I imagine if there were walls on the spiral impeller, rather than just a single helix shaped line, it would perform much better. Incredibly awesome build though, thoroughly impressive.
Hi, thanks for the comment! I agree with your thoughts. I only had one chance to get this build right as I don't have snow in my country and took this abroad with me when I was away on holiday. I'd loved to have time to refine it and test different impeller designs but alas!
I tried making something like this as a kid and my only goal was to make a contraption that could drive across the snow. I think it was a k'nex contraption come to think of it using standard gear motors I got from an old ferris wheel. Added long rods to each wheel so it was basically like it was 'walking' along the snow. The idea was that the extended rods gave it lots of ground clearance and lots of grip on the snow. I set it down and it walked for a bit but it got stuck almost immediately. At which point I just accepted "its just a toy, i don't know why i thought that would work" So to see this working perfectly, if very slow, is like my attempt as a kid succeeded on a larger scale and a higher budget lol. Great work!
This is actually insane. Idk how this doesn't have more views. I think the ejection port could be better directed/shielded though, seems like a lot of snow is getting spewed all over the craft.
Thanks! I mentioned to another commenter - this build was taken on a plane on a recent holiday as I don’t live in a country with much snow! Therefore it was untested and I had to take an educated guess regarding the blower / chute etc! And I couldn’t fit anymore spare LEGO in my case! But I agree - a longer chute would have been great!! 👍🏼
@@BuilditwithBricks Damn wtf dude you are crazy. You had to take it to another country to test it? Your LEGO creation became an international endeavor.
@@Certifier yeah, getting all the batteries through airport security was fun! And a certain amount of rebuild on arrival where I hadn’t quite protected the machine perfectly in my case…
6.1K views for this masterpiece? Cmon RUclips algorithm show him some love! Only thing that could be improved would be an extra blower and chute to get the snow a bit further away
Thanks! I don’t live in a country with large amounts of snow so this build came with me on a plane ✈️ on a recent holiday! This meant I had to guess at the entire outcome without testing and I had one shot at the mechanism and build. I’d have loved a longer chute your right - but I ran out of room in the suitcase for more LEGO!
one thing I'd suggest if you were to do a revision is shield the components (motors, batteries , etc) so snow doesn't get on them and potentially cause damage as it melts
Man, that was birlliant! One would think that you are an engineer in a big company but maybe you are an archivist, spending most of the working day in a celllar and creating fantastic things like this in your spare time? Anyway, this was reall impressive. So I subscribed immediately. 🙂
Very well done, looks super cool! I am jealous you have so much technic haha. However, I do feel the need to point out that it would work much better if the augers weren't hollow.
Thanks for the support! I thought about solid augers but took the decision to keep them hollow so as not to stress the motors too much, I agree in the real world solid augers work better! Thanks!
you could absolutely get away with a little less gearing on the drivetrain. that way you won't ave to speed up any moving footage, and it will still be torqy enough
An ENTIRE DECIMETER THICK, you say?! If I were a metric user, a decimeter would be my favorite unit of measurement. Mostly because you never hear about it, yet it would be wildly useful in day-to-day life.
I thought it was not doing much but boy was I wrong I think there is a bit much torque it would be cool if you made it so it can have speed but u can change it to have torque
Hi thanks for the comment! Yep it’s 25:1! There is an initial ratio of 5:1 (the 40 tooth gear is driven by an 8 tooth source and then followed by a further 5:1 ratio of the same layout. 5*5:1 =25:1! The additional 40 teeth gears were added to prevent slippage of the small 8 tooth. Great question though! Thanks for watching!
This looks so cool! Where did you test it? I haven't seen snow in a while since the UK doesn't get it often (plus I'm watching this in June so there wouldn't be snow anyway)
Yeah, this is pretty much the coolest Technic machine ever. Abso-freaking-lutely incredible!!!
Thanks! Really appreciate the support!
i'm a you subscriber, i really like yours 6x6 chassis

Wow, it’s crazy how the snow is ejected from the machine. Nice work 👏
Thanks for the support! The BuWizz motors are powerful little things! Especially when paired up!

とてもうまいですね。じょうてき🎉
Honestly the thing looked sick covered in snow
Epic video bro amazing work ❤ 😮
Thank you so much 😀
never clicked on a video so fast
Awesome! I’m glad you enjoyed it!
Love some snowblower content
beware, lego electronics are not waterproof

Well nah
Omg no one knew this absolutely not like 90 % of lego builders already know this
man this machine is crazy!!
Someone: How many frames do you need for your model?
@builditwithbricks: Yes.
Fantastic model and it works really well!!
Thanks! Appreciate the kind words!

Absolutely awesome. Your best yet, and that’s saying something!
through your video, i realised how a tank is built: 1. build a train, 2. wrap the track around the wheels
Nicely done! Keep it up!
Thanks a lot!
OMG HI SUNPROBRICKS
5:19 A part is missing from the right side of the machine.
Good spot! Maybe it adds to the realism of machines getting scratches and scrapes through use?!
Nice Work! I think most people underestimate how truly difficult snow can be.
Thanks! Means a lot!
This should become a lego set
Amazing!
6:03 OSTIA, QUE FUNCIONA Y TODO
It should be useful if they make it real machine to work as snow road cleaner
Who gonna tell bro
Sure, snow plows exist but I think the they meant like an automated system similar to car autopilot or a roomba

Exactly what i was thinking about. I would definitely worry about the electronics.

Absolutely amazing build. Could you imagine the cost of this if it were an actual Lego set?
Thanks for the comment! I’m glad you liked it!
I believe that this should become a real Lego set.
Wow 😮
So satisfying and useful
Glad you think so!
WOW it works so well, it is so fun to watch the snow get ejected!!!
Ah thanks! Yes I was pleased with this creation!

For your next build, I challenge you to build a functioning garbage truck
My mind was just blown. Excellent work!

This worked better than I thought it was going to. 👍
a tunel escavator to do a tunel in the snow?
Fabulous work
Thanks!
Would be fun for snow clearing in small spaces
Instead of a blower syatem, could you use some sort of side conveyor to unload it into a line of snow
Your inventions are always amazing
This is really cool

Amazing! Where you even begin to learn how to build something like this?
Thanks for the comment! I took at look at how commercial machines operated and went from there!
Great work. It is actually insane.
2:10 Sure about the 25:1 gear ratio? I would think it is 5*5*5*5:1 = 625:1

Really Cool Video I wish I had that many bricks and stuff
Next video: Building a aquarium fish tank outta legos
the tracs soundet like marching clones
Hey you should do that in Iowa but make the motor better because we get like a foot of snow in the winter and just come up here and do that
How has this guy not built a railgun yet. lol
If you open a bit more the flap on the top you will not have much snow accumulation...!
cool!
Hey, people, where can we buy bricks in 2024?
Hey, head over to Bricklink - a great marketplace!
Amazon
where can i get the buwizz motor you must have took a long time to make this

The funnel is really messy-it’s shooting everywhere
Beware: there are layers of technic surrounding the motors :)
Oops. My fault. There aren’t any.

What’s the speed of this tank -40 miles an hour what the fix the gear ratio turn it into a fucking sports car. I had more motors.
