Honestly, the pop that Daredevil got in the theater was almost as big as the pops that Andrew and Tobey got, at least in the theater where I saw it. Probably in part because most people had a pretty good idea that Tobey and Andrew were in the movie, but Matt Murdock showing up was kept pretty well under wraps (even though people speculated after Far From Home that Peter would need a lawyer so it would make sense to use that to introduce Matt into the MCU).
Rule of thumb; just always have tossues available, so you don't have to be semi-spoiled just by someone telling you you're going to need them for any given movie.
This is one I regret not seeing in theaters only a little, all the spider men and villains coming together was special. My favorite part is just the Peter's talking and learning about tobey's web's
Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man: 77-79) was not in Spider-Man: No Way Home he was never asked although he has stated he was hoping to be included. Also the scene was after everyone got sent back to there own universes so it wouldn't make sense for a crossover character to appear then.
Peter's blind lawyer is Matt Murdock, aka Daredevil. You haven't been introduced to him yet. I always thought the end credits scene would have been a great opportunity for another MCU cameo. Peter's standing over Aunt May's grave again (it's springtime now) when suddenly we hear "It doesn't have to be this way, you know. I can bring her back for you, Peter....for a price" and from out behind the tree steps Peter Fonda's devil from Ghost Rider.
Ashjeigh, you're not done yet Please don't forget the animated Spider-Verse movies. Just because they are animated doesn't mean they're own thing. They all connect.
The Spider-Verse movies are only connected cause the concept of a multiverse exists. Therefore everything is technically connected even if there's no actual connection between any of them. "Technically" Batman is connected to this, as there's precedent of Batman showing up in marvel comics. Cause multiverse. The only time it will ACTUALLY become connected is if/when Disney gets the rights to Spider-Man fully from SONY and they retroactively make it canon.
@JakkFrost1 Where he's Prowler, which he's never shown to be in the MCU, he's just some random low level dude. It's more a reference to the fact that Donald Glover was the inspiration for Miles being created, than a reference to him in MCU (which is also just a reference to the fact he was the inspiration for Miles)
@@Eidlones that was a confusing, convoluted reply to try and read. The point is, he was still at least implied to be Miles Morales' uncle in Homecoming. He just hadn't become Prowler yet. Few people know he was the inspiration for Miles, I certainly didn't, more would be likely to recognize him from Homecoming.
@JakkFrost1 That doesn't mean that's what it was. It's just frustrating cause you all ignore the business side of things, which has a MASSIVE impact on what gets made, and any connections there are. Something which SONY is desperately trying to capitalize on, by hinting as strongly as possible that they're connected to the MCU, so they can leach their success.
No Way Home is my favorite Spider-man movie, bar none. it used so much from the previous two Spider-Man franchises to make something utterly unique that simply couldn't have existed without its predecessors. So unaccountably satisfying to see all three live-action cinematic versions of Spider-Man going head to head with villains from the previous movies; seeing them interact like long-lost brothers, offering each other encouragement and tips; sharing each other's grief at what they had lost along they way. That last part also makes the movie the most emotional Spider-man for me. I liked this version of Aunt May and as Ashleigh said, it was sad, but that's not why this movie hits the hardest for me. It's also not the bit about Peter essentially having to start over completely alone, which is also heartbreaking. No. For me, it was seeing Andrew Garfield-Peter save MJ...in the way he failed to save Gwen Stacy, or more specifically his grief-stricken relief that he did succeed this time. I've never even seen The Amazing Spider-man movies and Andrew Garfield sold me a whole movie in that one, tiny scene. I hope we get at least one more Spider-Man film with Tom Holland (who is in my estimation the best representation of Peter Parker Spider-Man, a diminutive powerhouse who is perpetually underestimated by friend, foe, and even himself) but I think anything that comes after this, much like the majority of the MCU since Endgame, is going to pale in comparison to No Way Home and will suffer from the absence of both Andrew Garfield and Toby Maguire as the older, mentoring Spider-Men.
"I like Sally Field better than you." - OUCH! In that scene in the hallway where Willem Defoe smiles like that, it totally freaked Tom Holland out and they had to stop for a second (I'm not sure if I saw it here on RUclips or if it's in the extras). He was like, whoa that was so scary!! I have to say, I think this is my favorite Marvel movie so far. It's right up there with Civil War, tbh. I love both of those. Definitely watch the extended version and all the extras.. it's so worth it!
This film shows what it truly means to be Spider-Man. They help people, no matter what. Even their villains. Knowing that the villains would get themselves killed if sent home as is, the Spider-Men *have* to try and help them instead.
No, Ad Lib is the correct term. Improv generally applies to a type of acting where there isn't supposed to be a script. When there IS a script and someone does something off script on their own, that is an ad lib. Maybe next time research the term you aren't familiar with and make sure it isn't actually correct before you make a fool out of yourself?
Absolutely right. In terms of fatigue, if anything, the problem is cgi fatigue, and greenscreen studio fatigue. Then of course there's the obvious problem, bad writing. Technically, superhero movies can really be any genre, if done right, like Captain America's spy thrillers, or Logan's western style "gunslinger's last ride" type of movie. So really, another type 9f fatigue that may be setting in is fatigue over the MCU formula that's been copy-pasted ever since Guardians of the Galaxy. One last type, I think "dark and gritty" fatigue has also set in, but that was more DC's bailiwick, Marvel steered clear of that one.
"We don't need to give Ned superpowers." Well, the only reason he does is that, with all the scheduling shifts, the character that was supposed to have them and be in this movie hadn't made their MCU debut yet.
from her not recognising daredevil i can assume she not saw the shows ^^ sad it was for me the biggest hype moment of the whole show having the tv show daredevil in it xD
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits But you know who else deserves a big thank you? LAURA ZISKIN It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
I agree with you when you say if you can’t accomplish it in 2 and a half hours …. But extended versions are awesome for second viewings. It’s like dessert .
I mean this movie does make me tear up a few times but ASHLEY you totally broke my heart with your end reaction! I’m weeping like a baby - shows you how good Holland has been, that we’ve grown so close to him and want the best for him - he does heartbreak like nobody else 😢
I THINK I figured out a loophole with Strange’s spell. It only affected the world, meaning everyone off world like Thor, the Guardians, and Captain Marvel should still remember Peter
It was a great experience to watch this on opening weekend, there were rumors of Toby and Andrew being involved but it was kept a secret until we actually saw them. Our theatre erupted in cheers
You need to watch Daredevil and the related shows. It’s a moral imperative. The first two seasons of Daredevil are maybe the best TV Marvel have ever produced and will make it extremely clear why everyone on the theater LOST THEIR MINDS when they saw that blind lawyer.
You ask why Peter thinks he's smarter than Strange, but canonically (at least comic wise) Peter is usually considered close to the intelligence of Tony and Reed (Richards). Also the fact that Peter was able to sense the switch in Norman
There are a few MCU moments in the theater that are just great memories because of the crowd reaction: Bucky vanishing, Cap and Mjolnir (BOTH times), Sam's radio call as the portal opens over Cap's shoulder, like 8 moments in Deadpool & Wolverine...and Tobey.
Just from the intro you can tell she's caught all the spoilers from people making what they think are vague comments. Attention Patrons and YT commenters - You're not vague and not clever. Just stop giving stuff awwway. That being said you should maybe make one of your next series watches be Daredevil.
@10:28 Right as Dr. Strange says "or worse, Wong finds out." He grabs his stomach and kinda groans like something is wrong with him? What's that about?
So don’t worry, this film doesn’t undo the Spider-Man movies you’ve watched. The villains are sent back to branched timelines where they survive, while the original Spider-Man movies remain intact as the main universe, well two universes, Toby and Andrew. For example, Norman Osborn returns to a branched timeline of Spider-Man (2002), likely sometime after the Thanksgiving dinner scene, now cured of his Green Goblin persona. It’s possible he even survives into the events of Spider-Man 2. In this new timeline, Norman might even assist Otto Octavius, ensuring his experiment succeeds, a stark contrast to Harry, who only funded the project without much involvement. Doc Ock, on the other hand, returns to a branched timeline of Spider-Man 2 (2004), right before he sacrifices himself to destroy his fusion reactor. In this timeline, Norman is still dead, and some fans speculate that Doc Ock might use the Stark reactor he acquired to create a new, unlimited power source. Of course, this is just a theory, but it opens up intriguing possibilities. Sandman also returns to his timeline, now fully cured, likely finding peace with his daughter. These characters, much like the variants seen in Loki, represent alternate versions of themselves within the multiverse. As for Electro and Lizard, they return to their respective branched timelines as well. Since Lizard was pulled out after finding Peter’s camera, there’s a chance he was cured before he could kill Captain Stacy. This could lead to a timeline where Peter and Gwen stay together, although history might still correct itself, with Captain Stacy’s death occurring at the hands of someone else. In any case, the original Spider-Man films you know and love remain untouched. The multiverse concept simply allows for these alternate outcomes without overwriting the stories we cherish. Each universe (Tree) having it's own branches of history that allows for alternate outcomes.
This was one was really fun to watch in the theater. Everybody went apeshit for Andrew and Tobey showing up. It made everybody want another Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie. It would be cool to do a Spider-Man movie where he's a full-grown adult and not just a teenager all the time.
my kids and i are two generations of spider-fans and went to see this opening night with two of their friends. entire theater went nuts. probably the best movie of that year
The blind lawyer is Matt Murdock. Hes known as the superhero Daredevil. Amazing superhero show. Definitely recommend watching it. You wont regret it. It started in 2015 and ended in 2018 and had 3 seasons. It ended because it was on Netflix and Disney wanted to make their own streaming service. This was one of the most hype moments in the movie outside of seeing Tobey, Andrew, and the villains again. It was loved to the point where they're bringing back Daredevil early next year!
Mr. Blind Man is also another New York-based Marvel superhero - Daredevil. He had a show that ran for three seasons on Netflix and a fourth season becoming to Disney+ in March (and a movie with Ben Affleck in the role back in '03 or '04.) Though Daredevil and Spider-Man have met and teamed up many times in the comics and cartoons, this was the first time they met in a live-action movie or show.
Dr. Strange is responsible for everything that happened in this movie. He didn't have anything resembling a real conversation with Peter before pulling out the spell. Didn't ask questions, didn't explain anything and didn't set parameters.
Fun fact, that scene after the bad guys start running away and peter fights Norman in the hallway, they used moves from the Spider-Man game you streamed.
Fun fact : J K Simmons, who plays J. Jonah Jameson, also played him in the Toby McGuire films. I don't think that Jameson appeared in the Andrew Garfield series. So (if we ignore the TV series from the 70s) there are three Spidermen, three Aunt Mays, two Uncle Bens, at least two MJs (with different names), but only one J Jonah Jameson. What this implies about the multiverse is an open question.
I’ve seen this movie so many times and it still blows my mind. How is Willem Dafoe so much scarier without a mask on than he ever was in the original? How do they balance all these characters so well? Why does that ending break my heart every single time? It’s a bonafied masterpiece. If you want a special treat Ashleigh, look up the audience reactions to this movie and Endgame. No experience like it!
That blind lawyer? Oh, that's Daredevil.

Nicholas Hammond (Spider-Man: 77-79) was not in Spider-Man: No Way Home he was never asked although he has stated he was hoping to be included. Also the scene was after everyone got sent back to there own universes so it wouldn't make sense for a crossover character to appear then.
Thank you for putting that into my head-cannon for this movie now! 🤣
I can see it. Ned just gave up summoning Peter Parker after he got the youth pastor. Nick was still out there.
“Okay, but can those three shoot ROPES?”
@@Eidlonesthere is actually one small connection though, with live action Donald Glover having a cameo in Across the Spiderverse.
"You're a senior in high school. What makes you think you know more?" Ashleigh answered her own question.
20 years later and Dafoe still kills it as Norman Osborn!
Fun fact: Zendaya throwing bread at Andrew Garfield was completely ad libbed.
Improv is the word you're looking for
No, Ad Lib is the correct term. Improv generally applies to a type of acting where there isn't supposed to be a script. When there IS a script and someone does something off script on their own, that is an ad lib.
Maybe next time research the term you aren't familiar with and make sure it isn't actually correct before you make a fool out of yourself?
This is the movie that proved Marvel's problem wasn't "superhero fatigue"
"We don't need to give Ned superpowers."
Well, the only reason he does is that, with all the scheduling shifts, the character that was supposed to have them and be in this movie hadn't made their MCU debut yet.
Shang Chi?
@@somewhatdweeb5194America Chavez.
@@somewhatdweeb5194 America Chavez from Dr. Strange: The Multiverse of Madness.
from her not recognising daredevil i can assume she not saw the shows ^^
sad it was for me the biggest hype moment of the whole show having the tv show daredevil in it xD
They gave AVI ARAD a big thank you in the credits
But you know who else deserves a big thank you?
LAURA ZISKIN
It was because of her and her partner (the screenwriter Alvin Sargent) that the original trilogy and TASM1 had depth
Arad on the other hand just wanted to use the movies to sell toys
The great thing about Norman is that when the Goblin is in charge they take out his fake straight teeth and show Defoe's original dentures :D
It only affected the world, meaning everyone off world like Thor, the Guardians, and Captain Marvel should still remember Peter
ooooh... that's a hot take!! You could be right!
Was it just the world or the whole 616 universe? That’s what I’m thinking. That would include all those others.
Hair and makeup was great today.
You ask why Peter thinks he's smarter than Strange, but canonically (at least comic wise) Peter is usually considered close to the intelligence of Tony and Reed (Richards). Also the fact that Peter was able to sense the switch in Norman
We really needed Ashleigh to watch Daredevil before this **face palm**.
9:58 she hit the Tom and Jerry scream 😂😂
There are a few MCU moments in the theater that are just great memories because of the crowd reaction: Bucky vanishing, Cap and Mjolnir (BOTH times), Sam's radio call as the portal opens over Cap's shoulder, like 8 moments in Deadpool & Wolverine...and Tobey.
"Mr. Blind Man" the lawyer is Matt Murdock. Also known as Daredevil, from the Netflix series.
Dafoe is soooo good! How he changes from Goblin to Norman at the very end is incredible. Within seconds I went from hating him to feeling bad for him.
The bartender with Venom in the mid credits scene is in the tv show Ted Lasso and you should DEFINITELY watch that!!!!!
“Futbol is life!”
Just from the intro you can tell she's caught all the spoilers from people making what they think are vague comments. Attention Patrons and YT commenters - You're not vague and not clever. Just stop giving stuff awwway. That being said you should maybe make one of your next series watches be Daredevil.
Seriously. Don’t even tell her she’ll need tissues!!!!
I thought that was obvious
I love the Spider-Bros. They’re so awesome and wholesome. I could do with another 20 minutes of the Peter Parkers just talking about stuff.
I have been hopping up and down this morning yelling "Ashleigh is going to lose her $#@$!" I adore this movie!💜
This was one was really fun to watch in the theater. Everybody went apeshit for Andrew and Tobey showing up. It made everybody want another Andrew Garfield Spider-Man movie. It would be cool to do a Spider-Man movie where he's a full-grown adult and not just a teenager all the time.
my kids and i are two generations of spider-fans and went to see this opening night with two of their friends. entire theater went nuts. probably the best movie of that year
Ashleigh with the "Glow Up" on these reaction videos brightens up my rainy day here in the uk 🇬🇧 😍
@40:55 Tasty …. GOAT REACTIONS 🤣🤣🤣
Girl... 😂. That "tasty!" Had me laughing out loud and gathering the dogs (I have 4 cotons). After yesterday's stress, I was looking for laughs.
And here's Max using an Arc reactor for energy??? DAMN!! That's more power than he's EVER had before.
You mean to tell me NO ONE told her to watch Daredevil BEFORE watching this?!?!
The people advising her are idiots.
so many good choices in this movie. characters who are true to themselves meshing in new ways makes this one of the most satisfying watches.
Toby and Andrew being in this was probably the worst kept secret in movie history. 😂
Spider-Man comes up with a unique way of dealing with the villains in this one.
1:34 the spiderman pointing meme came from the animated show Spiderman and his Amazing Friends but they recreated it wonderfully here.
Aunt May said Ben’s line, so she gets Ben’s fate. Oh I cried so hard at that part.
Tbh, they've perfectly set up the concept for Ned being a villain in the future.
"You didn't keep your promise, Peter..."
If no one told you yet, that blind lawyer is Matt Murdock AKA Daredevil.
“IT’S A CINEMATIC KALEIDOSCOPE AND I’M LIVING FOR IT!” ☺️🌀😵💫
27:07 Ned: "And I promise you, I won't turn into a supervillain and try to kill you."
Ashleigh: "Can you promise that, Ned?"
No. No, he can't...
Andrew saving MJ hits like a brick because that was a much needed healing moment for his Spiderman, well acted too.
Your hair is on point again
Literally ❤
Shame there wasn't a cameo from the 1970's Spiderman Nicholas Hammond.
American-Australian actor
Not enough people would’ve gotten it.
You're thinking of What If? -- the Disney+ show. (Evil Dr. Strange.)
Dr. Strange is responsible for everything that happened in this movie. He didn't have anything resembling a real conversation with Peter before pulling out the spell. Didn't ask questions, didn't explain anything and didn't set parameters.
I've been WAITING for this after you made the joke about seeing Tobey in with Tom Holland after watching Fantastic 4.
Fun fact, that scene after the bad guys start running away and peter fights Norman in the hallway, they used moves from the Spider-Man game you streamed.
Oh God I was so excited about this movie because of the three Spider-Men! That was the one time I was really excited about variants...
22:05 this Spider-Man doesn’t have an uncle Ben. Which is why Aunt May said the quote.
Ol'Tobey kind of looks like Jeff Probst in this... Hahaha!!
If you were paying attention- you’ll notice visual nods to Loki’s show too, Multiverse of Madness is a lot of fun.
