@@SpongeBobFanatic2K6 Speaking of, if James ever got to voice act in anything Transformers related, I believe he would’ve been great as Alpha Trion or Megatronus Prime AKA The Fallen.
I'm so nervous about this. The live action scene where Hiccup turns his head to touch Toothless is off. The actor turned his head in a way that looked like he knew that's what he should do, instead of the original Hiccup who's unsure and insecure and hoped maybe it would work. I know it's a small thing but it's the subtle character nuances and voice actor inflections that are what make a character special. Just not sure the live actors can compare to originals.
They managed to do what Disney has failed to do so many times. They managed to bring an animated animal to live action without it looking creepy or emotionless.
@angelozenstudios718 bright side she is 80% white Plus, I don't think all of the actors & actresses are from Slavic or Scandinavian descent. Meaning none of them are ethnically accurate. If we just put a blonde wig on the actress playing Astrid she is basically white.
If she can capture the essence of that character and bring something new to the role what does it matter what her racial make up is? I'm not buying movie tickets based on what level of white/black we are seeing. It's a movie about fantasy dragons.
Some stories are best left animated. To be honest, you're just rewatching the same exact story you have already seen but with new flashy colors. It's a remake that was never needed nor wanted. Edit: for those saying "then don't watch it" or something similar, do comprehend I never had any plans to do so. Why else would I make this comment? Remakes ruin the magic of animated stories.
that's practically shot-for-shot taken from the animated movie! only Hiccup seems a bit older here than he was in the first animated movie, but about the right age for the second movie.
they found an actor that was exactly the same age as hiccup when he was casted and only a year older when filming hiccup is 15 in the first movie the actor is 16 on film since it was shot at the beginning of the year, hiccup is 20 in the second film and has visible facial hair
@@The_MEMEphis then Hiccup simply looked younger in the animated version, as I've thought he was 13-14 years old. and I also wouldn't scorn them for picking an older actor for this role, as it's probably a lot easier to work with a teenager/young adult instead of a child actor and you have to take into consideration their age for the second and third movies as well (should they be made).
Whats even the point of this? Why not just make a continuation with a new branching set of characters or something? Why is modern movie making so stunted they think making it live action is great? Its so silly. Or better yet just take the time to ya know make another actually worthwhile animated story and concept?

You know you're getting old when they remake a film that came out well into your adulthood to appeal to the nostalgia of the generation that came after you.
It's always money, primarily. Playing it safe with remakes and reboots, plus a touch of creative bankruptcy whereby nobody has any worthwhile new ideas, or nobody is willing to back a new IP.

I look at it from the perspective of curiosity as to what a live action version of the film would be and whether or not they could pull it off. Is it unnecessary? Sure, but still intriguing at least for me.
It's a blatant cash grab. Hollywood has become a cesspool that just regurgitates the same things over and over but with increasingly diminishing quality
The problem with not making it faithful is people would rather moan about every single detail of it that was changed and was made unfaithful rather than actually watch the film
And they seem to be doing basically a shot for shot remake. I mean why not, if it ain't broke don't fix it. Too many of these movie companies try to remake it in their own way and end up ruining the live action. This seems fine
and I enjoy that to make it fit more with the live action vibes they added in all these little details, like the hints of pink around his eyes and nostrils, and the third eyelid opening too

Nah, instead they should focus on remaking Bad or mediocre Films, giving them a second chance at being great. things like monster house for example, things that had some very good parts, but were dragged down by the rest.
They never do it for a simple reason - adaptations are always made to sell a story to the wider audience, and live action films have a much larger audience than other media like books, comics or animated films. So it makes sense to make a live action adaptation of animated movie. But the opposite never happens.
It’s looking like they did this one for one with the animated version. Even hiccup’s individual fingers are in the same locations when he pets toothless for the first time.
I feel like they're trying desperately to not mess up like Disney did with their live action stuff. I hope they don't overcorrect too much by making it too similar to the animated version.

I mean, yeah as much as the concept of 'remaking a super successful animated movie in live action' is still just as unoriginal, not artistic, cashgrab as when disney does it... we should probably give them credit for the fact that they didn't ruin the already good original material so much that it's visible even from just the trailer. How low the standards have gone tho
Sure. Except if this tendency sticks, we won't see a new animated film in the next ten years. They will just keep remaking stuff.
I'd love to see animated remakes of live action films. I'd love to see an animated Phantom of the opera, Les Miserables, Harry Potter, Never ending story, and an animated Lord of the rings with a bigger budget
Im assuming that is sattire and if so I support u, this film is 1000% going to be a clownfest....
Well, I guess once we remake all of the animated movies there won't be much else to do.
@@tanislater6845 They'd have to come up with a new idea 😱
👀
Dont think that would be a good idea😢
