I'm a 2009 118i M Sport hatch owner. Off your list I've had a timing chain, rear ABS rings, 1 set of coil packs, 1 injector in the 9 years I've had it. Admittedly the rear wiper is stuck in the middle at the mo, but it's a pleasure to own, I love driving it. I see no reason to change my car.
@@slecco6930 I happen to have bought a secondhand 2008 118i about a year ago. I think it's a great car but some costs could be a bit higher compared to some other cars. I got mine at 241k KM on the clock but with a lot of big maintenance done at a specialist or dealer. In the 30k KM i drove since, i've had 2 unfortunate replacements being the radiator & gearbox catchpan (both fittings cracked simply from age, wear & tear). Other than that no engine lights or anything "major". I'd say the classic thing of keep about 10 to 20% of the price of the car in your savings for any preventive/sudden repairs. They told me after the last APK (to check if your vehicle is safe and maintained enough to stay on the Dutch roads) that all is well and i won't have to come back for what we call big maintenance (them checking all fluids and parts prone to wear) for another 30k KM or 2 years. I'd advise to check for cars that have all the maintenance & parts receipts present so you can check for yourself if all the big stuff like timing chains has already been done recently or is coming up.
