@oldmanwitherspoon yes let's have another color revolution resulting in untold amounts of bloodshed so China can adopt an even more capitalist economy.. sounds good to me!
I was living in HK during President Hu’s tenure and I’ll say that he never forced HK into whatever it is right now. I always have respect for him. It’s quite a shock for me to see what has become of him. He looks like he aged 20 years in the past 5 years
It is both sickening and sad to see the direction China has been taking under Xi. There are other concerning authoritarian trends in the world, but Xi is now the scariest after watching russia’s slow collapse.
@@jamesrecknor6752 Yeah, he didnt have enough leverage back then. Now, with enough leverage...and stupidity of those uni students, HK govt could clamp down on those traitors, hard. Hilairous, really...
Problem is Xi passed a new law which granted him almost absolute power. He is gonna be in power for a very long time just like Putin, almost until the end of his life. Very sad. The people of China desperately wanted a new leader who might be just like XI predecessor, someone more open minded. China has a such a good potential, it’s crazy how large part of the population lives in poverty.
This is why, in authoritarian political systems, you can never afford to lose power. If you're not the one doing the purging, you're at risk of getting purged. Especially if you're a significant figure who does not have the present leader to thank for his career.
@BOHICA sure, but it's also a pet move of paranoiac dictators and it's part of the very DNA of this regime, starting with Mao. There is, if you will, something uniquely Chinese about this, even among the trend for dictatorial purges. Just like there may be some similarities between the concepts of "saving face" and "guanxi" between Chinese and other cultures, nevertheless, they are pivotal concepts in that particular culture. Because saving face is even more important than, say, in a culture which is less insistent on such appearances, an act of deliberate humiliation speaks volumes. Yes, power relations have always existed among humans but Hu wasn't exactly clubbed over the head; he was treated as though he had no status and the public should be made aware that he was shown to be discarded as though his presence was beyond meaningless. This is fairly mild as far as The Purge goes, but it's very specific power play in a country that has its own power plays stretching back thousands of years to the Warring States period and Qin Shihuang. Not everyone would choose to display their contempt for a previous ruler in quite this way. Just saying.
"He was not feeling well... Now, he is much better." Absolutely bonechilling. An obvious Orwellian euphemism to be interpreted either at face value or as a warning, depending on whose ears it's intended for.
As a communist supporter, I must say you capitalist/democracy lovers always like to speculate. You always say things like "something bad is happening". It's publicly a embarrasing moment for Xi as well to have not having things run smoothly in such events. I don't think he would plan something like that.
The most chilling fact is in the full video when Hu Jintao is about to get escorted out of his chair, to his left, Li Zhanshu wanted to help the old man as any normal human being would, Mr. Li got up halfway to try to help Hu Jintao get out of his chair, but to Mr. Li's left Wang Huning pulled on Mr. Li's jacket telling him to sit back down, don't draw anymore attention to yourself, all the while Present Xi Jinping is making a sour facial expression. Mr. Li awkwardly sat back down, gathered the documents infront of Hu Jintao and looked like he whispered "Don't look at it, Don't look at it", Mr. Wang also looked like he whispered the same words. As Hu Jintao gets escorted away, no one dared to make any eye contact or glanced his way. Hu Jintao advocated political reform, brought forth China's 10 years of golden period, forged a strong relationship with the West, and this is how his story ends.
I always felt bad for Jiang Zemin and Hu Jintao. Their like HEROES for the western world. They brought forth a powerful and prosperous China, that actually felt like a dependable ally with the west. Even though a lot of Americans hated the lack of manufacturing jobs, people liked China regardless. XiJinping really just took over and told these others to fuck off. Now XiJinping is warmongering with the west and has seen the worst economic period in recent Chinese history. Its genuinely sad.

3:24 you cut off one of the most important sections of Hu Jintao's reaction to Xi and Li. 1. Hu talks to Xi, and Xi nods his head saying "hao hao=yes, okay", that means there was a deal, and Xi pretends to agree; and then 2. Hu taps on Li's shoulder in a concern and deep love, whatever you interpret into that direction. Hu supports Li, communist youth league. *There are 2 major groups of Chinese Communist Party: *One is like Xi whose father is the founder of the party who fought and founded PRC, thinks he owns the whole country. This group of the people are the 2nd generation and offspring of CCP founders who have the government official's jobs because of their relationship, not because of their talent. Mao's grandson is also in this scenario. *The other group of people are the ordinary citizens who have no strong background and were permitted to the party because of their talent. **One group, like Xi, think they are orthodoxy, have power with no talent to run the country, and the other group have ability, higher education, open-minded and humanity . Hu wants the balance to run the country, yet Xi wants everybody listening to his order. We all know it's The Emperor's New Clothes. Like Putin, surrounds with no truth voice and makes wrong judgement and decision, very dangerous.
You forget Toad and his gang. Xi was supposed to be on the side of the Communist Youth League. He pretended to play along to get Hu’s support. Now, there are 3 factions in CCP. Toad’s, Xi’s and Hu’s. But I think Hu’s gang is being eliminated.
The open minded faction you are talking about are the more liberal minded elements of the CCP, who also have strong inclinations towards the US. Xi is purging the ranks of the pro US elements and establishing a goverment for a ramp up in the confrontation with America. Xi represents the more nationalistic elements of the CCP who are wanting to step up their game in the international arena beginning with Taiwan. The US has never seen anything as what is starting to come its way.
this just shows that China is now the most powerful monarchy in the world with capitalistic and chinese traits.....why is the west so plainly jealous and upset?i dont get it......China never claimed to be a democracy,it has never been, that democratic China died along with Chang kai shek and Taiwan, if US and the west insist on recognising Taiwan as a soverignty, then it must acknowledge dictatorship China and her right to exist too. has america forgotten her own constitution? the inalienable right for any sovereign nation to exist, regardless of their ideology, religion, affliation or this is the greatest victory and blow against the west and western ideology, China is proof that a dictatorship can rise from nothing and be incredibly successful too,why wouldnt it be?after all human history is littered with nothing but stories of the most powerful empires and dynasties.but the west and america wants to twist facts and history, they wanted to associate democracy with success and communists with failure. China is not the first dictatorship to achieve great success, something the western media hemisphere seems to conveniently ignore or look over, there were two other dictatorships that succeeded in the 20th century, one of them was Taiwan and the other was South Korea, both of them built their incredible economies under a military junta dictatorship. in fact four if u count Singapore, a psuedo democracy and the fourth one being none other than the third reich. once i was afraid of China for the longest time just like the west, but now iv learnt to stop worrying and embrace our Chynese overlords.... The folder contained the candidate list for new officials. Hu was given a list with different names from everyone else's which is why he kept reaching for someone else's list to confirm and is also why he looked confused throughout the whole video.

How do things amount to this? Ruling by fear and intimidation, to the point of publicly ousting a previous leader and everyone else is stoic and unmoved? I am grateful to live somewhere where politics is not like this. Leadership should not be afforded this kind of power, should not be able to oppress and silence opposition in this way. And leaders should have term limits - it feels like cementing power over a long time is synonymous with corruption and dictatorship.

It seems pretty obvious that Xi Jinping made some sort of agreement with Hu Jintao. He probably wanted Hu's vote of support for his unprecedented 3rd term. If the folder contained the names of Xi's new inner circle, then it would seem plausible that Xi promised to keep some members of Hu's faction in positions of power but reneged on the deal. Strictly speaking, disregard all previous actions by Xi behind the door, Xi's action of depriving Hu's right in this video alone is already a coup by itself.

3:24 you cut off one of the most important sections of Hu Jintao's reaction to Xi and Li.
1. Hu talks to Xi, and Xi nods his head saying "hao hao=yes, okay", that means there was a deal, and Xi pretends to agree; and then
2. Hu taps on Li's shoulder in a concern and deep love, whatever you interpret into that direction. Hu supports Li, communist youth league.
*There are 2 major groups of Chinese Communist Party:
*One is like Xi whose father is the founder of the party who fought and founded PRC, thinks he owns the whole country.
But still comunism is bad for the country
The US has never seen anything as what is starting to come its way.
this just shows that China is now the most powerful monarchy in the world with capitalistic and chinese traits.....why is the west so plainly jealous and upset?i dont get it......China never claimed to be a democracy,it has never been, that democratic China died along with Chang kai shek and Taiwan, if US and the west insist on recognising Taiwan as a soverignty, then it must acknowledge dictatorship China and her right to exist too.
has america forgotten her own constitution? the inalienable right for any sovereign nation to exist, regardless of their ideology, religion, affliation or
this is the greatest victory and blow against the west and western ideology, China is proof that a dictatorship can rise from nothing and be incredibly successful too,why wouldnt it be?after all human history is littered with nothing but stories of the most powerful empires and dynasties.but the west and america wants to twist facts and history, they wanted to associate democracy with success and communists with failure.

China: What Happened to Hu Jintao?, Just as the Western media spread lies about China before the Communist Party of China's (CPC) Congress including fabrications about a "coup" that never took place - the Western media is now lying about what happened during the Congress itself - including stories of former Chinese President Hu Jintao being "dragged" out of the event.
In reality - and by looking at footage of Hu Jintao being escorted in - it is clear that he was frail, ill, and disoriented and his departure from the event was health-related.

Hu Jintao's body language and verbal message to Xi Jinping before he was escorted clearly says "You may be a total dictator of China 🇨🇳 but you cannot do anything you like."

Hello Merry
It seems pretty obvious that Xi Jinping made some sort of agreement with Hu Jintao. He probably wanted Hu's vote of support for his unprecedented 3rd term. If the folder contained the names of Xi's new inner circle, then it would seem plausible that Xi promised to keep some members of Hu's faction in positions of power but reneged on the deal. He then gave Hu the boot as soon as voting was finished.
But it's unclear what happened after Hu Jintao was escorted out. I have a feeling he has been locked up for some made up corruption charges or some other nonsense. Hu Jintao was a reformer and a moderate when compared to the other post WW2 leader China has had over the years. China became a bit more free under his leadership, not to mention more economically successful. Xi Jinping is an authoritarian through and through. He began his crackdown almost immediately after taking office. He has little concern for the economic well-being of Chinese citizens, as long as the government maintains complete control under his rule.
XI was visiting the USA when in fact smirking like a joke... he Said.. to the International Press ..Qoute ... " I'll be their God " .... I will never forget it...
Hu is far too beloved to be locked up. No one would believe he's corrupt. I feel like he'd just fade away -- though I enjoyed living in China under his leadership, he was indeed as moderate as it gets and didn't make the most memorable mark.
