There aren’t any elevators, although one could be installed in one of the other towers. Currently no AC either, but until recently most of the properties in the area haven’t ever had it. Plenty of ceiling height for air ducts and room for compressors on the roof though if the buyer wanted to add.
I love it. You could have made it even longer and I would have been in heaven. Thank you very well done. Now I just need to find the cash to buy this property. Where is that cash? Anyway? Guide me in the right direction. I want this property.😊
My thing is while the radiators might heat the bathrooms (maybe), there is no way they are heating any of the other rooms. You will definitely need to use those fireplaces.
Hello You are completely wrong there. Heating works fantastic and also hot water arrives immediately to any room and floor. Fireplaces are cute but it is a big job to be filling logs. Still 42 chemmines. Regards
@@ivofornesa513 In general, I agree with the concept, radiators are awesome and incredibly efficient, but I have lived in places with very thick concrete walls, and while they are fantastic in the summer because you will say cool, in the winter or even the fall, once they get cold, the room is cold, and deeply so. The real reason those fireplaces are so large is because they are heating the walls as well as that individual room as the heat moves up and through the castle walls.
Hello Seattlebeard, That would had been a great idea in the moment but monastery life is like in jail. You leave with the same things you entered in. But life in monastery gave me better vision on collecting. The sad things is that many of the monasteries I lived in were years later closed because lack of vocations and were given by free to local municipalities. My order had 7 monasteries in Egypt and all of them were abandoned; then...If I had knew that then I am sure I would had keep many books for me. Regards and do not hesitate to be curious. Ivo
Hello, I am Ivo. In fact, around my place I know already 7 USA citizens who own very nice properties, 4 manors, one monastery and 2 castles Not difficult at all. Regards
Hi! No, most of the furnishings and decor could transfer with the chateau for an additional million according to the owner. Specifics would have to be negotiated, of course!
Hello, I am Ivo. I own the castle during 16 years. I want to sell because 2 reasons. First, my wife and 4 kids are all living in Asia and would like to be with them more often and, secondly, this castle is already finished and I have another old building, castle too, waiting to be fully restored. Believe me, to do so is not a busines at all but is very passionating and you constantly learn stuff, historical, arqueological, new techiniques, etc. Thanks and regards, Ivo
Looks like a fun house to own, except for the low doorways. You'd be jogging around to get to and fro within the complex, then ram your head into the wall trying to get into a room. One supposes that it's a protected building and this is a feature which cannot be improved to take into consideration modern heights.
Good morning Yes, people are taller now but there are only 4 low doors in 3400 SQM One in the inside secondary entrance to castle 2 in the outdoor tower One in the comic book tower My kids are all 185 cm up and never an accident You get used and, as you very well mentioned, is part of the historical features of the place Thanks and regards. Ivo
@@ivofornesa513 No problem, thanks for the explanation. I guess that it was such an unusual feature, on those few portals, that it stood out particularly every time the presenter had to duck down, it made this feature, seem ubiquitous within the castle, when apparently it wasn't. Certainly, the children having never experienced an unfortunate cranial crunch, that's saying something about the space being easy to get used to navigating. There's so much going for the place too. I like the thickness of the walls, the idea of being able to withstand a barrage from trebuchet, is rather forward thinking, the way the world is going, heh.
Thanks for your advise and inputs .You clearly are an expert in historical properties, restauration and global economy. I will not hesitate a second to contact you for my next home. God bless you. Ivo
Hello, only the english tower has to be restored and already has all the electricity, water, heating and seawage pipes installed and the garden gallery toom but this is a very special project and I I have the plans doner. Those 2 buildings can be restored with public funds because is National Heritage but these taks are for the new owner. @@ivofornesa513 Thank you, maybe so I also think so, when I watch all the spaces in this video from beginning to end, they are very special, and the talented hands of the ancients, currently in my country, are building build this classical architecture.
Oddly, all I could think is, "If that huge oven that pipes to the outside needs repairing, whom do you call?"😅 Okay, I also thought, "Cool library. Beautiful windows. Can we bring back the moat? If I had four million, I'd buy it."
Hello> The pipes, curiously, in this region is easier to find the companies that repair roofs, pipes and tiles than other artisans. The moat, believe me I would love but it is impossible now because so many pipe lines under the ground and also, would be difficult for the entrance and cars. But, in its moment I asked for the permision to rebuildthemoat and it was rejected because the reasons I mentioned. Also I would have to change the local river plan. Regards
Through the closet -wall stair im sure is how lovers used to secretly encounter 😂
Dear Caramelo Sanchez, interesting name. In the beginning, my very latin nature, was inclined to think about that amatorial purposes but, later, according to how it was done, I think it was just for hiding during Revolution or other conflicts. Regards
@@ivofornesa513 could be as well... I didnt think about the lover purpose because i'm latina but because through the history was a very common practice 🤷🏽♀️
Saludos
@@ivofornesa513 gracias 😊😊
Another amazing tour, great work!!
Timestamp 17:10 for EVIL Philip!
Haha yes indeed! Thanks for watching Steven. New one coming up soon!
This was immense fun to watch ⌚ but it's probably costs 4 million a year in upkeep
Let’s draw that floor plan!
Manuel, I would love that. Only you could do it!
Where are the elevators? Does it have central air?
There aren’t any elevators, although one could be installed in one of the other towers. Currently no AC either, but until recently most of the properties in the area haven’t ever had it. Plenty of ceiling height for air ducts and room for compressors on the roof though if the buyer wanted to add.
@@philipwellsrealestateI've been very curious how running modern plumbing electrical and hvac lines in these historical buildings.
this is an art nouveau chateau....!!!
the dogs are Leonberger😊
Ahh thank you! I am reading about their history now. It looks like they are a blend, but I’m glad to know their formal name
@@philipwellsrealestate by the way, the castle is a dream.....
I'm pretty obsessed with it! Thanks for watching
I could not live there without the furnishings . Are they available ?
It could be negotiated- I think the owner mentioned it could be bought as-is with nearly everything, art, furnishings, equipment, etc for an extra $1M
@@philipwellsrealestate ❤❤❤

I love it. You could have made it even longer and I would have been in heaven. Thank you very well done. Now I just need to find the cash to buy this property. Where is that cash? Anyway? Guide me in the right direction. I want this property.😊
Wishing you good luck in finding it 🍀🍀🍀
Thanks for watching :)
I love this - was letzte Preis? :D
€3,750,000
Beautiful! Now how much does it cost to manage per year?
My thing is while the radiators might heat the bathrooms (maybe), there is no way they are heating any of the other rooms. You will definitely need to use those fireplaces.
Hello
You are completely wrong there.
4 million after seeing this looks like a great deal. Now would there be a furniture package with existing furniture or is some or all be included?
Hello Ron, only the building but if the buyer is nice people we can arrange somethings for him/her. Regards. Ivo
Absolutely amazing do you have one question though? Does the castle come with everything inside or do you give them a year to move out?🤣
James, I really like your idea. Thanks
me thinking, hmmmm 4 million?? like i could buy it
Does the furnishings come with it
Most of the furnishings can come with it for an extra million (but not the art/artifacts)
"The owner used to be a monk." Given all the religious antiques, did he loot the monastery?
Hello Seattlebeard, That would had been a great idea in the moment but monastery life is like in jail. You leave with the same things you entered in. But life in monastery gave me better vision on collecting. The sad things is that many of the monasteries I lived in were years later closed because lack of vocations and were given by free to local municipalities. My order had 7 monasteries in Egypt and all of them were abandoned; then...If I had knew that then I am sure I would had keep many books for me. Regards and do not hesitate to be curious. Ivo
I wish France was a Monarch today.
So sad & such a shame its not anymore.
R.I.P French Royalists.
R.I.P gone Kingdom of France.
A monarchy is an authoritarian regime plus religion as tool of coercion and a static social hierarchy. You wouldn’t like it, not a bit.
Is this still for sale? I'd like to know how hard it is for an American to buy this... thank you
Yes it is- email me at philip@philipwells.com and I can give you details and outline the process
Hello, I am Ivo. In fact, around my place I know already 7 USA citizens who own very nice properties, 4 manors, one monastery and 2 castles Not difficult at all. Regards
Only $4M? That's a steal! (No I'm not being sarcastic.)
It really is. Thanks for watching- make sure to watch the Ivo video too, when it comes out!
What about all the furnitures and decor? is included in the price?
Hi! No, most of the furnishings and decor could transfer with the chateau for an additional million according to the owner. Specifics would have to be negotiated, of course!
Oui oui baguette 🇫🇷 ✨️
All furniture and fittings and art work included?
Some of it can be sold if the price is right- Ivo can chime in here!
Amazing, but the short portals and main stairs make me claustrophobic
Gonzague, How long has Ivo Fornesa owned the castle and why is he selling after so much renovation?
Hello, I am Ivo. I own the castle during 16 years. I want to sell because 2 reasons. First, my wife and 4 kids are all living in Asia and would like to be with them more often and, secondly, this castle is already finished and I have another old building, castle too, waiting to be fully restored. Believe me, to do so is not a busines at all but is very passionating and you constantly learn stuff, historical, arqueological, new techiniques, etc. Thanks and regards, Ivo
😍
for 4 million this is honestly a bargain, compared too the homes you can buy in California for 4 mil, this is like, wild.
It really is. This is the price of a 3BD condo in Manhattan, and not even one of the nicest ones.
Looks like a fun house to own, except for the low doorways. You'd be jogging around to get to and fro within the complex, then ram your head into the wall trying to get into a room. One supposes that it's a protected building and this is a feature which cannot be improved to take into consideration modern heights.
Good morning
Yes, people are taller now but there are only 4 low doors in 3400 SQM
One in the inside secondary entrance to castle
2 in the outdoor tower
One in the comic book tower
My kids are all 185 cm up and never an accident
You get used and, as you very well mentioned, is part of the historical features of the place
Thanks and regards.
@@dleetr Hello dleetr; believe the way the world is going I do miss having a moat with crocodiles. regards
@@ivofornesa513 👍Perhaps one day i'll be selling hand picked Crocodiles, to all the fashionable Castles.
@@dleetr I believe it is a great idea, if you have the Egyptian variety I will take a dozen. Regards
And this astonishing castle is „only“ 4 Mio? I think for this kind of property it is a bit low.
I also thought it was a deal, that’s one of the reasons we decided to the video!
Which country is the location of this property.??
France 🇫🇷
That house needs restoration it’s worth way less than what it’s going for, specially with the location and the economy, less than half the price.
Thanks for your advise and inputs .You clearly are an expert in historical properties, restauration and global economy. I will not hesitate a second to contact you for my next home. God bless you. Ivo
👏🎯❤️🇧🇷
Beautiful place, but there is still a lot of work needed to be done for that castle.
Hello, only the english tower has to be restored and already has all the electricity, water, heating and seawage pipes installed and the garden gallery toom but this is a very special project and I I have the plans doner. Those 2 buildings can be restored with public funds because is National Heritage but these taks are for the new owner. To buy a fully restored property is not interesting, each new owner should add a part of his/her soul in the place. The rest of the castle and dependances are completely finished and in perfect and modern conditions. Thanks and regards. Ivo
@@ivofornesa513 well said.
Thanks and do not hesitate to ask.
How tall is he?he had to duck to get through a lot of doors
