Raced against Luc in 1996, a amazing athlete and really nice guy. Great to see this after all these years and to see him giving back and making a difference to other peoples lives, awesome. Good luck guys, you can BECOME AN IRONMAN.
I love how the performance expert at the lab and the nutritionist are merely focusing on the numbers when it comes to chances, however, the hardcore triathlete legends talk about character and are optimistic!
Triathlete legends are not the brightest people when it comes to science. They can do it without a doubt but for first timer, you need to seek advice from the health professionals if its doable, sustainable and achievable within 6 months frame. Do you even know how tissue capacity works? 🤷♂️
I have trained a couple of high performance athletes but I can tell you this; At a IRONMAN I saw overweighted people crossing the finish line and ripped dudes with perfect lats and pecs gave up half way through! It's all bout the mindset and the resilience that comes with it. Wish you guys the best of luck!
But those overweight people did train more than 6 months and has done races from sprint and worked their way up to full. Have you thought about that? Doing a full ironman requires 15-20 hours a week. You also have to factor in, hows their tissue capacity to handle high volume low intensity from zero to hero? Using brain sometimes is necessary 🤣
If they would go for a ultra train run with big cutoff times then yes. It's doable. But a full ironman ... They are young ok but otherwise already the injury potential in training is huge
If this really is this case (and I really love all the things you do on the channel), I woudn't mind to see just the running, cycling and swimming videos in the upcoming months, since you can't have time for other stuff (right??)!? Good luck!

It’s so much about mental strength and if I have learned anything from watching your videos for the last year and a half, both of you have tons of mental strength! So excited to watch your progression!

Looking forward to following this! I was very impressed with Rob's swimming -- shows how helpful learning technique is early & how that doesn't really go away. To still be able to rip a 1:08 100m shows sub-21:00 1500m potential. Wouldn't be shocked to see an IM swim well under 1hr. The run/just gaining general aerobic fitness are probably going to be the biggest challenges in such a short window. Arno is going to be able to push some watts on the bike. What IM did ya'll pick out? I would avoid anything that's overly hilly.
I’m so glad I’ve found this channel! I plan to do my first full Ironman next year. I did my first half-IM last year, and am spending this year dialing in in the 70.3 distance. Watching this series is going to keep me inspired!
Awesome guys! Looking forward to all the updates and your progress! One of the most important things in endurance sports is mental strength and I can tell you both got the spirit! Much love from Bavaria Germany, the home of Leberkässemmeln!

I just discovered your channel and I love it, your videos are always interesting with engaging ideas and you have amazing music taste. Keep up the great work
