Staring at meat prices in the supermarket: "I am begging you cows, I am serious, do not do this crap! This kind of pricing is absurd." Inflation over the last two years has been absurd. It means that everything, including new GPUs, will be more expensive.
That's US pricing without tax if I'm correct.... For some of us in EU you can add 25% tax on top of that. I believe only those with business that need it will buy it ( without tax )... 😢😭☠️
if there is an audience that buys cards for $3000, it doesn't really matter how much you cry about it. Nvidia sets msrp depending on how quick their cards fly off shelves. and 4090s have been flying off shelves as soon as they're restocked. get used to it.
The only reason nvidia charges that much is because the people who call us broke for complaining about these absurd prices pay that. That's why apple charges so much, people pay for it. Ludicrous, really.
It's because it's the best of the best you can get. There is no necessity for anyone to own an RTX 5090, but there's still plenty people who are willing to pay the premium price for it, which is fine. You can make similar arguments about cars. "But if you purchase the same car model with a bigger engine they will charge you 20 grand more. GRRRRR greedy suckers!" Is it 20 grand more expensive for the company to install the bigger engine? No, but they still sell it this way because people will buy it and that is the whole point of running a company
@@cedriccappelle2036the same fab making their AI chips are making these. Any production run takes time away from producing cards that fetch 200k each or whatever they charge for them things.
@@cedriccappelle2036 it's still a silly price increase and scummy of them. I have a water cooled 1080ti from 7 years ago that costed $1300 or $1400. Even inflation doesn't account for the price of a 4090 at $3500,and yet, a 5090 is going to cost even more, that's nuts.
The difference is that Apple actually deliver. What have nVidia done the past few years except pump more wattage through the silicon? Apple have genuinely innovated. Look at the power draw for an M4 chip running at full load; 20W. Not a a typo, actual TWENTY watts - and that's CPU and GPU cores running simultaneously. Yes, of course you can get much better performance with x86 and nVidia, but you have to plug them into a nuclear power station. It's absurd.
@@cedriccappelle2036 What kind of analogy is that, You're heading a different way. What if 5080 is also absurdly costlier than 4080, and 5070 than 4070? What about that then? A similar gpu should fall in similar price bracket, xx090 card is under 2000usd card and it should fall as such not above it and same goes for xx80 and xx70 cards. You gave a car example, check the same car price for each new model like Honda accord 2022 (26520 usd) model with 2024 model (29000 usdf) for example. Now how much percentage difference is that? Ferrari 812 gts 2022 was at starting basic price from $405,450 and the 2024 model starts at $433,765. Now how much percentage difference is that? Now rtx 4090 FE was at 1600usd, right? Now make the similar percentage increase and see what price comes up. Honda accord has 9.3 percentage difference and Ferrari has 6.9% difference increase. So by your car example RTX 5090 should be from 1710.4 usd to 1748.8 usd. Lets just make it 10% and its still under 1800usd (1760 usd). @POPARTTYRTM was right, its because of thinking people like you have other people suffer. Now i do pretty good for myself and can buy 2500usd gpu easily but i won't out of principle. I currently own Asus Tuff Gaming rtx 4090 OC which i bought at 1700usd in February, i just had to wait around for 4 months because I refused to buy it at scalping prices. Just because you can afford something at insanely absurd price doesn't mean you should buy it. Anything should be capable or worthy of the price it has. What do you think will happen if some how people like you or most rich people grow conscience somehow, i know its impossible but lets just say that they do, and they don't buy rtx 5090 if it releases above 2000usd? Do you think NVidia will not decrease the price? They will. Remember PS3 launch price? Sony weren't selling it enough at the price they launched it with and they decreased it to 400usd and they it started to sell well. I don't get it why most people lose brain cells as they get richer and richer and only the few ones that thrive by either holding on to their principles or by going to the dark side like Jensen (Nvidia).
Back during the GPU/chip shortage people couldn't just wait a bit and paid ridiculous prices to scalpers, Nvidia saw that and acted accordingly with their pricing.
I agree with just not buying it, thing is, there will be someone buying it for one or other reason, be it gaming, IA, black marketing it to China, even heck chances of Crypto mining. Till those buyers fade and stock is piled at stores, then maybe NVidia would start paying attention to the issue.
The reason Nvidia does not care and people buy these is because- The Game making companies are pushing unpacked, unoptimized, sub par games which requires more graphics power ,which was not really needed. I blame the share holders and upper management for cost cutting. Having contract based developers doing work with extreme deadline, no work life balance, low pay, harassment(no there is actual very disturbing harassment) and kicking the developers out when game development is done. These types of management are also the one buying Nvidia AI cards to push the hype and stock prices. After eventually destroying ip and putting companies to absolute dirt. The Ceos and Shareholder just to different company. They are like leeches.
The law of diminishing returns. With each generation the performance increase is minimal but the cost is higher. I’ll just stick in the high-mid level AMD land. Nvidia can suck it.
Call it what it really is... greedflation. It's not like AMD released at reasonable pricing either, instead they always drop the price later when they've lost the opportunity Nvidia gave them to win some marketshare. This is why I really wish Intel continues to build something that can eventually compete at all segments.
This is honestly laughable. There are so many meaningful things I can spend 2k on. Hell, I see cars on the side of the road with that pricetag. It was fun Nvidia, but looks like you've lost your way.
they were never a gaming company, they were a graphics solutions company. They only focused on the gaming sector because it was a relatively easy sector to enter and they were interested in it. But let's not forget that many vaccines exist today thanks to nvidia. Many activities to keep our lifestyles simple depend on specialized graphics. I think I can survive if one day all gaming is in the cloud. An acquaintance who studied criminology tells me that they already had specialized equipment running with NVIDIA graphics at that time. This thing about using a more accessible sector is nothing new, it's done in almost all industries. Basically that small sector keeps you afloat while paying for your research (which is usually a better investment in the long term). People also see the 2k GPU, but really nobody requires anything higher than a 4070 in their day to day. As long as it's a professional and most of us can afford it. Although I see people who are unhappy, we can also say that we are unhappy to see people wasting GPUs and PCs the way they do. And even then not all professionals require a 3090,4090 or 5090, even a h100, it's like a very big step, if you're already close enough, a GPU like that can be a boost. But if you're not even close yet, it really doesn't make a substantial difference.
@@hagaiak Where can you buy a new car for $20k that won't crumple like aluminum foil in a small accident? But in truth the USA has a lot of wealthy people that can buy a 5090 every month if they wanted. There are 12 million families that earn over $250k a year, so nVidia can get whatever they want for a 5090 and scalpers know it too.
I dont mind nvidia releasing a 2500$ gpu honestly. The more people wont be able to afford it the more will come to amd which may gather enough of capital to compete with nvidia in future generations.
Titan 48gb for $2500 is fine. Remember MSRP for 4090 was $1599. Even a jump to $1999 is an insane jump. Maybe justifiable if the performance is there, but $2499 is nuts. Maybe for the small percentage of absolutely perfect silicon, you can justify that price, but not for an 11% hobbled chip for marketing reasons.
No whining is ever gonna make a company drop prices. Not buying their products makes them drop prices. And absolutely people will buy those GPUs and drain all available stock. Wanna be a smart? BUY NVIDIA STOCK TO BUY THEIR GPU LATER!

People don't fork out hundreds of dollars because they simp for Nvidia it is because they want the BEST OF THE BEST when it comes to graphics cards and are willing to pay an arm and a leg to get one and at that point AMD GPU's are out of the question because they have no competition vs Nvidia and the best they can do is compete vs the Nvidia xx60 and xx70 class GPU's and AMD also said a few months ago that they may give up on high end GPU's since they are not good at making them (they didn't say that part but of course it is a reason) and that all their focus will be on getting the best performance on a budget which is not what Nvidia is doing which is just giving you the most performance available even if you end up paying a lot. It's like comparing a Lamborghini to a Ford of course the former brand costs more and they have high end powerful super cars and the latter is mostly known for cheaper family cars and pickups etc... Also Apple selling their Mac/Macbook/iPad/iPhone in a pretty good amount, in total about 300-400million sales per year.. what is more than Steam+Playstation store combined amount of users.. so Apple gaming have a pretty shiny future ,because even theit phones are capable to run AAA games for a few years, and they are using the same cores and same programmig language.. alias all Apple devices run the same source code natively, so easy to release the same games on multiple platforms (phone/tablet/laptop/desktop/even in future handheld or console if they release one..), meanwhile others have different OS, different programing languages, alias required multiple dev teams to release the same game on multiple platforms, what cost a lot of for them.. so Apple method will gain a lot of attention soon, when there will be a toons of gaming capable devices (technically A14/M1 was also that, but the ray traxig support just started with A17 and M3, and with A18 and M4 their main weaknes, the low amount of RAM is also changed..)

AMD literally has high end options right now but are skipping the high end for the 8000 but honestly can you really blame AMD here people complained about the price of their cards even though they are cheaper than nvidia's cards but AMD's just weren't good at raytracing and people bought nvidia instead
@@utopic1312 yup! And actually, as an owner of a 7900 XTX myself, the raytracing is really not bad at all! Nvidia is a little bit faster, sure. In some games more than a little bit, but in others they are actually very close. But even with the AMD card the games are perfectly playable with raytracing. But the thing is, people will always find a reason to buy overpriced Nvidia cards. First, there was AMD's supposedly poor driver support. Thankfully, fewer and fewer people still believe that to be the case, and it hasn't been true for 5 years now. The drivers are on point, and the software is much better than GeForce Experience, we'll see how the new Nvidia app looks and performs. But now it's things like Raytracing which most games don't support, and even in the games that do, most people leave it off due to the performance hit regardless of what GPU you've got. Yeah, true, AMD is behind Nvidia in Raytracing. But not by as much as people think, and you really have to weigh that against the price difference. So ...if you had done any research before calling someone greedy you'd realize that you're the greedy, whiny bitter kid with no money.
@kwikschannel4371 You're complaining about a 5090 that I'll bet you'll never need. 95% of gamers use 1080p or 1440 on a single monitor. So tell me who is greedy? The problem with RTX 5090 is that it is bleeding Nvidia's AI gpu sales, if the sales price is too low. A100 with 40GB memory costs around US$8000, so not setting the price high enough, will eat the A100 sales, where the profit margins are much fatter than amongst gay-mers.
Also, it's going to be plain expensive to manufacture. To improve performance significantly on the (mostly) same 4nm node as the 4090, they're going to have to make a very big chip, which is going to cost quite a lot at TSMC monopoly pricing. Add to that a PCB that can handle 600W and new GDDR7 and yeah - that's gonna be a spicy bill of materials. Nvidia eating the cost to give us better prices while tanking their margins was never going to happen.

Nvidia doesn't care about any negative feedback. There were tons of negative reactions to the 40 series pricing and the 4090 still flew off the shelves. Nvidia has no competitor at the top end, they can price it by its weight in gold and people would buy it because there is no equal in performance or features.
5090 price should surprise no one, that is what happens when you have no competition for a product (because they don’t, AMD can’t compete for the best card and they haven’t been able to for a while, on top of them coming out and basically saying they’re not even going to try to compete with Nividias high end anymore) you can charge whatever you want to and people who can afford it will buy it because it is the best of the best, I will say the 5080 having only 16GB when the 5090 has 32GB is kinda absurd the 5080 should have at least 20GB while giving the 5070 16GB

Don't beg Nvidia. Just don't buy their products. But as long as there are enough buyers then the real problem is with the consumers.

The reason Nvidia does not care and people buy these is because-
The Game making companies are pushing unpacked, unoptimized, sub par games which requires more graphics power ,which was not really needed.

I can almost guarantee you that, even though I really don't want this to be the case, people will start justifying the 5090's pricing once they see the massive performance jump it has over the 4090, but us mainstream GPU plebs will have to make-do with a 10℅ performance increase with the 5060 and 5060 Ti.
Will at least be a 30% jump on 4090. At least.

And it can be yours for the low low price of just $500
Nvidia is on an AI high. Smart gamers will buy AMD or Battlemage until AI goes soft (it will at some point) then Nvidia will be pleading with gamers to come back.
Beg Nvidia? Do you have no self-respect at all? Weak people.
Nvidia knows they can price the 5090 at any price and people will buy it. If people don't they will just allocate more of the chips for AI since they make way more money in that area, so we a screwed either way. Until AMD shows up to the high end party we have only one option.
Not to mention the 7900XTX has 24GB VRAM compared to the 4080's 16GB.

Just FYI.
A 4070 has a $599 MSRP and 5% more performance than a 3080.
A 3080 was $699 MSRP 4 yrs ago.
So a 4070 is 5% better at a 15% discount vs a 3080. Think about that, slowly.

@@rkwjunior2298 What do you do that you need the performance?
@kwikschannel4371 You're complaining about a 5090 that I'll bet you'll never need. 95% of gamers use 1080p or 1440 on a single monitor.

It's not as valuable as it's projected to be. That's most of our lives now.
Exactly. Also, the lack of effective competition for overall pricing...

@@utopic1312 6 years ago you could have THE best of the best PC system for $1500 (GTX 1080TI, i7 7700k, 16gb ram and a good psu) nowadays a 4080 costs as much as that top end PC 6-7 years ago...so yes, its getting dumb expensive lol
@@frostfieldgaming4725 No but if I want to not spend money on upgrades every 2 years because the newest games wont run 60+ FPS I need a 5090 which is bullshit
@brexy9984 PC gaming isn't just the high end and even then 1500 dollars is pretty good for a PC nowadays and you have more options now than you did years ago
I'm just waiting for the release of them to pick up a 4070ti or an AMD equivalent on sale this winter/spring
nvidia is ruining pc gaming, literally causing consoles to be a bargain and pc gaming to be unaffordable
I no longer buy Nvidia because of this crap. If enough people stop buying them they will be forced to lower prices.
A lot of privileged selfish people don't care about the price and will keep buying them.
@@Azarilh I hear you
@@IbanezGuitarz87 Got some in the comments too.
$2000 for a gaming card is outrageous. I wonder how many people will decide to purchase a 5090?
Everyone making money with AI who doesn't have the budget for a five-figure professional card, to start with...
2000 for a graphics cards is not that much. My guy be real the Normie consumer can easily spend two grand on a item and not even think twice about it

@@griffinhot2823 Most iPhone users slap down not far short of $2k for the new iPhone Pro Max every two or three years...
It will be out of stock day 1, and people will struggle to buy it at MSRP even a year later.
It will probably be sold for around ~$2500 for most of its shelf life.
Customers getting too greedy themself. I can maybe understand outrage about lower tier GPUs being out of reach for many due to their price. But ranting about the high price of a top model GPU, that they surely don't need to live life, is just complaining at a high level. Nvidia lowering the price of their 90s GPUs wouldn't be Nvidia being nice, making reasonable prices, it would be Nvidia being dumb, scamming themself.
what about the 80 class?
Remember when Jensen Huang said he is committed to making affordable and quality GPUs for gamers? Pepperidge farm remembers.
The moment he wore that black leather jacket, Nvidia prices went up.
How do you know the mid range won't be affordable?
@@chaosRonin affordable yes but will the new cards be worth it over the 4000 series.
Sorry but Nvidia doesn't care if we buy their card or not. They can survive with or without any of us 😢.
And the number 1 price for the company who has the worst prices on their products goes to… Nvidia!
2000 isnt that crazy considering our dollar is becoming worthless
Also considering that 4090’s were selling over MSRP for nearly $2000 or even more
Well those worthless dollars sure haven't increased in my pay rate.
@CombatMedic1O gotta keep the poor poor so they work there loves away instead of revolting
get ready to pay 3000 then, keep in mind tht these gpus are sold in the entire planet, only north america uses dollar as their main coin, the rest uses coins that get taxes and increased prices that makes these gpus 4000 dollars or more, they are killing the market, basically, and they dont care because nvidia sells ai hardware now, not desktop gpus
what about your gold?
Who actually buys a 4090 / 5090 anyway. I have never met someone who has.
Mostly these tech tuber/gaming channels because they can use them as write offs on taxes at the end of the year.
I have friends that work normal jobs who got 4090
@@VexOoo-x7y I worked with a guy in Walmart that lived with his parents, drove a POS car and he bought the new Meta Quest VR and then a few months later bought the Apple VR thing for several grand and bought the latest iphone. Terrible priorities in life. The kid could have bought a nice car instead or moved out.
@Toutvids that's fine man. It's 2024 not everyone has to live traditionally and if it makes his life worth living I'd value that than anything else

I just sold my car to afford a mid range pc. Companies have no clue about their customers.
Completely insane pricing. Will absolutely consider AMD if that's true. Or just stick around with my 3080.
How to fix overpricing: talk it up. How?
'Oh wow! I'm going to buy 2, my friends want one, I'm going to get a second job to buy one, I'm going to eat packet noodles for a year to buy one'. Get them to oversupply and then never touch the product.
In Hungary the 4090 currently ranging from $2100 to $3600
Man I remember covid time when a £650 RTX 3080 sold for £1200 cause of buyers just shelling out on scalpers/resellers.
That just done loose a bolt on Jen's head and he starts to overprice the cards even further.
Friend of mine who bought a brand new RX 580 for £150, re-sold it at the height of covid for £500
one of the biggest problems with artificial frame gen (to me) is that you can't have V-sync activated, which means no adaptive sync. So in many cases this is more annoying if you don't have an extremely high fps (which makes tearing less apparant).
You need to turn off the music...
Nvm you did I just had to wait
You don't tell Nvidia that prices are too high. You simply STOP buying it.
Price depends on performance
No one is going to be able to afford the electricity bill to run this card. It's like turning on every light in your house and using 100w bulbs. This is nuts, do we also need a phase 3 power outlet? Upgraded fuse boxes? Where does it end? Do we need a small nuclear home power plant? 🥺
I'll be buying amd this time around
Nobody told Toyota that there prices are a ripoff, in the old days there were voted as the most reliable. Not they are average. They charge thousands above for a base model car in Australia.
So $2500 MSRP, means pushing $5,000 from third party sellers. NO FREAKING WAY AM I PAYING THAT. Thank god I just got my 4070 last November, I only need to upgrade my motherboard, CPU, and RAM, then I am not buying a freaking thing for another 5yrs!
Companies will still pay the price. Gamers aren't their main customers anymore
"Simply too expensive" I completely agree.
As a gamer in my mid-40's, I have been upgrading my 80ti/ultra/gtx etc. class cards, every 2-3 generations, since 2004 and NEVER have I spent over $750.
With Titan/x90 class prices going stratospheric, I can't see 80 class prices returning to sane levels until we simply stop voting (with our wallets) into the cycle of ever inflating GPU prices. *WE ARE BEING RIPPED OFF!!*
Especially as this 5080 is an x80 in name only...as the leaked specs read like a 5070. Let these cards ROT on shop shelves until nVidia are forced to bring the prices back down to reality.
Vote with your wallet. Do not buy! Reacting negatively isn't going to do anything lol.
When I bought my 4070ti Super, I paid damn near 900 for it. After hearing the 50 series prices the first time, I swore off Nvidia, and none of my builds will ever have Intel or Nvidia in them ever again. AMD finally won me over, Team Red all the way
😂😂😂😂 $3000. Never
Equivalent silicon is basically being sold to businesses for $20-30k. nVidia is doing fan service for even $3k for a 5090.
