Love what she said about small space living. As a family of four who are downsizing from a single family home to an apartment, it can feel like we're "doing it all wrong." There's this myth that owning a home is the be all and all, but Katie's right... It's not. Our family is so excited to be renters again, and to live a more minimal, intentional life together. Alexandra, this is next level. And while I feel like I say that to myself after I watch each makeover video, this particular one really stands out. Not only did you tick every box in apartment living (storage, privacy, separation of work life/personal space, loads of character, and style). You made 'function' beautiful. You filled every inch of that space with so much more storage that you managed to add livable space to that apartment. I might even rewatch this one, because it's that good. Jaw-dropping design, jam-packed with style & design, and I can feel your love for your friend all throughout the space. I too want a bed nook ("nook it!"). Also, a shout-out to your whole crew. Absolutely! Why, why, why do so many designers waste this space! It is just so thoughtless. All that space does is collect that sticky, greasy dust! Yes, tall cabinets cost more. So don't buy so many tchotchkes and spend that money on tall upper cabinets! And I think saving money is why they go with "open shelving." What a nightmare. That trend isn't going to last. I could be wrong, but I didn't hear her say anything about wanting a TV? Possibly a projector and screen, that way, the screen could roll up - or down - and out of way. The projector can be placed on the side top shelf. As far as the projector being tied into internet, etc, I don't know all of that is done; I have seen this with tiny homes and converted vans/busses.

What a phenomenal makeover! Yes, the initial makeover was how I found your channel and that was a great makeover, but this re-do is an impressive showcase of how far you have come in such a short time with your channel, your team, skills, and resources. Your design style has always been excellent, but is maturing even more. Everything about this is 10/10. You added so much more function and storage to the space, and that bed nook is so cozy and romantic. I love everything about this makeover!

WoW. Talking about optimizing a small space! This is truly amazing. Love it. So smart, so well done. From cluttered teen to grown-up. The warm wood, the bright white, the soft pastel colors: they all come lovely together. Because the kitchen is in a different pastel color, which is NOT repeated elsewhere, it optically makes the space bigger! For now they are truly separate areas. Two small things: I'm not so sure about the wood color of the pax closet. I think white would have been better and more quiet on the eyes. Also the pink of the bed linen doesn't seem to go too well with the peach color? But apart from that you've worked twenty miracles in here. Inspiring :)
