I'm glad they stuck to the core Plot of Bhanwar Singh vs Pushpa, rather than messing it by scaling the film internationally. I really hope they end with a fire climax rather than leaving something else open for another part of the franchise unnecessarily. ❤

I think Fahadh Faasil will be fantastic in Pushpa 2.

Jammy bhaiya, i miss the Sukumar we saw in Rangasthalam. That scene where Ram Charan's character went on in full rage mode, picking up the wood from fire with DSP's bgm playing. No need for over-the-top action, cringe comedy or heavy dependence on VFX or CGI.

There are 3 types of trailer
Singham again - Revealing the entire storyline in the trailer leaving no scope for any excitement in the cinema hall
Pusha 2 - The trailer seemed so bizarre with random cuts which is the opposite spectrum of "Singham again" not making any sense and withdrawing any interest from the audience
there is Animal - I believe this was the perfect trailer in recent times which piqued the interest of what the true story would be and drew people to the theatres. We all agree that Animal trailer played a pivotal role in the movie’s success
Production houses should not take trailers for granted and should have the perfect blend of revealing and not-revealing

In fact all that I’ve spoke as is addressed in the trailer and created a lot of interest in me. Him challenging Rao Ramesh, and a pyre ….. everything felt very interesting. Actually to some extent you are correct. Sukku is not very good at his trailers lol. But His movies are never a failure to this day. That’s why I’m his fan. His movies stand tall. I agree that if Rajamouli or Vanga cuts this very trailer, they would do it better then it is I guess.

Instead of Mumbai (while Hindi dubbed character also spoken few Marathi words here and there) they still went to Patna. It indeed paid off!

I didn't liked Pushpa Part 1. The only great part of the film was the climax. The last 30 minutes, from the moment Fahadh Faasil enters the frame. The whole conversation between Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and Pushpa was so heated and clever, that I wondered why Sukumar didn't introduced him in interval or in the first half. The opinion on positioning of those 30 minutes in the screenplay might be polarising (PJ felt it was bad), but no one can deny the battle we care for is Pushpa vs. Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. Remember when 'Hiranya Pushpam Prabhavam' sanskrit sholka plays in climax as Allu Arjun walks in his wedding - that is what 'Peak Sukumar' is for me. 🌺🔥

actually, whole Pushpa (the rise) was the interval of the movie so the warning to Bhanwar sing was supposed to be the interval but the movie was already 2-3 hours long then they thought to make the film with 2 intervals but that was cancelled so they may have added some scenes to increase the run time of Pushpa the rise
The menacing look of Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat and his maniacal laugh at the end is unforgettable.

I really miss the intial phase of Allu Arjun where he used to some quality ( Arya, Parugu, Happy) and also some unconventional stuff like Vedam , Arya 2. From Sarainodu his movies has been too much massy and over the top.
From a pure artistic POV tho, any actor would jump to do a character like Pushpa. It's not like he's sleepwalking through a commercial film, there is genuine effort even in the massiness of it all.

He injured Pushpa's mother when the latter went to ask for Srivalli's hand in marriage.
At present, this scene looks like Allu Arjun is exacting some form of revenge against this guy for the disgrace he underwent years ago.
At the end of part 2, they are gonna reveal about Part 3 just like how KGF did.
Pushpa team seems to be very insecure about thier content and trying very hard to sell off in the first weekend so that they can post about the fake collection.

When KGF2 released, some telugu filmy sources revealed that Sukumar was mesmerized and openly said he want the Pushpa2 to be at the level. It's already been 2-1/2 yrs since kgf2 released. I hope Sukumar didn't scaled Pushpa2 up just for the sake of it

There's nothing called film critic in my opinion anyways. Art is always subjective and personal. You don't need validation from anyone for you choice of films, least from a English speaking guy who doesn't review any English or World Cinema. This reviewer sometimes tells that he loves stupid films, but sometimes he doesn't. Sometimes he can take the masala, especially SRK, but other times it feels cringe to him. Don't listen to these Anupama Chopra's disciples. Saare padelikhe chutiye critic hi bolte hai khudko.

Animal film in general did not align with the hype of its trailer . It stood as an above average film
💯 percent agree on your take of the 1st Pushpa. Was honestly more a fan of Rangasthalam than Pushpa.
That said: almost everything coming out in marketing for Pushpa 2 has been spot on from posters to teasers to now this trailer. The only thing I definitely know is that this movie will not give us any closure. A great thing if the movie is truly greatly entertaining or terrible if the movie is simply par (or subpar) for the course.
For me Pushpa is a mash of every Amitabh Bachhan's angry young men era movies dialed to 11..

Personally it was an OK trailer but definitely cringed seeing the excessive wirework in the name of action 😅 Pushpa 1 had far more intriguing action shots in it's trailer cut but here just the sets and scale has increased but the quality of action seems pretty low and looks like the typical Telugu action film which is strange for a film budgeting 500cr🤯

Watch Pushpa trailer, sukumar trailers are always mid, wait for the emotions and face off scenes in the movie. Don’t be in a preconceived mindset of an elitist, watch the movie as it is and you will understand the real depth, its not just a regular commercial movie, it is a movie about identity and what actually defines it.

Jammy you gotta give it to AA for his strategy of connecting with Hindi heartland through Patna. None of the established Bollywood stars even go to that area. The face off between FaFa and AA is going to be the key determinant in seeing how the flow goes throughout this sequel. The best thing about AA is that he has a consistent band within which he operates to his strengths. He doesn't defy physics to the point of stupidity like other Telugu stars.

The character of Pushpa is designed to be raw and unrefined, which defines his approach to everything, including how he interacts with women. His behavior aligns with his rugged personality, as he isn't a Harvard graduate skilled in smooth-talking or sophisticated wooing. It would be disappointing if he behaved otherwise
Despite not liking the first part of Pushpa. I'm sure this is going to be highest grosser of the year, anything under 200 crs. on day 1 - would be an under achievement. Seeing the hype of this film, the on-ground penetration and pop-culture impact it has - it might be possible. 1400 cr. would be a cake walk for the sequel.

I loved the editing of Pushpa 2 just because it gives away a lot by not really adding up much to the stock. Even though the trailer was fine, it gave us the plot of KGF 2 indeed, im hoping sukumars script writing comes to power instead of juss stardom of the actor shining throughout the movie.... Its the similar scenario of Dwane Jhonson portraying his characters.
6:53 Shaving only half the head and making the person wear a garland of slippers is an old way of humiliating someone which is no longer done in Andhra. This is more humiliating than what Fasil's character went through in the first movie's climax.

In Hollywood we get films like Goodfellas which never glorifies the life of gangster but shows that following this path can bring you a lot of danger even on 70s bollywood films like deewar has also showed that how choosing gangster path brought doom for vijay similarly this context followed on gow part 1 and 2 but look at present day the criminals getting glorified on films like this which surely going to put a bad message on society especially it will inspire the youths to enroll in this path thinking how much luxurious it is.

Love your videos and your honest unbiased reviews unlike many out there who give Singham again a rave review when it is in fact a waste of money and time, same old run of the mill story with disinterested performances by some. Didn’t like Pushpa 1 but Pushpa 2 trailer does look good, but I don’t want to spend money that I don’t need to because going to the theatre is a risk which I learnt the hard way by watching Singham again. I would rather watch the film when it comes out on OTT. It does not mean that a film is a success if it has crossed 300 crores, because not everyone likes it. Please don’t make another Singham. Even I felt the same with Pushpa, it is not a Sukumar's movie, it is no where near to his previous projects , there is a plot but he clearly made it in a regular mass masala template, yes it worked for many, but I am expecting his mark in the second part, lets hope for the best. 🤞

Wonder if Jammy will admit Pathan and Jawan were big scams as well! HUGE scams, which had ridiculous storylines with SRK once again hamming through in some cringy and some extremely CRINGY scenes. Absolute terrible movies and stories both, with hammy acting by SRK… again. And yes, like Pushpa, huge commercial success.
I don't think Sukumar's script would be that bad. A person who mentions "Writing" as an important aspect of his filmmaking can't go completely futile.

The problem with most sequels is that they are not written as a single story, rather created based on what worked in the first film.
The sole reason why Gangs of Wasseypur, Bahubali, etc have had massive success and cult status today.
Its concerning when the sequel is an afterthought but in this case they always wanted to build on Part 2 being Pushpa vs Bhanwar Singh. I just hope they don't forget that in scaling up!
Not all films are written like that. The best example is the Malayalam film Lucifer. It was initially written as a three part film. They have the full story already. The second part Empuraan is going to be released in March 2025.

What's bothering, is that the sheer scale of the second part simply makes it look like a film in different universe. AA looks more animated, dialogues look weaker. Hobestly first movie was avrage at best Skipped in theatres due to your review but upon watching later realised it was just meant to enjoy in theatre with packed crowd.

Pushpa 2 trailer in Hindi amassed 63 million views in just a single day. That's too huge. Pushpa has more target audience in the North and the makers are going to milk it as much as possible, having the trailer launch event in Patna is just the first step and it's the right step too. I'm predicting Pushpa 2 to become a massive hit in the Hindi belt, even if it gets mixed reviews.

That how someone who is uneducated yet is very ambitious is, not to mention the limited resources and career paths they have to achieve success. Success just doesn’t mean being CEO or an actor. Different people have different definitions of success. Agreed it does glorify crime, but it’s no different than those urban con movies, or stock manipulation movies or heist movies.
Movies need to resonate with audiences rather than pretend to be “I am superior, you listen to me”. Preaching without practicing it is what caused downfall of Bollywood.

i never had any issue with rashmika part in part 1. that is how pushpa would react. However that does not mean he have no respect to women because that is entire reason he beat jali reddy. The moral compass or the boundary levels for such people will be different to most of us. They are not the people who understand things like consent and personal space, but they have their own weird moral levels. For example, just because you respect your wife does not mean you have to take her leg and do that, but that's how such people will react. It's all about character rather than what is our comfort levels.

One thing I can say after watching the trailer that the makers went for mass entertainment. I am skeptical about the story, which by the way was engaging in first part. Pushpa means wildfire and all dialogues are to please mass audience.. They will relate to those dialogues cause they feel like they are in the journey with pushpa.. They might not break into larger than life in real life but they know they can enjoy pushpa and feel like they are pushpa in a sense.. Here in telugu its a cultural thing..
