I've never wanted a property more!! I would immediately ask how much extra the owner would need to let most of the collections be left as well. The placement of paintings and religious objects from so many cultures are so magnificently displayed! It is truly a dream of a castle and having watched restorations of these types of dwellings I am aware of the amount of labor and money that goes into them. This place? I can't imagine. I'm obsessed. PS. I just looked at the price and find it beyond reasonable. Thank you for the unveiling of this historic gem!

This is now my favorite castle. With $15 mill, I could live out the rest of my life in that library and bedroom. The extra money is for maintenance and taxes…

Wow! This is an honor to have shared it with you and made it to the top of your list. I’ve always loved castles and it’s so much fun to share them with people. This is the one I would buy if I could as well.
I don’t think you’d need quite so much- the taxes are actually quite low if it’s your primary residence, and perhaps if you were creative and hosted some events or airbnb you could cover most of the taxes and upkeep!

Good morning. In the middle age Europe was not aware of the Feng Shui philosofy. Construction just fulfill the main needs of the owners, in the case of my place the main need was defensive. But although there was not Feng Shui some architects and builders showna a natural ability and expertize that guide them to optimas solutions. Here in Saint-Chartier I do believe it was the case because the castle has very good natural light orientation and also some comfortable temperature. Thansk and regards

There aren’t any elevators, although one could be installed in one of the other towers. Currently no AC either, but until recently most of the properties in the area haven’t ever had it. Plenty of ceiling height for air ducts and room for compressors on the roof though if the buyer wanted to add.

@@ivofornesa513 In general, I agree with the concept, radiators are awesome and incredibly efficient, but I have lived in places with very thick concrete walls, and while they are fantastic in the summer because you will say cool, in the winter or even the fall, once they get cold, the room is cold, and deeply so. The real reason those fireplaces are so large is because they are heating the walls as well as that individual room as the heat moves up and through the castle walls.

I guess that it was such an unusual feature, on those few portals, that it stood out particularly every time the presenter had to duck down, it made this feature, seem ubiquitous within the castle, when apparently it wasn't. Certainly, the children having never experienced an unfortunate cranial crunch, that's saying something about the space being easy to get used to navigating. There's so much going for the place too.
