People don’t realise how hard these guys worked to get into this job. The King’s guard is a very prestigious job and it’s a shame that people take the piss out of them.

I've heard that the Royal Guard purposely chooses horses like that, to keep the tourists on edge. Personally, I think tourists shouldn't even bother with these guys, and not spend any money there. When the revenue stops, the people of Britain will demand an end to the free-loading royals, and they can take these "mock soldiers" (maybe some have served in actual military assignments, I really don't know... but this grandstanding is a farce) with them quite frankly.

I just recently went to London visiting Buckingham palace and it beautiful and saw people making fun of the guards, WHO LITERALLY SERVES FOR THEIR CONUTRY LIKE WHAT??? Respect for these British soldiers.

As an American even I have always admired the British Royal Guard for their discipline and service. I truly respect the idea of on-duty soldiers protecting a very traditional role and place. Even compared to the sentries at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, those guards have to protect several buildings, not just a tomb.
No tourists should be anywhere near the guard. Any area of London where there might be a uniformed guard should be off limits to tourists. Five figure fine and serious jail time for interrupting a guard in any way!

As an American even I have always admired the British Royal Guard for their discipline and service. I truly respect the idea of on-duty soldiers protecting a very traditional role and place. Even compared to the sentries at the Tomb of The Unknown Soldier, those guards have to protect several buildings, not just a tomb.
These are not guards, these are outdated red clowns. Real guards and soldiers are in America.
No tourists should be anywhere near the guard. Any area of London where there might be a uniformed guard should be off limits to tourists. Five figure fine and serious jail time for interrupting a guard in any way!

Dude i saw that video and i didn’t know we had a similar version. My family and i visited england and we had our moments there with a few guards and it was so amazing. As a kid i had no idea they were actual soldiers. Thought it was ceremonial.
