Excuse me Sean, but its not cypress back and sides. Its laminated rosewood back and sides. Sorry for the correction, but just want everyone else to have the right info. Great guitar! I will get me one soon 😀
Understandable. I have one with cypress back and sides. Tomorrow I’m getting the limited which has Ziricote instead. How is it holding up after a year? Still playing it?
I was real worried about how long it had been since you got a new guitar. A nylon string guitar is the best thing you can have when you’re working on theory, scales, arpeggios or practicing new songs. I keep one in the TV room and quietly work on stuff while watching TV. Can get a hundred hours of quiet practice in during football season alone. Do it for the NBA and you’ll be a master by playoffs.
Nylon string guitars have wonderful tone. Much underused outside South America and southern European countries. Also right piezo pickups work better with nylon than steel strings
love the sound, but man, those classical necks feel so W I D E! feels like a sidewalk. speaking of flamenco, if you've never gotten into the "gipsy kings"... well, no time like the present! check out the tune "djobi djoba" by the GK's... just atmospherically beautiful! they speak french, yet sing only in spanish. comprised of mainly 2 families, one family produces singers, the other guitarists. and truly gipsy heritage. i've seen em live twice... they replace family with family. now the grandkids are in the band!
Sweetwater must be recently started doing the sending of photos of the actual guitar you purchased. I bought a guitar from them in 2019 and no photos back then. I like that experience of seeing your guitar before it arrives!
Cool. Thats almost the exact same set up Im getting on Black Friday...except I think I'll get the blanca and a used loudbox mini. Ive been learning some bachata on my Cordoba f7 and im wondering how the GK Studio is going to sound with chorus
Sounds wonderful! Playing and the guitar. I’ve often thought about getting a nylon stringed guitar. Played a Martin nylon for a bit and really enjoyed it. Cool!
Great video as always! Is this the Negra or the Limited? They both have dark back but two different woods - Rosewood vs zirikote I think. I’m deciding between the two hence asking. How do you like it so far after a few months since unboxing? Thanks!
Sean, I traded my Martin Jr for that same GK Studio Cordoba. I love it. How about a B minor song and as the GK stands for Gypsy Kings how about Hotel California as played by The Gypsy Kings. It has both fingerstyle and some flamenco strumming.
Start with A major flamenco chord to start a Buleria, hitting the Bb note on the G string, then strange things like E7(b5,b13,no3), next is Bb(#11) , walking B C A on the A string, back to A major... and a few fast arpegios on the E Phrygian scale, that's how to become a real Flamenco poser.
Did you actually say fishman on fishman action? I don't don't even want to say what that sounds like... BTW...last year I bought a Taylor Academy 12eN that is around the same price. It has a slightly narrower nut making it an easier transition from steel. and come on...its a Taylor! But I totally dig the Cordoba!
If you want something that sounds like a nylon jazz guitar on a budget and not a flamenco guitar, then maybe this is for you. Not even vaguely flamenco sounding !!
No, it is rosewood back and sides, not solid, plied rosewood (still great). Learn up doad. Appreciate what you already have instead of possessing what other people may appreciate more.

Thanks for the heads up! Not sure how I got that wrong!

I’ve been debating purchasing this guitar. Thank you for the review.
I have a Corcoba C7 CD. Wasn't too fond of it for years until I got a compensated bridge. Now, it sounds gorgeous.
It's a rosewood back btw ;)

100% agree.

Just bought a Cordoba Stage I love it
It's such a cool guitar!
Awesome man
Glad to see you got a new guitar from Sweetwater. I am a lousy finger picker and need to focus on that when I get some more time. Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks Joe!
Maybe Hallmark could have you playing by the fireplace in the lodge
I'm down.

I've never played one of the Martins but I need to!
Great video as always!

I'll try it out!
@@seandaniel23 😆🤣
Nice guitar bro 🎸I have a Taylor academy 12NE nylon string it don’t look as pretty as that but it is pretty good !! Cheers from Ireland
Academy nylon has great intonation and radius neck, comparable to Cordoba "fusion" series.
Finally, a nylon-string!
That is one beautiful guitar!!!
I play bossa nova on mine. Great guitar.
I tried the non-negra version and the Lucero 250 sounded identical and cost like $300 less
Hey Sean, have you tuned that thing to DADGAD? That would sound HEAVENLY
Not yet! But I LOVE that tuning
🎶🎵 bought a Cordoba Cordoba C10 🤗
Such a great guitar!
Hey Sean maybe go over the controls a little more in depth and start with easy classical songs possibly go over how to change strings
sounds very nice
i have this guitar :-D its BEAUTIFUL
You are doing very good on the poser Spanish guitar style. The guitar seems perfect for an Andalusian Cadence lesson or two (-:
Finger style.. anchor the pinky as suggested by Tommy Emmanuel?

Finger style on Hallmark baby.
polyphia songs only!😤😤😤
That is not cypress wood. That's some kind of rosewood :)
not cypress back or side , but rosewood and not solid but laminate . Theres better options for negra , like paco castillo , camps , esteve etc.
How are the fret ends?
Thanks for sharing, but I’ll stay with my Taylor.
Also check out Malinda on the channel
This is not cypress. It is a Negra. Usually rosewood.
A Blanca is made of cypress
I play with my fingertips because I don't want to wipe with my left.
Its not a cypress back its a Negra! Means rosewood. Cypress is pale
The back and sides are rosewood…
yes, laminated rosewood. The GK pro negro is solid rosewood
Do it dude! Grow them nails out, this is that guitar I feel sounds better when you play fingers without some of the skin😅 it’s good. Love this guitar

Whatever you’re hearing acoustically isn’t being done justice on my ipad ..sorry.

The back and sides are not Cyprus. The back and sides are Indian Rosewood.
he is talking too muck and is not hip at all ...
you unbox a guitar and don't even look at the electronics?
