  • The Venetian Macao (澳門威尼斯人度假村酒店) is a luxury hotel and casino resort in Macau owned by the Las Vegas Sands. The Venetian is a 40-story, $2.4 billion anchor for the seven hotels on the Cotai Strip in Macau. The 10,500,000-square-foot (980,000 m2) Venetian Macao is modeled on its sister casino resort The Venetian Las Vegas, and is the sixth-largest building in the world by floor area. The Venetian Macao is the largest casino in the world, and the largest single structure hotel building in Asia.
This month, the hotel is hosting its third annual carnival celebration in a grand Italian style at the Venetian lagoon. Supported by the Macau Government Tourist Office, the Italian-theme Venetian Carnevale is focusing on everything Italian for the festival offering action-packed fun for the family with some of the exciting acts, fusing theatre, dance, music and circus. We like the street performers, a carousel for children, the Zorb ball, a caricaturist, an Italian glass-blowing demonstration, acrobats, jugglers and clowns, musical performances and even opera singing. There are also game booths and face-painting for small fees that go to charity. Apart from the culinary treats at the Venetian, there is also an al fresco snack at Cafe Venezia. They serve pizza, Italian ice cream, coffee and alcoholic drinks, and it's a decent |spot to enjoy the outdoors, observe the fair and watch the crowd go by.
