The good news about a night time landing with no external lights is that if there is any burn through on the new flaps we’ll be able to see very easily.
You forgot to mention that Rocket Lab's recent launch for Kineis was their second within 24 hours, following a successful HASTE launch from LC-2 the previous evening. Two launches, two hemispheres, within 24 hours? That's a world first.
CASA allowing an aircraft to fly blacked out at the same time a rocket comes in for landing. But flying an FPV drone in a park is a no go unless I give them like $200 and submit a risk assessment involving having to do a survey of the area *months* in advance, FOR A SINGLE FLIGHT. smh.

I’ve always loved the thought of new zealand and Australia having rocket companies im not personally from one of those countries but its good to see that there are countries that aren’t global superpowers that can go to space
I guess both EU and Aus/NZ could be big players. But the ones with most rockets are nuclear and "big" military powers. I.E. they have pushed a buttload of money from the military budget into developing and maintaing expensive space activity. So it is not the tech capabillity, but more the funding.
Have you done a single stage to Duna, if not I'd love a video as I want a ship that can go anywhere and back without staging, preferably one that is easy to build and doesn't use much move tool, love the videos
Is it possible that they have like seperate GPS system for the tower? If they can land within 5mm telerance. They may have something like that? That could be the reason for those natennas. Maybe to calibrate the system?
I wonder if they were measuring how well GPS positioning works with those antennas at 00:54. After all, they need to use military-grade GPS to be able to land precisely on the arms.
It's actually an autocorrect that the tower itself handles. Where gps says you are varies, more than enough to cause the booster to hit the tower. So they figure out the exact GPS location of the tower, then when the tower works out the location the GPS system says it is at a given instant, it compares it to the known actual location, and the tower figures out a correction factor, and sends that to the booster.
@@lordgarion514 You don't need "military-grade GPS" because we already have differential GPS (DGPS) and Real-time Kinematic (RTK) civilian technologies. RTK can get you accurate to centimeters already as long as you have a known location base station nearby with a working radio link!

Can't wait to see Space build up at the cape! Get er done Elon! 8 towers ASAP and construction factories and referberation buildings and storage out of the salt air.
Simplest answer(s) the ship is more efficient as more mass to space basically requires more fuel which kinda defeats the point...also the Falcon 9 is built to land empty so margin of error literally doesn't exist and to land with fuel would basically make it a different rocket
@@jakobusswart1376 surely it has fuel on to do the burn back and slow down for drone ship? Or is it the extra fuel to get into an orbit that would then let it come back in on an entry path for the launch site
@@Marri-Tech yes, it has enough fuel for backburn and suicide burn, only...it's less of the rocket aiming for the drone, but the drone actively aiming for where the rocket will be...if we were to extend its range, that would mean more fuel, but you need more fuel to get the first case of 'more fuel' into space...so it's diminishing returns that quickly turn into, just build a new, bigger, more efficient rocket for that role...

When you have multiple radio sources interference goes up. I would assume these mimic the starships antenna and they are temporary.
