Please bring them back together to call the launch of flight 7!!!!!!!
Who is working the cameras? You pull away from the close up of the launch pad just seconds before engine ignition? Can't keep the rocket centered in frame? Compared to filming the launch of Flight 5, this is terrible.
yeah the bunch of camera switching right at launch is very frustrating. Just pick 1 camera and stick with it please? Can always go back and show the other cams afterwards.
@@PeterFamiko-lw8ue from what I've heard, the first booster catch on the last flight was literally like one second away from aborting. It didn't come straight down to the tower, it came down over an empty space nearby, because they didn't want it taking out the tower if it crashed and blew up. But the internal computers confirmed the calculations at the last minute, and committed to the tower catch.
Confused saying, used by mere aircraft pilots, like myself. These guys are testing technology - and their "testing to destruction" methodology has revolutionized the whole space industry...😅 But this is dangerous sh*t - people will eventually die as well. Just like with every other mode of transport on the planet.
I guess the pushed back flaps and the shorter chopsticks will help with the catch. The flaps would be in the way during the decend and the chopstick would make the problem even harder. So both could also have to do with the catch and not only with inertia and heat. It might serve both purposes.
Great coverage, but you guys need to look into the ads and see if you can do anything to prevent them during special live events. 1 minute into the launch and there is an ad, it doesn't make compelling viewing.

@@NASASpaceflight Just so you know Das, there is a bot invasion in the comments for some reason. Why they're posting stuff about misleading titles and ads 1 minute before lift off? I have no clue.
I dont expect the second stage keep slowing the speed of fall. ONly increase in the las 800m altitude and maybe because the start of engines. That mean is a lot of surface to slow down, can work on Mars without parachute or engine start.
Spacex has two launch pad, but only one is in operational so the launch pad computer and the booster need to be healthy, because you do not want to risk destroying your one launch pad. Way stricter rules for booster catch.
If you were to look back at Earth, when leaving the solar system would look like a double tail comet is the best way to share the understanding of it. Abnormality is the normality at this locality.
Honestly the fact that #6 failed before V2 is a good thing because it wont cause any additional delay considering that V2 is already delayed to begin with so they now have that same time to analyze the data and sync with V2. So we're probably looking at #7 in late Jan-Feb 2025 Edit: The booster catch failed. The BOOSTER.
Although the Booster Catch was aborted, another successful test flight by SpaceX. I am wondering though how SpaceX expects to achieve rapid reusability when the Ship keeps getting damaged during re-entry from the plasma created by the rapid descent through the atmosphere. Is it just me or does it it seem that the entire Ship needs some sort of protection? It doesn't have to be as strong as the heat-shield used on areas most exposed to the plasma but something to reduce heat related stress on the remaining exposed steel of the Ship. Great progress so far but there seems to me there's a long long way to go before a crewed Starship flight can be achieved, and before we get serious about traveling to Mars. Who knows, we may have nuclear propulsion by then.
So sad that it was too late for me to watch live, this was great. They might not have caught the booster ( and frankly catching it the first time was against the odds, this is only the SIXTH launch, and only the second try for catching ) but this certainly seems like it's going smoother and smoother with each try. The wrinkling we see on the ships body during re-entry seems concerning, I wonder if it's the result of stress from how aggreesibe their angle of attack was. Could be an area to reinforce in the future. Still burn through on the flap, but not nearly as bad as the last two launches, so improvement there. All in all, this seems like it was a great launch and a good step forward. And since I'm greedy, now I can't wait for Launch 7

Would the booster be less likely to explode during the water entry if while hovering above the water they burned off all the excess fuel?
I would think probably not. The part that explodes is the vapor in the tank, the liquid burns after that. No way to get rid of the gas.
