Maybe I’m being a dick here, but I’m kind of put off by the fact that you guys don’t offer more words of support for the STALKER 2 devs? I feel like you’ve barely covered this game, and now that you have the chance to talk to one of the devs, you don’t really say much to them? Would it be too ”political” to tell them you’re rooting for them and that Ukraine is in our hearts or something? Again, maybe I’m reacting too strongly, but it feels like you’re trying to say as little as possible about the war? The interview felt kind of cold and awkward, when I feel like you should have shown the developer some love and words of support, other than ”wish you well”.
Just a shame that half of the time, their input is taken and twisted by absolute Neanderthals who only care bout superficial agenda pushing fandom wars.
@OscarHazeGaming Alex would be easy to defeat. Just make your character a girl with big boobs wearing very little clothing and it will make Alex's head explode without even having to fight him😂
On the topic of viewers who don't play games, I've been a gamer since the 80s, but my job now takes up 90% of my waking hours, so in the remaining 10% I watch Skill Up, Gameranx and Digital Foundry while I'm cooking and eating, then it's sleep, rinse and repeat. God, I miss playing games, but watching and listening to you guys is the next best thing. ❤
I'll pay attention to any Stalker 2 interview, not only because of the game but also because not a lot of developers have gone and continue to go through what they're going through so it's interesting to see their perspective. I respect GSC Gameworld so much
I do, too, yet basically ALL interviews and even the dev diary is full of corpo and marketing speech and here it's shown once again that they have prepared replies and are not really refering to questions asked at all. Reminds me of the Starfield material prior to release.
Every time I hear "Ain't No Rest for the Wicked" by Cage the Elephant I'm transported to the first Borderlands. That has to be one of the best video game intro cinematics ever.
The sequels writing was... shockingly bad. The first had a great story about self-acceptance, building trust and overcoming fear of the unknown. The sequel is about bad people being worse than good people? Idk, pretty bad writing.
Some am I.. then add mods on consoles , mp , dlc it's going to be amazing.. and no agendas being pushed.. just a good fun game like they are suppose to be..
My backlog is way too long to touch anything new now, but I want to wish all the best to Stalker team and their entire country, fighting the terrorist oppressor. I might pick up Stalker 2 day one just to support these guys, hope they made a good one.
@Ty6260 so your running around telling everyone to call you something else ... got it .. thats not been the issue in games .. no one cares about those two things nice try
Man, the guests that you guys pull are just so cool. Glad you guys always keep the tone positive so industry people feel happy to reciprocate invitations.
Seven Nation Army and Battlefield 1 takes me back to my college days when I was getting into gaming and gaming RUclipsrs, with my favorite channel being some Layman Aussies. I’m glad Ralph is still making great content.
I feel bad for the digital foundry guys. Fanboys have made that place toxic, and no matter what they do they are labeled as biased. Guys the ps5 pro is the only new console on the market, they arent bias for covering it for god sakes. They dont code the games either, so when one ends up testing better then the other, its not DFs fault! I seriously cant stand DF comment sections anymore. Theres like 3 people that know whats actually happening, what is being discussed, and then THOUSANDS of complete mongoloids surrounding them foaming from the mouth
That battlefield 1 reveal trailer man! The hype was through the roof. Whenever I hear seven nation army I think of it. Also whenever I hear Back in Black I think of Black Ops 2 since they used the song for the tv promos
If you’re thinking about getting a Pro and you don’t own an OLED tv, you should be buying an OLED tv instead. I can see significant improvements on my tv from the base PS5. There are improvements, and GTA6, Yotei, and FF7 Part 3 will all run much better on the Pro. For me, it’s worth the investment for future proofing, but unless you have a nice TV, you won’t see these improvements. I understand people saying “Just buy a PC” but I like PlayStation games and their exclusives.. I’m not waiting 3 years for these games to maybe come over to PC..
God of War Ragnorak and Horizon Forbidden West were right at the 2 year mark. Spiderman 2 is taking 1 year and 3 months. They are releasing faster on PC now.
I installed warzone on pc recently and it took me 45 minutes to figure out why i was getting 1 fps and my graphics looked TERRIBLE. Finally figured out which setting was the issue. This isnt a daily issue on pc but it sure is annoying when these problems happen. For some reason im getting bad screen tearing but if i turn on v sync the frame rate is cut in half. Didnt have that issue before. On ps5 pro/console i just dont have to deal with stuff like that.
@@Phil_529 Right but most of the games I play are character action, rpgs, story based games etc. If I waited for these games to come to PC, I’d just be playing nothing for 2 years. For example if I only played on PC, this year the only game I would have played would be Elden Ring DLC.. but this year I played Rebirth, Stellar Blade, Astro Bot, Elden Ring DLC and Rise of the Ronin.. Besides I work on computers all day, I don’t want to game on a PC when I get home.. Plus the constant upgrading drivers, graphic cards etc.. It’s not for me.
I’m a dad now so I can only finish maybe 3-4 games a year! I just beat Persona 3 and I started Sifu. I still listen to all the videos you guys make to stay up to date with my my old hobby.
I’m another one that listens to a ton of Gaming news and discourse with little game time put in. It’s not for a lack of desire it’s just time. I can listen to everything at work, in the car, doing household chores. With 3 kids and a wife I just don’t have time to play anything anymore. The online discussions keeps the love alive within me though. So thanks for the podcast!
i've never been as disappointed in ralph as when he talked about the old tomb raider control scheme... once it clicks it's actually great. all the levels are made of big blocks and to get a full length jump you need to run for exactly 1 block. a standing jump is exactly 2 blocks high. the little jump back is exactly 1 block long and perfectly sets you up for a full running jump. the turnaround roll puts you exactly from one side of a block to the other. the environment and the movement are tightly interlocked and it works really well when you get it.
I've watched a few now. It is like talking with friends. I could see why someone who doesn't play games would watch even. You guys just talk , hang out, joke, go over things. I enjoyed this. Ill.come hang out with you guys and gal again. Stay cool gang! 😎
This podcast / series is getting better and better with good structure. For some reason only Sacred Symbols clicked with me for gaming podcasts, been paying them for many years, but this one has now clicked for me. Sorted all my notifications just now, looking forward to being a closer listener!
Hearing Lucy talk about a Bill Bryson book and then going on a random tangent about weird shit vicars did is like peak British, you can take the girl out of England but you will always be English at heart!

The other seasons of True Detective are actually GOLD. You just need to seperate expectations from season 1. They are all different tones and stories that have value in their own right. Definitely worth a shot!
So happy to hear Ralph continuing to praise Nier Automata and its soundtrack, I recently drove 4 hours to Washington DC to see a live orchestral performance of the soundtracks to Nier Replicant and Automata and it was absolutely magical
Horizon Zero Dawn is the game that got me really back into gaming after skipping the PS3 generation. I absolutely love it and consider the series one of my favorites
For me it's the Mass Effect end credits soundtrack, M4 Part II by Faunts. I still remember sitting in my dark dorm room leaning back in my chair and just trying to comprehend what I had just experienced - still my absolute favorite game story experience of all time.
Re: game prices. Ralph you might want to check console sales more often e.g. Borderlands 3, which you specifically mentioned is £5.99 right now (90% off) on Xbox. Actually so true
Gave me a good laugh bro take a like
Why was this so fucking funny
Spot on lol
SkillUp + Digital Foundry?
This might be my all time favorite episode
My two top channels combined. Feels like a weird dream
Why is everyone acting like this is his first time on the show?? I swear he’s been on another episode before

Digital foundry is a crucial part of the gaming industry. So glad we have someone here to inform people of the technical side of games

Shout out to Tom Morgan at Digital Foundry. The Resident Console guy. You're not always there, but you're not forgotten.
He's just camera shy. But we love him for it
Excellent 'Floppawatts Per Second' show
Digital Foundry the goats. Awesome guest
John of digital foundry is basically the end game boss of video game functionality and performance

Great to see John on the show. I hope Ralph gets Alex on the show one day too, they need to talk about PC ports.
Respect for inviting John!
I normally skip through the guests but John was a great pick. Bring him back
Broo having DF on feels like an Avengers level moment.
I don't get some why some are apologetically liking Horizon all of the sudden. It's a cool ass world and story with cool ass gameplay and exploring.
