We were classmates/friends in high school. Great guy and very very bright. I don’t believe anyone saw at that time the level of success he eventually unleashed on the acting world. His role in American History X is uniquely one of the best performances I’ve seen.

Yeah, I agree. I, like many, have watched Fight Club I just don't know how many times, my favorite of his. But he really gets to act alot as the lead also in American History X. Amazing movie, seen that too a number of times. I would recommend 25th Hour also. As far as being humble. He seems that he is. But when Dave was checking off some of his career highlights, I think Edward was thinking more along the lines of "have you seen any of my movies(?), and would you care to comment?!". But nope, nothing. Dave overall, seemed dismissive of Edward and at the very least just tolerant, and I think mocking when he said you're a regular Rich Little. If anyone didn't catch that, then you haven't watched enough of Letterman. I honestly thought Letterman was overall indifferent to edward. Ed Norton is one of the best actors. He gets into character with such ease and believability. After I saw him in Primal Fear, I was sold. I flipped out at the end of the movie. He is so convincing. I try to watch all his movies because he is such a superb actor. He has such range, convincingly playing either a good guy or a bad guy. One of the greatest actors.

But what convinced me that he was top 5 of his generation were the smaller roles, the subtler ones, like The People vs Larry Flynt, Kingdom of Heaven, and The Painted Veil.
Wow. This is one of the greatest talk show interviews I’ve ever seen. Edward Norton is so quick and smart. Dave, of course, is a complete genius. He knows exactly when to lay back and exactly when to inch forward. This is gold star entertainment that was thrilling to watch.

I remember reading Primal Fear, and thinking it was the best book I’d read in ages. Not long after, the movie came out. It was excellent, and my first time seeing Edward Norton. I hoped he’d get more good roles because he was so good. He’s been in a lot of movies since, and they were all good. Ed Norton, imo, is a fantastic actor.
Ed Norton is one of my favorite actors. He was especially good in " The Illusionist. "Primal Fear" may be his best work. Looking forward to seeing great things from this extremely talented young man.
My two brothers and I took my parents to the Producers on Broadway right around this time and as with Mr. Norton's show, Nathan Lane called in sick and we saw the understudy, who was indeed excellent. But it was a crushing blow to my mother, who was a Broadway aficionado and was so excited to see Mr. Lane in person.

I remember reading Primal Fear, and thinking it was the best book I’d read in ages. Not long after, the movie came out. It was excellent, and my first time seeing Edward Norton. I hoped he’d get more good roles because he was so good.
He’s been in a lot of movies since, and they were all good.

Rounders. Such a phenomenal movie and all of the cast was incredible.
I liked it too. But I I thought Malkovich was trying too hard to be Russian. Would have been cool to have a real Russian in the role.
My two brothers and I took my parents to the Producers on Broadway right around this time and as with Mr. Norton's show, Nathan Lane called in sick and we saw the understudy, who was indeed excellent. But it was a crushing blow to my mother, who was a Broadway aficionado and was so excited to see Mr. Lane in person.
First movie I saw him in was Primal Fear. One of the best acting jobs I've ever seen.
Norton barely changed his face and voice and instantly *became* Robert DeNiro. Wow!
That subtle Deniro was top shelf.
