Well i would have to disagree from presonal experience. Ive been fortunate enough to have a taser on me in one case and a knife in another. If you know how to properly use a self-defense tool or know basic self-defense, many attackers, who are more often than not not origanized criminals. Now, that being said, i do agree that the best defense is preventing yourself from getting into those situations. And everything i said is only based on my experiences, not fact, and is also based on where i do(have) live(d), so take what i say with a grain of salt.
Anything that needs to be unscrewed or demands a complicated second more to activate works against you in combat. The spork is a definite no for this reason. The backpack looks good. The bolowrap could be handy.
I have one and it doesn’t have to be unscrewed it simply pulls apart making it a very good choice for many applications the knife is sharp and extremely pointed. It will cut easy and stab easy so it is unfortunate that it is misrepresented in the video. You should do your research before you comment negative about something. Glad you didn’t have to learn the hard way thinking you had the upper hand then get stabbed in the neck.
@@randybaumery5090 I had a neck knife. I got tired of the sheath hitting me in the throat every time I pulled the knife out. see, I use a knife about 12 times a day in my normal routine. box cutter etc. and the neck knife didnt do it for me. as a result of my using my edc knife as a tool, it has to be something I can get to often and not smack me about the head when it is deployed. also, as my edc is never what I would call sharp(you can shave with something sharp) it would really hurt a good deal more if I stabbed someone with it. a great way to drive home the "get the fuck away" point. if you stab someone, they should know they have been stabbed, even if the blade is too short to reach vitals it shou fucking HURT or nobody is going to stop attacking you.
The bolo wrap is the only one that I liked. Stopping someone for only a few seconds is a huge boon when it comes to prevention or aprehension, or basically any altercation. Oh wait the flashlight that shot up to 5 pepperspray balls walls actually pretty good, (an added bonus that most people would overlook is that its pepperspray and a light in one hand, therefore it frees up one of your hands which is a huge boon, and it has range). The spork was horrible like you said, using it as an eating utensil would be far more useful, like why the fuck would you just not carry a regular knife which is ironically far superior? Also he said you could use it against a bear, uhhh okaaayy lol. No, just no. The bag was cool but I like it's other features better such as preventing hacking of devices in said bag. So ironically you could get more protection from that potentially. I did like it though, it's just a cool bag, I consider the armor a bonus. The only thing about the bag for me is if you're going to utilize body armor and wear it then why would someone not wear something that covers more and is more common to wear, like a shirt or jacket? The one I hated the most, even though it wasn't the worst, was the first weapon, the knucks with short spikes or blades on them. Honestly you would do way more damage, waaay more, with regular brass knucks Even though they are illegal you can legally buy them just about anywear because they are sold as "belt buckles" because I tiny tiny tiny little peg you cant even notice will allow it to function as a belt buckle. (Definitely keep that in mind if you ever see someone wearing one, it used to be very popular.) The blades aren't long enough to do any real damage in a SERIOUS fight though unless you go for the eyes, throat, or it's a prolonged fight. The way they fuction also takes away a huge amount of your striking power as well since you are essentially holding a springy cushion in your hands. I would much rather get hit by the bladed fist weapon.
I like the whole "you will still be able to flip the switch when you are struggling" yeah because the first thing people are going to think of when they are struggling with an attacker is "let me flip this switch real quick"
Anyone who wants to master any skill needs to know that thousands of hours practice is required just to perfect the physical aspects (muscle memory) to act without thinking about the moves. That frees the mind for critical thinking no matter the activity one is doing. The fight or flight response is then becomes a quick controlled decision vs thoughtless panic. A few hours practice can make one reasonably capable and able to instantly assess wise action. Practice common actions without watching your hands and feet so those actions are effortless. I put cars into controlled skids on slick highways, merely by reading a Colorado School of Defensive driving article and practicing the moves described by meditating on them. I earned a 2nd degree black belt in karate in two and a half years even though a severe foot sprain incapacitated me for six months by visualizing every move learned and other techniques only seen demonstrated.
@@philtrimby9574 Yeah you can practice things as much as you want, but the comforting thing about practice is that you know your life is not in jeopardy. And I call bullshit on the 2nd degree black belt in karate. It takes 3-5 years to get 1st Dan and then an additional 2 years to get 2nd Dan. Let me guess, you earned a black belt in BJJ in 1.5 years also?
lol everything except the taser gun is definitely going to put people in danger more than if they had absolutely nothing but their hands. All I know is unless you have a gun, the best thing you can do is be aware and run the first chance you get All these that need you to be in close range with your attacker (who likely has a weapon) to use them or need you to spend some precious seconds fiddling to get it to work can get people killed unnecessarily
You have to have a gun here by default. I despise them because every criminal and every wannabe cowboy has one. That’s what makes this country suck. This isn’t why the second amendment was written. It’s become a war zone in many major cities. Guns have become an easy way for pussies to take what they want. You are safer wherever you are from, trust me. Here if you aren’t worried about the criminals shooting you, you’re worried about the cops shooting you. In my state you don’t even need a license or training to carry. Dangerous shit.
When the state forces you to rely upon them for protection, you effectively become a ward of the state. Which is a fancy way of saying you’re state property!
I can just imagine planning a camping trip in an area notorious for aggressive bear activity. The park ranger issues you and your buddy a stern warning, but you shrug confidently and assure the Ranger: “It’s okay man, we are BOTH armed with Sporks!” 😆
@@joelreed8940 Then you're a criminal who likely committed a violent act against another person. You've forfeited your right to your protection. Guns are to protect normal people from scum like you.
I like how they sound so definite that these gadgets are a sure thing like saying "You can stop ANY threat" And "NO one will even think about attacking you having this stun gun" I would absolutely trust ZERO of these tools to effectively save my life in a real self defense situation. Not saying these tools aren't useful but if you try and dry stun or claw at someone who has a gun pointed at you you will be shot and possibly killed 10 times out of 10.
A lot of these are more like; (Read it with the video's voice) Do you want to piss off your attacker so they will beat you up even more and/ or kill you? 😃
totally agree, most of the stuff in this video is bot unpractical and stupid. i like the yellow jacket case idea, but can almost guarantee it wont work.
Imagine eating dinner and you're attacked by a bear. All you need to do is pull out the knife from the tactical spork, and you'll quickly lose a fight with a bear.
*I am in California and I carry a concealed pistol. It's just a $500.00 fine misdemeanor but carrying a concealed knife is a Full on Felony!!! Make sure it's a piece of junk pistol since getting it back from the police takes 5 to 8 court visits with the judge, $800.00 in fees, reports and document filings plus 60 pages of paperwork, PITA!!! If they take your gun just figure it's gone forever and just buy a new junker gun. BTW-FYI, if you concealed-carry an old civil war 6 shot mussel loader (cap and ball) pistol in California its 100% lethal to your attacker and 100% legal to carry without a permit, even a felon can carry and own an old mussel-loader. These gun laws only apply to MODERN firearms! You can even mail order an old muzzle loading pistol or rifle right into California! P.S. in the last 10 years 165,000 people died from guns. 35% were suicides, 34% where police, 32% were justified self-defense cases while only 4% were murders and mass shootings. THE MEDIA TWISTS THE FACTS. With gun control the people in self defense cases would be 84,000 dead if you include the helpless family members that would also have been victims.*
The backpack is actually good, armor plating aside it's just a good backpack that is quite rugged and impact resistant because of that same plating that protects the stuff inside it.
Unless they shoot you in the head, that is. Protects all vital organs except the brain. I don't know if it's impact resistant for the contents, if the bulletproof part is made of kevlar then it's not a plate at all and if you drop it your laptop will be broken. Or if it gets shot. And I can't think of any rigid materials that are bulletproof and light enough to be in a backpack, a bullet will go through thin steel without any problems. At most it looks like it has somewhat of a plate in the part that touches your back, but from the video, the fabric is bulletproof, and that would be kevlar. It's flexible if that's the case, so no impact resistance.
Please - if considering getting a defensive tool, research this topic thoroughly and train in using the tool. Most of the things presented in this video will not help you in most situations you may encounter - and might even put you in greater danger. Generally speaking, of the items shown, pepper spray is the easiest to use and most consistently effective - but even with this (which may seem simple), make sure you practice and know how to effectively deploy it (grip, distance to target, etc.).
Yeah. I agree. But also, since you look like an expert, can you please tell me if a butter knife thrown at the attacker's face is enough for me to run away?
@@AmenYeshua - Yes, I thought that was a little ridiculous. Most bears will still come at you after being hit with a decent size caliber bullet in them. Unless you're lucky enough to hit a vital organ. You'd literally be ripped apart before you would even do any harmful damage to a bear with that Spork. LOL
For self defense I personally love my backpack. Its very good for melee combat Simple to use Swing the bag its not lightweight at all, 5 - 6 kg mostly school books 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Another thing is the marker pen, yes a simple thing at first sight althought deadly when you taste it
You do realize that, some of these things, could be considered illegal or in some cases, downright useless. The smallest pistol? It looks like a toy. You know that, some of these gadgets, possibly aren't even legal in some areas of the world and possibly the United States.
Just buy a RPG joking but 💯 percent it does look use less I don't think a woman for example is being attacked can say to the rapist or robber hold on while I unfold this into this while packed full of adrenaline
I have the taiser pulse. Thankfully ive not had to use it yet but if i ever have to, taiser will replace the gun if you go back to the scene later, retrieve a piece of the fire confetti and mail it in with a police report. Also looking at getting a burna. They also look great to have.
I've had both tested on me. I'm a bigger guy and these didn't work on me. If you're not against a firearm, depending on local laws I suggest looking into a firearm. .380 or 38 special would get the job done.
you heard it here first, An intruder has the advantage when you have a gun pointed at them, a dart gun is now self defense and if a bear attacks you, simply pull out your handy plastic knife.
The "knuckle duster" you refer to is not a self defense tool.. it WAS but they were made in the early 1900s by a notorious French gang and they are considered antiques. Real ones are collectors items and is not recommended to actually fire them due to the fact that these were handmade , no QC of any kind .. that and they are over 100 years old
Looks cool but when the heart rate gets elevated and things happen fast...it's useless and will probably get you killed unless you walk around with it out and opened in the ready position. a decent standard handgun no smaller than a 9mm is a good reliable round that does the trick
Is this a joke? I love the line on the first one…..”win any fight you’re in with these claws”. You realize people carry guns, right? None of these things would deter an aggressor with a gun.
Exactly. These aren’t particularly useful. But to be fair, I don’t think anyone would say you should use any of these against someone with a gun (unless it’s your only option and it’s clear you are in a battle for your life - i.e., it’s not just a robbery where the bad guy only wants your wallet or purse).
I think you forgot the part where the all-in-one knuckle duster gun is also one of the most dangerous weapons in the world, because it probably won't hit its target since it has no barrel, and the bullet wouldn't be controlled on where to go
Please tell me this video was meant to be a joke... The Taser, cell phone zapper and pepper ball device are the ONLY things on the list that are even remotely legit self defense "tools" I live in the South where practically everyone has a pistol permit. I think I'll stick with my Springfield XDs 45 or my Ruger LCP 380
Yes, and tasers notoriously fail - even when trained police deploy them. Pepper spray is the best of these in terms of ease of use and effectiveness. But yes, against a deadly threat, having a handgun and being trained in when and how to use it effectively is the best option. Unfortunately, I can’t CC in my own state (Maryland), but I can when I travel most places south (I got a CC license from another state).. My little Ruger LCR revolver is a perfect low profile CC option.
A good item to add is the Byrna SD pepper/projectile launcher…it looks like a hand gun but fires solid projectile balls and pepper balls to incapacitate a threat.

Virtually none of these are effective aside from the actual Taser. He really lost me when he claimed Michigan has strict gun laws. I actually want to get shot by that tiny pistol. I know it will be a fart in the wind compared to what I've been through I'm just curious how big. Too many people think gun make u dead. A girl in a school shooting got hit in the calf and laid down expecting to die and when a fire man walked up to her he just asked her if she could walk and then she realized people don't just magically die because they got hit with a bullet.
worked at a stadium doing events as security part time, we was told to be aware of these products to make people take it off and flip it around it we see that name not to let them in
This is full of some of the worst self defense advice I have ever heard. Many of these things are just as illegal as guns, in some places. Attack a bear with a 2.5" blade that's designed for eating? Body armor that only covers your back? A gun so tiny that it's impossible to shoot and is incapable of stopping a person? A 150+ year old antique, that you will never find ammo for? Little metal darts that can barely penetrate a water bottle at 2' ? A pepper ball shooter that "requires no training" ? All defensive weapons require training, they're useless if you don't know how to use them effectively.
Any thing you use, 1) ability, training and knowledge, responsibility of what to do and when .have seen men and women not even know how to load a fire arm or have the ability and knowledge of what caliber it is, but I also hear people say I have shot a 22 or some other gun when they were 10 or 14 and 30 yrs later, do not know how to operate or load it or have a gun left by a relative and rounds of another type or have just a round or two. .when I was in law enforcement was always asked by people who had guns left by their husband or my dad or grandpa, but were totally clueless, and would tell them to have it checked by a gun Smith. MY ADVICE IS TO FIND SOMEONE WHO DOES, being raised around various types of guns and served in the military and law enforcement and relatives who also served in military and law enforcement I gained a lot of experience. But I still meet people that have zero knowledge. GET SOMEONE TO INSTRUCT YOU.....not TV shows or call of duty...
They all look really hood so I saved the video.. I may start buying some of them… Specially that I’m thinking on going camping and fishing though USA, now that I’m retired… Thanks for all the info..
Only criticism I have on any of these is that I highly doubt that tiny knife inside the spork is going to do anything to the bear except make it more angry lol
Well best thing you can do to a predator as big as a bear or tiger that'll almost guarantee that will get off you is stabbing them in the eyes no living thing on this planet can take a eye shot regardless of what movies show hell even if your being attacked by a human or a dog jab the mf in the eyes
im just going to tell you this but the spork that has knife is used for when to cut the food so technically is used for food only not as self defense weapon.
Taser's website or amazon... Though i wouldn't trust them myself. they do work, but actually hitting what you aim it at is a different matter since they don't go far and can be stopped by thicker clothing. and well then thats seveal hundred dollars that did nothing :p
The backpack however is just good as a backpack. Self Defense aside that armor plating is handy at protecting what's inside the bag against impact. And iit's a decent price for a backpack of it's quality anyways with a built in charger.
I am from Canada...and I'm sure all this are illegal here...yes it can be a self defence weapon....but only on the right person...and if a criminals managed to own those weapons, its dangerous...think of the consequences if you use those weapons accidentally ? Pepper spray, maybe, not the gun.

Some of the footage of the Knuckduster looks like it was lifted from a Forgotten Weapons video, especially when showing the one with the rusty finish. This exact design has been around for ages. Stop lying. Get your act together or stop with the false advertising. For example, the BoloWrap: Direct Quote from the company's - "BolaWrap is currently only available to law enforcement and military agencies" Care to explain how that fits the title to this tube. Also, at least 2 of the items you listed are illegal in most states in the US. I'm going to check out another of your videos to see if this is a trend.
Bolowrap might be prohibited in all the countries because it looks like a defense tool kit and no countries worldwide may be able to afford it bare handed 🤔🤔🤔
Bola Wrap It is an old artifice used by the Argentine Gauchos who called it "Boleadoras" to hunt the Ñandú (large birds similar to ostriches) and these consisted of a rope of a certain length with two balls attached to the ends and the size of a golf ball or baseball and threw them at the legs of those birds.
You may want to do a little more research... While Bolawrap is typically sold by police supplier companies, there are many police suppliers who sell privately as well, they simply provide a discount to cops. As for wether or not a product is illegal, that entirely depends on location... Somewhere like the US allows more products than somewhere such as Canada whos self defense laws practically requires you to die before you're allowed to defend yourself.. It would be arrogant to assume you could get every single item in every single country.
@@teddy5004 Seriously? You want to do a little more research? I gave the direct quote by BolaWrap. WRAP continues to receive countless requests to purchase the BolaWrap by individuals, private security, bail bondsman, fugitive recovery agents, mental health institutions, places of worship, and schoolteachers. BolaWrap is currently only available to law enforcement and military agencies. However, the company does anticipate making the BolaWrap available to other professionals in the future." Any police supplier selling it to the public would be at the very least liable if not committing a crime depending on the reason that BolaWrap won't allow it. Next. I said that at least 2 of the other devices mentioned are illegal in "most" states. That means not all and only certain states. You know, the exact thing that you tried to use as a reference for me being wrong because it's not the whole US? And as an additional factoid to your 1/2 ass reply to my comment, I was a member of law enforcement for 15 years. So I am well versed in that is and is not legal. BolaWrap is also currently being sued by multiple people due to law enforcement that started using it discovered that it is extremely dangerous if you don't hit the right area of the body. They had people receive serious injuries from getting hit int the head, neck, arms, etc. So next time, don't make an assumption or accusation that someone didn't do their homework or know what they are talking about.

Glad you didn’t have to learn the hard way thinking you had the upper hand then get stabbed in the neck.
yeah, um... I dont think youre gonna fend off a bear attack with that spork...might be able to cut a steak with it though!
That's why I love a neck knife. It's handy and simple.
“TIME OUT! I GOTTA FLIP THE SWITCH! STOP!”

Strict gun laws in Michigan? You can open carry an AR in public.
It's one thing to buy these gadgets, it's another to summon the courage to use em.

No, the electricity flows between the two posts, it is going to take the shortest route. With that ring you are going to have a localized effect.
A lot of these things would be illegal in many nations!
Yy
The bag seems useful.
Unfortunately for Canadians, all of these items with the exception of the backpack are illegal for the public to own . Not sure about the Bolo wrap, but that's a distance device anyway.
Meanwhile half the states in the U.S. have passed Constitutional carry ( no permit needed to carry a handgun)
But my friend Sam carried a gun and he lived In Canada granted it was a .22 cal pistol it was still a ruger a little sr22, he had a plug in the magazine tho it could only hold 5 at once +1 in the chamber for 6 total
(It was a legal gun idk if he could legally carry it but he legally owned it apparently y’all get guns just heavily restricted calibers and magazine capacity)
@@kdrapertrucker so?
Don’t you Canadians get to vote ?
imagine pulling a spork on someone trying to hit a lick on you☠️
🤣🤣🤣
I'll stick with my carry guns. And my CCW. Which I suggest for others.
Bruh just just shut up.
Since you seem to think that police suppliers give the public things restricted to law enforcement I'll post the entire quote from BolaWrap. " Can the public or private security companies purchase the BolaWrap?
WRAP continues to receive countless requests to purchase the BolaWrap by individuals, private security, bail bondsman, fugitive recovery agents, mental health institutions, places of worship, and schoolteachers.
BolaWrap is currently only available to law enforcement and military agencies. However, the company does anticipate making the BolaWrap available to other professionals in the future."
Any police supplier selling it to the public would be at the very least liable if not committing a crime depending on the reason that BolaWrap won't allow it.
These gadgets are "Get into jail" free passes in a lot of countries if caught carrying them !
These are needed to defend ourselves from cops, the real threat
A friend of mine actually gave me the tactical spork. You pull the knife out of the handle not twist.

Yeah looked like that in the video too.
Tasers wands are illegal in my state its a felony but you can buy them on amazon. I dont think ppl even know its illegal here that carry one
Top 10 self defense gadgets that wont be just useless James Bond/Mission Impossible-ass gimmicks in a practical situation (in no particular order):
1) gun
2) knife
3) keys
4) fist
5) steel toe shoes
6) pepper spray
7) running away
8) blunt object
9) trained dog
10) taser
Bonus) Knuckle Dusters
Yeah… I’ll just use my frying pan
Best ever self-defense is 1-don't go where you know it is not safe and when is not safe. 2- learn 2 run 3-learn 2 run 4- run dam you ... most of these tools will just get you in trouble just getting attacker angry. You can have all weapon you need but unless you really know and are trained to use it - just run. Bolawrap is best - shoot and run :D oh.. sorry... make sure whoever you used it on doesn't shoot you because they fall hard on the ground ... Jokes aside - PLEASE NOONE FOLLOW ADVICE OF PULLING THAT THING TO DEFEND FROM BEAR
ye lol i was thinking that too "oh bear attack, luckily i have my 5cm blade that surely will stop any bear who rips you in half just with 1 paw"
No, any weapon I have could be stolen and used against me. Better to flash light in thier eyes and scream
@@janeprescott7381 may be... I d call 50 /50 on choice to make you stop screaming. 🤞
On the tactical spork, I'm reminded of a fun trick you can play to unnerve an attacker by pulling out a knife and fork, or just a fork, and saying, "Lord, I thank you for this food you have given me," or something to the same effect. Say it as solemnly as possible, then charge like Han Solo and Chewbacca.
Just remember there are two states that do not allow the use of tasers for civilian use Hawaii and Rhode Island
pretty sure most don't. you're probably thinking of stun guns
@@silenthill4 I just found out Hawaii allows tasers and stun guns as of this year in January but they're both illegal in New Jersey they are considered a prohibited weapon
All these are illegal in Australia but these are all really cool and i wish i had all of them. Good job bro

Would love to add that dart launcher to my EDC! It's probably not legal to carry here in NJ though.
Liked and subscribed. I rarely subscribe to channels but I do love tech.
Most of this tech is not practical.
Americans getting ready for school:
Pepper spray in a pen to take down a bear? I'd LOVE to see you try that!
A stuffed teddy bear is my guess.
Yes,pepper spray.Bears have the most sensitive nose in the animal kingdom.
@King of Assholes i mean you would have à chance WITH AN ACTUAL KA-BAR not à plastic one
Bear sprays work man.
The funny part is that bear spray is actually less potent than the pepper sprays people can buy for self defense.
If you spray a Bear with that pen, you better be physically flexible.
Because your going to have to kiss your ass goodbye.
A few more decades and we'll have the laptop gun from Perfect Dark. The funnest yet cheapest and lame guns in multiplayer, although I wouldn't mind using it against certain players I know
im from Michigan its very easy to own a gun here just cant have any felonies like every where else
I’m getting one of them if it’s decently cheap
Most stun guns or bolo ones are 1 shot. Not ideal in life or death scenarios or with multiple attackers, stun guns are also notorious at not being effective againest heavy clothing. Pepper spray one is the only semi useful nonlethal tool, better than nothing, unless you have a real firearm.
The only real good one I can see out of this list is the flashlight with the pepper ball launcher. 5 shots is pretty good for pepper spray.
Very bright flashlight pointed at intruder(would be even better if it had the disorientating flashing setting), then pepper spray all in one.
Inconspicuous because it looks just like a flashlight and since you'll likely be pointing it around the room towards a would be intruder, in one quick motion you could point and shoot the pepper spray at the intruder. As long as you're well aware of all the blind spots in your house, could be very useful.
At 2:50 " Many people fleeing crime scenes are often shot in the back".
WAIT A MINUTE! Aren't almost ALL people fleeing crime scenes CRIMINALS???
This backpack is FOR CRIMINALS??
Always was
Thanks for the info very helpful.
The ONLY thing a UK resident could legally own in this list is the bulletproof bag, the rest is illegal here and some would would get you up to five years jail time in the UK, especially the tazers and pepper spray devices, which fall in the uk firearms act...
Get up to five years for using a taser/ pepper spray for self-defense?! You guys need to do better with your over-reaching government, that's messed up.
@@ruskibrewski9061 - Totally agree! What people don't realize is that police do not prevent crime but usually just deal with the after effects of crime. Here in the UK we are not allowed to defend ourselves. The police can't be at the scene of the crime right when it's happening. So, what the hell are we supposed to do - die? and then hope the police arrest the person concerned so that they may serve life in prison but be out in 10 years on good behavior
Fu,ck that! I'm a guy but I've got a pepper spray disguised as a small deodorant spray which I carry in my pocket whenever I go out. My girlfriend also carries exactly the same item. We would only ever use them should we feel our lives are genuinely in danger. The fact that we could get a longer sentence than our attacker for using the device just goes to show how fu-cked our laws are.
Thats crazy! Ive owned dozens of firearms, vests, tasers, novelty weapons since i was a kid! Never have it a second thought. Second amendment!
@@Ronkrein Thats UK law for you; "owning a firearm is a privilege, not a right" in the uk. SOME firearms are legal, but only if you are certified and believe me when I say getting certified to own a firearm is NOT fun!
There are some exceptions, of course, but the UK is one of the more heavily regulated countries especially when it comes to items falling under the firearms act and items which require certification
@@larey12 I'm sure you already know that certain types of "pepper spray" are legal here, you do need to check, to identify which they are though 😉
Edit: I withdraw my above comment regarding UK legal alternatives to pepper spray; the information I originally found has since been removed and replaced with a statement declaring the 1968 firearms act superceeds the legality of any/all such "self defence" measures.
I definitely need the rubber band gun from the thumbnail for self defense.
