You hit the stalk when flailing the wheel about frantically. I know. Coz theres NO reason to use the indicators in the forest at night on a special stage.
This truly really just shows that Captain Slow really is just slow for the public road and about being sensible and practical for daily driving. Between this and the Bugatti in the speedring, he can and will drive fast when appropriate.
No not really, it was an awful car with snap oversteer, don't make stuff up, it was never good at racing in any guise. It was an awful handling car that wasn't well engineered.
@@bzilla-d4i All what you said is a 1000$ fix. Plus you cannot ask more from a small wheel base car that weights 1.1T, rear engine and that can have from 250bhp to 450bhp
i loved this episode when i was young and completely forgot about Mays MR2. i’ve accidentally bought 2 cars featured in a TG special, an MR2 like here and a Bugeye WRX wagon like in the Africa specials
its not they dont wanna do it anymore its more of they cant theyre just growing old. top gear is VERY VERY physical they cant handle that physcial strain anymore they claim this was the best times of their lives but sadly have to end it.
Absolutely loved when James, Hammond and Clarkson all narrate each of their own cars and strengths as they race through the track A bloody timeless classic way ahead of its time in terms of car reviews and comedy
One of my favourite TG segments this is. I'd love to give a Rallycross a go one day, I quite liked playing it in the DIRT Rally games! 5:25 Yes Hammond, YOU about 10 years or so later! 😂
I love this challenge a lot. Just unfiltered joy and appreciation for cars and racing. Sometimes TG (and the rest of automotive media) gets lost in the glamor of million dollar supercars, but every so often we get something that's really pure of spirit like this.
I really missed the days they were more down to Earth, more in connection with people around them, Grand Tour changed all of that and went more american, grandeur TV, big sceneries and expensive cars, it really was never the same. But an era has ended, and what a shame, TG was a TV show you will only see once in a century.
You think TopGeat was down to earth? WTF? 😂. What did you find down to earth? Where they raced a veyron across Europe agaisnt another guys private plane? Or was it when they raced a Mclaren SLR to Norway? Or maybe when they turned a truck into a boat and sailed it to france. Oh i know, it was when the turned a reliant robin into a space shuttle. This was perfection of Top Gear. Best episode and very fun to watch ,I missed this very much. Anyway every single episode is on internet and 50% of The Grand Tour and Top Gear greatest hits I've in my hard drive so my life is not over🤠🙌💯

I absolutely ADORE Lydden Hill, it's got to be my all time favourite RX track, It's also what prompted me to start doing Motorsport Photography, thank you Top Gear, for bringing my love to cars and motorsport
This reminds me of the day I went gokarting with a bunch of my friends. It was outdoors and we also had bbq like they had in the video. My first time driving a gokart and even two hours later I was still pumped. I didn't win but it was still so much fun
I saved up for a mr2 when i was 23 yrs old back in 2002 and saved up 7k, got to that point and was like i better save 10 percent on a house. For i saved 15k by 26 yrs old. Glad i did that then that car. Made my whole life easier. Bought first house at 28. Now i look for one and there going 20k plus for a decent one. Ol well

First episode of Top Gear that I've watched. Read online that Kimi Räikkönen was on it so I wanted to check it out. At the end of the episode I was super euphoric. Best tv show that I've had watched by far.

Hammond's choice of car here was perfect: an old small cheap hot hatchback. I'd have gone for an old Focus with the 2L engine.
not a bad choice, but id go for an old impreza wrx. 4wd traction and 200 bhp would be hard to beat.
