    3:34 Someone needs to go and redo their Road Escort course... Great job holding up the traffic coming across that narrow bridge.

    • @C4RV3
      @C4RV3 2 года назад +8

      Truck should have stopped until the escort could clear the road ahead. Should have been at least a front and rear escort for that load anyway.

    • @gospelofrye6881
      @gospelofrye6881 2 года назад +1

      Yet wide loads still have to cross bridges. It's not that truck driver's fault the mining industry needs that big-arse yellow thing. Anyway, isn't there a front pilot as well? If so, those drivers just ignored them and pushed though. It's amazing what city people do in the country. There can be a red light for roadworks and they will just plough on through... I always dream of seeing them 90 seconds later sheepishly reversing in front of a column of irritated traffic, but it never happens :(

    • @peterb5179

      people keep going regardless, had it done to me on a bridge also, best reversing job I have ever seen by a geriatric gypsy/grey nomad, spose the bullbar coming at him gave him that extra incentive to get it right

    • @DavidNewmanDr
      @DavidNewmanDr Год назад

      I did think the rear escort was a bit too far to the right (assuming it wasn't someone vainly hoping to overtake the wide load).

    • @northernsnow6982
      @northernsnow6982 Год назад

      The front car was probably on the other end of the bridge. It is likely stopping traffic there, because the rig won't even fit on the bridge with other vehicles. There was a miscommunication on how many cars were on the bridge, or which car was the last, with make, model and colour. So the truck went before the bridge was clear of traffic.
      Possibly the mistake was made because of the ridiculous time limits, put on moving wide loads. Or possibly the truck was just trying to get the traffic to hurry the fuck up, because of his time limits.
      So no the road escorts didn't do anything wrong. They followed procedures properly. If anyone fucked up, it was mostly the big rig driver for not waiting for the bridge to be clear.

I know the white car is in the wrong but whenever I'm doing a full 180 at a roundabout I always give everyone else a bit more space because nobody expects it and half the idiots on the road think "doing a U turn at a roundabout is illegal" (instead of it being literally the best and safest place to do a U-turn).

He never actually moves left again after putting on his blinker. He may have indicated to move right, and just switched it off before the vid starts. Such a weird layout, it's tight up against the railway line but surely there's a way to build that intersection so it's not an accident trap for anyone who hasn't seen it before! There's also no sign coming from the other direction telling you that's what drivers from the cam owner's side have to do so I can see lots of people not anticipating that cars are gonna continue around.

    At 15:20 the dude with the dash cam is in the wrong. The sign at the start of the overtaking lane states KEEP LEFT UNLESS OVERTAKING. Because over taking is allowed from both directions!
    Look at the lines. Most ppl don't understand how this works and get it wrong 99% of the time. The middle lane can be used by both directions if safe to do so. SO KEEP LEFT, please.

    • @AnotherDoug

      The other vehicle performing the unsafe overtake is definitely in the wrong. It was not "safe to do so" if it nearly caused a collision with an oncoming vehicle.
      Also, it is possible that the DC vehicle was in the process of overtaking someone in the left lane - so DC vehicle, as far as we can tell from this video, may have been legally correct.

    5:10 - It has been FAR too long since I've heard "Paper Planes."
    17:09 - When your car has more cylinders than you have functioning brain cells...

    22:53 - Another idiot who doesn't deserve a 4th-Gen.
    23:30 - Been there, done that, and I remember a bit too well the nervousness of trying to get going again ASAP.
