I had a eureka moment as soon as i saw the first bird: These are attempted reconstructions of extinct modern animals, that thing seemed to be intended as an ostrich, even having myths associated with them incorporated into the creature such as trying to stick its head into the ground (and failing miserably). They all happier to be pretty dysfunctional judging by some of their self destructive behaviours such as the chameleon thing mutilating its own tail or the antelope exploding their throats.
Recently went to a conference on the subject of animals, and one of the participants said "the best definition of human nature i can give, is that humans are animals who study animals." And somehow this resonates with me whime watching your superb animation and story, the main 'human' protagonist studying the other living beings, as well as the 'far-in-the-future bird-giraffe' which seems so subjugated to watch the story of its creation as a reconstructed species, both made me see that being re enacted here. Amazing work, please dont let go of that creativity, each detail was great, story wise or animation wise.
There's people who think that taking the closest living relative of an extinct animal and altering them to more closely resemble the extinct species is the same as "bringing back" the extinct species. And I wanna show them this. Paleo reconstruction ie difficult when its just art and we're trying to guess what traits they would have had in life. I csnt even fathom how much more complicated and difficult properly recreating the animal in real life without its original genetics would be.
This is really under-appreciated, you really took the concept of how we would inaccurately reconstruct modern animals if they were extinct to look like how we reconstruct dinosaurs to a whole new level. Kudos to you Amigo
Even taking our most modern dinosaur reconstructions into account with all the fleshy bits and colours. Most of the time when people have a message like this, its about slightly older "Jurassic park" style reconstructions, but here we have antelopes full of waddles, giraffes with massive shaggy coats, and what seems to be a lot of all yesterdays references which is really cool.
I didn't like the part where the inaccurate antilopes s****ded exploding their throats with their mating call sacs. It disturbed me and made me a little sad… Why?! 😭🤢 But anyways, i like what you did the whole animation about, i gave you a like cause i like the story :)
@@leilaclarridge5807 EXACTLY! but have you also ever thought that this wouldn't have hapenned if the man showed the book or ever found the book, they would still have lived peacefully and naturaly. Maybe if my opinion is wrong, you can tell me. 👍
