to go from abusive relationship, to suicidal thoughts/calling suicide hotline, to finding herself again...I'm so proud of her for not giving up and finding a new way to live with joy again. Beautiful story and woman.
Thank you so much Bob Wells for sharing my story and for being a great host! You are an inspiration to many people, including myself. Keep up the great work! see ya on the road! 🚐✨
I’m so impressed with this young lady. From picking herself up from an abusive relationship talking to people that she trusted to planning and preparing a way to live out her dream having the courage to leave her good job and sell her house to live her dream. And I want to add she’s a wonderful loving mommy to her fur baby. So very proud of her. 😊💕
Yes..she was open as to what helped..Kudos to her mom for recommending painting. Even if we are not talented we can try our own "abstract" or even painting by numbers, because it is the distraction and creative effect which helps. We can be crying as we start but as we go on our tears may dry as we get absorbed in what we're doing. It is always a build up of the little things, as she said, looking out of the window, spotting a bird, watching it for a while. No, it's not the whole answer , it's also reaching out for help as this lovely lady did, very important, she gave such good advice and deserves happy travels!
She’s my inspiration indeed. My daughter is 18, and eventually once I’m an empty nester, I’m preparing to buy an RV and save and live happily ever after. 😌
I appreciate the way Bob and Brian allow people time and space to tell their stories uninterrupted and if they need a little prompting, they step in and do so. I love the size and layout of her RV. It's exactly what I'm looking for.
I separated from my husband last year of 2023 we have 4 kids. I slept in my car for a week and got approved for a 19 ft Rv few months later upgraded to a 34ft. Here I almost a year in.. Thanks for the video❤
Loved your interview with Vanna Mae. She was so open and had the courage to share her mental health struggles. We all struggle at times, and it is important to talk about it. She truly helps others. Loved her rig, I would not have believed 19 ft was big enough to live in, but the way she has it set up it's so well organized. Happy Travels to her! Thank you Bob for another awesome video!
I relate to almost ALL of this. From the DV, to the suicide hotline, to the sadness, to buying that exact same rig from Cruise America! I'm so proud of you!❤ This is so motivating and inspiring for me personally! Thank you! My planning continues! I want my tiny traveling home!
What a beautiful and lovely young lady! An inspiration for everyone who's gone through sadness and deep depression! Instead of accepting defeat, she reached out to the right people for help to regain her strength! Becoming a resilient force in the face of adversity! Love how Vanna Mae took charge to begin a new chapter in her life journey. And being in the right path caused all things in her life to prosper, is an absolute blessing! Thank you, Vanna Mae, for sharing your inspirational story with us. Love how you created a cozy and functional living space in your RV for you and your loving Kitty, Indigo. Thank you Bob for another great video!
We don't have time to realize our personal dreams, due to us killing ourselves working to obtain the American nightmare! I admire Bob and this sister for waking up!
The fact that such a beautiful young woman who was living "The American Dream" has now been living her new dream will be so inspirational to heaps of other young (and older) folk. And Vanna has been at it for two years.....how cool is that....show's that it isn't just a whim but truly a game changer for her :) And what an absolute lovely name....Vanna Mae....very original....Love it!
I've watched your videos for years and have never commented...but I'm so happy she got the courage to get help, ask for help, and knew to exit a toxic situation. Not many people are able to do that. *hug* Thank you for sharing her story and thank you for all your videos.
A wonderful interview to start my Sunday! Savanna is a person who gives older people like us a breath of hope for this world. As was mentioned the internet portrays a far different picture of the world, than the reality! Thank you Savanna and Bob for a wonderful and encouraging interview!
It's inspiring that Vanna has found her own path to nomad self sufficiency. Not a digital nomad. Not itinerant labor. And with a big enough space to let life go where it will. May that bring you fulfillment and and happiness in your future.
I absolutely LOVE her vibe and the vibe of her RV! So glad to hear she's living life on her own terms. I can definitely relate. Wishing her and Indigo the best!
I met this young lady at Quartzsite this year. Just lovely & I brought a couple of her beautiful art pieces, 🎨, I love. Thanks for creating the center art pic, on my autographed RUclips Famous hat 😉, it was a hit. Continued safe travels & adventures, take care. LeLe Fr: Cali🌞😎
She is totally an inspiration to me! I’ve been living the corporate life for a long time and I can never stop looking at rvs and dreaming . But I have two cats and I worry about them liking a life that would be possibly too confining. If I had one cat it would be better but it is what it is. Currently I renovated a small tab trailer and I just take small trips solo mostly in California. Maybe one day I’ll sell my house and buy the nice rv.
Cats do adapt! I can totally relate, I was scared that Indigo might not like the lifestyle, but giving her time to rub her scent on everything and for her to realize this was her home as well, she quickly adapted and enjoys it as much as I do.
She spoke of training Indigo to leash a year before she took off … so she did some prep. I have traveled with 2 different dog and cat pairs over the last 17 years. My first cat was leash trained, the 2nd not. They both adapted. I think we sometimes project what we think might happen or how they will feel. I now have a 3rd dog and cat pair … neither have been in the rv and my rv has been off the road for some years. I am getting all of us and the RV ready with short trips as well as leaving the door open when I’m doing things outside and they are with me so that they can explore while it is not moving. We’ll see :)
I understand....we have a 12 year old daughter, a dog, and FIVE cats which holds us back from our dream of traveling (as well as finances) We camp often which definitely helps my mental health and one day we hope to be able to buy a bus. Best of luck to you!!
I completely relate. I got so tired of corporate life, or maybe it was more having to work full time for so many decades. My most enjoyable and relaxing experiences have always been road trips, so I've been drawn to this lifestyle for awhile. I finally retired a year ago, which gave me the free time, but had 4 pets that included a nearly 18 year old dog and a very active, athletic cat who went stir crazy indoors if she couldn't go outside a couple of times a day to run off her excess energy. I couldn't come up with any scenario for nomading that wouldn't be stressful for all 5 of us, so I didn't pursue it. But within the past 2 months, both my elderly dog crossed the Rainbow Bridge and, very unexpectedly, so did my active, athletic cat. That leaves my other cat, who doesn't like to go outside (but loves car trips!) and my tiny Chihuahua, who also is completely content being indoors (she's even potty pad trained) and is also easy to travel with. Plus, they're very good buddies. So I have no doubt that I could finally nomad with them, although I've determined that van life wouldn't work for us, so a small class C like this woman has, or a small towable, would be just right.
I found Vanna Mae a little over a year ago while I was searching for information on Cruise America RVs. I was so impressed with her and the way that she truly took her RV from, just that, an RV to a home. Her home is so cozy. I'm still a subscriber and look forward to following her journey whenever she feels it right to share again on RUclips. Safe journeys.
Absolutely honest, down earth, beautiful, creative, warm and inviting personality, I wish you all the best. Thanks for being transparent with your mental and emotional challenges, it’s helped me be honest with myself. God bless you hope to see you on the road. Thanks again Bob!
I really like when interviewers are good listeners. She had a great story to tell. At 66 I lived 40 years working for a corporation but didn't really discover myself and what I really wanted to do until I retired at 61.
I clicked because I’ve seen a couple of your videos. This one because I saw the 19’er. I never thought I would be so inspired as I am by this video, she really spoke to me. So tired of the hamster wheel. Thanks again
You are an amazing woman. You overcame domestic violence & depression & that’s an amazing thing to do. You will give others alike motivation to move forward. Thank you & your van is great!
Very inspiring young Lady Glad she found her Love for self and doing a very good thing with her art and her willingness to try other experiences in life working on a farm - modeling and doing her artwork for income. Would be interested in seeing some of her art I did get a glance @ some pieces I like her home Best of luck To Her Blessings Always.
Thank you, Vanna Mae and Bob, This young lady is an amazing spirit, a beautiful soul who fought to find her true beautiful self. Bob thank you for sharing !! I wish Vanna Mae much happiness and blessings!🥰
U are an amazing young lady. You did not let your trials ruin your life.God Bless you on your Wonderful journey..You are a Beautiful lady, inside and out.
What an inspiring young lady. Courageously sharing her life with us. There is a sweet kindness and compassion about her . I hope she continues to do her art and writing and sharing it with the world. I wish her the best of life , the best of love , and the very best of everything.
Thanks for inviting us into your lovely, colorful, bright and cheerful crib, Vanna! I think you'd love it here in New Orleans. So much good art and music...well, food too! We have a dozen universities and art schools always looking for models, and so many venues to sell your art. We're all crazy here, but we're not the deep south. Consider a visit! Happy trails!
Love love love this video! The future is bright for her (and sweet travel companion)! Such an amazing young woman, adorable set up and victorious story. We’ll be following! K
I believe that Indigo is describing her day in the life in her van; simultaneously while her mom is speaking about hers. That’s why she’s in every camera shot. 😉 😉 😅🥹🙂🙃
I am 76 and Vanna Mae reminds me of an old hippie girlfriend from the 60's. She is talented, beautiful, and resourceful. I have a sister who was in an emotionally abusive relationship, when she was young, and it took her decades to recover. Vanna Mae's mom must have known, somehow, that the watercolor set would eventually set her free from her past burdens. I like her home because I am not a fan of slide outs.
“Creating your space” - yes, so well put! Love this interview! And yes: happiness and connection make all the difference! Some very important nuggets of wisdom for solo women travelers! Priceless! 😊☘️💜🌟🌈
It's funny, I came to this channel to hype myself up for my future RV plans, and this girl is living my exact dream. I'll be traveling across the country in a class C selling my watercolors!
What an amazing human being!! Love and appreciate her bravery in talking about her journey. Congratulations in finding your sense of SELF and your freedom!! 💙
What a great story of over coming depression and starting a new life on her own terms ! She will be an inspiration for many people in the same situation that she was in ! Great interview !
What an admirable young woman Vanna Mae is, she looks so very happy in her new life, I wish her happiness and lots of pleasure and success in everything she does together with her true friend Indigo.
Thankyou Bob, for letting Vanna talk about what brought her to the point of RVing. Her explanation of how she recognised and dealt with depression was very good, and will hopefully help many. 🙂👍
Absolutely captivating, I usually skip the interview unless it speaks to me and that is what her interview did for me. She really laid it out for me. So happy the universe was there for her. Her freinds and family, especially her mom, crisis clinic guy, Bob etc. And especially herself. Such a great story that she is still working on. Beautiful! Vanna you will be in my heart and thoughts for a long time helping me along the way!
This woman is a teacher and healer. Many can learn and be guided by her experience. I value this video greatly. Not just her beautiful words and experience, but mostly for others since I'm living my dream already. Heartfelt wishes to everyone who needs help transitioning and finding themself and their passion.
She is inspirational, indeed. Where there’s a will, there’s a way and she teaches us that by sharing her survival story. Thanks for sharing this one, Bob.
What a great interview. She's very inspiring. I love how she stores her food in mason jars. I always thought having glass containers in a moving vehicle would break.
Vanna Mae’s videos inspired us to buy a similar 19g thru cruise Canada , in fact we’re watching this video in the 19g bunk on the road touring PA fall foliage
Beautiful, when my husband passed away, I was just about ready to go, I had everything ready, knowing that I had a one shot deal while waiting for disability to come in,I had it all ready, only to have Ian take it away,I ended up homeless now, dreams of this life is over,I do have a monthly income, but 58 yrs old, everything went into my camper van, solar, everything from A-z,gone,with no kids or a hope at all, I am so discouraged, bit this was a bit of hope for me,I was so excited.
What a WONDERFUL story - I turned to van life too as the Australian Dream CRUSHED my personal dreams and personal self.I've never been happier. I travel with THREE elderly cats...I adore them and they love the life. My daughter has lived the van life with me and she's looking at buying her own van now and so is her best friend!! They are going to travel together performing their music. It will be full time for them too. I'm so glad this lovely young woman got to realise her dreams and that she meets wonderful people like yourself Bob. I've found that when you're an artistic soul, it kills the soul and spirit to be trapped in one place. Her lovely cat Indigo would be a lovely companion as are my fur babies. With 3 cats, I never have a problem with mice 😊😺
What a lovely person you are Vanna Mae! Thank you for sharing your story and especially for telling how you asked for help. That is not easy … actually much of your journey I imagine was extremely challenging … and not that I think all is now perfect all of the time, but you look happy, serene and at peace. And confident!! Your home is beautiful also. Happy Travels!
Vanna, thank you so much for your openness. You really struck a nerve with me when you mentioned you’d get home from work and just cry and how life should not be like that!! 100% me right now! I’ve been wanting to do what you do for a few years now. One of the big things to check off my list was finding a remote job and I do have that now but it’s very stressful and I think it’s a great opportunity to get me on the road at least. The hardest part for me is selling my condo. I doubled the value of my condo living here for six years and I want to pull my money out before the market drops. I really wish I had a house because then I’d be able to park an RV in my driveway and get it ready to go on the road. I don’t know how to pull it all together. And then I look around and I’m like oh my God how do I get rid of all this crap!! Lol. Anyhow thank you so much for being an amazing inspiration. I am really sorry that you got all down and out years prior to even get to the point of dialing the suicide prevention line. Honestly I don’t know how I have avoided all those thoughts because I have no family left and I really don’t have any friends other than acquaintances. Sad. But I am definitely not living the life that I should be. I think at some point or another I’m just gonna have to make a damn decision and move forward with it! And just realize everything will fall into place.
to go from abusive relationship, to suicidal thoughts/calling suicide hotline, to finding herself again...I'm so proud of her for not giving up and finding a new way to live with joy again. Beautiful story and woman.
I want her so bad.
She turned her life around, all by her sweet self! What a cool story of hope for so many of us. Love this!
Thank you so much Bob Wells for sharing my story and for being a great host!
You are an inspiration to many people, including myself. Keep up the great work! see ya on the road! 🚐✨
Hi Vanna Mae, Great job sourcing your RV and I love your cat box!
Amazing interview Vanna Mee! I've subscribed to your channel. 😊
Thank you, Vanna, for sharing your home and story!! Inspiring 💫🚐
You are an inspiration as well!! Happy travels to you and Indigo!
All the best, living your best life, Vanna!🧡
I’m so impressed with this young lady. And I want to add she’s a wonderful loving mommy to her fur baby. So very proud of her. 😊💕
An amazing woman, the ability to see her vision and move through depression was described so well.
Yes, she was so open and insightful.
You may have given up everything but you saved yourself. So happy for you.
Thanks for being so transparent.
Yes..she was open as to what helped..Kudos to her mom for recommending painting. At least she's healthy and has her own house that she can sell to start van life. Nothing could depress me with that background.
Right
She’s my inspiration indeed. My daughter is 18, and eventually once I’m an empty nester, I’m preparing to buy an RV and save and live happily ever after. 😌
Me too
Me too. But not fulltime. But I will spend a lot of time on the road.
Mine is 16 and I’m counting down and saving. I’m excited for your journey!
Me too I’m so afraid that about time I get my van no one will be van living
I appreciate the way Bob and Brian allow people time and space to tell their stories uninterrupted and if they need a little prompting, they step in and do so. I love the size and layout of her RV. It's exactly what I'm looking for.
Totally agree!!! He allowed her time to share what happened in her life!! And her story!! And it is so great!!❤️
Exactly!
This would be an ideal size for my solo travel an lifestyle as well!! Wonderful story!! 🎉❤😂😅
@kellonwheelz excellent comment, she really needed to get it all out of her mind.
How a great interview should be!
I separated from my husband last year of 2023 we have 4 kids. I slept in my car for a week and got approved for a 19 ft Rv few months later upgraded to a 34ft. Here I almost a year in.. Thanks for the video❤
That’s sweet hope your happy and healing peace and love from Detroit Mi
She is SUCH an inspiration. Makes me want to sell my house and do this at age 61 years!
You can do it! Wishing you all the luck!
Go for it!
Do it👍🏾
Me too.
You can do it too. I'm 56 sold my house last August bought a 5th wheel and now I'm ready to go smaller.
She brought tears to my eyes. She moves through life with incredible grace!
"The American Dream crushes our own personal dream." Wow, that just puts a big truth so succinctly.
Love to see women of color on this channel. More, please!
I do as well too!! ❤
Hes had woman of color many times, when did not stop being a color,i have seen many white woman,,who are of color
Loved your interview with Vanna Mae. She was so open and had the courage to share her mental health struggles. We all struggle at times, and it is important to talk about it. She truly helps others. Thank you, Vanna Mae, for sharing your inspirational story with us.
Love how you created a cozy and functional living space in your RV for you and your loving Kitty, Indigo.
Thank you Bob for another great video!
You can tell the demeanor of the pet owner, by the demeanor of the pet. And Indigo is totally chillax!
We don't have time to realize our personal dreams, due to us killing ourselves working to obtain the American nightmare! I admire Bob and this sister for waking up!
I am so proud of her! Turning a negative into a positive! Beautiful Van! I wish I had her lifestyle 🙂
Precious kitty! ❤
Vanna is such a lovely, peaceful woman. I feel rested just listening to her:-) Vanna, if you read this, I wish you all of your dreams. -keith
Thank you so much Keith. ❤️ I appreciate your well wishes.
LOVE THE IDEA OF BEING ABLE TO GET INTO THE DRIVER'S SEAT WITHOUT GOING OUTSIDE. SAFER.
This was so inspiring. She did not let anything keep her down and is living a life of freedom. And the RV is lovely! Best wishes for her!
The fact that such a beautiful young woman who was living "The American Dream" has now been living her new dream will be so inspirational to heaps of other young (and older) folk.
And Vanna has been at it for two years.....how cool is that....show's that it isn't just a whim but truly a game changer for her :)
And what an absolute lovely name....Vanna Mae....very original....Love it!
I love how she stays places for months. Such a great way to settle in an area and keep routine before moving on.
I've watched your videos for years and have never commented...but I'm so happy she got the courage to get help, ask for help, and knew to exit a toxic situation. Not many people are able to do that. *hug* Thank you for sharing her story and thank you for all your videos.

What's wrong with being a digital nomad? It's the greatest occupation in the world!
I absolutely LOVE her vibe and the vibe of her RV! So glad to hear she's living life on her own terms. I can definitely relate. Wishing her and Indigo the best!

So happy for her. She has excellent attitude about her safety on road
Indigo is looking like a kid when the plumber comes over. I really like the size of this rig. Small but tall, all amenities factory installed.
She is totally an inspiration to me! I’ve been living the corporate life for a long time and I can never stop looking at rvs and dreaming . The waterbottles are a great idea!
Vanna and Indigo are lovely!
💗💗
As an artist myself I am inspired by what she has accomplished and the direction she is going. I would love to see more of her art. Great job girl. 😊

The most AMAZING women wear their homes on their backs!!
I believe that Indigo is describing her day in the life in her van; simultaneously while her mom is speaking about hers. That’s why she’s in every camera shot. 😉 😉 😅🥹🙂🙃
Stop giving to people who are toxic. Start loving you and giving yourself the best life.
What a beautiful story from a beautiful woman. ❤❤
Vanna is very sweet and happy. These are the healthy people that belong in van life....
I am 76 and Vanna Mae reminds me of an old hippie girlfriend from the 60's. She is talented, beautiful, and resourceful. She has Van in her name. What's not to love? Very brave and honest to tell her story.
“Creating your space” - yes, so well put! Love this interview! And yes: happiness and connection make all the difference! Some very important nuggets of wisdom for solo women travelers! Priceless! 😊☘️💜🌟🌈
Beauty is usually only skin deep but this young lady is beautiful to the core. God bless her and keep her safe.

This girl rocks!
I have 19 ft class c. Love this !!!!!! Mine is ‘97, dually
Thankyou Bob, for letting Vanna talk about what brought her to the point of RVing. Her explanation of how she recognised and dealt with depression was very good, and will hopefully help many. 🙂👍
Very proud of this brave young lady! She is a true inspiration!
Beautiful young woman..very nice home. Thanks for sharing.
Adorable young woman-so happy she’s happy again. She deserves to be.
You are a beautiful & eloquent woman with an inspiring & powerful story~
She is inspirational, indeed. Where there’s a will, there’s a way and she teaches us that by sharing her survival story. Thanks for sharing this one, Bob.
Good for her she got away from toxic relationship. RV is the perfect size, that's what I want.
OMG!!!!! She is beyond beautiful!!!!! ❤ Wow!!! What an amazing woman!!!! Thank you for this video!!!! 🤩😍
What a beautiful woman, the world is better with her in it! God bless.
What a sweet lady. I like her rig and love how her cat has taken to the nomad life. Great tour.
Simplicity is the key to a successful and peaceful life. ❤I love it.
What a sweet woman 🙏 So good to hear that everything fell into place for Vanna at the end ❤️
Greetings from Denmark 🇩🇰🇩🇰 🇩🇰
This woman is very wise and such an inspiration.
Your story really hits home Vanna! Best of luck to you and sweet little Indigo! ❤️
🇺🇸 A survivor! She is much stronger NOW! Love these stories. Love her spirit.
What a great interview. She's very inspiring. I love how she stores her food in mason jars. I always thought having glass containers in a moving vehicle would break.
Love her RV and story❤️
Vanna Mae’s videos inspired us to buy a similar 19g thru cruise Canada , in fact we’re watching this video in the 19g bunk on the road touring PA fall foliage
Aww what a sweet girl! Good for her! I give her a lot of credit venturing out on her own!
What an awesome woman and cat! Blessings to you both! Much love and respect. Living free and beautiful. You brought light into my day :)
Wow, this lady has her life together. She has figured things out.
A Beautiful and courageous women, I love your life style and enjoyed your enthusiasm Many Blessings. 😊
I enjoyed watching Vanna and her cat 🐈⬛ show off their home. Very nice home. 👍🏻
Damn, ditto
She is so sweet ..God Bless her
Vanna seems like a very lovely and well adjusted young lady! Its easy to see the inner joy at the lifestyle she has found!
