98) runs EXACTLY the same as my friends 14900K (SP 97). By that i mean equal scores in CB R23, CPU Test in Times Spy, as well as FPS benchmarks integrated in games: CoD, CS2, Valorant etc...
FFS i just got my 14900K a week ago i delidded slapped on LM and a new Copper IHS i waited to see if this would actually become real. And of course every other tech tuber this is the last of its kind is what eating away at me as i always have to max out a sockets potential or ram. Like my Synology Nas it has 64GB of ram just because. Now this maybe ill order that direct die from EK. But then again my 14900K regularly guzzles back 1.54v
They somehow manage to make it more niche with every KS. I just wished they could offer it delided in a basic tray variant. But I guess intel sees this as a product for whales and the stock sales so... why bother.
Not going to happen, monolithic dies are uh well they are dead. We are almost certainly at the end of the frequency supremacy era based on what we know about the upcoming platforms. Intel is going the chiplet route for 15th gen so the only monolithic cpu's are probably the "G" sku's from AMD. The current 9.125 MHz on liquid helium will probably hold strong unless they decide to give it another go but even then we are talking 9.250 GHz or so max. The 5 digit 10000 MHz is a pipe dream
Then the 15700K comes out. LoL! My rule is that there will always be something better. Stop chasing the dragon and settle down with something powerful, yet it won't cost a ton.
You may have over tightened your cooler, the memory controller is super finicky to too much pressure. When I was overtorqued I couldn't even dream of posting 7200 XMP with my 14900K, could barely do 6000.
Maybe, but I already tried several combinations of voltages, even tried the new AI training from the latest msi bios, I have an ace max, but I'm pretty sure is the cpu, can't even handle 5.6ghz without crashing
Why you spend $250 more The answer is to have the best cutting Edge piece of silicone thats out For a gaming RUclips channel Even if it doesn't do anything it is still top tier and creates curiosity for viewers hopefully that answers your question
If you already have a 13900K there's no need to upgrade to 14900 KS... Also if you play in 4K the performance is the same as the 13900K because it's GPU bound. 14900 KS is for new builders.... Not to upgrade from a 13900K

Hi, which CPU is better for overclocking? My i7 13700K (SP89) manages 6.1 GHz, the cpu is capped with liquid metal on it and has a full copper IHS on it from Rockitcool. Question: Which CPU is best for overclocking? i7-13700K, i9-13900K, i9-13900KS, i7-14700K, i9-14900K, or i9-14900KS My cooler has a maximum TDP of 300 watts. Thank you I am a fan of yours. :)
But jufus the 7800x3d gets 2 more fps while consuming less watts
2 FPS with some AMDip added on top. lol
Jufes don’t like AMD dude.
@@NBWDOUGHBOY ONLY HIS 7800X3D DIPED HAVE YET TO SEE ANOTHER REVIEWER TO CONFIRM THIS
@@ManOfF1re Those Reviewers dont actually play games. Thats the problem. Anybody can hit the run button on a Benchmark. That doesn't tell the whole story.
@@NBWDOUGHBOYThat is very true. Synthetic benchmarks are trash.
I love Intel. But I'm not a biased trash-talker. I also love AMD. I have had both throughout my many decades, gaming. In gaming, AMD does usually win over Intel for FPS. But it depends on the game and the generation of processors in question. Since Intel's 6th gen (DDR4 platform) and AMD's AM4 platform, AMD has had a lead in gaming, on a lot of titles.
Glad I stayed long enough for Layla going for a stroll. Hi Layla!!
im waiting for your 15900k bundle to upgrade my 5950x.
Do I need this CPU if I play in 4K 240hz with a RTX 4090 GPU? Currently using i9 10900K.
When comparing to AMD with the better binned intel chip will you be doing the same for the AMD to keep things on an even playing field?
I daily my delidded 13900k at 5.9 all core at 1.36v, so better than a 14900KS out the box. It also does 8000 cl34, 27 hours karhu stable. I know I’ve got some good silicon but still, it’s three generations old. Pointless release from Intel
@@jsteff9290karhu, tm5 absolut+1usmus, occt memory+large data set. Been using it for months on my msi z790i no issues. It’s solid
3 generations old ???
1.36v on karhu or full load (r23, occt, prime 95)?
@@levinhofer5966 lets be honest r23 is ass... i can pass it at 5.1 cache and 5.0 but will crash instantly on battlefield 2042... i can get 5.0 stable but with a lot of vcore.
Funny how this shows up first when I type 14900ks and every other video on the page (with 10x the viewership) is saying how asinine this “product” is. I wonder what could have happened for it to reach the top of search results 🧐 🤔
Up to 6.2 on 3 cores but the voltage and temps go up to much and it just gets to hot and its not worth the hassle so Im leaving it at 5.9 all P cores.
great vid bro, just curious: how can i access your timings for AM5, the 6400 cl30 one you plugged? cheers
Deliding the 14900KS is a game changer. P Cores will run at 6 gigahertz and the temps are 10c cooler than on an AIO.
I have question, what should i get I5 14600kf with Gigabyte B760M DS3H DDR4 MOTHERBOARD or R7 5800x3d with ASUS TUF Gaming B550-PLUS WiFi II AMD AM4, both of them with ddr4 ram 3200mhz i play RUST
As always, thanks for the solid, in depth reviews!
Took mine back, shocking how its the same chip as my 14900k
or Just buy the non ks or the last gen ks or the last gen non ks if you gonna clock to 5.7ghz
This is a 13901.5K. This shit is literally a scam. Bad intel.
Thanks for the video is Z790 AORUS MASTER X can do 8000 xmp or 7800 xmp?
FFS i just got my 14900K a week ago i delidded slapped on LM and a new Copper IHS i waited to see if this would actually become real. And of course every other tech tuber this is the last of its kind is what eating away at me as i always have to max out a sockets potential or ram. Like my Synology Nas it has 64GB of ram just because. Now this maybe ill order that direct die from EK.
But then again my 14900K regularly guzzles back 1.54v
Looking to upgrade this year. I'm still using X79.
I seriously don't understand why don't intel give 10 p core in 13 or 14 i9 ks instead, it would be better to buy than this we want faster core
And i'am happy with a 175us 13600T :)
They somehow manage to make it more niche with every KS. I just wished they could offer it delided in a basic tray variant. But I guess intel sees this as a product for whales and the stock sales so... why bother.
14:10 basically sums it up. "so what the Hell is the extra $200 for!?" LoL 😂
Best way to review the 14900ks killed it on this one very good to know
great review Jufes
I may skip this CPU as I got the last one and I had fun.
The biggest issue is that bios updates aren't here yet that utilize the cpu correctly
by the time ASUS releases are proper bios, the 15900K will be released. Fuck all that 🙄
I'm pleased I bought the 13900kf and overclocked it to 5.7p 4.5e 8000 ddr5 I can definitely up the p core's more but I don't like cooking my cpu😂
I think I will stay with my 13900KS 5.8P All core and 46E
14700K is all you need even for productivity 14900KS is a waste of silicon
Waste of money, not waste of silicon.
@@Winnetou17 poor
Did I just see you plugging RAM into a motherboard that has power feeding it?
Good stuff! Easily the best review.
You're doing great work!
They should just sell delidded CPU without a warranty or something
I think they do somewhere but I don’t know where
We either gonna be at 7ghz soon, or they really will need to rehaul cpu architecture to advance
For sure. Look for Intel releasing a 7GHz CPU about 9 months to a year after AMD releases Zen 5.
@@gtijason7853 5Ghz was a pipe dream not too long ago. Give it some time to age lol.
+200usd for KS, they should go for +400usd and introduce binned imc KS
But it has the KS in the name, it must be better
Then the 15700K comes out. LoL!
My rule is that there will always be something better. Stop chasing the dragon and settle down with something powerful, yet it won't cost a ton.
When did kratos start binning cpus
Are you guys chasing frames or not!?
do some fafel and put some falafel instead of thermal paste, im sure temp will become low.
What about max performance?
What if my trash 13900k can't even get to 7200mhz, I guess would be worth it?
You may have over tightened your cooler, the memory controller is super finicky to too much pressure. When I was overtorqued I couldn't even dream of posting 7200 XMP with my 14900K, could barely do 6000.
Yeah that’s not possible, you have a failure somewhere
Maybe, but I already tried several combinations of voltages, even tried the new AI training from the latest msi bios, I have an ace max, but I'm pretty sure is the cpu, can't even handle 5.6ghz without crashing
Ace max is why
So the oc for intel is very limited, we already knew but not for not so crazy speeds too, that's bad
Good to know!
Ouf, that IMC result were truly dissappointing.
What is AIO ?
12700k clearance price, cheap A-die and you are on
Why you spend $250 more
The answer is to have the best cutting Edge piece of silicone thats out
For a gaming RUclips channel
Even if it doesn't do anything it is still top tier and creates curiosity for viewers hopefully that answers your question
For one who play game but not the bios screen!!😂😂😂 damn….it hurts
Can it *compete* ?
If you already have a 13900K there's no need to upgrade to 14900 KS... Also if you play in 4K the performance is the same as the 13900K because it's GPU bound. 14900 KS is for new builders.... Not to upgrade from a 13900K
Looking lean Jufes!!
If I had a mustache like him.
can this cpu heat living room?
Not locked to 5.7Ghz, stock it maybe do an living room apartment yes.
I think I'd rather just turn off hyper-threading.
Abrham does tech
I think those can do 8200/8400
at least there's a community willing to get the goods, digital png however...
I wonder why call of duty crashes when I overclock my 4090
Guess who bought an 14900K last month... Oh well!
Edit: Looks like the 14900KS is just an idiot tax! Thanks for saving me money!
I wish Intel would trade me in my 13900KS since I didn't see the 14th coming or i would have waited!
well well well
Will we get Santa beard Jufes in 8mo

You are pretty stupid then lol
After seeing his “review” of the AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D, I would say you should go elsewhere. Gamer’s Nexus is notorious for being highly reliable for everything they do and have meticulously set up controlled environments to test hardware on different system configurations in different games. I would highly recommend Gamer’s Nexus.
