I love how you recognize the damage to the other buildings of WTC Plaza. Tens to hundreds of people inside of them died, and I feel like it is important to remember that the twin towers didn’t just fall onto the ground, but they hit many buildings around them and many people died from ways different than being in the twin towers or the planes
While it's true that other buildings were damaged by falling debris, what still baffles me to this day is how no other buildings in Manhattan suffered a) catastrophic damage, b) uncontrolled fire and c) complete collapse on 9/11 except coincidentally World Trade Center 7 -- which was 300 feet away from the North Tower. Even the Deutsche Bank Building which was much closer to the twin towers than even World Trade Center 7, only was damaged, but there was no fire nor collapse. The same is true of the World Financial Center 2 and Verizon Building, which were both in relative proximity to the twin towers, yet didn't suffer fire and collapse. It was just World Trade Center 7 on that day. Even more striking was how Osama Bin Laden, a qualified civil engineer, stated afterward that his intention was never to fully collapse the twin towers, moreless the entire World Trade Center Complex. Given that statement, it would be like winning the Powerball lottery without even entering the lottery. Statistical anomalies like that are almost unheard of in everyday life, yet it all came to pass on 9/11.
There was a proposal to build them back to look the same externally, but to be safer inside and one story taller. If only we had taken that route. It would have been the ultimate middle finger to our enemies, to show they didn't just waste their time, but we came back taller.
Im in North Central Indiana, im a conservative, ive never had enough money to be a Republican, but i disagreed with DJT, the terrorists will not win if we rebuild, that whole area is on bedrock, and once were all dead and gone, someone will get the idea to rebuild it anyway, why not do it now, or at least start it, and build it tough like NYC , never to be toppled again !!! Just an opinion from a fly over state !!! The new buildings would make great headstones for all who died there , and lewve a lil memorial section between the two
They destroyed these towers . E-TEAM was on 91st floor of Tower 1 . Exactly where they carved the plane wing shape holes after the 1st explosion. Wake up. We weren’t attacked by Osama. It was elements of our own government!
Are we just going to ignore the fact he 3D rendered ALL of manhattan for a 5-second shot which transitioned to the trade-towers? This man deserves WAY more recognition. EDIT: even if he didn’t render Manhattan he still deserves more recognition, incredible RUclips channel.
You can 100% find 3D models of Manhattan out there if you look around. One of the most famous cities in the world; so many reasons why someone might want a 3D model of it for some purpose so I'd be *shocked* if there weren't any online.
this is probably the best architecture lecture i’ve ever seen on youtube, from history to proposals, urban planning and corporate greed. it has it all and extremely well explained. instant sub
Daniel Libeskind must be one of the most ego-free architects in the history of architects. This video gave me a whole new respect for the man and for his vision. Thank you for sharing this with us.
I agree. I really would've liked to see his full idea for the grounds implemented. I was honestly disappointed as soon as the part in the video came where they started throwing his ideas out. :/
I understand his 1,776 feet symbolism and his entire design, but eventually those buildings would be obscured by other skyscrapers and the sight line from the site to the Statue of Liberty would be gone. The current tallest building on site is huge and blocky from the street level, which I don’t like, but it is also serving the original function (and more) of the two main towers.
Well….. that’s not what was being reported at that time… they definitely compacted the drama here…. Every day there was a new story about Child’s vs Libeskind… fighting tooth and nail over windows lol… and Silverstein playing referee
Libeskind published a timely autobiography entitled "Breaking Ground". It was about his humble beginning and career until being chosen for the commission of a lifetime. I'd hardly call the effort egoless, despite the underdog "David vs. Goliath" theme. Still, it was easy to gain a liking for the man, and it's bittersweet in retrospect- since his ideas were only partially implemented.
I had the honor to be a contractor on the Freedom Tower which I will never forget. The amount of techs/workers who came every morning for years was unreal. The massive engineering it took to design every inch of that building was incredible to see. I was there for few weeks, every morning, working on the antenna and the view will stay with me forever. I have never seen even one construction worker ever going number one outside on the property. Not even one guy/girl spit on the floor. I was so honored to be a part of it.
Visiting as a tourist was incredible. The timeline of the NYC skyline you see on the elevator was powerful. I was born in 2001 so I never got to see the towers, but it was still emotional seeing how quickly they fade in and out.
I was in New York a month ago and had no idea I booked a hotel so close to the site. I walked there with my wife, and it was an incredibly sombre yet uplifting moment when we saw the names of the people who lost their lives there, as well as the beautiful tower built nearby. It was heartbreaking to touch the names of those who were lost that day but also incredibly inspirational to see how New York managed to both recover and remember, with a breathtaking site to honour those lost, remember the day's events, and look forward to something brighter all at the same time. It was an experience I will never forget.
Small detail about Libeskind's design: the towers, in addition to being viewed in hight order from Liberty Island, also include the titled roofs which - if i recall correctly - are meant to symbolise the buildings almost respecting and bowing to the site of the original Towers. A really wonderful idea in my opinion.
I wish that the WTC 2 site would match the Freedom Tower but take tons of inspiration from Libeskind, and make it ever so slightly taller at 1787 to commemorate the signing of the US Constitution. That would really complete the NYC skyline.
In addition, Daniel Libeskind`s entry for the WTC design competition, his buildings are strategically placed that in a certain time of day, the glass buildings reflect a ray of light from the sun, that ray of light is where the approximate flight path of the planes before hitting the original towers. Daniel Libeskind is renowned for his architectural design by incorporating the play of light in his works. Kudos to the production behind this documentary, neo. This is more than just a documentary, this is an exceptional kind of storytelling. 💯💯💯
That would be HORRIBLE! Glorifying the flight paths of the terrorists?? How would you feel as a relative? What a disgusting vision to immortalise the attack!
@@dmr8914 the terrorists weren't the only ones on the plane. 147 civilians were on just the two planes. No one survived. They aren't glorifying the terrorists, those planes were the last moments of almost 150 people. I would have found it comforting know that where that ray of sunshine was, is where one of my family members was that day. And the attack has already been immortalized. Maybe you oughta rethink your outlook. Instead of immediately thinking of the 150 lives lost, that those rays of sun represent, you went to the worst thought that he was some how immortalizing the 10 terrorists. By your ridiculous logic, building any memorial there at all would be immortalizing the attack. Think before you spout nonsense.
I always get mixed feelings around this time of year. I was born mere hours before the attacks, and growing up we always watched the memorial documentaries every year in school. As well as on my birthday. I was always told these stories by people older than me that I met. They would talk about the exact time and place where they watched the tragedy unfold, and they would tell me "I'm sorry about your birthday".
You could see it as the only nice thing to take away from that exact time is that lives like your own were being created and filled with potential. It’s a real shame what happened and I recall the day well, although I live in a different country. But your birth is sort of the antithesis of that provided you are a good person! All the best and happy bday when it arrives!
It's pretty messed up for someone to say they're sorry about your birthday. It's not like you had any say in the matter. I remember watching the towers fall live on TV while my brother and I were getting ready to catch the bus for school. It was an intense event, but I never understood why people put so much stock in the date. It was a trajedy, but it doesn't require reverence.
Being a lifelong New Yorker, the oculus building is one of the most beautiful pieces of architecture while commemorating the history of the World Trade Center. Such a beautiful building.
Last time I visited NYC the site was still an inaccessible hole in the ground that everyone in my circle kept mumbling would never actually get built. It makes me really happy to see all the complications at play finally come together to make something beautiful.
so glad they went for strong, more simple designs. The site of the towers didn't need much pimping and decoration. The solemn empty space filled only by the infinity pool and surrounded by the names of the victims really make you feel the weight of the event after all these years.
Sans the pools, they aren't strong though. The originals by Yamasaki definitely were. These? eh.... First, the site feels like key chain architecture. Nothing really working together. Just each structure tacked on as another item. Second, Freedom Tower is a half effort attempt akin to when you were in school and you had to sit through another student's definitely half baked presentation. I mean it's a building. It's like every other building, VE'd (being polite) out of it's mind that any symbolism is post rationalized poorly and incredibly weak.
I walk by it every day on my way to work. Once in a while I stop and look at couple of the names and imagine who they might have been. Someone pretty similar to me, maybe born about 20 years earlier than me for their life up to that day being similar to my life now. I get carried away imagining it, and then when I stop and remember where I am, I am met with just the sound of nothing but the water running. It's a strange feeling.
@@PKNproductions It's so different when u think of them as a group than when u read those names individually. Only then it hits that these were real people and every name u read just piles on. It's definitely a strange feeling
What's amazing is I came up with the same idea for the reflecting pools surrounded by names in late September of 2001, long before any proposals were even being drafted for the site. I still have my original sketches that I made while at work over lunch break. I was inspired by the Vietnam memorial in Washington D.C. with the walls of names.
I still think that Libeskind’s design was so much more well thought out, and generally seemed more heartfelt towards the families due to the huge inclusion of a memorial and a museum, and rebuilding the original streets. It was also just a far more unique design that doesn’t just blend in with every other skyscraper in Manhattan like freedom tower. Now don’t get me wrong freedom tower is a very cool building, but the original proposal would’ve been so much better.
One WTC isn't very cool, it's completely meh. Libeskind's design and the compromised design with the other guy looked good, this one just looks like a generic blue shape.
@@difficultytweak1 The originals were criticized about the same thing, being two boring shapes in the sky I guess time will be the final say in how the design is received. Just like the old ones.
I visited Ground Zero once maybe a year or two after the attacks. I remember there were still remnants of the original subway station and the trains would slow down as they passed. Everything was boarded up and taped off but you could see daylight through the cracks. And a pair of firefighter boots on the platform. You had to get off at the next station and walk back to the site, which was a giant hole in the ground with a construction fence around it. That image is still what I picture in my head even though I know things have been rebuilt since then.
My mom worked in the Deutsche Bank building, and my dad was a first responder at Ground Zero during and after the attacks. 15 years later, my boyfriend(now husband) got assigned to the Oculus. I’m lucky that my parents survived, and it was such a full circle moment for me. I got emotional when he received the assignment.
While I'm not a biggest fan of the final OWTC design compared to the other ideas, the memorial is absolutely perfect. Nowhere else in NY can you be so surrounded by the sound of moving water. It really creates this bubble of focus on the tragedy that happened there, while also somehow making it hopeful and powerful.
I always wanted them to rebuild the twin towers like a big middle finger to the terrorist. I understand why they didn't though. The memorial and museum is absolutely gorgeous.
After watching this video,my respect for Daniel Liibeskind has skyrocketed. The small details in his design are amazing, and hes probably one of the most ego-free architects Ive ever heard of.Also, thank you for making this video and giant respect to the editors.
I actually like his design of One World Trade but we need a modern Twin to it because One WTC has such a striking resemblance to the original North Tower
I agree. Daniel Libeskind seems like a real down to earth kind of person. I read on Wikipedia that he immigrated with his parents in the 50s and watched the original World Trade Towers being built in the 60s. It is a shame more of his ideas were not incorporated into the final plans.
I visited the towers in 1997 when I was 11 years old. There was so much I didn’t understand then. Looking up at them from the street and looking down from them at the viewing floor are experiences I hope to never forget. Thank you for this video explaining the lay out.
The other buildings in the WTC complex seem so small when compared, yet when you look at them individually they were still quite big. The size of the twin towers was absolutely huge.
Daniel Libeskind earned himself a new fan. After researching some of his projects and learning about his design language/methods I am truly enthralled by the man. Meanwhile Larry Silverstein earned himself a new enemy. Fantastic video.
Gotta love how rich people only care about profits and willfully neglect what the people of the country wanted-something to show how the American spirit can't be so easily swayed. Libeskind more than deserved to have his vision put into place, as an artist, I LOVED how he put so much love and compassion into his design and even included the height to be a specific number reflective of American history. Been to the memorial and honestly, only the water memorial sight meant more to me than the new tower. The tower now feels devoided of anything worth showing emotion, which is extremely sad that many other Americans I spoke with there during my time all felt the memorial waterfall meant more to them. Silverstein is just a fine example of being out of touch with reality and only seeing dollar signs-which is repulsive in the wake of a national tragedy.
@@crybabyteejit is quite symbolic of the United States though. Capitalism runs through the veins of many. Making money is something uniquely treasured among Americans
I had the opportunity to visit last year and you know…they’re doing well, man. The memorial section is beautiful with plenty of places to just hang out and reflect. The mall area (at least when I was there) was still very much in development. One WTC towers over it all like a behemoth. But the centerpiece is absolutely the pools at the original towers’ foundations. Looking down into them, you get an idea for the unbelievable enormity of the attacks, those buildings and what an incredible achievement it was just to clean up the aftermath…the piles of insanity must’ve been a hundred feet high in every direction. Definitely a worthwhile visit for anyone, American or not, who wants to see what’s doin over there nowadays.
I think many people don’t realize that the towers were basically tubes with the stairways and elevators going down the middle. I saw a documentary about the building of the towers and from the windows to the elevator shaft was all open space so that it could be configured however the occupants wanted. That’s why when the planes hit them, them, there was nothing to hold them up.
@@evelyne_8421 Flying jumbo jets loaded with fuel at over 500mph directly into them was the ultimate test, Something they or no-one could ever account for at the time... And we saw the results.
The core of the towers was held by 47 steel columns, with elevators, and three emergency stair wells. The first tower that was hit, was hit straight on, destroying all the stair wells. The second place hit the tower at an angle and destroyed two of the three stairwells. The steel columns were bent and shrunk by the heat. After approximately an hour of burning, the steel could no longer hold up the upper floors. Thus, resulting in the fall of the towers. The towers were actually built to withstand hurricane and earthquake strength.
Reflective absence has to be one of the most beautiful architecture projects ever. It gives visibility and complete protagonism to the victims which were the real losing from this tragic event, and to grief, peace, and respect. Im so glad that project was the winner.
in 2003 i was 21 years old and i had a job as a cater waiter. that summer i had a gig on governors island serving at an event which hosted the architects who'd contributed designs. Norman Foster was there and so were several politicians. it was an impressive occasion. there were foam models of some of the designs. it was a really special thing to bear witness too. i remember also one of the wine bottles cracked when unloading, and the manager said to get rid of it to be safe. Instead, we poured it into a pitcher and myself and 2 other staff secretly drank it in the back room. i was almost drunk by the end. a nice buzz. it was forever our secret until now. its a fond memory.
@@aQuestionator realise how he obviously knows the story takes place in 2003 because the comment says it, and he was being sarcastic. Jesus does anyone have a working brain these days?
I watched the Towers fall with my own eyes, and never returned to Lower Manhattan since. I admire the new tower and our perseverance as a nation. Libeskind is incredibly talented and humble. The memorial looks amazing, maybe its time i return.
All difficulties with getting the site together aside-I’m really happy we got what we got. the Freedom Tower means a lot to me considering the amount of people, mostly friends of my parents, were lost during & after the attacks
I have feelings about the Twin Towers similar to yours. I'm an old ... whatever. I watched those towers get built. I grew up within visual distance of the construction. I marveled at them. In the day, they were the largest buildings in the world. They were more than symbolic, they were iconic. As such, I am also glad that it worked out the way it did, a memorial and a new iconic Freedom Tower and a new World Trade Center complex. It took a long time, but Job Well Done.
The One World Trade Center is a nice building, I’m always in awe every time I pass by it, whether it be on a train, or walking past it. And also, I send my condolences 💐.
1 WTC is depressing and a sad reminder our country became irrationally paranoid and afraid ever since 2001. It’s base is a closed off concrete bunker, it’s curtain walls are just boring glass, it has less floors-the top are mostly mechanical, it’s observation deck is lower, the roof is only a parapet and the ‘spire’ is a skeletal antenna that helps the tower cheat and claim tallest building in the U.S. And it’s dumb symbolic height of 1,776ft is now a cap on buildings afraid of crossing it for silly touchy reasons. Meanwhile China has numerous buildings over 2,000ft but not in the U.S…
@@BarberJ95 The Twin Towers were just deathtraps with business and tourism slapped on them if we’re being honest, most people saw them as two more grey and bland office buildings being built in NYC.
@@BarberJ95 the overall height isn’t 1,776 feet unfortunately. Also idk why you are so mad that China has 2000 foot tall skyscrapers, nobody cares and it does not matter lmao
From a personal perspective I loved the original World Trade Center. The huge open plaza and the low level plaza buildings utterly dwarfed by the soaring twin towers. The huge lobbies like a cathedral and then it hits you, there's 110 stories on top of this. The new site doesn't quite make you fall back on your heel to take it all in, yet I understand why they've done it this way. I think the footprints reflecting with water and marking where the twin towers stood as hallowed ground is most appropriate. I assume the site is too small, but I'd have loved to have seen, or to see the new Two WTC use the same design as One. Becoming it's twin and standing guard over ground zero. A symbol of defiance that creates a new life, but that never truly heals the scar in the skyline. Only my humble thoughts.
Totally agree. I thing they should have rebuilt the twins back off set from the memorial pools. Unfortunately the new one world trade really doesn’t have anywhere near the presence that the twins did. Don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful building but it honestly looks just like any of the other glass clad towers they build today. Not to mention that it’s fundamentally a smaller building than either one of the towers and that there is only one.

@@garbread I'm in total agreement they should've rebuilt the original towers. One World Trade just doesn't do it for me. I have still yet to visit the site and I've been to NYC quite a few times since then.
I went to New York recently. Did not plan to go see the trade centre memorial and museum. Was dragged along by a freind. But I’m sure glad I did. It was incredible. Museum was very well and tastefully curated. Reconstruction of this memorial site and buildings was just beautiful the moment you exit the subway into the oculus and make your way out the building. It’s a must see when going to New York
If you're an American, you shouldn't have to be dragged there. I remember that day and haven't been to NYC yet... but ground zero is the first place I'm going when I'm there.
@@Jay-gf8tm sorry but I have zero Interest in going there. I am an American, however, I don't enjoy going to places to grieve or pay respect. If I happen to be within a block or so of it I would stop by and have a moment of silence but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it.
I’m glad they did not rebuild directly on top of where the two towers originally stood, it would have been like building on top of a grave. The remains of over half of those who died there were never found, so that location is now their final resting site. The memorial is much more respectful to them and their families, and even the future employees of the new WTC. I certainly would not want to go into work on top of the gravesite for 1,000+ people.
I get frissons when I go into graveyards or anywhere where death is. I’m not superstitious. I’m not even religious. Like buddy above me said, “… there would be Hella Bad Vibes there.”
Personally, I Think They Should Have Rebuilt Them, At Least Mostly In The Image Of The Original Twins, But Moved Them Slightly, So That The Footprints Of The Original Towers Could Still Be Used As A Memorial. The World Trade Center Was An Architectural Marvel, And Ought To Have Been Restored, Standing Taller.
I feel like the Oculus building is an amazing piece of art, the skylight is beautiful. The angling is just perfect. I would love to be there during its memorial phase
I personally don't like it. I think it looks ugly and totally out of place. First time I seen it I was like WTF is that 💩. Not a fan whatsoever of what they've came up with and done with the area.
I recently visited the site and I was absolutely stunned by every aspect of the site, particularly the Oculus station. It is a truly unique and iconic landmark in its own right, does well to indicate progress and is stunningly beautiful in person.
Honestly, I really loved Libeskin's idea for the leaning rooftops as a sign of respect and I think it would have made a beautiful addition to the skyline. But I disagree where people originally thought the Freedom Tower's design was uninspired - though the description is sort of fitting as that's what the public originally said with the Twin Towers' design [i.e. being the boxes the Chrysler and Empire State Buildings were delivered in]. The symbolic height is a nice touch and overall the building feels grand. Like it knows its place - not graceful perhaps, but strong. And that's a good message. Maybe the building just grew on me - who knows!
Always feel freedom tower is the most bland uninspiring shape of yet another office tower that was just given one gimmick twist like any other early 21st century office tower.
Lmao! I like the actual design better. It symbolizes strength in my opinion.. you can perceive it as that. But the diamond shaped tower at 2 WTC is the perfect one to make in that area! I hope they make that one there once they find the tenants for the site.
Maybe it's just me, but even after so many canceled concept design ideas, i find this one successful not only from an engineering point of view, but also from symbolic side. New tower looks like a merge of previos two (by different angle), personifying the rebirth of twins into something new even stronger and majestic.
The thought of having the reflecting pools represent the scar of what once was and have the names of the victims along the sides was a nice touch. Standing and looking down at the pools just hits you with so much emotion. Growing up, I remember using the temporary PATH station they had surrounded by all the construction going on whether it'd be for the Oculus/new Westfield or the Freedom Tower/One World Trade...seeing the complex now coming together and respected as it should be brings hope. And the Oculus is such a stunning piece of architecture inside and out. Another touch I thought was just as nice that isn't mentioned here is at the WTC terminus of the E train. As you use the passageway to get to the Oculus from the E, there's a set of doors you pull open. One of these doors is spray-painted with "X MATF 1 / 9 13". "X MATF 1 / 9 13" was spray-painted by the Beverly, MA-based Urban Search and Rescue Massachusetts Task Force 1 who were on the site on September 13, 2001 (hence, 9 13). The X was in a box, and X was marked if an area was dangerous. As a condition for getting funding for the Oculus, under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, PATH had to preserve the pre-9/11 passageway's original design (the last surviving piece of the 1970s WTC station concourse). This passageway reopened in December 2016, but this door was kept with the spray-paint, and a glass case was put on both sides of it with a plaque talking about the door's significance.
I am also happy this memorial scheme was implemented. A close second would've been the tree-filled park over the footprints, perhaps drawing memory even further back to the island's pristine state long before today's megacity. Also, I think there would be a powerful message of regeneration and timelessness of nature. As it is, the abstract and starkly beautiful reflecting pools that drown out surrounding noise are as sensitive and inspired as anything ever regarded in reverence and respect.
As a tour professional this is an invaluable video for commentary development for anyone leading a group at WTC. Thank you so much for teaching a local even more to share with my guests! Superb job, sir!
This video was fascinating, and very informative. The 3D models were incredibly helpful in visualizing the layout and its changes over time. Thank you for your work on this.
I’m not sure if it’s cause I was only a baby when the twin towers were still here but personally I’ve always thought the freedom tower design we have is pretty great. To me it’s a super simple design, yet it conveys the message of two towers combined into one. A lot of the designs were great though. I’ve also been to the memorial/museum, it’s beautiful and gut wrenching.
@@DentalFloss yeah I’m not saying either is more simple than the other but the freedom tower is pretty simple compared to a lot of other designs. I’m also not saying simple is better but it works for the freedom tower for me. The twin towers and the freedom tower are both way more simple than the Empire State or Chrysler but I’m not sure if they’re better.
I think it's very pretty too, and the entire memorial site, pools, and museum use negative space to really make you feel the loss... My mam still looks for the towers in photos.
as a now 37 year old german, the twin towers have always been iconic for the skyline and i always wanted to see THAT new york and those towers. when we were visiting relatives in pittsburgh in 2000 and 2001, i was nagging them about going to new york, since its not that far away, but they wanted to go to washington instead.. i still remember them saying: "next year.. its not like theyre gonna tear them down anytime soon. theyre older then you, so dont worry, they will wait for you".. well, ive never been up there, although ive been "near" them twice and ive never been to the states again after that point. a year later, my aunt died and her family didnt have much interest in keeping up the contact to german relatives by marriage and those they only saw twice in their lives. it just broke apart. maybe one day again.. but having low income, such a trip is a heavy load to carry. overall: iam not against one wtc, i just wish, theyve build 2 towers instead of one
Everyone loves those towers now that they aren’t there any longer, but they got plenty of justified criticism while they were still standing. The original was architecture by committee, worse, by government committee, worse, by the combined committees of two governments. Quite frankly, the only thing you missed was a hell of a view. The buildings themselves were a wreck long before 9/11.
I feel for you. They had no idea what would happen. It is always assumed that something will be there later on, but nothing is guaranteed a tomorrow, not even us humans. I have been up in the twin towers a few times and the last time was back in 1994. I haven't been there since and I live IN New York State, (not in the city). I'm not rich enough to go anywhere like I used to also, but I did go to many different countries while in the US Navy. I have even been to your country, beautiful.
I can't stress enough how well this video was put together. I've read so much about the original WTC complex, the development of all the different new buildings, and I go and visit the memorial site every week to take it all in, and this video covered everything about everything. I'm in awe of how quickly these 30 minutes flew by. To say this video is perfect is an understatement.
Repent and follow Jesus my friend! Repenting doesn't mean confessing your sins to others, but to stop doing them altogether. Belief in Messiah alone is not enough to get you into heaven - Matthew 7:21-23, John 3:3, John 3:36 (ESV is the best translation for John 3:36). Contemplate how the Roman empire fulfilled the role of the beast from the sea in Revelation 13. Revelation 17 confirms that it is in fact Rome. From this we can conclude that A) Jesus is the Son of God and can predict the future or make it happen, B) The world leaders/nations/governments etc have been conspiring together for the last 3000+ years to accomplish the religion of the Israelites C) History as we know it is fake. You don't really need to speculate though because you can start a relationship with God and have proof. Call on the name of Jesus and pray for Him to intervene in your life. - Revelation 3:20 Revelation 6 1st Seal: White horse = Roman Empire conquering nations under Trajan 98-117 AD & Gospel spreading rapidly. 2nd Seal: Red horse, bloody civil wars with 32 different Emperors, most killed by the sword. 185-284 AD 3rd Seal: Black horse, economic despair from high taxes to pay for wars, farmers stopped growing. 200-250 AD 4th Seal: Pale horse, 1/4th of Romans died from famine, pestilence; at one point 5,000 dying per day. 250-300 AD 5th Seal: Diocletian persecuted Smyrna church era saints for ten years, blood crying out for vengeance. 303-312 AD 6th Seal: Political upheaval in the declining Roman Empire while the leaders battled each other. 313-395 AD Revelation 7 Sealing of 144,000, the saints, before trumpet war judgments, which led to the fall of the Roman Empire. Revelation 8 1st Trumpet: Alaric and the Goths attacked from the north, the path of hail, and set it on fire. 400-410 AD 2nd Trumpet: Genseric and the Vandals attacked the seas and coastlands, the blood of sailors in water. 425-470 AD 3rd Trumpet: Attila and the Huns scourged the Danube, Rhine & Po rivers area, dead bodies made water bitter. 451 AD 4th Trumpet: Odoacer and the Heruli caused the last Western Emperor (sun), Senate (moon) to lose power. 476 AD With the Western Roman Emperor (restrainer of 2 Thes. 2) removed; the son of perdition Popes took power. Revelation 9 Two woe judgments against the central 1/3rd and eastern 1/3rd of the Roman Empire. 612-1453 AD 5th Trumpet: Locust & scorpions point to Arabia, the rise of the Muslim army. Islam hides Gospel from Arabs. 612-762 AD 6th Trumpet: Turks released to attack Constantinople with large cannons (fire, smoke, brimstone). 1062-1453 AD Revelation 10 The little book is the printed Bible, which was needed after the Dark Ages when Scriptures were banned by Popes. Revelation 11 7th Trumpet: Martin Luther measured Roman Church; found that it’s an apostate church, not part of true temple. The two witnesses are the Scriptures and saints who proclaim the pure Gospel and testify against the antichrist Popes. Papal Church pronounced Christendom dead in 1514 AD. Silence for 3.5 years. Then Luther posted his 95 Thesis, which sparked the Protestant Reformation and brought the witnesses back to life. Millions of Catholics were saved. Revelation 12 Satan used the Roman Empire to try to wipe out the early Church, Satan was cast down as the Empire collapsed. Revelation 13 The antichrist beast Popes reigned in power 1,260 years, 538-1798, is the little horn of Daniel 7, son of perdition. The false prophet Jesuit Superior General rose to power from land (earth) of Vatican and has created many deceptions. Revelation 14 Points to great harvest during the Protestant Reformation & wrath on Catholic countries who obey antichrist Pope. Revelation 15 Overcoming saints victorious over the beast. Prelude to 7 vials and judgment on those who support Papal Rome. Revelation 16 1st Vial: The foul sore of atheism was poured out on Catholic France, leaving them with no hope, led to revolution. 2nd Vial: The French Revolution started in 1793, killed 250,000, as France had obeyed the Pope and killed saints. 3rd Vial: The French Revolution spread to rural areas of France, where Protestants had been killed in river areas. 4th Vial: The bloody Napoleonic wars shed the blood of countries who had revered and obeyed the antichrist Pope. 5th Vial: Judgment on the seat of the beast. Papal States invaded in 1798, Pope imprisoned, removed from power. 6th Vial: The Turks vast domain dried up, they were only left with Turkey. They lost control of Palestine in 1917 AD, Israel became a nation again in 1948
27:08 underrated beautiful image here, the silhouette of the towers reflecting there absence and while being very simple line and design you recognize them very easily, I really love the symbolic here
Having visited the site, I’m really glad the way they rebuilt the area, specially the infinite pools and the museum. It’s very emotional and a perfect tribute to the lives lost that day. The new tower is very iconic too, I can’t imagine it being any different as it became a symbol to NYC. Quality content over there, thanks for the video.
I'm on a Minecraft survival server and I am building a 1:4 scale of the New World Trade Center complex. That's the design I'm building, it's simply the best looking from the outside and that's what most people will be seeing, unless you work there or take a tour. The max you're seeing is the lobby. The server and irl public will admire that in the skyline way more than the other designs. Simple as that. (Btw I'm currently in the pathway for Architecture, and will hopefully get into an Architecture program in a year and a half
I didn't realize the WTC had that many buildings, I thought it was just the Twin Towers. I feel like this should have been explained in school, but I'm just now learning this as a 27 year old.
The information that was withheld from that day by congress, and major media is staggering. It was the largest crime scene in The United States and they started tampering with evidence a mere few hours after the buildings were brought down. Do your own research.
Silverstein feels like a villain, he clearly didn't give a crap about the contests or the public/political issues & frequently used his $ to do whatever he wanted
Your not the one paying 10 million a month to rent a rubble heap. I don’t see how waiting years is going to honor the victims, the way to honor the victims is to take actions that would prevent something like that from happening again. If the public wants to have wait to build something they should not expect a individual to bear the burden of their decision. It would be like if someone crashes into your house during a party and kills some people, you want to rebuild your house as quickly as possible but the victim’s families are preventing it. If the victims families want to have that type of decision they should provide the occupants of the house somewhere else to live.
I remember going to New York in 2011 when the Freedom Tower was in its skeleton phase and didn't quite stick over the surrounding buildings. Seeing all the cranes, safety nets and trucks was mind blowing
I actually cried watching this video. Its a story well told and nicely incorporated through carefully chosen shots and words. This is a stunning creation.
Wow I am shocked in how many buildings got destroyed in this horrible disaster. This is the first time hearing more than two buildings collaping after the attack. Condolences sent to everyone thatblost someone that dreadful day. May each person forever Rest on Paradise. Oh my gosh. That is a lot of buildings and innocent loves gone. Awe
I’m not from New York, I wasn’t alive before or during 9/11 - I can still place the towers within pictures of the NY skyline without them. The cultural impact of the towers themselves and the subsequent attack is insane.
What seems unique about the ground Zero for me is that compared to other areas of the New York, that very area (literally) stands out from the rest. In my perspective, New York is gritty, old, and monochromatic yet Ground Zero has a futuristic and bright ambience that the rest of the city doesn't have. It catches the eye of the viewer while being the most significant part of the city.
I've always been torn between rebuilding the towers or making the memorial site. I kinda think they should have merged the 2 somehow. Maybe make a memorial within the ground floor or build the towers back but in line with the memorial to preserve the skyline without building on top of where the original towers were. Idk I feel like the absence in the skyline would be a more painful reminder to the victims' families than seeing the towers back in place
I just visited the site last weekend. The area feels so lively now, despite it's history. We could use another video focusing on the murals and artwork there since they just released a brass sculpture for first responders
I love Libeskind's attitude. He is a immigrant who clearly loves The Nation and if shows in his work and his understanding of the complexity of the situation. He isn't expecting a handout or free reign over the project. Totally an awesome person.
As someone who works in the field, this is excellent work and a wonderful contrast to trash sites on RUclips like Screen culture who simply look for eyeballs instead of actually creating real, engaging content. This video will inform for generations to come. It's also a wonderful primer for anyone who visits the area
I remember as a kid, the view of the towers around Exit 15 on the NJ turnpike, looking back it was an optical illusion… but in comparison to NYC skyline and Empire Stage Building which is mid town…. The towers looked so almost ridiculously massive, awe inspiring.
Amazing video. The shot @ 27:08 of the tower’s silhouette is amazing. These towers are still recognizable thru just a few lines of light before being fully unveiled. Really captures a different angle of the World Trade Center. Great stuff! 👍🏼
I've been fascinated by this drama for years and I've always wanted to know what exactly was there before the attack, thank you for this perfectly detailed video, it's the only one that contains the perfect information about what was before and now
I've only been to that mall once and it was a field trip passing through it all. I remember it was like 3 or 5 floors of retail space. So many things destroyed and have not been replaced so far.
19:22 I REALLY WANT THAT DESIGN TO BE WTC2😭😭 Gives me a diamond in the rough type moment and let’s the city’s spirit shine no matter what. I’ve been to the memorial of Ground Zero in summer 2015 as a 16 yr old from Louisiana and I haven’t been since but I would love to go back and see how everything has been completed so far since I’m now the age of 24!
Visited grund zero when i was 14. I Vividly remember the firefighters memorial, just hit different, knowing they without hesitation went into the crumbling tower to save as many they could. True hero's. Shall they never be forgotten
17:10 While Sasaki's plan wasn't chosen, the grassy area at a slope is similar to the design of the Irish Hunger Memorial right by the WTC. The Irish Hunger Memorial's construction began in March 2001, and despite 9/11, it was completed and dedicated the next year in July. Dedicated to spreading awareness about the many lives lost due to the Great Famine/An Gorta Mór as well as those who chose to emigrate to the US to start new lives. It features not only labeled stones from every Irish county as well as native Irish plants but also an actual 19th century cottage from Attymass in County Mayo that was abandoned in the 1960s as the family who lived there all left for the US.
Since I was a child I had always been fascinated by the twin towers, it was not only a icon of New York but a symbol of America. In 1991 I took a road trip from Texas to New York. I will never forget the feeling seeing the twin towers on the horizon as I got close to the city. The first stop in New York was the observation deck at WTC. I went to the top 4 times during that trip. The last visit was at night and the ticket agent informed me the top of the towers were in the clouds and the rooftop was closed. I went up anyway to the inside observation level. It was close to closing time and the observation level was empty. The clouds lifted a bit and was able to see the city lit up at night. I took in the view in silence (compared to the huge crowd during the day) until closing. It was the highlight of the trip. The current WTC replacements are nice and beautiful buildings but they do not command the skyline like two identical 110 floor towers. I would have like to seen the Twin Towers rebuilt with modern safety and construction methods. But I am thankful I was able to visit the original towers.
I went to the WTC site last year on September, on a clear Sunday morning. The 1 WTC is such a beautiful building, and all the buildings around the memorial pools are perfectly as a whole. I will never forget the first time I saw the pools, the sound of waterfalls is the only sound around, and people were keep voice down. Those names on the walls of waterfalls, and the shining new 1 WTC in the background, and the debris displayed in the memorial, such a magnificent work. I will never forget that day.

Interesting to see that the design of Libeskind ended up being applied to a smaller project in Finland. I feel like you either love or hate his works but he definitely has a unique style.
I'm heavily disgusted by Larry Silverstein's position to not get into an agreement for such a long period and force the NY Ports Authority to rebuild office space so revenue is coming back. If there is one place on earth where it's not the most important thing to earn money, than it's places of fates. Of course it's not optimal to have a lack of revenue when you need them, but i'm sure that Larry Silverstein could've managed this without having such an infantile urge to get the same things as before.
But but what will he do with losing 0.1% of his wealth every year. Think about the poor billionaires. Not the New Yorkers who were affected by the attacks.
You will be even more disgusted if you look into what he was up to up and around the time the planes started flying into the buildings. The interviews as well are demonic.
Why didn't the Port Authority just waive Silverstein's rent so he didn't have to pay $10m/month for leased buildings they refused to rebuild under their own lease obligations?
In person, the twin towers were a solid, monumental, and abstract-looking presence. Simply amazing. I'm glad they were not rebuilt. Although I far prefer the original towers, rebuilding them would send a message that we might forget what happened there. (It's really hard to think about what happened there.)
This video was amazing. I was only an infant when 9/11 happened and I’ve never been able to figure out what damage actually occurred because I only read articles but had no idea what the map of ground zero looked like before the attack. Seeing it reconstructed like this in a smooth and simple animation with perfect narration really helped me fully understand what exactly happened and the timeline in which it happened. Thank you so much, I REALLY wish this video was around when I did that huge project about 9/11 in my senior year of high school lol I struggled so hard to piece together what actually happened by just reading articles and watching poor quality videos of the aftermath.
I recommend you to read ”the Trigger” by Dav|d |cke🍏This book explaines everything you need to know about this topic. These iconic buildings were literally destroyed from whithin🔥
I was pretty clueless until I visited the museum, and haven't been able to find information any more detailed anywhere online since. Someday I hope to go back but I know from experience that you will lose a full day of your holiday due to feeling too upset to enjoy it, so my family are put off :(
I remember wondering how long it would take them to rebuild it. Honestly I wasn't even sure if it would be in 20 years, but it was. I visited the site last year the way this site was built is beautiful and emotional. The museum nearby is heart breaking to walk through.
@@michaeldelgado5212 Buddy, follow me here... The towers fell in 2001, it is now 2023 and not all of WTC has been rebuilt yet. Are you following yet, child?
I still remember visiting my family in NY every year growing up, and the visit after the attack was so eerily different it really put into perspective how awful that day must've been for people living there. Even several months afterwards when I went, they still were working on clearing out the ground zero site. Seeing that massive hole & all the workers, trucks, cranes, etc. moving debris, made me think about doing that process for months & uncovering all those actual bodies. There were photos of loved ones & firefighters posted up on every wall & walkway in the entire area, & many surrounding buildings that were damaged had giant, black covers draped over them. What struck me most was how quiet the city was, especially compared to every other visit. The most telling that signaled how much everything had changed was later that day visiting the Empire State building. When outside in the observatory, a lady behind us dropped the stuff she was holding, making a loud crashing sound. Just on reaction & instinct, about a dozen or so people instantly ducked down in fear like a gun went off. After they realized nothing serious happened, people awkwardly rose to their feet & started finally clearing the air. Prior to that, it was really quiet, almost surreal how little chatter their was. After that, people felt almost relieved & free to talk, like that moment broke the ice & everyone could start openly processing their feelings. The guy next to the woman who dropped her purse & souvenirs said something like "guess I'm a little on edge still," or something to that effect. I was 15 at the time, and that tiny, insignificant event still pops up every year when I think about 9/11 & how much it changed people, especially at the time. I can only imagine how different life became for all those living there & the millions actually in the city that day.
This was such an eye-opening video to watch. I really appreciate the graphics that demonstrated everything so well. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes of these projects that you only really hear about if you really closely follow the events. I think the design that was ultimately decided upon is perfect. I also really like that it wasn't all planned and constructed at once. I haven't been there yet but am definitely planning to go as soon as I can.
Bravo to NEO, the creator of this vid. A lot of work, detail, and research went into discussing the history and the architectural design proposals of the WTC complex.
The beautiful song playing in the background at 18:33 when he's explaining the decisions behind the new World Trade Center is called "Decisions" by Adrian Berenguer. Well done, sir.
He has a lovely soothing voice while watching this. It was cool to see the different design ideas. Nothing will ever really replace the towers, but I do think what they did turned out elegant, classy and respectful. The names surrounding the waterfall designs is beautiful.
@@chicity1625 it’s not a cube tho. It’s a waterfall that was man made. And around each of them are engraved names of everyone that lost their lives. At night 2 large beams of light shoot up into the sky representing the falling towers.
Visiting NYC next week from Scotland. This video was a turning point in understanding the rebuild of WTC. Incredible research, explanation and execution. Well done sir!
@@rustythefoxcoon5143 I agree totally. 1970 was the pinacle of American life. It's been on a gradual decline since and now we're heading towards totalitarianism.
Incredible analysis of all the parameters. Watching the proposals one after the other was interesting. The compromising solution was horrific! Final choice is just ok but maybe more timeless , certainly not as poetic as Libeskin's design. Also the new surrounding buildings are boring enough to make it look better. What is most interesting and a true win for the city is that at visitors point of view the memorial and the smaller buildings are all well designed so the most important mission is accomplished. A city is not just its skyline seen from afar the true experience is at ground level after all.
I'm from Jacksonville, Fl. My mother is from Connecticut. We used to drive up 95 to see her family once a year. I always knew we were close when I saw the twin towers show up over the hill on the Jersey turnpike. The last time I saw the towers was in July 2001. It was a very tragic day and people went through some of the worse ways to die that day. Watching the plane hit and seeing these buildings collapse was gut wrenching. I wish they would've rebuilt them.
Fantastic video. Thank you. I think the memorial is gorgeous. Part of me really wishes they would have rebuilt the towers exactly as they were. No modernized look, just the exact way they were before.
I went to the WTC Museum and memorial. It was such an amazing experience. While did see the WTC from the outside in 2001 a few months before 9/11, I never got the chance to go inside (we were debating observation deck of WTC and Empire State Bldg, went with Empire). But the museum as well as the outside memorials just really put in this historical place. It is a must see / do while in NYC.
we have a kid at my work who wasnt even born when 9/11 happened...still blows my mind how much time has passed yet every september it feels like it just happened yesterday
I’m really glad that they chose the designs the chose. The design of the freedom tower is awesome, the memorial and the museum was the best choice and the station looks amazing
Dude, great work. As an architect and lover of all thing urban, this analysis is probably the best set of visualizations I’ve seen about this area. I was in design school in 2001 and followed all the details over the years and this was a great recap. Kudos to all your hard work. Liked, subscribed and shared 👍👍
I was very proud to know that the architect was a polish person. My dad came to the US from Poland, and I carry the heritage, only below my American heritage. I’ve been to the new building, and I think he did a great job honoring the towers legacy. I hope it will stay a part of the New York City skyline for years to come.
I grew up in lower Manhattan, watching the new world trade center being built. I was too young to remember the attack, but going to the memorial makes it feel so real. I loved how this video explains the metaphors and symbolism of the architecture designs.
True, there are still people suffering from the toxic smoke and debris on that
While it's true that other buildings were damaged by falling debris, what still baffles me to this day is how no other buildings in Manhattan suffered a) catastrophic damage, b) uncontrolled fire and c) complete collapse on 9/11 except coincidentally World Trade Center 7 -- which was 300 feet away from the North Tower.

I've thought the same thing. It would symbolize that the people are unstoppable and defiant to terrorists' cause.
Doesn't matter if it was safer inside, the government blew up the twin towers.

Just an opinion from a fly over state !!! The new buildings would make great headstones for all who died there , and lewve a lil memorial section between the two

@usa wicked huh
Well….. that’s not what was being reported at that time… they definitely compacted the drama here….
Did you shit on the property?🤢🤮

I was in New York a month ago and had no idea I booked a hotel so close to the site. I walked there with my wife, and it was an incredibly sombre yet uplifting moment when we saw the names of the people who lost their lives there, as well as the beautiful tower built nearby. Small detail about Libeskind's design: the towers, in addition to being viewed in hight order from Liberty Island, also include the titled roofs which - if i recall correctly - are meant to symbolise the buildings almost respecting and bowing to the site of the original Towers.
Where did you find this information? I would like to see photos of this or like a video of it
That would be HORRIBLE!
Even more reason why I'm disappointed his design didn't go through
@@dmr8914 There were victims on the plane too. A bunch of terrorists weren't the only ones on the plane 😭
Happy birthday! (Soon) 😁
I've always wondered how people born in 2001/9/11 feel about this day
You could see it as the only nice thing to take away from that exact time is that lives like your own were being created and filled with potential. It’s a real shame what happened and I recall the day well, although I live in a different country. But your birth is sort of the antithesis of that provided you are a good person! All the best and happy bday when it arrives!
happy birthday
4:14
so glad they went for strong, more simple designs.
Agreed, sometimes less is better.
@@ReddoFreddo I appreciate it for the engineering that went into it, but it’s a an incredibly boring design.
@@difficultytweak1 The originals were criticized about the same thing, being two boring shapes in the sky I guess time will be the final say in how the design is received. Just like the old ones.
@@ReddoFreddo It's modern, look at all the buildings today with the boxy shapes yuk
That’s not what they did? The two memorial sites where the two towers were?
I visited Ground Zero once maybe a year or two after the attacks. I remember there were still remnants of the original subway station and the trains would slow down as they passed. Everything was boarded up and taped off but you could see daylight through the cracks. And a pair of firefighter boots on the platform.
You had to get off at the next station and walk back to the site, which was a giant hole in the ground with a construction fence around it.
That image is still what I picture in my head even though I know things have been rebuilt since then.
Actually that station has been restored since 2018
My mom worked in the Deutsche Bank building, and my dad was a first responder at Ground Zero during and after the attacks.

I agree the memorial is great but One World Trade needs a twin. The empty Two World Trade Center lot would be perfect.
I always wanted them to rebuild the twin towers like a big middle finger to the terrorist. I understand why they didn't though. The memorial and museum is absolutely gorgeous.

Also, eerily silent for NYC
They could have rebuilt the towers and still had the fountain, indoors, where it'd be even more quiet and immersive.
After watching this video,my respect for Daniel Liibeskind has skyrocketed. The small details in his design are amazing, and hes probably one of the most ego-free architects Ive ever heard of.Also, thank you for making this video and giant respect to the editors.
You are so gentle blaze
theres quite a lot that was left out
I actually like his design of One World Trade but we need a modern Twin to it because One WTC has such a striking resemblance to the original North Tower
His design wasn’t picked
You saw it one last time😢
The other buildings in the WTC complex seem so small when compared, yet when you look at them individually they were still quite big. The size of the twin towers was absolutely huge.
Daniel Libeskind earned himself a new fan. After researching some of his projects and learning about his design language/methods I am truly enthralled by the man. Meanwhile Larry Silverstein earned himself a new enemy. Fantastic video.
Silverstein is a shady dude. He took out a insurance plan just before the attacks too.
@@crybabyteej (((rich people)))

I felt the same. Daniel Libeskind conducted himself with such humility and good grace regarding the process and outcome.
I actually really like the sloped roof design for WTC 2. It’s really elegant and fits very well in the mix of all the other buildings in the complex.
100% agree. Looked elegant
I agree
Silverstein sounds like every greedy business man I have ever met.

Definitely a worthwhile visit for anyone, American or not, who wants to see what’s doin over there nowadays.
when i was there in 2017 the mall was still being worked on lol
Nothing can match or replace the Twin Towers! Nothing
Indeed. ‘Don’t trust truss’. It’s greatest strength ironically was it’s greatest weakness.
I just watched the same documentary.
They were designed that way so they wouldn't be destroyed if hit by aircraft. It was a major design consideration.

Only my humble thoughts.
mhm only the og works
Totally agree. I thing they should have rebuilt the twins back off set from the memorial pools. Unfortunately the new one world trade really doesn’t have anywhere near the presence that the twins did. Don’t get me wrong it’s a beautiful building but it honestly looks just like any of the other glass clad towers they build today. Not to mention that it’s fundamentally a smaller building than either one of the towers and that there is only one.

Went to nyc recently. The freedom tower impressed me in person when before, I felt it was just okay in pictures
ngl, that clip of trump saying "a skeletal WTC means the terrorists win" really pissed me off -- and i'm not even american.
@@alveolate I think this is the first person I’ve seen you disagree with Trump on that thing
You are bloody everywhere!!
The WTC complex needs loads more housing. We are in a middle of a housing complex and 4WTC should be built as housing.
I seen those pools, my main thought is what a waste of space and lack of imagination

I’m not sure if it’s cause I was only a baby when the twin towers were still here but personally I’ve always thought the freedom tower design we have is pretty great. To me it’s a super simple design, yet it conveys the message of two towers combined into one. A lot of the designs were great though. @@DentalFloss yeah I’m not saying either is more simple than the other but the freedom tower is pretty simple compared to a lot of other designs.

I've only visited once, with my father, who's friend was on one of the planes.
- Revelation 3:20
Revelation 6 1st Seal: White horse = Roman Empire conquering nations under Trajan 98-117 AD & Gospel spreading rapidly. 313-395 AD

1062-1453 AD
Revelation 10 The little book is the printed Bible, which was needed after the Dark Ages when Scriptures were banned by Popes.
World Trade Center 2 would look great with the 4 diamond design.
You think schools should have explained this better?😂 There is much more that should be explained better in schools.

I’m not from New York, I wasn’t alive before or during 9/11 - I can still place the towers within pictures of the NY skyline without them. The cultural impact of the towers themselves and the subsequent attack is insane.
As a Greek Orthodox, I liked the fact that there was an Orthodox church that was destroyed and they got it rebuilt a few years ago

I love Libeskind's attitude. He is a immigrant who clearly loves The Nation and if shows in his work and his understanding of the complexity of the situation. He isn't expecting a handout or free reign over the project.
Totally an awesome person.

I REALLY WANT THAT DESIGN TO BE WTC2😭😭 Gives me a diamond in the rough type moment and let’s the city’s spirit shine no matter what. I’ve been to the memorial of Ground Zero in summer 2015 as a 16 yr old from Louisiana and I haven’t been since but I would love to go back and see how everything has been completed so far since I’m now the age of 24!
Fantastically detailed, informative, yet concise journalist coverage of the development of ground zero. 🙏

Hi kim jong un
We appreciate this information, Chairman Kim
Thank you, glorious leader.
This is a lovely story x
A symbol of capitalism!
As I kid I remember the Twin Towers being in a bunch of cartoons and early video games. They were very recognizable even to kids I feel

He’s an New York real estate broker. What do you expect from the man. Of course he’s a huge piece of shit. Just like a friend of his, Trump
He was PAYING the rent to the port authority. Why didn't the port authority waive the rent??
Why didn't the Port Authority just waive Silverstein's rent so he didn't have to pay $10m/month for leased buildings they refused to rebuild under their own lease obligations?
In person, the twin towers were a solid, monumental, and abstract-looking presence. Simply amazing. I'm glad they were not rebuilt. Although I far prefer the original towers, rebuilding them would send a message that we might forget what happened there. (It's really hard to think about what happened there.)
I agree it’s hard to think that thousands of bodies were never recovered from ground zero . 90% of the victims according to police in 2004
This video was amazing.
I am glad you enjoyed it. Thanks!

Great work, Neo. As someone who does investigative pieces recently, I cant imagine how effort this video took.

He has a lovely soothing voice while watching this. It was cool to see the different design ideas. Nothing will ever really replace the towers, but I do think what they did turned out elegant, classy and respectful. The names surrounding the waterfall designs is beautiful.
It’s as if the site tells that not one building could ever replace the scar left behind by 9/11, symbolised by the 2 water pits.
