In next Sunday’s video we’re a day of training in China with the Olympic Champions so SMASH the subscribe button (with perfect rotation, timing and placement) so you don’t miss it 😆🏸
I swear, 1 month ago I needed a defense guide and you guys made a video about it, now I wanted to practice my smash and made a video again! Thanks a lot, you guys are so reliable 😂
I've been following this channel for over two years now. They are my first coaches. Their videos helped me improve my game and win local tournaments. Undoubtedly, they are the best badminton coaches on RUclips.
I was worried yesterday that my smash was useless , and badminton insight is here with the best ever timing!!. Nice video Greg and Jenny all the best for China Masters
I agree with Zheng on this one, a powerful smash that does not get you a point is not a good smash, it’s the ones that have good placements (powerful or not) that get’s you the points are the good ones.
For the non-racket arm, my coach described it as pulling your elbow in to force your torso to rotate outwards when you're making the shot. It does help a lot because your body will naturally want to rotate, making the movement a lot smoother.
Hi greg and Jenny, I started playing indoor badminton in June and have been following the channel. My game has improved a ton, covering each and every thing, You guys are doing great job. Cheers! Lots of love from India.
I just recently discovered your channel and you guys have already helped me tremendously in recognising areas in which I have really lackluster technique and bad habits. Thanks a bunch for all the work you put into these videos. Love from Denmark!
THIS is judt what I needed. I am planning to train my smashes with a coach because smashes are cool. Thanks Jen and Greg you guys are really awesome online coaches for me.
could you guys make a video about neutralization shots(ex:- rear court forehand and backhand drives used by chen longstick smashes used by lin dan). it could be very important. Also‚ really love your videos and the support you guys gave us to become better players.💗💗
Thank you for investing in equipment 🏹 😜 I am currently working on improving my smash, I had indeed noticed all of the points covered, but the editing and the illustration that you make of it will be of great help. Thanks again
no wonder i always misses the line when i smashes with 100% power really useful video!!i will try to be more precise and reduce my power to increase my accuracy 😊
Another really helpful guide, although smashing at a picture of the missus is a bit dodgy 😆 Best of luck in the China Masters this week. Tough first round draw, just give it your best.
Great video! Are you going to release a RUclips video too of you guys playing mixed doubles with Huang Ya Qiong and Zheng Si Wei? Saw your IG story about it!
not gonna lie, i’m not so good at doubles but my attacking game in singles is just what made me top my school (might go for state player but im also focusing on studies). this smash tutorial is indeed perfect for intermediate to advanced players who want to launch fireworks in tournaments or training/sparring in school :)
One thing to add about body smashes: This is especially effective against taller player, because they usually have longer arms as well. Having long arms makes it even harder to get the racket in the right position around the hip/upper body. On the other hand, tall players with long arms can sometimes reach shuttles down the line that a smaller player wouldn't be able to return. So this is something to consider as well
I guess it comes into the placement point, but one of the biggest things I worked on with my smash was the angle. Again, I have taken off a little power, but the team defending finds it much harder to counter attack if the shuttle is coming below their hip.
Thank you for this video! It really helped me improve my technique, if I may ask a question, I started playing badmiton about 2 months ago, and I feel like I'm rapidly improving, and I really enjoy the sport. I am learning badminton twice per week, in one-hour sessions. Although I learn some things, I feel like I'm not learning enough and want to make it my full-time career, by moving to China and learning it to become a professional badminton player (my goal is to go to official tournaments such as world tours or even the olympics). I understand the physical demandness and the competitiveness of the sport. Could you guys please give me some insight on what I should do? Should I quit my dream, is it too late, could I fulfill my dream? Many thanks.
I have a doubt for the past many years After lifting which is the right place stand , is it base position or little bit back side from the base And if the opponent played a deceptive drop from that lift how to take that drop And if they played smash from that lift how to defend that and if they played clear to long back how the take that Please put any videos related to this
Unrelated topic, what's affordable but great shuttlecock? Aeroplane Red SG1130, Aero Gold/Silver, RSL Silver 12+1, XP2 Silver Also is it normal to have a slight fatigue/headache after 1 game of badminton
I need to train more. I tried to SMASH the subscribe button, my rotation, timing, placement was off, and I missed! Second try, I got the like! I'm definitely watching the future videos!
Hi Greg and jenny, thanks for this video. I'm an intermediate MD player that meets all 3 requirements. However, I still don't have that nuclear smash as some of my counterparts. [Imagine Kevin sanjaya vs goh v shem; obviously I'm not that good but even in their prime they have different smash power] I think im too lean and don't have enough bicep. I'm wondering what workouts i could do to generate that kind of nuclear smash. Thanks again and great video!
best of luck at this weeks China Masters..... i will be heading to Chiang Mai for my badminton tournament....!!! When i found out the name of the tournament i just had to go... its called Sawasdee Cup...hahaha🤣
usually it depends, in a fast pace rally jumping is the better option for more power, while a slow and more consistent placement game u can do a standing smash to provoke your opponent.
Do you have any videos or suggestions for a player who has a weak knee or weak leg when it comes to badminton? I'm plagued by a sporadically painful knee which hampers my already amateur abilities XD!
I have a really good smash, the only problem is I do not connect with all of them well. 6/10 smashes I connect with really well and the ones I don't connect well with, give me arm pain at times. I would like to know why this happens? I only play once or twice a week as well so not that I can spend time practising. Open to your suggestions
Heard you guys lost in the China Masters 2024 by Yuta Watanabe and Maya Taguchi. Sorry for your loss. Hope you will improve and win titles in the upcoming time. GL
I find that I'm much more likely to play a good (timed) smash if moving backwards, especially towards the round-the-head. If I'm able to get right under the shuttle, it seems I always mistime it. What could I be missing?
Is it okay for my grip to be slightly towards a panhandle? (very small), I feel like its hard for me to hit it flat when I use an ordinary forehand grip (i have a tendency to slice it).
Make sure you’re in the right grip, rotating your shoulder / arm correctly and hitting at the right contact point! We go through all of this in detail in our step by step smash tutorial ☺️
In next Sunday’s video we’re a day of training in China with the Olympic Champions so SMASH the subscribe button (with perfect rotation, timing and placement) so you don’t miss it 😆🏸
Can't wait!
Always excited for a new video
I can’t wait.
Looking forward to it!
Was watching your match in Li Ning China open today... I'm really disappointed. 😕
I swear, 1 month ago I needed a defense guide and you guys made a video about it, now I wanted to practice my smash and made a video again! Thanks a lot, you guys are so reliable 😂

Thanks for the tips❤
Really helpful tips

I am suffering an injury. Can you make a video on what injured Badminton players should do to improve their game?
I really appreciate you guys making these videos between competitions 🥹
Best content!!!! Love you both
Thank you so much ☺️
THANKS FOR THE TIPSS!!!
Happy to help! 😃🏸
@BadmintonInsight Do you have any tips for how to not get tired in court, ENDURANCE TRAINING???
@BadmintonInsight I hope you see this cause it's been hard for me lately, I can only do self training
I guess it comes into the placement point, but one of the biggest things I worked on with my smash was the angle. Again, I have taken off a little power, but the team defending finds it much harder to counter attack if the shuttle is coming below their hip.
finally here early, keep up the good work guys!!
Woop! Thank you 🤩 we’ll try our best
Can we get a video on different excercise to train the muscle involved in the badminton that works the most and prevent injuries?
Thanks ✌️
Smashing video as always👏
🤪🙏🏼

I can do the sideways one very nicely but always forget to stretch out in a jump smash, I just keep my body bended
Extra merchandizing idea: sell the cut outs! I would love to use it to train my smashes on real size Greg and Jenny 🎉😅
Thank you for all
awesome video
Thanks! 🤩

W you totally improved me
Woop 🙌🏼
Young Mohammad Ahsan had the most unique smash technique that I've seen
Hi Greg and jenny, thanks for this video. I'm an intermediate MD player that meets all 3 requirements. However, I still don't have that nuclear smash as some of my counterparts.

mum new badminton insight just dropped
i'm autodidact and i feel awkward/slightly embarrassed when putting my non racket hands up before hitting the shuttles 😅
Thank you❤
Heard you guys lost in the China Masters 2024 by Yuta Watanabe and Maya Taguchi. Sorry for your loss. Hope you will improve and win titles in the upcoming time. GL
Thanks for your guidance 😊 .. first 😅
How do i smash with placment? because when i smash, it always goes to the middle
I find that I'm much more likely to play a good (timed) smash if moving backwards, especially towards the round-the-head. If I'm able to get right under the shuttle, it seems I always mistime it. What could I be missing?
Many people prefer the round the head side as it forces you to rotate more. It’s hard to know without seeing it!
thanks😁
You’re very welcome 😊
7 minn agoo wsuppp love from Philippines ❤
Hi! im a big fan from SEA (Philippines), hope you visit my country and maybe play in here. 😳

U guys are doing more for badminton than bwf 😂
Hi Badminton Insight
Hello!
6:01 "I'm gonna aim for this hole"
Did you guys really buy a toy arrow just for that one scene? 🤣
We’re committed to the videos 🤣
what is Zheng's current racket?
We’re not 100% sure, but the sign the wall behind us says Arcsaber 11? 😂
A good tip for smashing is to just be a lefty - opponent lifts to what they _think_ is your backhand... and then they remember.
6:00 aim for this h.. what? :)
please guide that how to keep the racket string face perfectly straight while hitting the cock? how to avoid slicing the smash?
Make sure you’re in the right grip, rotating your shoulder / arm correctly and hitting at the right contact point! We go through all of this in detail in our step by step smash tutorial ☺️
Badminton player Form Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤
f = m * a .. a ist the only factor you can influence .. that's your acceleration by rotation
