I re-build lithium batteries since a lot of years.....I could write a book about this unuseful and DANGEROUS video ! Every step is ...incredible ! 👎👎👎
And I add : a dead cell, even with some new voltage in it, stays a dead cell without amps ... simply control the balance of your "new" battery after recharging and 5mn use, man! .... But do you simply know what is the balance?
I never saw such a stupid video.... Please , Please don't copy these "technical instructions" !!!!!

WARNING! Handling batteries is very dangerous! They can explode and ignite very quickly and cause very serious injuries! Use strong gloves, goggles and even a plexiglass shield if possible to protect your face !
In addition, the battery used to weld the battery at the end of the video is a Saline battery, made of Zinc and Carbon. This is a battery technology that is no longer found in stores. You have to buy this type of battery in specialized stores or find it in stores that sell unsold stocks that come from other countries in the world that still use this battery technology that is no longer of interest compared to the much more durable Alkaline batteries.
In Alkaline batteries, you will not have the Carbon rod that is used for welding at the end of the video. And the metal used to surround Alkaline batteries is not Zinc, it is aluminum.
To make solder flux, you need hydrochloric acid and the zinc that surrounds Saline batteries. It doesn't work with Alkaline batteries.
The chemical reaction between Zinc and Hydrochloric Acid is called Zinc Chloride.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge and contributing your ideas! Currently, AA or AAA batteries (with carbon bars in the core) are very popular in our area. Devices that often use these batteries include wall clocks, children's toys, TV remotes, air conditioner remotes, etc. In addition, repairing any device requires skills and safety knowledge. Once again, thank you very much, my friendly and approachable friend! ❤️❤️

first off all the exploding thing about batteries is bollocks spread by petrochemical companies , look at jennas video when she stabs an iphone battery and nothing happens , and i myself have 3 lipo batteries , (1 for 7 years) that have expanded , but yet no flames or fire (and i have shorted 18650 as well). but the real question is why go to the bother when you can buy a new cell for a couple of dollars

One suggestion to everyone that has these types of batteries: Never leave them outside when the temperature goes below freezing for they all have steel casings on each little battery and we all know what happens to steel when it get real cold. Moisture collects on them and makes them corrode and then shorts them out and then they are junk. I don't know why they don't use stainless steel when they makes those batteries but there again it is all about making all of us buy more batteries and in a nutshell it is all about the mighty $$$$$$$,

You can make it work without having to do that because it's dangerous. If the voltage of each battery is not the same, it will not be possible to charge it, so if you charge the battery with an extremely low voltage to a voltage that is equal to the battery with the highest voltage, then it is OK.For rechargeable batteries, the battery is charged internally. If there is a control board inside, charging will stop automatically, but if there is no one, it will explode if it is overcharged. I think it's probably a 18650 lithium battery inside, so if you buy a dedicated charger, you don't have to do something this dangerous. If you don't have one, you shouldn't do this. It would be more expensive to imitate and burn down your house.

You forgot to mention, that even with the dangerous and outlandish stunts in the video, this is still a temp fix. As usual, Cell No#1 went out of balance and dud and now its weaker, even with a balanced recharge (not done in this video) it will go dead again, only quicker.
You are much better off replacing that cell for one in a better condition and of the same used capacity as of the other cells in the pack. (better yet replace the lot for others with a matched spec)
If you don't know why, or don't understand the terms in the previous line, don't do it in the first place.
And forget about that home made battery holder with wood screws, especially the screws, like WTF were you thinking!!!

This is a viiidiiooo how to go blind or kill yourself or burn down your house. Please, do not to anything that is shown in here. If you want to jump-start a battery cell, then there is special chargers for that. LiIon batteries needs variable voltage and variable current to charge. In this video USB powered one luckily does not have enough amps to start a cause a trouble but this is more like luck not science. Also waking up a cell is always 50/50. Arc-welding the cell is another stupidity. Spot welders for such a small job costs under 50$ in amazon, use proper tools not soldering iron!

What you're doing is very dangerous!
The maximum charge voltage of a Li-ion battery is 4.2V and you're doing it with 5V and without any control of the charge current, which could cause the battery to overheat, leading to a fire or explosion.
You are irresponsible for broadcasting this on RUclips.

    • @GausDIY
      @GausDIY  2 месяца назад

Hello, thank you for your attention, I appreciate your caution. However, in this video I used a 5V charger to charge a 4.1V battery, the voltage difference is 0.9V, with this parameter in a short charging time it is insignificant, it only makes the battery slightly hot and everything is under control and very safe! Wish you good health and peace!

@@GausDIY Eu doar mi-am exprimat parerea si daca am deranjt imi cer scuze.
