@@GroomHouse I highly suspect the dog to be a Hungarian Puli, a mopdog, it's a very common breed here. You did the right thing to shave it's fur, because it was a really bad shape even for a Puli. Just be aware that this breed's fur cords naturally, and grows much faster than normal. Their dreadlocks are very high maintenance to keep them clean and nice. Otherwise a very healthy breed. I just wanted you to know that for them the dreads are a wanted things, and not the sign of neglect. But this dog's dreads were beyond saving so you did a good job shaving it.

Wonderful, OK!!! But they abandoned him again on the street and still with the injured paw. Just a bath and a hair clipping is no use! He helped the dog, but he remained abandoned on the street. Sad very sad.
This brought tears to my eyes. The thought of a poor animal being treated this way, and for his newly adopted Dad made me tear up. Thank you for giving this wonderful boy another chance at the life he deserves. The way he just relaxed and let himself be groomed showed how much he appreciated being taken care of. He was such a good boy! I’m overwhelmed with emotions, but thank you a thousand times for giving this guy a loving home and another chance at life. Bravo!!

I had a dog like that. Just as calm and cooperative as could be. Gentlest soul I ever met in my entire life. Groomers and vets were crazy for him because he was so easy and sweet. This old boy here seems same. What a doll. So very happy he got the care he needed and deserved.
Probably it was so calm having been groomed regularly in its early life and was out as a stray so long its hair grew and matted and was that horrific mess.
@@SuperWilster He does not put dogs back on the street! He places them in a foster home, and then finds a family to adopt the dogs he rescued. Don’t know what gave you the idea that he returns dogs to the street.
I love how gentle and tender she was with him. You can really feel that she's a loving and kind hearted person from those little interactions she had with him while she was grooming him.

It wouldn't make sense to put in hours of effort cleaning him up then throwing back on the street (though there's been so many shitty and fake 'rescue' channels on youtube, you would 100% be right in thinking this!) wouldn't make too much sense

I like how gentle they were to him, it’s probably the reason he was so calm. That and the possibility that he has been groomed in the past, or that it probably just felt good to get rid of the coat and the fleas and ticks. He looks very grateful for the help and deserves it so much.
Sitting in the tub first, he's thinking "This is a good day!" At least, he's never been abused (except for neglected fur) or he'd have winced away from you, or worse.
Or, did they have the dog already, then allow the hair to grow out of control and then cut it just to make the video?. After all clicks earn cash, that would also justify the dog being so calm because it was used to be around the person. These videos earn creators a LOT of cash and they need content. Do they just get 'lucky' and find dogs needing haircuts every week, month and so on ?. Wake up people, RUclips is a full time job and using emotional content to earn at animals sake

It wasn't just excess weight. Severely matted hair like this dog had can pull the skin very tight and even cause small tears in extreme cases. It's very likely that this dog was in some degree of pain until all that was removed.

My dog trusted me like this too (he let me scrape his teeth with a dental scaler, normally they sedate them for that), but he had known me all his life. This dog just met the groomer. Amazing. Maybe he had given up and figured any change was an improvement.
That's not a normal reaction. Happy dogs are usually wagging their tail. He is clearly so depressed that he is ready to die and ceases to care about the shaving of his fur.
What a patient dog, he was ready and glad to get all that heavy hair off of him, not to mention the fleas and ticks. He must be feeling so much better now. He dealt with that grooming as if he's done it 1,000 times before. Those fleas were huge!

I just watched another groomer clean up a way matted dog and was put off by how rough she was with the dog. I loved seeing how gentle and reassuring you were with this one. Great job! This is how I would want my dog taken care of.

@@9-5-VictorVictor-2 If it was an abandoned/lost pet, it's possible that it was just used to being groomed because pets, especially ones with long hair, are often getting haircuts.
Shoot, even just the weight of all those matted dreadlocks pulling at the skin could make it easy to nick him with the clippers. Makes the process more difficult and requires extra care to be taken.

This brought tears to my eyes. The thought of a poor animal being treated this way, and for his newly adopted Dad made me tear up. Thank you for giving this wonderful boy another chance at the life he deserves. The way he just relaxed and let himself be groomed showed how much he appreciated being taken care of. I had a dog like that. Just as calm and cooperative as could be. Gentlest soul I ever met in my entire life. Groomers and vets were crazy for him because he was so easy and sweet. This old boy here seems same. What a doll. So very happy he got the care he needed and deserved.

Probably it was so calm having been groomed regularly in its early life and was out as a stray so long its hair grew and matted and was that horrific mess.

It wasn't just excess weight.
Severely matted hair like this dog had can pull the skin very tight and even cause small tears in extreme cases.
It's very likely that this dog was in some degree of pain until all that was removed.

My dog trusted me like this too (he let me scrape his teeth with a dental scaler, normally they sedate them for that), but he had known me all his life. This dog just met the groomer. Amazing. Maybe he had given up and figured any change was an improvement.
Maybe he was drugged with some calming medication. So he stays quiet and dizzy for 2-3 hours
That's not a normal reaction. Happy dogs are usually wagging their tail. He is clearly so depressed that he is ready to die and ceases to care about the shaving of his fur.

What a patient dog, he was ready and glad to get all that heavy hair off of him, not to mention the fleas and ticks. He must be feeling so much better now. He dealt with that grooming as if he's done it 1,000 times before. Those fleas were huge!

The fact that he was so calm during the grooming shows that he was cared for at one time. He was used to what was being done. I hope someone kept him and didn't just turn him loose.

Read the video description, they didn't. This sweet little guy was adopted by a woman whose house can be seen in the background in the beginning and end of the video, but the woman herself chose not to be on camera.

I just watched another groomer clean up a way matted dog and was put off by how rough she was with the dog. I loved seeing how gentle and reassuring you were with this one. Great job! This is how I would want my dog taken care of.

@@9-5-VictorVictor-2 If it was an abandoned/lost pet, it's possible that it was just used to being groomed because pets, especially ones with long hair, are often getting haircuts.

Shoot, even just the weight of all those matted dreadlocks pulling at the skin could make it easy to nick him with the clippers. Makes the process more difficult and requires extra care to be taken.

I'm amazed at how sweet, gentle, and cooperative he is. He even shook the hand of the groomer after she finished her job as he was thanking her. This dog deserves a wonderful home and a lot of love

I just cannot get over how sweet and cooperative he was! I'm sure it was uncomfortable and scary at times but he never once moved, totally understanding the situation.

This dog understood what was been done . So very calm and and compliant. Beautiful!
He also had 15 ticks on him that were stealing his blood. That probably didn't leave him with a whole lot of energy to do anything.

Yes, what a beautiful dog. So patient despite the awful neglect he’s endured. I hope his front paw got some attention. The eternal question is: how can people be so cruel to animals? Not to mention each other. I will never be able to understand it, no matter how many examples I see. But thank heaven for the kind souls who took him in.
