I originally intended to add Windows 2000 in the video, but given the issues that occurred with the Windows XP i386 install, I ultimately decided to avoid further issues and skipped it.
Right I found an authentic copy of Windows 7 on ebay was debating on running it off a laptop or something I only got a cheap emachine only running off 2 cores right now if I find a processor compatible with it that can give it at least 4 cores and a quad core I can turn it into my main computer and abandon my modern PC and live the rest of my life running off an old school computer from the early 2000s I was debating on turning my MODERN computer into a Steam Machine and have it run off as a gaming console. I need to find what processors I can instal on the emachine to run up to classic games on it so far I got The Sims Complete Collection running on it it has 8GB of RAM on it running for casual purposes and checking emails feels like a good idea if I could abandon my SmartTV next for one of those big CRT TVs for classic games I could relive a small fraction of my childhood.

Windows 7 was my first OS... I found it so amazing. The old media center, the polished window controls settings and start menu, the beautiful themes, the amazing memories... I got so nostalgic that I tried getting it on my windows 11 desktop but unfortunately, it was too new :(
I still like Vista. Work has a vintage laptop with Vista SP2 and Firefox 3.6 to support a certain legacy device, and it's delightful. Looks good, is snappy and fast even on a junky craptop. I also found SP1 and SP2 to be great at home. Vista's rocky start really tarnished its reputation, but it was by no means as bad as everyone said.
My desktop with Vista was a Dell Insprion (couldn't find the number of it), but it had like 8GB ram and about 256GB SSD. Worked great but lasted about 8 years from 2007 to 2015,. but after 6 months some hackers got into the whole desktop, locked everything except my games and stuff, I ordered a new Inspiron PC with Windows 10 pre-installed, but was lucky to revive some things, but not all of it.
The best part about the video is seeing how much an operation system has evolved over the years. Oddly enough, I found the logo the most satisfying seeing how much it changed. I still remember when windows 7 and 8 just came out. I miss windows XP, though. :( However, the hour glass on the cruiser will always be the most annoying thing I've ever experienced on Windows XP.
@@debugempty there are some QoL things they somehow managed to miss, but i remember windows 10 being very broken across all of my devices, windows 11 seemed to remedy a lot of the broken animations and fixed a lot of multitasking issues for me (21:9 monitor)

The virtual machine software used in this video uses these disc images to emulate a physical CD or DVD drive. And indeed, many of these installations (Windows Vista and later) were done by emulating a DVD drive, not a CD drive, since the images are too large to fit on a CD. And finally, Windows 9x cannot be installed using a CD alone, you also need a floppy boot disk, which was also emulated by the virtual machine software in this video.

Then, at the end of the year, I finally got a 2008 laptop, all shiny and perfect. I upgraded its components to: - 8GB RAM (~8079MB usable) - Core2 Duo T9600 (~2,801 MHz) - Overclocking performed on internal nVidia chip. I used Vista until I dualbooted it with XP. Vista would not appear in the boot menu. From there, I formatted the disk and dualbooted Windows 7 with Windows 10 RTM. I will fully upgrade to Windows 8.1, with a 2014 laptop and everything, in 2025. Unless something forces me to upgrade “early”...

I once tried to install and downgrade a Dell Inspiron 3252 from it's OEM Windows 10 (which was upgraded to 22H2) to Windows 7. I had seen my older sister do it before (but on a different processor model than the one I had tried), but it didn't work, and got stuck on a driver file loading during startup. Luckily, I was able to do the rollback process (which was still an option) and restore the copy of Windows 10.

I never downgraded Windows, so I have them all in a Virtualbox VM from Windows 1.04 (1987) till Windows 11 Pro (now), including all NT releases from the nineties. The oldest VM I have is Windows XP Home installed and activated in March 2010. It survived 2 Virtualbox owners; 3 desktops and 4 CPUs :) I still use XP a few times per week to play the wma copies of my CDs and LPs with WoW and TrueBass effects.

The only thing I hate about Windows 11 is the awful Start Menu layout that's about it. The Mica Effect makes up for the Aero and you can work around tweaking the menu with third party software. I figured out how to combine taskbar icons when full but can't find it again so sad you can even mod Windows 11 also bypassing requirements for Windows 11 will turn it into a Windows 11 Light Edition apparently Microsoft is still encouraging us to transition to Windows 11 somehow.
