That's why it was essential that they lied about him to as many people as they could as fast as they could. They correctly recognized this guy as a major threat from day one.
He’s had Trump and Vance and they both shot the sh!t and had great conversations. I can only imagine how much of a train wreck it would be to have that weirdo Walz on here lying constantly and Kamala trying to make a complete sentence
You tell by how they relate to the family addiction crisis in Appalachia. Just bro talk and understand where each other comes from. I found it interesting them talking about the recovery programs also. James David or JD is a good man.
I like that he cusses, normal people cuss, he isn't in front of children he's speaking with another grown man and freely expressing his opinions, I respect that.
You're exactly right. The journalist have a script that they have to go by It's faking phony It's not genuine it's not authentic It's not from the heart It's from HRC and has been for a very very long time.
I could be wrong, but I think that was a Mitch Hedberg line/joke 🤔 Either way, Theo delivered it beautifully. Even if it WAS Mitch Hedberg, he's been gone so long, Theo could make his jokes all his and they'd be just as good today as they were 25 years ago!
I like when people feel the need to point out that Theo doesn’t talk this way privately amongst friends “ you know that’s just a character he does on podcasts!!” Oh, you’re telling me he’s not trying to be funny 100% of the time and has an entertaining podcast persona? Such a scandal.
As a Black person, I appreciate him saying "Black people/Black folks" because I hate being called African American - I'm not from Africa, I'm from America, so if you're not going to call me American, just call me Black, dammit!
Facts! It’s like the equivalent of calling white people “European-Caucasian Americans”. Like what? Nobody says that😂. Just say black, and if that makes you uncomfortable you’re probably racist and projecting
Man Im 21 years old and my moms been going through addiction since i was in 9th grade , She’s the worst she’s ever been now drinking every day shes just not the same person but JD talking about his mom gives me hope that i havent felt in a long time , when he said he didn’t think his mom would be around to see his kids , man thats exactly how i feel right now , Dont even know why i started typing this but thanks JD for givin me some hope
I just wanted to give a big shout-out to JD Vance. Hearing about his journey with his mother’s recovery from heroin addiction really hit home for me. His compassion and understanding around addiction show that he truly gets what it’s like for families dealing with these struggles. It’s rare to see a leader who speaks from personal experience with so much empathy and insight. Knowing that he’s out there advocating for those who’ve been through it makes me feel so much more hopeful. JD, thank you for standing up for us and showing that recovery is possible. You’ve got my respect and support!
MSM and Walts: Vance is so weird Vance: Son of a recovering drug addict, loves Ohio State football, and wants to have drink while being a good dad. I’ll take this kind of weird
And changed every single thing about himself overnight as a GROWN MAN Repeated a Nazi group blood tribe s lie about black peiple eating animals Took 30 million from billionaire Peter their for his senate race I could go on but YOU probably don’t want to hear it
JD Vance is such a wholesome & relatable guy. As a woman born and raised in Kentucky, addiction has affected my family, life, and marriage. I respect him so much. Props to you, VP Vance. I 100% see him as our future president. And I'd vote for him no matter who he's up against. ❤
JD is the first guest I’ve ever seen on here that knew every time Theo was joking and laughed in all the right places. Every time. Totally just a regular dude who gets it.
dude can sit down on a podcast with THE Theo Von and hes comfortable. When hes on stage in a rally having to defend trump at all times, he just becomes weird
Right on. As I asked my friend (who leans left a fair amount) who told me the same thing "So, ask yourself WHY did you have those preconceptions and opinions about him? You may want to find out what else they've been lying to you about."
I definitely like his down-to-earth background and hearing about his family story. But remember, he's a charming politician. It doesn't take much to start seeing some serious flaws in what he says. For example, Trump lost the last election...and yet Vance still won't admit that in any conversation I've heard from him. Here's another...Trump had more former lobbyists in his administration than Obama. So don't buy their grift when they talk about draining the swamp. Vance had integrity when he correctly called out Trump's issues back in the day. I don't trust this new version that can't stand firm on basic principles like the peaceful transfer of power.
@@lapdawg60 Because of the words that come out of his own mouth, the things that he refuses to answer, extreme shift in views and loss of integrity that coincidentally coincide with an increase in power.
@@wildbear2472 /sigh. Unfortunately, youtube will instantly ban any comment that would correct what you mistakenly believe about this topic. I could direct you to literally hundreds of serious, reliable sources, that prove much of the claims Vance is implicitly referring to - but again it would be instantly removed. And because of the echo chambers you have been in you have not seen those sources and those proofs which is why you believe this nonsense about the "peaceful transfer of power" and what happened with the last election. I'm sorry to say
When jd said "i remember growing up and thinking my mom is never going to see my children" that shit hit right at home. JD is a man of the people for sure
Because he doesn't believe women should have control over their own bodies, for one. You can be a "good guy" to hang around and want to enforce 'bad' things.
@@hmmboostit’s more than just “their” body though. Im for abortion given extenuating circumstances (if something would happen to the mother, sexual assault, etc) But to act like you’re not killing a life isn’t the best basis for a statement about his character. I’d argue he’s trying to save lives
I think it really goes to show how far Theo has come that his last comment is “we’ll be cheering your mom on”. What a genuine, compassionate dude for recoveries.

JD Vance is bankrolled by Peter Thiel who founded Palantir, a big data analytic software whose only contract for the first seven years of its existence was the CIA. They now work with every intelligence agency in America such as the NSA and FBI, so that these agencies can purchase privately-collected data from Palantir to domestically spy on US citizens. Palantir also provides Israel with proprietary AI software called "Lavender," that determines where Israel should drop their bombs on Gaza, many times resulting in civilian casualties. If you're a conservative, you should be asking yourself, "do I really want the next-up candidate for President of the United States to be someone with deep ties to the intelligence community?" Are these really principles that you should support? How did we get to this point where these are our two best options? How did Vance go from serving in a Senate seat in 2023, which was bought and paid for by Peter Thiel, to being a Vice President nominee in 2024? Does this seem organic to you? Is Peter Thiel praying for a war with Iran so that Palantir's services can be broadened, increasing its overall value while increasing his net worth? Why would he bankroll Vance to the tune of $15,000,000 if not for some ulterior motive? Vance certainly seems hawkish on going to war with Iran, given his remarks about "hitting Iran hard." All of the details above should concern you, regardless of your party affiliation.

Being enmeshed in an addicted family dynamic is extremely hard to extricate yourself from. It took me decades and came at great personal, psychological, and financial cost. Happy to say I am in a much better place now :)
I'm from the UK, so I probably haven't had as much exposure to JD Vance as most American viewers. I only really know what I've been told about him through the mainstream media, but honestly, he seems like a pretty chill guy.
That’s some huge improvement the trump presidency brings. He’s not a politicians, doesn’t lie, say how things are, what you see is what you get etc etc. I’m tired of politicians who just don’t give a f, they’re only there for their own pockets and own positions. The ⬅️ is d*mb as a rock anyways but to actually directly vote for deepstate and fake created celebrities is laughable and shameful.
@@davethepieman12 MSM are the propaganda machines. They only tell the public what THEY want us to hear and see. In order to seek the truth and fact check what you've heard or seen, do your own due diligence and not just rely on the MSM.
How much of a breath of fresh air is it to have a guy just sit down and have a down to earth normal conversation and not try to sound polished and rehearsed. Hes just a normal guy.
I honestly didn't hear JD Vance speak for more than 5 seconds before this interview. And I'm thoroughly impressed by his openness, empathy, and relatibilty. I hope the American people see through the smoke and mirrors and vote for people who truly love America.
He is the most liked politician in the world right now. Or at least he will be very soon. He's the most transparent, honest, down to Earth politician in history. Trump is a genius for picking him, because Trump could have picked several others, but he picked Vance, even though people didn't think it was the best choice at the time.
I’m so glad y’all are seeing this about JD because the media are horrible liars and the Biden / Harris administration. They have to lie because they have no good policies!
Yeah. I found it weird when Walz called him weird. He is the most regular American that has run on a major presidential platform in a long time. Regular Americans have a dark complex history, and some contradictory views. We all have the relative that went too hard into drugs, it is refreshing to hear about actual struggle. No idea about his policies though. I heard that he likes Lina Kahn’s policies in the FTC, which is objectively insane. Normal people have ideas that are a little off the wall too.
@@Zeno7741 I banged a couch once when I was a kid… it’s not that weird, he was just honest about it. But yeah, I’d rather have dishonest politicians too. Being honest is weird.
JD is the kinda man I don’t think we’ve seen in politics in many decades. Once you get a sense of where he came from and try to wrap your head around where he’s gotten himself to as a man, Dad, Husband, etc -100% this is the type of unwavering down to earth humble guy we need as representation in the District of Corruption
Absolutely..I'm not ignorant enough to think any of them are completely straight..you have to be some type of way to make it that far in politics but I know we would be in the best hands with him and Trump
He's like Trump...very relatable. I can't see Kamala doing an interview like this one. If she had a real conversation with Theo, she would be exposed. Same for Rogan,
I am loving these recent podcasts with political officials. It feels very relaxed and you really get a feel for who the person is. The person I was envisioning JD Vance to be is completely different from who I saw in this interview. Very refreshing to see.
he had some great one liners during this interview. i also liked semper fat and that line about not even being able to do cocaine in this country anymore
I’m a Marine Vet, grew up with a mom and dad that were addicted to drugs and alcohol, both gone now, 317 days sober myself, and living in Ohio. I had heard of JD before he was selected as the VP candidate and I liked him before. I love him now. I hope to meet him and work with him my career at some point. I have also been a fan of Theo for a hot minute now and I have to say, the brave step to be real, humble, and honest about life and the things we experience as normal folk, it’s so awesome to see. This episode was so real and I am so thankful I watched.
I just wanted to congratulate Theo von for this podcast and trumps podcast. You took no sides and asked excellent questions about real issues that nobody thought you were capable of doing. You proved all the haters wrong
Here is one thing I've learned in my 44 years on this earth: Whenever I feel like I need a drink - I shouldn't drink that drink. It has never ever improved anything for me. At best it has done nothing for me - at worst it has worsened already bad situations. If you are not an addict - like I am not - drink to be happy and social ONLY! There is no situation alcohol or drugs can fix... It might make you forget for a very short while, however what you temporarily forgot will always come back to you - and sometimes 10 times as hard - and sometimes with added problems!
It’s not an issue of the feeling. It’s an issue of escape from issues and responsibilities called a vice. All humans have them alcohol and drugs just make our bodies chemically addicted to them after abuse. Making it insanely hard to quit leading to hellish nights you couldn’t dream of.
I'm not for trump l...but Jd Vance is far more likable here, than on any other platform I've seen. MSM, either extreme side...is horrible, biased, sound bite laden, and often puts people on the defensive. This format is so chill & while I don't agree with some things...this interview format, more personal, open, is so good. My impression of JD has shifted.
I read his book years ago and then listened on audiobook - he reads it. I highly recommend listening and while doing so, keep in mind he had no plans to run for office when he wrote it. So good!
Hey, I love to hear it. But right now. Look at your next 24 hours. Find out how to get there and vote. No kidding. We need the "almost voted" people. 👍👍👍💯
@@theresaproctor72I read his books years and years ago as well when I was still allowing the DNC to exploit my liberal ideals. I lived near where he grew up. My mom met him when he was running and he was so kind to her. He truly has the heart and soul to become a great politician. One who actually TRULY cares

The fact that J.D. Vance gets Theo's humor makes me like him a lot. Would love this guy to be President one day. 4 years of Trump and then 8 years of Vance. All of a sudden a burst of happiness came over me realizing this is a possibility!
I like jd so much after this interview. He seems like such a normal guy just sitting down having a real conversation. He’s not selling the election. He’s not going after opponents. He’s not selling high hopes. He’s just there cussing and having a real conversation about life.

What stood out to me was how Theo was quoting Bernie over and over and JD Vance was respectful and interested and agreed where he thought Bernie was right, even though Bernie is on "the wrong side of the aisle." That's humility and intellectual honesty and I'm ready to vote Vance in 2028
JD Vance has actually had quite a few bipartisan views and bills that he's supported. I do respect that quite a bit. It's important we get past the black and white thinking in this country. Fingers crossed.

Theo is doing more to decipher modern politics than anyone has done in the last decade. He is helping all Americans understand the system. Vote for who you want but understand how these people work.
I agree he asked some great questions, I was super interested in the “what’s the strategy for campaigning” questions. “Do you and Donald get on the phone in the morning?”
Honestly, i was so unsure about jd Vance but I’ve been watching many of his interviews and with every one I listen to I’m pleased to hear is a normal guy with some common sense. To add, he was so respectful NOT condescending towards Theo when asked about what per capita.

@@notfamouschristopher And it's crazy how a billionaire can be more "average Joe" than the establishment politicians. It really tells you how strange it's all become. I've said for awhile, that politicians are essentially hiding their humanity, hiding who they really are-- because if they're not perfect, their career falls apart. That's starting to change a bit, but for a very long time that's how it was. So what we essentially got were the best scam artists, the best con artists. The people that were best at hiding their humanity, hiding their dark side. Because normal people, even good hearted decent people, fuck up from time to time. So these picture perfect politicians? That takes some high tier deceit.
This changed my view on JD quite a bit. As somebody who works in the federal government it is a breath of fresh air to see a guy that is just a normal dude fighting for what he believes. Great interview!
That's what the left hates the most, 'normal' white dudes! They can't stand anything not queer or quirky, especially in power!! Which is why they have to say he is weird.
I was skeptical about Vance, and I mean VERY skeptical, but he's solid. Is he perfect? Hell nah. Needs to be tougher, more aggressive, at least in my opinion. But he is HANDS DOWN the most relatable person of the 4 running for the executive branch. Ol boy has a promising future in politics if he does the right things for the people

I'm not personally a huge fan of Trump/Vance, watching from Australia. But I hope that their success means that the Democrats have to pull out an actual populist leader, instead of continually trying these establishment dummies. I'm also glad that Vance seems to debate like a normal politician, which would hopefully mean you lot will return to choosing candidates with a little more respect, like Vance... Fingers crossed though, since Trump's first win didn't send any shockwaves in the Democratic party, we'll have to see if JD will be challenged by a competant and genuine left-wing candidate, unlike Ms Harris who could only repeat the same 5 sentences every time she appeared and is more conservative than our centre right party in Australia. IDK if the next 4 years are gonna be a golden age for the US like you expect, from the outside Trump gives off the vibe of a Herbert Hoover more than he does an FDR. I think JD is gonna be challenged by a fierce and ambitious opponent akin to FDR (the metaphor makes even more sense considering WWIII is just around the corner, whether Trump says he can prevent it or not, its coming).
This is probably the single best interview of a politician I've ever seen. The conversation was so natural and real, but so many extremely important topics were covered.

Came into this interview as a neutralist (only because I hadn’t heard an interview from JD) and within the first ten minutes my intuition is clear on how much JD is a true man of the people. Such a transparent person and natural connection with him. WOW! I love how our collective has grown to welcome and embrace such an authentic person. Profound respect.
Seriously, Theo knows how to host a good conversation but a good guest is what makes it great. Id only seen a little bit of JDs stuff and this really impressed me. Really opening up and talking about some serious issues that you'll hear very few politicians talk about ever. Definitely paints a stark contrast between conversations being had by other specific politicians that are just the same old surface level, scripted bs. People need to see this and hopefully it makes them show a demand for more conversations like this from people in powerful positions.

I didn’t understand the Vance VP pick initially. I thought Tulsi or Vivek would have been a better choice. But the more I hear Vance speak the more I get it. This guy is solid.
He's a better speaker than Vivek, and that's no small achievement. I can definitely see either Vivek or Vance being President in 2028, and the other being the other's VP. Vivek should either run for Governor or Vance's seat in the meantime
Same. I really like Vivek and I’ve enjoyed seeing Gabbard evolve. I remember watching her on the JRE podcast before the 2016 elections as a Democrat Presidential candidate and thinking she was really sharp, relatable and had some ideas I didn’t disagree with. Fellow Brit here, I’m absolutely fascinated with this election, more so than any previous one, probably due to the times we live in. I wish we had a Trump/Vance collab over here rather than 2-tier Keir and the Ginger Growler. I can’t imagine any of our politicians doing an interview like this, maybe Farage or Boris but definitely nobody else. I'm sitting here sobbing listening to him talk about his Mom's struggle with addiction. I too know the struggles o watching a loved one battle their own demons and I'm so proud to call this man our Vice President. Here's another...Trump had more former lobbyists in his administration than Obama. So don't buy their grift when they talk about draining the swamp.

Here is one thing I've learned in my 44 years on this earth:
Whenever I feel like I need a drink - I shouldn't drink that drink.

Now as a liberal independent, I was very intrigued when I saw Vance was Trump’s VP. From what I read about JD’s life, it’s hard to imagine him not having integrity when it comes to actually helping people thrive in our country-not just financially, but in all the other ways that also matter.
I lived near where he grew up. My mom met him when he was running and he was so kind to her. He truly has the heart and soul to become a great politician. One who actually TRULY cares

What J. D. said at 52:48 about focusing on what's bad in your life hit me hard. I've had a rough few years, and it's hard to stay positive.
practice gratefulness. every day. even if it is just because it is sunny and not raining. change your mind, change your life
When I am struggling, I find sitting outside and just appreciating the beauty in nature, grounding barefoot.Holding space to release any emotional stuff that comes up.Allowing a release whether by tears, movement, breath and or intention, then after the release focusing on gratitude. This is one of the most effective ways I know of to shift heavy energy.
And if I don't have the willpower to leave my bed..I just hug my beautiful animals till I can get myself outside to hug a tree.
Sending love through the cosmos!

I agree he asked some great questions, I was super interested in the “what’s the strategy for campaigning” questions. “Do you and Donald get on the phone in the morning?”
I think it says a lot that Trump and JD have been willing to come on his podcast and have a genuine unscripted conversation and the other side hasn't.
Honestly, i was so unsure about jd Vance but I’ve been watching many of his interviews and with every one I listen to I’m pleased to hear is a normal guy with some common sense. To add, he was so respectful NOT condescending towards Theo when asked about what per capita.

Im thankful for JDs existence. This is gonna be the greatest 12 years Golden era here we come
I'm not personally a huge fan of Trump/Vance, watching from Australia.
