Tango, remember to add a 'intentional fail' button - there might be cases where hermits have to leave before they can finish a game or new players arrive to a still running game without anyone playing (despite you now saying that will not happen we all know it will happen). A easy, simple button here could makes stuff way easier.
- As Skizz died to a silverfish in the farm area and it wasn't seen afterwards. Did the silverfish infest one of the stone blocks in the farm? - For the game that was lost when two customers were served close to each other, is it possible that a timing overlap on the correct food served redstone caused the error? The redstone expected two foods served signals but got one long signal instead of two short pulses? If the issue is that the items are grouping up differently in the water stream then I am amazed that it hasn't happened more. The easiest redstone solution that I can see is to lock out all buttons when one is pushed, you don't need a ton of space for redstone but it does add a few ticks of delay. This would stop players from completing multiple orders too close together. If item clumping is the issue then waterlogged roots on alternate sides in the individual chutes (before the trapdoor) could force all items to clump up on the same side. - The minecarts for item collection needs to be emptied after the game is over. You instantly got rats at the start of a game due to an item going into the stationary minecart the previous game. - Idea to make the inventory issues a bit easier and early day a bit more useful. Place two counters (Polished tuff) somewhere in the kitchen that is always available. This means that players can start preparing by gathering items from the farm to the kitchen as soon as they start the day. A single counter space gives you at least somewhere to start storing or exchanging items but having more spaces will still be valuable. An alternative to you placing two counters would be to allow the players to choose the location and place the counters themselves. This does run into the issue that the players can forget to remove the counters at the end of the game but it does add a tiny bit more strategy of where to place the counters. Making the counters a block type that stands out could help with that? - The block under the door to the farm needs to ba a full block for the upgrade to open it, as it was left last stream is was a single slab. - Player hunger and health seems to be a big deal in the game, controlling your health and hunger is another thing that you have to juggle. The rats and the freezer take a not inconsiderable amount of health away from the player, as was discovered. As a dlc idea a regeneration beacon upgrade might fit in? - Idea for if the issues with silverfish persists, give the player a gold sword to have as a 3rd, fixed item in their inventory. They can't get rid of it and if the sword breaks the slot must be filled by a blocker? - Small thing, have a lamp in the in between days room that is on when the game is active, mostly so that if players are unsure if they survived the day can immediately see if they are still playing. Also place one in the main lobby so that hermits can instantly see if the game is being played. - The foreshadowing at the start of the stream is great, knowing what happened next. - Is the qc issue with the annoyed customers audio fixed? (It was that some of the pistons that triggered the audio were qc powered by the redstone blocks that powered the rails above)
I don’t think they can do custom chest plates. All the custom hats are retextured pumpkins because they look the same in your hand as they do on your head, but there is no item that can go in your torso slot that does that.
@@caltheuntitled8021that makes sense now! so with the newest snapshot changes on displaying items in hand/ground/body differently maybe we’ll see some data packs for other armour in future.
absolutely loving watching runs now that the game is really working! its such a small detail, but actually using hermit heads was a smart call. it is so much more fun to yell about etho and jevin than saying "table 4" or whatever. the game feels so much better with the hermits compared to when it was being run with the test pillager heads!
Maybe have rats only spawn from garbage on the first few days, and have random rat events on later days, to kinda of scale it up slowly. I agree don't get rid of complexity, but I think that complexity needs to be spread out a bit more across the levels to give new players a chance to learn the mechanics over time. Maybe level 2 have the water event, level 3 phone calls, level 4 rats... something like that as an idea. Either way, looks awesome and fun!
When you made decked out you did a special how to play video, i would love to see a how to play instruction video with some of your last life cohorts that are not on hermitcraft
2:40:05 FYI, last HC stream you did, you said that silverfish should not be able to go into the farm area, so you did not slabify the infestible stone in the farm area. Skizz not only died to a silverfish, but he died to one in the farm area. So one of those blocks in the farm area is likely infested... lol chat 2?
The speed of progress on this project is insane to me. It’s been a lot of hard work but it feels like so much complicated game has been built so quickly.
3:14:15 You could make it so when one button is pressed ( serving a customer ) there is a delay before you can press another, essentially just have pistons retract ( piston retraction is instant ) blocking the output of all other buttons
For the scoreboard, I think 1 sign per hermit, for their top score. Top line is the hermit and the second line is who they got that top score with. 3rd line is the day they got to and the 4th line is their score. Does mean that if a pair beat both of their personal scores, you get almost duplicated signs, but I think that's so much easier to read and for easily working out the overal highest score.
If there's gona be punchy punchy by the players to kill the rats, the white half of the floor needs to be something more robust than mushroom stem blocks. There were half a dozen times during testing where those blocks were more than halfway to being broken, which would make for sad Hermits stuck in the noodles.
You should add a minibar to the upgrade room so players can refill their food bar if needed between rounds. Just make sure to rename the food so it can't be used for customers.
Regarding the highscore signs, have one sign for each Hermit that lists their highest score and who they obtained it with. That would allow for Pearl to have their score be 20 (with Cub), and Impulse's score be 15 (with Pearl) without impacting anything. This highlights individual performances but still shows the team.
I think tango should make a replica of the dinner/Restraunt on surface. As the “sign” of the restaurant. If he doesn’t want to do it he could have one of his neighbors help build it.
Hey Tango! Employee board, have the Employee of month sign top middle, names in the middle (on the lights) and the spoons either side and simply rotated to point the desired way
I haven't been able to watch the whole stream yet, so it's possible you or chat noticed this, but one problem with the rat concept is that when the player tries to kill the rat, they may break the mushroom stems that are the floor to the restaurant. A simple fix would be to replace the block with another block (quartz, bone block) that doesn't break so quickly.
Also since player hunger seems to be an issue, maybe you could provide a couple of non servable foods (like cooked lamb) to them at the start of each day. Still keeps the resource management but is less annoying
For game balance, I would decrease the rate of customers rather than increasing patience too much more. This makes it easier for new players early but allows for experienced players to make more use of the phone to get bonus points. Later on, phoning in a customer would be a death wish.
you could do spaghetti by putting a horn coral fan (the yellow one) on one of your snowball dishes. but the block it is sitting on might need to be a waterlogged leaf (under the mozz/beehive table armor stand)
I don't know how time consuming this would be, but a cool and compact way to show player scores would be the top 3 with heads either above or below the signs, but then the heads would be half one hermit, half the other. Shouldn't take too long on a skin editor, but I reckon it would be a lot of heads (maybe create them on demand for weekly scores, for example) Unlikely to happen, but would be fun
If they go long enough they will also need to cook for themselves, so ya timing down for sure. Also to start the game, go with the classic (slowly) the game... Begins... In.... (Very very quickly) 3,2,1,GO!
I was home sick from work last week and rewatched all the Tango/Skizz Plate Up streams so this was a pleasant surprise today. Just as hilarious as you guy’s playing the real game
For the upgrades, maybe make it by default that the upgrade goes through so only 1 button on the wall for rerolls and the upgrade comes to affect once the next day starts.
Freezer idea: removing the powdered snow directly next to the door. It allows the player in the freezer to stay alive if the other is busy... but doesn't allow the player in the freezer to obtain meats while sitting there to stay alive.
I do like the idea of like a "Employees of the month" podium. Maybe a top 3 teams as a podium with each spot 2 armor stands with standard gear and then the hermit heads (so it's easy to switch)
for the employee meal - maybe it could be mushroom stew? with saturation or regeneration to maybe help prevent people from dying to rats *cough cough* skizz
On the scores- Could make the room bigger, have top X scores display, and then book and lectern for each player to record their scores with different partners, maybe with them displaying their top score above the lectern? Or similar to what was said about with individual book pages.
The damage from freezing and rats is annoying enough but death is kind of a forced end of game especially since the blocker items can be picked up as trash. Maybe have a resistance and regen becon so they cant die but still be annoyed by the damage.
I know you scrapped the pressure plate in the fridge for one player, but what about coordinated pressing for two players to open the door? it would prevent an automatic game over AND be hilarious as both players push each other in panic to get out.
* Maybe use a different pressure plate to go to the farm in case other Hermits are as observing as Skizz. * Can you somehow lock the customer done buttons if one was pressed in the last 3-5 seconds?
having patience long longer will be a lot better for the hermits to keep it balance have the patience long longer but after day 8 it get shorter a lot faster, then
really hope something is done about the audio, wish i could just tell tango to make it more balanced, its off putting hearing some of the sounds clearly peaking but somehow twitch chat doesnt complain, meanwhile the minecraft sounds are barely audible in relation
In Theorie the Gamemechanik should be reversed. Now the Hermits get upgraded to help them out. If we look at plate up it gets harder not easier. This would be my critic that, at least now, the game seems harder at the start.
My suggestion for the rats would be none on day one. 50% chance for 1 rat to spawn on day two. Day three and onward will have 1 rat spawn randomly per day. Then at day six or something it will be become 2 rats per day. This will make it easier for the first few days and then gradually get harder. Exterminator upgrade can be obtained at the end of day 3 so you will experience the rats at least once.
Tango, remember to add a 'intentional fail' button - there might be cases where hermits have to leave before they can finish a game or new players arrive to a still running game without anyone playing (despite you now saying that will not happen we all know it will happen). Broo..
that’s some note taking dedication
Boosting for great feedback!
Rats turn into super rats if they spawn while the restaurant is flooded, because of the lack of fall damage.
You could give (as an award) a custom breastplate that's a chef's apron! Second place team could have a "Sous Chef" apron.
I don’t think they can do custom chest plates. All the custom hats are retextured pumpkins because they look the same in your hand as they do on your head, but there is no item that can go in your torso slot that does that.

Also someone has made a resource pack that turns zombies into skizzlemans, including the sounds
"Someone died to a berry bush", Yes in a game literally designed to kill you. This game is not designed to kill you.
How about the trashcan being an upgrade? per default force people to throw their trash on the ground and trigger rats (or carry it to the farm)
