This series would have been even better if they would have switched to see the battles from not only the allied soldiers side but also the german soldiers side.
@@DibleydogFunny that soilders that have been in action don't talk about it,because the whole thing,is just animalistic, and no human should ever put through it.
Not many fighting men did talk about it, my grandfather was RAF serving in Holland and he would not talk about it neither. I as a British civilian respect and thank your father for his service and fight to bring peace and freedom
@@johnny71cUK Respect to your grandfather as well. Sad to say, my dad came home with shrapnel in his knees that medical at the time couldn't completely remove. He came home with other demons that had him drinking to quiet them. He wasn't alone in that. Lost both my mom and dad within 6 months of each other in 2002.
They missed out the berating of the defeated German army "say hello to General Motors" etc etc... but the original movie left out Standard oils war profits as well as IBMs involvement in the death camps. War is hell ..but only for those fighting it. Its heaven for big corporations.
Have you heard the actual veterans talk about the show. They said they were humbled about how realistic it is, but even on film we (the audience) cannot feel the fear they must have felt.
I have always felt that there are certain incommunicable experiences in life. Combat is one of them. For me, it was surgical training 1989-1995 in North Philadelphia. No one can ever really know what that is like unless you have experienced it.
I could explain the differences in war tactics and the topography differences between Europe and North Africa but your head would explode. Simply put the firing sequences in this series are brutally accurate.
Naivety is often a contributing factor to wars. Naivety is when you accept what an evil person is saying to you just because you would like to believe them. War is evil but inevitable given that we have evil people in this world. It was right that the UK stood up to Hitler. It was wrong that the UK invaded Suez in 1956 just to protect oil supply. It is wrong that so many countries such as the US and Russia start wars just because they don’t like the politics of countries that they deem are too close to them.
I have black and whites of Eagles Nest taken by my father n law when they swept the place after we bombed the crap out it. US troops standing in the giant window looking over the Alps. Real history.
Remember we were suppoy troops first then when casualities got to heavy did we become line troops. Eisenhower gave the otder for the change. Like black troops were not already dying
@incynemamovies He died 1995, wish I would have talked more about his experiences!! Got a few, but I likely could have gotten a book full of his experiences if i would have asked!! He was with the 101st ABID because when he was drafted, he opted for the extra 50 bucks a month and joined the Airborne!!
The 101st Airborne Division was the first allied unit to occupy Hitler's Eagle Nest ? Who said that ? Until now it's still unclear who really arrived first. The 101st claims they were the first here, the 3rd US infantry division says the same, and so does the French 2nd armored division... but it seems the very first allied soldiers here were the French. They took pics and some Hitler's belongings before leaving the place upon American order. But with Hollywood, that's always the same, US first and biggest even if it's not true...
In the 101st defense, the previous troops were there very briefly and left everything virtually untouched, so when the 101st arrived it appeared to them they had arrived first.

Very true
No thank you
@@floppysmith1181Why afraid to see the other perspective?
Absolutely not. The whole point was to follow the story of this specific brave group of men.
You should become a Hollywood film director with amazing ideas like that. Or maybe not....
My dad was 101st Airborne. Jumped out of perfectly good aircraft in the Euro theater. Wouldn't talk about it much.
My Dad didn’t talk about his war much either. I found out he had been wounded after he died in 1982.

Mine was in the 82nd Airborne and he didn't talk about it at all.
A useful 20-minute summary of an excellent multi-episode series.
The finest series I have ever watched. I have the full series on DVD. Many X-box games are based on this story.
Band of Brothers foi a melhor série sobre os principais combates da WWII que já assisti. Recomendo muito!
One of the best war movie I have ever watched and the other was Saving Private Ryan.

Operation Market Garden was a complete disaster. Monte wanted some glory so he pressed the allied high command(Ike) to lead it. Did not turn out well.
Monte killed many soldiers bc of his stupid startegy
Great but the real sound would be deafening and you couldn't hear most orders.
Yes it would be very loud
When did the 101st get armour into Holland during Market Garden?
British

French soldiers were the first in the Eagle's Nest, not the americans.
Actually, it was the "La Nueve" company of the French 2nd Armored Division. That company was composed of Spanish Republicans.
