Remember in the early 2000s when DMX and Jet Li started making movies together, Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 the Grave, The One, those were some good times.
Unleashed was such a great movie, Li demonstrated that he can ACT, and not just be a generic fighting machine, it was a real break from typical martial arts movies.
First off, I’d like to say that I loved this video and it was a great way to learn more about one of my favorite action stars. Second, I know it’s not movie related but you failed to mention that Jet Li got his own video game in the form of Jet Li’s Rise to Honor. It was an underrated action game with unique controls and was a huge influence for the 2012 masterpiece that is Sleeping Dogs. Lastly, I remember seeing The One as a kid and being blown away by how much fun it was. It pulled off the multiverse decades before the MCU. I don’t care what anyone says, The One is a fun movie that I’ll never get tired of watching.
I loooved Jet Li growing up. Bodyguard from Beijing was my and my siblings most reenacted movies. Hero was also an absolute favourite. Great video, thanks for reminding me of this legend!
Highly recommend checking out his Hong Kong movies - Fist of Legend and My Father Is A Hero are probably my favorite 'modern' set flicks and first two Once Upon A Time In China & The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk are undeniable. . Even the weirder ones like Kung Fu Cult Master are worth tracking down. Unleashed is definitely my favorite of his western movies. I can't say enough good things about Jet or his work.
My Father the Hero and Black Mask were the films that not only introduced me to Jet Li when i was a child, but also solidified him as a top favorite of mine forever. Me and my lil bro watched Black Mask an unhealthy amount of times growing up lol 🔥🔥🔥🖤🖤💐💐🏆
Got rich, got old, retired from movies to focus on other things, may or may not have some health issues (you know, comes with the getting old). My favorite of his is Fearless.
I love the story that when he decided he needed a break from action movies, wether or not it was tied to health issues. Stallone was about to do Expendables 2 and since Jet was a big part of the first one, Stallone contacted him and said he'd rework the script so he only had to do the opening sequence, that way he would still get his salery for appearing in the movie but he could take off early and start his recovery.
he was a shaolin monk in his teens I think, shown around the world as an martial arts artist!must have done lots of his bones later on!he toured as part of Chinas culture piece!im also sure he started filming in his mid 20s
Unleashed is IMO Jet Li's best English acting role and probably the best actual acting he's done. He really nailed the curious child gets lost and re-finds his humanity thing that they went for. Plus Morgan Freeman and Bob Hoskins were as great as ever. Kerry Condon was also very convincing as someone that was intrigued about and cared for Danny. Him running into the henchman outside of a shop and not immediately caving his head in shows how conditioned he was to respect the worthless group that treated him like a dog but also how much he had grown as a person. Not to mention the importance of music throughout. Great film. I watched in like 10 years ago (for the 5th time) back to back with Wanted (James McAvoy and also Morgan Freeman) and it's crazy how Morgan can manoeuvre between roles. One was the nicest man you'll ever meet and the other is essentially a manipulative selfish dictator.
One of my favourite action stars, to be sure. I was introduced to him by way of Lethal Weapon 4 and I remember wanting to see him in other things. I'm sorry to report that War was my first Blu-ray (because 300 was sold out). I....was sorely let down. Watched it once, never again. Remains to this day the only Jet Li film I didn't like. I don't count the 3rd Mummy film either. That wasn't great, but he wasn't the main character and that movie had other warning signs early on, namely recasting Eva because the original actress wasn't keen on the script as I recall (which would seem was justified).
My Jet Li Top 10: Fearless (Director's Cut) Unleashed Fist of Legend Once Upon A Time In China I & II Tai Chi Master Kiss of the Dragon Shaolin Temple New Legend of Shaolin Lethal Weapon 4
The only thing not mentioned here is that jet Li became a Buddhist and decided to take a vow of nonviolence. He felt like maybe he shouldn't make any more violent films even though his Buddhist teacher told him that he should continue his movies because it gave so much happiness and hope to the world and it was his destiny or what is called dharma in Buddhism.
his movie THE ONE made the biggest impact on who I am as a person even since I saw that movie I literally wanna be able to go to every single universe and take out my other selves so that I could become the ONLY "me" in the multiverse I remember having vivid dreams about being THE ONE and I still want that lmfao also his movie with jackie chan, The Forbidden Kingdom, is too much fun~ go watch it, especially if you're addicted to Black Myth Wukong
Whats with the exclusive when this is couple years old? Its just to filled up new channel with content from Joblo original or there will be some real exclusives here too, like with horror channel?
I always felt that even great movies like the matrix. The fighting was too slow like you downloaded kung fu into your head and I feel like I could still dodge your blows. It’s so slow.
The mummy 3 isnt a bad movie in any regard, BUT and a big but, it should not have been marketed as a mummy film, or at least and spiritual successor with Brendon Fraser
19:15 I mean.. compared to Jet Li's movies.. both Reloaded n Revolutions are masterpieces of action and story telling so yeah.. 2 and 3 might not be on the same top tier level as the 1st matrix, but nothing Jet has ever done compares to Reloaded or Revolutions lol and I think he would've been an amazing SERAPH. imagine THE ONE fighting THE ONE lol but every single Jet Li movie is 100 times better than Resurrections and imho anyone who likes Resurrections is an agent.
I swear to God His first 4 American movies I watched so many friggin times it's not even funny..... I remember my buddy had bought them on DVD Romeo must die, cradle to the grave, kiss of the dragon, and the one and then I went and bought unleashed and I swear those were always go to movies whenever I wanted a just badass kicking ass lol and the music of course was always awesome
The reason he couldn't do the kiss with the late Aaliyah is because he's married and dedicated to his wife and not racism. This issue is known in the east. Stop stirring up fake controversy! You never hear Jackie and Chris Tucker having racism issues. Here in the most parts in east Asia, he will always be known as Wong Fei Hung. The association between Jet and The Fist of Legend is mostly a western thing especially with Tarantino hyping up the movie. The character of Chen Zhen belongs to Bruce Lee. Kiss of the Dragon is basically a Hong Kong action movie produced by the French. There's nothing wrong with having too much action. It is again a western issue. You never see anyone complain about John Wick having too much action. Fearless may be Jet's swan song movie but Hero is considered his magnum opus. I would consider Danny the Dog his best English speaking movie besides Kiss of the Dragon. War is his worst western movie by far, so much wasted potential. Forbidden Kingdom should've been made years ago when both martial arts actors are much younger. You can see stunt doubles especially for Jackie in the movie. He's too old to make fancy kicks and moves. No other martial actors beside Jet can say they beat both Mel Gibson and Danny Glover in the same movie.
The narrator and/or the script for the video is insufferable. I couldn't even get through half the video before bowing out. And I am a huge fan of Jet Li and would have loved to watch the rest.
Why? Everyone grows old and retires. One day we all will. 😂 Arnold has almost, Stallone's thinking about it, Bruce Willis has to, Jackie Chan refuses to, Van Damme wants another chance but all...are just now sadly too old. We miss them more....because there will likely never be another generation like this. And why? Let's just say HK cinema is dead, Chinese cinema is controlled, And Hollywood has commoditized "Kung Fu" into unrecognisable fight abilities any tom, dick and harry with a stunt crew can do, and any superhero is born with - no training origin required. 😂
I watched "The One" on VCR so many times as a kid. I loved all his movies, he's a legend
Remember in the early 2000s when DMX and Jet Li started making movies together, Romeo Must Die, Cradle 2 the Grave, The One, those were some good times.
Bro I had all those movies. Pure fuego.
For me, Hero is Li's greatest movie and role. Even after all those years i cry like a toddler when the credits roll.
His portrayal of Wong Fei Hoong in Once Upon a Time in China is legendary , every Chinese speaking kid worldwide knows him as that character
Exactly! I can’t believe they slept on that series. It was introduction to Jet Li
I remember buying his pricey vhs releases at Suncoast or comic joints.
Unleashed was such a great movie, Li demonstrated that he can ACT, and not just be a generic fighting machine, it was a real break from typical martial arts movies.
First off, I’d like to say that I loved this video and it was a great way to learn more about one of my favorite action stars.

Kiss of the Dragon is one of the best martial arts movies ever made
Business or pleasure ?
I loooved Jet Li growing up. Bodyguard from Beijing was my and my siblings most reenacted movies. Hero was also an absolute favourite. Great video, thanks for reminding me of this legend!
In his interviews Jet Li is a loveable goofball. And such a badass in movies, the contrast is unbelievable.
Jet li fearless movie always live rent free in my mind.
You forget one major thing. The greatest PS2 fighting game starring Jet Li called Rise Of Honor
I love " Hero". It's one of my favorite movies

Had a surprisingly deep plot and character development for a martial arts movie. Bringing in Morgan freeman helped too
Fist Of Legend, Fearless, Kiss Of The Dragon, and Bodyguard From Beijing are legendary 👌👌
My homie..you know
Fong sai yuk 1 and 2 ,was the first Jet Li movie's i remembered watching in the 90s ,growing up in Sweden 🇸🇪 👍👍
40 minutes! This is gonna be a good one.
I am such a fan of Jet Li that I endured the worst narrator (and narration) on RUclips. My God.
He is a cine-snob that thinks anything not artsy is crap cinema. In this whole narrative he never took Lil serious. Even with movies like Hero
That was a fun time travel :) thanks for the fun documentary:)
I grew up watching the One on DVD, that one was great
Nixon would NEVEEEEER illegally record private conversations 😒 🙄 😑 😂😂😂😂
I really love Fearless... Remind me of his old kungfu movies 😢
Twin Warriors is probably my favorite kung fu movie of all time.
Awesome video as usual
So just a note
Both Wesley Snipes and Of course Bruce Lee were also told to slow down their moves 😮
Last time I was in this channel you had 645k subscribers. Damn it’s being a while.
for me, His best movie is The One. for 1 simple thing, I love Jet Li as a villain. I like him better as a villain rather than the hero
Lethal weapon with Jet li as the crook was class
Unleashed is a great movie....
Our one and only Wong Fei Hung! Long live King!
Fist of Legend and Fearless FTW!! 💪
What happened to Jet Li? The same thing that happens to all humans. No matter your physical shape in your youth, we all get old and weak. Period.
he became The One
Anybody remember the Rooster style he invented for Once Upon a Time in China 3?
Ocean heaven is one of favorite movies of his nobody has watched.
Haha I can’t *Evil Voice * 2020 !!!!!! 😂
Fist of Legend was his first movie I saw.
I remember everyone loving the forbidden kingdom!
you sound like a normal person at 1.3/1.5 speed
Thx
That actually made it somewhat bearable 😂
black mask is one of the first jet li movies I ever saw.
Surprised there was no reference to his video game
The narrator had few drinks before this one
Jet Li must be a good guy, because why is the producer tricking him like that 31:40
My Jet Li Top 10:
Fearless (Director's Cut)
Unleashed
Fist of Legend
Once Upon A Time In China I & II
Tai Chi Master
Kiss of the Dragon
Shaolin Temple
New Legend of Shaolin
Lethal Weapon 4
The only thing not mentioned here is that jet Li became a Buddhist and decided to take a vow of nonviolence. Unleashed was also tittled Danny the Dog in Spain
I love this man ❤
Anybody know the background track overlay playing from around 17:00 to 19:00ish? Its been driving me bonkers with Shazam unable to help
Black Mask is god tier. Thats what kosher Batman movie should be.
his movie THE ONE made the biggest impact on who I am as a person
even since I saw that movie I literally wanna be able to go to every single universe and take out my other selves
so that I could become the ONLY "me" in the multiverse
I remember having vivid dreams about being THE ONE
and I still want that lmfao
also his movie with jackie chan, The Forbidden Kingdom, is too much fun~
go watch it, especially if you're addicted to Black Myth Wukong

Remember his PS2 game ?
HERO is in my top ten !
RIP, legend
“Cause… you know…… Nixon”
I just assumed he got too old to do what he does, like Jackie Chan
I always felt that even great movies like the matrix. The fighting was too slow like you downloaded kung fu into your head and I feel like I could still dodge your blows. It’s so slow.
The mummy 3 isnt a bad movie in any regard, BUT and a big but, it should not have been marketed as a mummy film, or at least and spiritual successor with Brendon Fraser
Jet Li is a god of cinema 🎥
19:15 I mean.. compared to Jet Li's movies.. both Reloaded n Revolutions are masterpieces of action and story telling
so yeah.. 2 and 3 might not be on the same top tier level as the 1st matrix, but nothing Jet has ever done compares to Reloaded or Revolutions lol
and I think he would've been an amazing SERAPH. imagine THE ONE fighting THE ONE lol
but every single Jet Li movie is 100 times better than Resurrections
and imho anyone who likes Resurrections is an agent.
I mean, he IS over 60. The 'unhealthy' photo is him around 50. That's what 50 year olds look like.
I look no different to what I did 20yrs ago & im in my 50’s
Only thing that’s changed is I’ve got grey hair & I lost my fat gut
Bodyguard from Beijing was my shit
I swear to God His first 4 American movies I watched so many friggin times it's not even funny..... Jet Li actually did film a kiss with Aaliyah at at end of the film but was not used in the final product for some reason.
The worst $30 I ever spent they took out all the song like BE A MAN seriously
The narrator and/or the script for the video is insufferable. I couldn't even get through half the video before bowing out. And I am a huge fan of Jet Li and would have loved to watch the rest.
He can play a dog 😂😂😂
fucking legend
Like everyone they age
Get to the point faster
2:30 nice propaganda
He got old.
wtf happened? ,conclusion who cares since no explain on that...

You babble on tooo much and too long
Jet Li is better than Bruce Lee. Period
He said he wasn't on Bruce Lee level in interview. Same thing Jackie Chan said too.
Bruce Lee was a greater martial artist than an actor. No other actor came close to his level as an martial artist.
Cring Level: Maxxed out.
Fuling click bait it's a documentary bout his life
