Countryballs - History of the United Kingdom Og Great Britain and Northern Ireland
The UK is by far one of the most developed and wealthy nations in both Europe and the world! But how could such a small country, which is located mainly on one British island, achieve such a colossal success? In this video we'll look at the History of the United Kingdom! The history of Britain begins in ancient times, once on the empty lands there settled tribes of Celts, who occupied the territory of modern Britain and Ireland. With the development of the Roman Empire began expansion into these lands. Italian conquerors were able to occupy the territories of England and Wales through bloody wars.
With the fall of Rome, the migration of peoples began. German tribes of Saxons immigrated to England. They in a short time captured the territories of England and created many states, which in the future united in the English Kingdom. In the Middle Ages there were many wars that affected the English language. The main one was the Anglo-Norman War. England was occupied by the Vikings for many years, so many words were adopted into English speech. After the liberation between France and England began a 100-year war, which lasted 116 years, which also affected the English language and culture of England. With the beginning of the great geographical discoveries, England acquired colonies in North America and successfully expelled France from these lands. Along with the growth of the colonies, England annexed the Scottish kingdom, from which time the United Kingdom - Great Britain was formed.
In the 19th century, the American colonies declared their sovereignty, and the War of Independence of the United States began, which England lost. However, Great Britain began to conduct new expeditions and by the end of the 19th century could boast colonies in India, Asia, Australia and Africa. At the outbreak of World War I, Great Britain entered the war on the side of Russia (Entente), which it won. In 1939, Germany attacked Poland, and World War II began, with Great Britain also contributing to the victory over Nazism. After the victory over World War II, questions of human rights began to be raised. Many African colonies gained independence, and India declared sovereignty from the British crown. However, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and other countries, despite their sovereignty, decided to join the Commonwealth of Nations and recognize the British monarch as the head of state. In the 1990s, Hong Kong left the British Empire. From that moment fell the great empire over which the sun never set

erm what
Thank you man. Not sure it's the right niche but if anyone's interested in early US warfare and army I strongly recommend Schwerpunkt's videos series. Keep up with the amazing work!
English colonies in Virginia and Massachusetts were in 1607 and 1620. They came well before they took NY from the Dutch. Also forgot Spain's entry into Florida and New Mexico a century earlier.
Get out !!!

Completely skipped over when the US was invaded by Pancho Villa in 1916, which triggered the largest and most expensive manhunt in US history, resulted in the first ever use of motorized vehicles in a military campaign, and ultimately gave the US military knowledge on how the German military was fighting in Europe during WW1 since the federal Mexican army was being trained by German forces in order to suppress the revolution it was experiencing

why does this make it look like the indigenous people were peaceful before Europeans?
They were. They never needed the Europeans to be there
@@Hawkmovie13 the natives fought each other all the time… and the Europeans didn’t need the natives to be there either I think they made that obvious

I agree
I was thinking the same
The fact that the war of 1812 was completely ignored is crazy
there was nothing in it besides small scrambles and the burning of a building that isnt even 40 years old isnt important
They also forgot 9/11😞
wow, this is the most accurate thing i have ever seen i my whole life 🙏🙏

I love how britain comes in and is like "nah this dutch colony is mine" and then proceeds to destroy everyone else

5:03 funny enough how whatever that flag in basically Mexico was got like the perfect boarders of Florida today lol
Bro ain't know way brother doesn't know what the flag of the Spanish empire was, plus those are not at all perfect
Ever heard of Spanish Empire?
How you NOT have the Spanish landing in Florida in 1513 and the Establishment of St Augustine in 1565?
Let's help this nice video get to 1M likes 👍😊
it’s very inaccurate
Very big mistakes in the video: you forgot to put the Haudenosaunee Confederacy, which was one of the most impressive nations in Eastern North America before the Europeans arrived. Also, wrong flag for the Mexican Empires. Also, you forgot Sweden’s colony in the Americas.
Not to mention most of these dates are wrong.
It’s just a video bro chill

@@Numberblocks2016that helps me understand the update on Texas related to the 2 seconds left of the video. Thanks! 🙏
8:03 - Banger of a song!
The historical accuracy here was just utterly wrong the Spanish landed first
And the French did not have any of the U.S. East Coast they had most of Canada and the mid west and I am surprised how I did not see the Spanish on the map
How the f*CK are you here 10 hours before the video started?!
Feel free to correct me but I think Columbus was later revealed to have discovered the Caribbean Islands and not the United States
@@Ibrahimcoolboy9fr
The Vikings were the first to discover them, it's better to learn history!
The Spanish empire started in the Caribbean around 1490 and started the colonization of most west South America in the 1500s, the vikings arrived alot earlier in 900 AD in the island of Newfoundland but left in the 14 hundreds and thats when the Spanish Empire was the only remaining country in the Americas, followed by the British, and then French.
Bro keeps doing the history again
Because why not? Idiot
Bro forgot about alaska
Love usa from lebanon ❤
They missed the purchase of Alaska, texas getting its independence, and the annex of Hawaii
wait a minute HOW DID YOU KNOW EVERYTHING?!
9:12 he’s right behind me isn’t he? Ahh moment
So where’s Alaska and Hawaii?
The Gadsden Purchase?
Puerto Rico? Guam? American Samoa? Marianas Islands? Other American territories?
Kinda glossed over things there.
And the Republic of Texas (1836-1845) was not shown in the video, yet the border chaos of the Texas State Government v. Biden Administration was very clearly shown at the end
a lot of things were wrong 💀
cool fact, when you are told that the americans were taxed to much which is one of the reasons why the revolution happened they werent actually taxed to much, which is where the meme of ''Americans hate Taxes'' comes from
Smiley country balls are the most adorable things ever 😊😄

They really skipped where texas became its own country for 9 years
Interesting that your chosen placeholder Native flag is that of the Oglala.
You forgot to add the Alaska and Hawaii purchase
6:56 is wrong it says 1775 but they actually got independence in 1776
It's technicality 1776
They fought in 1775 but declared independence on 1776, although they most them self's independent the most they fought back
I'm watching this On July 4
5:19 ooohhh
I loved the video but I thought there was something about Alaska and Hawaii ik abt what happened with Alaska but not with hawaii
Also what about the Texans? They gained independence right? But later became a state?
The United Kingdom didn’t have the diagonal red stripes until 1801.
You forgot Alaska and Hawaii

Wasn’t Mexico independent in 1821, its fight for independence was in 1810, I believe its independence was in 1821 not 1840. Also I believe Texas was independent before the US and Mexico fought

WHAT YOU LAUGHING AT?
ok but in 1760 when you changed the flag to UK, thats not accurate.. that flag was adopted in 1801 following when Great Britain became The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. also, Scotland joined England with the acts of union in 1707. you were supposed to change it from england to Great Britain in 1707.
other than that, most details were good! keep up the good work
also, the speed in which uk claimed canada was too fast.
this video is really good, it is! but maybe you could remake this, and add all the treaties, colonization and annexation how its supposed to be.
also, canada swapped to the maple leaf in 1965.
also this you didnt need to add but you could've: Canada gained full independence from UK in 1982.
It’s pretty accurate
