Rat King, I never thought coming across you in 2016 would have such a profound impact on my life. I've experienced the lowest of lows, the highest of highs, the darkest of darks, and the brightest of brights - with you in my ears, throughout my journey. For a while, this world/society/life... has honestly been kicking my ass. Some days I don't even want to keep going anymore. But when I have those scary moments, randomly hearing you say "ONWARD" pops in my head. I then throw on one of your pods/episodes and just get lost in your realm of "weird genius, genuine empathy, and comedic escape". You've been like a friend, I'll never know, but that's always been there to keep me going - and not always through your humor, sometimes just "relatability" or "sincereness". I've also watched you go from relatively unknown to "a legit star" over the past 6 years - and unlike so many others - the fame and money hasn't changed you one bit. Same old Theo. Through laughs and through tears, my brother. Onward, we go...
3:58 I was just at his comedy club in austin. It’s an awesome place and worth it to go, but it is totally set up to make money. It’s $80 a person, even if you’re coming in late from being on the waitlist. The waitlist is actually a really great idea, because the place can be sold out and as soon as someone leaves or doesn’t show up they come every 30 mins and let people in from the waitlist, only catch is you still pay full price. And when you get in to the actual auditorium, you have to make a minimum of 2 drink purchases no matter what. So it’s very expensive, but honestly to experience it once is worth it so i’m not complaining just kind of misleading from what he says
I noticed Joe look over there when they were talking about the horse killing that guy. Idk. It gave me a vibe like he was thinking "why doesn't Jamie already have this pulled up" lol
I believe Theo is a true admirer of Joe and holds him in such a high regard as he stated at the end…he’s like the dry cleaner’s information cycles around and comes back neatly wrapped in a nice package. He respects Joe almost as a younger child looks up to his BIG brother…ya’know? I just watched Theo pour his heart out about him being raised as a child - his dad being elderly and his mom not caring/showing him love - I was getting geared up watching him wipe away tears. He is really learning about himself that he is good enough and that it’s ok to fail and then learn like Joe said. Bravo Mr Von and hats off to both of you. Two of thee best casts I’ve ever watched. Hit me with that heart ❤️ son! #GangGang
Theo walking out on King and The Sting was the best move he couldve made. Theo didnt need Brendan, Brendan needed theo. Theo blew up faster and bigger after leaving and just focusing on This Past Weekend
I love how Theo talks to Jamie and includes him, not just references him like he's in the background. He actually gets him involved. And joe actually seems to not mind when this happens. He goes along, and asks questions. I just think no other guests think they can reference Jamie. So they don't. But Theo does. Which really is wonderful. It is the joe rogan experience. But it wouldn't be what it is, and a smooth machine without Jamie. He deserves to be spoken to and treated with respect.
@@alyssajg91 Yeah, I noticed Theo doing that much more in this one, than he normally does, and I got the feeling he was doing it in part as a joke because it is supposed to be Theo's show this time...
In case you missed it , It is Theo’s podcast but was organised and done in Joes studio due to circumstances. Theo thanks him for it and explains it the start anyway , yes do believe in yourself bro
Theo is probably the most naturally funny comic I've ever seen. Ole boy doesn't even try to be funny most times and his delivery and story telling is freaking hilarious.
I love Theo for how he can make comedians laugh uncomfortably… but what makes me absolutely love him is him promoting positive recovery help from substances.
The last topic about dealing with regret and self improvement really hit home with me. I am now 41 years old and it took me until about 3 years ago to really realize that you have the rest of your life to live and to learn from mistakes to become a better person. Listen, Joe may not apease to all of the masses but, the man has taught me to think differently and its been such a great experience for me. I hope that everyone can find that inner peace.
I wish I was a mere fraction of how naturally funny Theo is. He can make anybody crack up without even trying… it doesn’t matter how serious of a person you are.. he will make you crack up in the most simple and unexpected ways and humble you.
i like how theo really respects jamie, not just by being polite about bringing something up but also being interested about his opinions and listening to him intently. good vibes from this episode, was a treat to watch.
Theo is such a unique story teller. Nobody uses the listeners imagination to paint a picture like he does. His stories are completely outrageous but extremely satisfying at the same time

Theo is the best. I think he has helped more people with mental illness or addictions (directly or indirectly) than a lot of people who came before him. Much love to the Rat King!!!
He honestly seems quite selfish. I never seen him emotional. He also has draftking as his sponsor which is sports betting, the most addictive way of gambling.
@@VictorGarcia-si8wy Not sure what you mean with having ''done more'' but I would never promote things like sport betting to people, that's quite an obvious example that he cares more about big money than helping his viewers. He has a big audience, he can get all kinds of sponsors, but the gambling companies always give the biggest pay so he picks that one. That should say something about his character. ''Atleast he does something'', just doing ''something'' doesn't mean you are doing something good.
@@dotexe4981 I've seen him cry one time. It's the only time I've ever seen him emotional. He talked about regretting not developing a closer relationship with his father before he passed away because he was 70 when he was born and the age gap made him a little ashamed of his father. And he seems to have felt a lot of guilt over that as he got older and developed a different perspective. Idk about him being selfish, I think he's hilarious nonetheless, but he's human just like everyone else.
I’m a 63 year old woman who really enjoyed this podcast thanks guys and I agree Theo, Joe is a delightful library of knowledge, the library of curiosity
I think it's his quickness it gets me every time, people tell me I'm funny for whatever that's worth and he gets me laughing in the most original ways I've ever heard. I used to listen to comedy for 8+ hours a day working and sleeping from home. He's really quick like when he said he put meat in Aspergers nearly died with how quick he twisted that concept in my head. But it also takes a conscious person to pick it up quick ,🤣
These two guys are hilarious together...When Theo called Eddie Bravo a deaf jack Russel terrier and then elaborated for Joe why was one of the funniest things I ever heard.
This is gotta be my 4th time listening to this specific podcast, cuz it pops up in my suggested feed. The Pod was uploaded over 2 years ago with over 23million views thus far. First, What a friend Joe is, just in general from what I've seen, but especially to Theo in this moment (Theo comes a LONG way in short order from where i sit in 11/2024) Joe is being a guest on Theo's cast, but in Joe's iconic studio. But he's working very hard to make it THEO's podcast, tho I think he forgets at times. BUT, I gotta say GOD FUCKING BLESS Theo Von!!! This dude is a national fucking treasure! I will not admit what I would give to be a part of Theo's inner circle. Cuz THAT is where the golden bowl of Lucky fuckin Charms resides!!!
Absolutely love that Theo is giving listeners options to get help for addiction. Especially knowing he’s struggled with it in the past. Love that he’s feeling better on that note too but as someone who’s struggled with drug addiction in the past, having someone that you love and look up to speak on issues that he understands as well is really cool and meant a lot to me personally. Sometimes it’s hard to know how to get out and it can feel very isolating. Super cool. Absolutely love Theo

With that being said I love both of these guys and together they're perfection!! A lot of topics covered, a lot of info shared and a hell of a lot of laughs along the way!!! Great podcast! Loved it!!

Rat King,
I never thought coming across you in 2016 would have such a profound impact on my life.

So many clubs do the drink minimum thing idk about it
