8 out of nine classes: Have a counter Sniper: "Just don't exist." Edit: FOR ENGINEER, you fools. It's been 6 months, I'm tired of getting notifications from people not looking in the context of the video. Sniper does have counters (besides on trash maps, that is.)
One way to get a sniper is distraction sentry and wrangler, make him think you're stupid so he kills the sentry, and in the second when he reloads, dash closer and being a rock or something. Rinse and repeat until the sniper starts running away for distance. Use the sentry to control areas and use teleported to get behind him
Sniper can be countered by pyro if you set them on fire, it’s really hard to aim when your crosshairs doesn’t stay still. Danger shield? Go spy and decloak far enough to not be heard.
as a pyro main this video has helped me learn how to deal with engineers this video has helped everyone learn things about engineers thanks for helping me become a better pyro
a pile of metal that is useless if unattended to when spawned for the first entire 5 seconds in a game built off an engine with milliseconds to make a difference in gameplay and match outcome*
Scout: Slam a sentry gun onto the ground and scout’s a goner! Soldier: Look out for his rockets! The D.I.R.E.C.T.H.I.T is really powerful so Use the wrangler and you will put the soldier in a disadvantage! and if he uses a secondary or melee weapon, just use a shotgun! Also take the high ground! Pyro: He can deflect rockets, So look out and use burst damage and control the situation you will be fine! Demoman: Disarm traps and Get right up to the Demoman’s face and he will be at a disadvantage! Also Demoknight is has Pyro’s weaknesses. Heavy: The closest thing to a boss fight you can get in TF2! Get up into heavy’s face and strafe around him and you will defeat him! Also use the environment to put the heavy at a disadvantage! Also use your ears, and Use trickery to beat the Tommislav Engineer: Use the wrangler and hud to find the enemy engie’s weakness and shoot ‘em! Having a pal with you also works against the enemy engineer! Medic: Neutral, look out for the Übercharge and stall with the wrangler and have your team distract the medic! Use your shotgun to defeat the enemy medic! Sniper: Super deadly, Try to sneak to the Sniper’s back side and give him a firm SLAP ON THE BACK!! Spy: Use S.P.A.H.S and communication and The Eureka Effect so you can beat the enemy spy and achieve success!
Incredibly well edited, the character themed music matching, the voice lines at the start of each section, the whole animation before each section and the metal sound effect is the cherry on top
Scout: aim gud place gun Soldier: "Its over Anakin!" Pyro: exist Demo: get close Heavy: get closer Engie: use more gun Medic: see engie section Sniper: *NO* Spy: SPAHS
About the whole “seeing their weapon and seeing my weapon” thing I actually did that once. When I was playing soldier I was fighting an enemy bent pyro, I though “ he’s a pyro, he can airblast”, then I look at his weapon and saw he was using the weapon phlog, a couple seconds later he didn’t exist anymore, thanks uncle Dane
That’s a good point. Phlog pyros gave up the one thing keeping them from getting gibbed(Deaths where the victim becomes chunks of meat and not a ragdoll) without any effort by soldiers and demos.
That "Spies have patterns" section really hurts my soul. There have been a few times where I was doing my thing and I get HARD read because I was doing the same thing for a bit too long. It's really hard not to get salty when that happens.
Well some spies i played against, just kill someone and get back into the same position. a lof of spies killed me and they went back to the same spot. so when i respawn i shot in the corner or in the same place they were hiding and done lol
I was thinking of this one instance where I was running around everywhere with DR, and this one soldier (who, yes, I talked with about it afterward) felt like I was being aggressive and would hang out by spawn after triggering my DR. So, when I was around spawn, he feigned me, and then just hung out instead of moving out and correctly predicted I was going to stay at their spawn. I wasn't even hanging around spawn all that much but he knew I would have stayed there. Feelsbadman.
yea i usually get a few kills (on a day that everything happens nicely) then i slowly (pretty fast) start to lower my kill rate and just swap off after about 7-10 mins
Thing is spy is so hard to play, positioning is really hard and even when your positioning is perfect, sometimes you get unlucky and a soldier accidentally shoots the wrong way and you’re dead. Spy is the worse class in the game because his weakness is really bad, paying attention and communication. While you can use communication as a spy against them such as “demo is spy”, you can use thst info to outplay them. Spy revolver does great damage (assuming default) but class like scout exists, even engie shotgun does more damage. Ambassador is hard to aim with and diamondback is actually broken imo lol, best revolver I just can’t aim with it. The only weapon that makes spy play a slightly different way is literally the dead ringer lol. But when you use it, do you want to get a kill or sit in a corner for your ringer back? And even the diamondback is only rewarded if you do “spy” things and Amby requires good aim. And if you can aim well with the amby, while not just play scout? And diamondback requires you to play backstab anyway. Honestly I just think spy needs to be more mobile, I think having scout speed while disguised is cool but that might be too broken, imagine disguising as a scout with a big earner, you are basically a demon knight charging full time lol. Spy just needs a huge buff to make him able to defend himself when he’s caught, because every other class can defend themselves in some ways, spy is very weak. Yea I get spy job is to stay sneaky but I think just something other than the diamond back would be nice
(365 hours on TF2) I started as wannabe Engi main, then transitioned into no main, then a bit of Spy, and now I'm settling on Pyro. #PyroMainRightsMatter I usually try to vary the directions, base exits, and approaches. Preferred load-out: Stock Flamethrower - a reliable choice. Doesn't require build up -by playing the class normally- so I can get to it right outta spawn. Thermal Thruster - compensates my lack of competence in Demo or Solly. Back Scratcher - the way I play Pyro usually doesn't involve my team's dispensers and Medics. All classes need positioning. Even Pyro.
@@DuckieMcduck Nest before : "Um, guys, we've got sentry at intel, can any spy go there with me and sap it?" Nests now : - WHY THE HELL NOBODY TOLD ME THAT WE'VE GOT A NEST IN INTEL ROOM?! F2P's : ...
Useful thing of note regarding Pyros: If they're using the Dragon's Fury, you might as well treat them like a different class, because the way they'll interact with you and your buildings is *totally different* from a stock Pyro. They have much better burst damage and damage against buildings, so sentries aren't nearly as reliable a counter to them, but they're also more reliant on aim than a typical Pyro, so movement is much more useful against them. You're basically dealing with a slightly less sturdy Soldier without rocket jumping (unless they're running the jetpack), but with the effective range of a Scout. And piercing projectiles instead of splash damage. Keep your distance, don't stand behind your sentry (seriously, don't, you WILL die), and if you have the Wrangler, USE IT. Your best defense against a competent Dragon's Fury Pyro is not engaging with them in their effective range at all. Upshot though is you don't really have to worry about airblast. This *is* of course assuming they can actually aim the thing well, but that caveat applies to basically every class on the list, including even stock Pyro.
Also, Pyros who make extensive use of their shotguns are a unique threat, a common tactic I've seen from a lot of them (me included actually) is to use airblast to keep the Engineer out of max damage range so they can better leverage their superior health. There's a similar tactic used by some Heavy players who don't run lunchbox items (we do exist), where they'll use their shotgun as a burst damage tool that can 2-tap 7 of the 9 classes while once again leveraging their superior health to more reliably win 1v1 engagements
the way i deal with Dragon's fury pyro's is the same way i deal with Heavy. just move on zig zag and shot him as much as you can at CQC since the Dragon's fury users don't normally airblast mid combat as it's like asking for death and the more they miss, the harder the fights gets, like Heavy
I am really impressed on how the captions highlight the important parts and how the dialogue of the enemies are highlighted in RED. Keep up the good work :D
Another note about spies, listen for voice lines from enemy spies on payload maps, i.e.: "Why is the cart not moving?!" in Spy's voice when you're on Red is a dead giveaway to a nearby Blu spy. This is especially common right after a backstab if they don't disguise instantly.
I can't tell you how many times that line got me killed after doing a backstab. If Spy didn't say that line I would have that second backstab and escape without a problem but instead the person immediately turns around and destroys me.
Actually as a totally legit engineer main, I can say for sure that hearing that voice line means you are PERFECTLY SAFE and can have fun tending to your dumb little sentry :)
As a Demoknight main, we tend to avoid Engineer nests like the plague, though if you are away, we will ALWAYS somehow be right around the next corner to add your head to our collection.
Well hot damm the Well recognized yet humble Uncle called "Dane the Sentry man" liked my comment? If I had money I'd screenshot this and put it on a Conscientious Objector just to brag
Bro one time I was playing as engineer and I was being chased by a scout. I was in a position not ideal for any of my tools, and knowing my aim sucks, in an act of desperation I set up a sentry. The scout shot and killed me, and somehow, my slow building stock wrench sentry fully built and killed the scout. That scout was so bad at countering me he couldn't take down a sentry that wasn't even built yet
@@derekg5006 Yes, that moment when the sentry slowly builds up when nobody's touching it and starts shooting at people is satisfying, I don't know why.
@DamnMerasmus Objectively false. Scout's primary is literally just a shotgun with an additional 25% damage ramp-up, and regular shotguns can still two-shot light classes at point blank.
Closed captions are still banger. Appreciate the work on this video. Still to this day, this video is epic, cool, informative, and funny. Thank you for the cool video, Uncle Dane!
The thing that makes this video cool is the intro to each class and the themes in the background it makes each class feel unique and it makes that person watching know that the creator put effort into the video even when its small things like this.
Time to put on my tin hat and dissect this "seemingly harmless intro." It seems like Dane's Engie receives a negative response from the audience about his announcement of the construction of any building that isn't the dispenser, the classic Dane intro building. I'm willing to propose that this seemingly comedic intro is a very subtle allegory to Uncle Dane's dilemma as a youtuber and overall huge community figure for Tf2. I'm willing to bet that Dane often wishes he could try and upload something new and different than what he usually does, but he fears (and knows) that his fans and the community he's built up all these years wouldn't be so accepting of any sudden change or experimentation that he'd have in mind. That's why the Engie seems visibly irritated, and sighs as he chooses to just give in to the demands of the audience. Because he represents Dane, knowing that it'll be a lot less harder for him in the moment to just satisfy everyone's desire for the "good ol' classic content" instead of following his heart and intuition to create something new for a change. Or maybe it's just a quirky intro and I'm reading this much into it as half of a joke and because its 1 am, lol.
It seems possible. I do remember where every time a tf2 youtuber tried to play something different their comunity where like "hey, don't become a Muselk" as to tell them "it is nice that you try new things, but it will be better if your main focus continues to be tf2 context and you won't became a sell out" Like, no offense but this is a old game that barely gets updated. Ad some point there will be no more context to make about tahg fits that specific youtuber formula or they simply not enjoy it anymore.
1:30 Can we just take a moment to _respect this man's closed captions skills?_ I mean *seriously* HOW does he do all of these special effects? Italicizing, bolding, background colors, even different color text _with special outlining!_ I wish every RUclipsr did this...
making captions like these take a lot of time for a video length like this, so I can see why most youtubers don't bother with captioning their vids! luckily the program I used (Aegisub) made the whole special formatting and whatnot more easier and efficient, but it still does take time
Friendly reminder that the official counter circles are as followed: Demoman hard counters Engineer Engineer hard counters Scout Scout hard counters Demoman Sniper soft counters Heavy Heavy soft counters Pyro Pyro soft counters Spy Spy soft counters Sniper Soldier doesn't counter anyone No one counters Soldier Everyone counters Medic Medic counters everyone with uber
5:37 According to Uncle Dane, Soldier soft counters Engineer Sniper arguably hard counters Heavy, who has less mobility than an Engineer Spy also soft counters Heavy, a large, relatively immobile target Pyro, the best Spy checker, arguably hard counters Spy (and hard counters Demoknight) 23:03 Observation and communication are the ultimate hard counters against Spy
except scouts and pyros, because pyros can just airblast the medic using uber or the guy taking advantage of the uber to their spawn again anytime they have ammo and scouts can just run away and come back when the uber is gone and kill the medic
Not a lot of people would talk about this or even notice this comment, but when the captions are put on for the video they are absolutely amazing. Some of the best looking and fitting ones for any youtube video
SUN TZU said that, and I'd say he knows a LITTLE more about fighting than YOU do, pal, because HE INVENTED IT. And then he PERFECTED it so that NO LIVING MAN could best him in the RING OF HONOR. And then he used all of his fight money to buy TWO of every single animal on earth. And then he herded them onto a BOAT... and then he BEAT THE CRAP OUT OF EVERY SINGLE ONE. And from that day forward, anytime a bunch of animals are together in one place, it's called a TZU! UNLESS IT'S A FARM!
Hey Dane, fun fact: the Gunboats actually don’t reduce the amount of self damage you take from your rockets if you hit an enemy with that rocket. So, the advice regarding demo man about using explosive self damage to finish off your enemy also kind of applies to the soldier
soldiers can shoot at their feet and your feet at the same time when you get close to them and thus get gunboat dmg reduction aswell as get distance from you and even air strafe to dodge your shotgun shot

I dont even play tf2 (console) but i very much agree with this, just now i (truly) discovered tf2 last year and i can definetely see what keeps this game so good Compared to overwatch or fortnite tf2's community is the most "alive" in the sense they still care deeply about the game while the other two just really want the game to die for some reason
I think my favorite thing about going 1 on 1 with other classes as Engineer is that everybody massively underestimates you. Even with no sentry around, I seem to do better in direct combat as Engie than I do as Scout, and the only reason I can think of for that is my opponents not giving it their all because they expect me to go down easy.

Imma be honest, as a medic myself, I see everything as a danger, and when I notice that I'm vulnerable to the enemy, it's syringe gun for distraction and sprint near the closest teammate. If a crit-boosted engineer ran around a corner I'd be dead before my brain even processed what happened.
thats why medic is one of the hardest classes to play, you get paranoid you will die because your best defense is 5 dps at long range thats why when i play medic if i see doom i start taunting as long as its not laughing its a 50/50 shot if you live while your taunting just call over a teammate to save your life then you save theirs everyone wins

#PyroMainRightsMatter
I usually try to vary the directions, base exits, and approaches.
Preferred load-out:
Stock Flamethrower - a reliable choice.
Even Pyro.

Or set up your sentry on the mid roof to annoy the whole team. I've done nothing but build on this roof for the last 3 months

Don't turtle
This is good. Thank you.
the way i deal with Dragon's fury pyro's is the same way i deal with Heavy.
just move on zig zag and shot him as much as you can at CQC since the Dragon's fury users don't normally airblast mid combat as it's like asking for death and the more they miss, the harder the fights gets, like Heavy

The sentry missed because scout was the protagonist, like the stormtrooper does

I think sentries in the lore are a lot more deadly but really slower
Another note about spies, listen for voice lines from enemy spies on payload maps, i.e.: "Why is the cart not moving?!" in Spy's voice when you're on Red is a dead giveaway to a nearby Blu spy. This is especially common right after a backstab if they don't disguise instantly.
Or if they’re using the YER

I can't tell you how many times that line got me killed after doing a backstab. If Spy didn't say that line I would have that second backstab and escape without a problem but instead the person immediately turns around and destroys me.

Compared to overwatch or fortnite tf2's community is the most "alive" in the sense they still care deeply about the game while the other two just really want the game to die for some reason

That's exactly how I feel when playing medic
Hmm but people expect scout to have low health too
@@sgas they also expect scout to have high damage and dance around his enemies
@@LucyTheBox they don't underestimate the ubersaw crit rate tho

@Manek Iridius Quite possibly, yes.
That and they make the game worse by existing.
Sniper doesn't fit in TF2 for the same reason that assault rifles wouldn't fit in TF2

sniper: anything.
medic: walk right into his melee range and become a free 75% uber.
engineer: *fake peppino intensifies*
pyro: equip the southern hospitality and give him/her/them a hug.
spy: walk backwards toward him.
heavy: walk toward him.

Hey look, Scoober is back
I missed him a lot today, it's good to see that he has gotten better at the game
IM LIKE 69!!!!!!!!
I think the teleporter intro is good. I imagine it projecting Uncle Dane's face after getting built. And have the Iconic "Uncle Dane" at the bottom.
