I believe the only thing distinguishing it from a film would be some slight movement in the background, it seems a bit too still. Even some minor movement in the fog would make a ton of difference. Awesome work alltogether!
@@billy.the.maker. @kedwyd6535 a lot of what makes movies have high budgets is not only the time it takes to render but also when a project is so huge you have many different hands on the same shot and every time a shot goes wrong you have to get so much approval to add or subtract things from a shot and this can sometimes take weeks. It really depends on if you have a really good CG supervisor that has a good relationship with producers and directors and can function efficiently. There is in fact something off with the 100 h when the water goes down. It is like there is a lack of inertia added to the fact that all the water drops seem to fall the same way
The reason why smoke simulations look so similar to water simulations is because from a physics/engineering perspective, they are pretty much identical. In science we refer to gases and liquids as 'fluids', because their behaviours can be modelled using the same sets of equations (Navier-stokes et al.). The only (main) difference between the two is the density and viscosity of the fluid.
@@eSKAone- You're technically right, although under large pressures there is a measurable compressibility with water. In the scope of 'solving' the equations (navier-stokes etc.), the main difference between compressible and incompressible fluids is the complexity of the equation as you're able to cancel out certain variables in an incompressible analysis.

I don't know why this came up in my recommendations but I'm glad it did. The effort you put in the VFX simulations can be seen even in your video editing as well. It's 10/10.
I don't care for VFX at all but I clicked this video somewhat by accident and it's been really fun watching, super engaging and informative whilst being a straight up cool video, actually makes me kinda want to start looking at VFX

Props dude, you've got yourself a new subscriber.
It's interesting to see that computational fluid dynamics/mechanics used for the most advanced mechanical engineering is also used for VFX. Navier and Stokes really knew what they were doing.
Ever since I was a kid, I always wanted to get into VFX. But seeing how long it takes even in today's technology to render just a 10 second video, it's discouraging. Props to all the men and women that are into this stuff and turned it into a professional field. The amount of patience you guys must have is insurmountable. I hope you're getting paid well.
Dude, can’t you just be a voice actor who uses Ai? That’s what I’m thinking of doing . You could outperform people who just use Ai as well as voice actors who don’t.
@Author_SoftwareDesigner I want you to think long and hard about that comment. The point of being a voice actor is using your voice. YOUR voice. You CAN do that, sure, but I raise you the question of why should I? That makes me feel talentless. I can do every voice (except female, but I am actually training to do so as a male) that AI showcased in this video on my own. Probably at a 99% copy rate. It's called training and talent. Hence it became a thing. You think Mark Hamil or Dee Bradley Baker use A.I? No. And look at the power of their voice. That is something this A.I program removes any need for. No nee dfor talent, training or even a human and THAT makes me feel sad. I've worked hard to maintain my vocal range, and along comes a robot to do it for you. Not perfectly, but everybody will just use that to pay an actual human wishing to eat food and make a lil money by using what I've been given in life. And that is a talent to sing, voice and act. Two of which A.I now do for people and they'd rather do that because humans have lost the ability to want to be social in this cruel and digitally revolving world. So, respectfully. I could. But hell no. To quote I am enough in my own voice to not need A.I.
Then if you're serious about your VA then you should get into AI tools as well. I've seen what a good VA can do with AI enhancement and results are absolutely amazing already. AI on it's own, without solid VA still is inferior but VA + AI enhancement is definitely the way it will be done in near future.

Absolutely phenomenal work, not just with the VFX but the video itself. Very expressive, entertaining, and informative! Especially as someone who knows dirt about VFX. Subbing for more, keep up the great work!
Means the world! Thanks so much for subbing! A new video is coming soon (ish)😅
@erikdoesvfx Of course, take your time with it. I can only imagine how time-consuming the process is 😭 I'm willing to wait though!
I love how you do memes. We know about them, but I also love how you incorporate them.
Ah I'm so happy you like it🙏🏼
In your video, I have learned about one thing and that is Quality and skills are always at their peak.
Just Awesome, Awesome and Awesome 🥇.
You're so kind!! Thank you for your support :)
DUDE THATS INSANE
THANK YOU :)
Amazing work ! To me this video has perfect length, delivery and humor. Also, just enough technical info to be interesting without overwhelming a casual viewer ! Much respect !
Those words means more than you think! Really appreciate that🙏🏼🤍
I had to laugh (not obnoxiously) when you said _"This will take a whole HOUR to render"_ .
Back in 1997 I was using Autodesk 3D Studio V.3 on Ms-DOS and I modelled a minigun with 100% reflective materials rotating horizontally. I set it to 'Render animation' and went camping for 2 weeks with my cousin. When I got back there was approx 30 mins render time to go HAHAHAHAHAH. In all honesty I was AMAZED my comp didn't melt or my dad turned the comp off.
Pentium 75s FTW MAN! :D
They don't build 'em like that anymore.
No way!! Crazy how times have changed! Thanks for the story😂
thumbs up not only for your work but for the Zuma reference @ 09:55
