    the new PrSM is now officially in service, which is a longer range missile that is fired from the same launchers. because of the medium range missile treaty that was recently scrapped, the prsm will be replacing atacms, so the US has now been delivering stockpiles of atacms to ukraine. i reckon some prsm missiles have also been used in ukraine, clandestinely, for testing

    • @ImperiumLibertas
      @ImperiumLibertas 6 месяцев назад +2

      I understand that there is a replacement missile design but there is evidence the US is over extending itself and is not manufacturing a replacement quantity of artillery shells or missiles. This is concerning when our strategy to counter China is to have more precision munitions to make up for the difference in naval ships and armor units.
      I hope we can wake up and realize we have to take care of ourselves before helping others. Or enhance and fix our production lines to make that possible.
      If it were up to me we wouldn't be involved in any of it.

    • @cymeriandesigns
      @cymeriandesigns 6 месяцев назад +2

      I'd be a bit surprised if any Prsms have been used in Ukraine. The chance that Russia could capture one or analyze debris to determine how they work and their capabilities would be too great. They're the cutting edge of missile tech and we want to keep them away from the enemy as long as possible. It's one of Germany's reasons for not sending Taurus missiles to Ukraine.

    • @cymeriandesigns
      @cymeriandesigns 6 месяцев назад +15

      @@ImperiumLibertasWitholding aid to Ukraine and their resulting defeat would make US involvement with China more likely. We're better off helping Ukraine and ramping up our own production of weapons and ammo than we would be in hoarding what we've got.

    • @ImperiumLibertas
      @ImperiumLibertas 6 месяцев назад

      @@cymeriandesigns how do you figure that? Russia and China aren't the best of friends. They are sometimes very limited strategic partners. Russia winning in Ukraine which will happen regardless of US supplies does not embolden China.
      China is in the middle of an economic collapse that they are struggling to control. The most analysis suggests China will invade between 2030-2035 which gives us between 6 and 11 years to get ready to defend our ally Taiwan. If we keep sending shipments to Ukraine we will not be ready which will result in more lost America lives.

    This is the first video of yours that I have seen and I found it quite informative. I am Canadian and of an older generation and en engineer so I am versed in both metric and imperial unit systems and I found it curious that you stated some measurements in both silly units and metric in one part of the video and then just stuck to silly units in most of the video. That signals to me that you are Americans because you're the only country that has stuck with imperial units (although you buggered up the gallon measurement) while the rest of us have moved on to the much more sensible and easier to work with and understand metric system. I would suggest that in future you provide both imperial and metric measurements for all dimensions and specifications you provide so that everyone watching your video can fully understand them and fully comprehend the information you're providing. Most of the world doesn't understand the units that you use and that's because your units are silly and there's no logical case to be made for continuing to use them other than the fact that the majority of your population is too stubborn to learn metric. We Canadians were tasked with doing that back in the early 70s and we managed to do it albeit probably with some protest and complaints. That same task seems to have proved too difficult for America to complete and you've stuck steadfastly to your system of silly units although I find it interesting that my American made car is assembled with metric bolts. Most of us in Canada now live in a world where both systems of measurement are used and we somehow manage to understand and get along with both systems.
    Being Canadian and an engineer who grew up when we (Canada) were converting to metric, I'm probably more adept at converting between unit systems than anyone but I'm not fast enough to be able to convert the antiquated and irrelevant (to most of the world) specifications you provide in this video to units that are meaningful to me while I'm watching the video. So, if you're Americans and you want only Americans to be able to relate to and understand most of the things you're reporting in these videos then go on only providing specifications in your silly units that the rest of the world doesn't use and doesn't understand. If you'd like to reach a wider audience, then I'd suggest you provide the metric conversions on all the dimensions and specifications you give in your videos.

    Could you please explain ATACMS to us, on a single example, i don't know something like: "Civilians on the Beach - how to be as efficient as possible with cluster amunition"?! Or something like that...I'm just asking for a Friend.

      Lol, russia admitted they shot down the ATACMS over the beach causing debris to fall on the beach on the day it happened.

    3:30 Storm Shadow is a cruise missile and ATACMS is a ballistic missile. It makes no sense to compare them. There is nothing exceptional about a ballistic missile going Mach 3.

      They’re just compared because they’re both notable weapons striking deep behind lines in ukraine so it’s relevant to compare them to see what the differences are.

    This just one single little thing of what USA can do. They have money and run many different weapons programs just be safe. Mostly their weapons are expensive and production rate is low. I mean, this is just a long range artillery system. Traditionally artillery is supposed to be cheap. To compensate they have to hit the target 100%. So you and I can think back and forth about this and where Excalibur is in this range / accuracy / price range. West have stuff that Russia do not. But it cost money and we do not have endless supply. At least we got something the Russians do not. But I refuse to call it artillery cause artillery supposed to be cheap.

    brother dont compare atacms with storm shadow they are not even in the same kind of missile cruise missiles like storm shadow dont go past mach 1 atacms is a tactical ballistic missile so you should compare it to another ballistic missile the kh1101 is also a cruise missile why didnt you pick another ballistic im so confused like of course its faster thats the nature of the kind of missile it is...

    In my opinion comparison between solid fuel rocket and jet propelled missiles is senseless. ATACAM have way smaller range but way higher speed. Those are different types of weapon designed to different tasks and conditions.
