i'm a 33 year old man. I first heard this song when i was about 19 or so. I tear up every single time i hear it. when i was 16 my best friend was my neighbor. he was 53. He was very popular in the neighbor hood. he was a wood worker. had a huge garden. he grew the biggest pumpkins i had ever seen. A few friends and i spent a lot of time with him. me more then others. i had issues at home which i was constantly running from. he was always there for me. he helped me keep my grades up. he helped me with my hobbies at the time. he helped me in more ways then i could comprehend at 16. one day i came home from the movies with a girlfriend. My mom told me he had passed. i ran down the street immediatly, to find flowers and candles covering his front step. a coroners note sealing the front door. I was absolutely devistated. i had 2 deaths in my life at that time that hurt that bad. my uncle and my grandpa. I was told he was found slumped over his computer. his heart had failed. and the reason being was "his heart was too big" or so i was told. i don't know how true that is. and to this day i don't know. all i know it fits perfectly. he was the nicest person i have ever met. my time knowing him was short. only a few years. but i will never forget him. this song, in every way, reminds me of him, and it always will. Though it has become increasingly more rare than it once was in believe it will sneak up on you when you least expect it and when it does you just have grab on with both hands and not let go. True love is knowing that you’d do anything you can to help make the other happy be there through all the good and bad days I believe true love is out there for everyone you just have to be lucky enough t find it. The two women would often look for up and coming bands and would give them a place to stay. The line, "There's no one in town I know, you gave us some place to go" is talking about how when they would be in town for a concert and didn't know anyone, they stayed with Mykel and Carli, who gave them a place to stay.

Anne Gichuki I watched it again at the same age and I think she was being a bit over dramatic. Did she honestly apply to no other colleges? If she was rejected by Princeton (I know she was accepted but that's what she thought), the other Ivy League schools are still available to her. If she didn't want to go to an Ivy League after that, she could go to another, less slightly ranked state school. Then there's Austin. Yeah, he was a jerk, but referring to the last paragraph, there are other much nicer boys out there. Once those two things go wrong, she just gives up and decides that she has no future. And about her family. Yes, they were mean, but she had her own room and a car! If she couldn't go to college, she could have gotten a job and moved out anyway. I'm guessing job-hunting was easier then, since this was pre-recession.

Anne Gichuki I watched it again at the same age and I think she was being a bit over dramatic. Did she honestly apply to no other colleges? If she was rejected by Princeton (I know she was accepted but that's what she thought), the other Ivy League schools are still available to her. If she didn't want to go to an Ivy League after that, she could go to another, less slightly ranked state school. Then there's Austin. Yeah, he was a jerk, but referring to the last paragraph, there are other much nicer boys out there. Once those two things go wrong, she just gives up and decides that she has no future. And about her family. Yes, they were mean, but she had her own room and a car! If she couldn't go to college, she could have gotten a job and moved out anyway. I'm guessing job-hunting was easier then, since this was pre-recession.
