From someone who aren’t from the British Isles, I find that British, Scottish, and Irish humor is so much cleverer, witty, and funnier than American humor. This show is a great example of that.
Of course the United States has great political satire shows like the Daily Show and Last Week Tonight (which is hosted by an English man), but for a small country like the UK to have so much good humor and so many hilarious and smart comedians is astounding!
I once had the pleasure of having a group dinner with some friends of a friend and one of them was a British comedian who had studied in Scotland, and it was the most hilarious and entertaining evening of my life!
If there is one thing the people of the isles should be proud of, it’s their comedy culture! And it just gets better the worse the politicians get! The real reason to read or watch British news (excluding Murdoch press) is so that as an outsider, you can understand the jokes! It was super hilarious during the Boris Johnson error!
But of course we all know that Germany is the true king of comedy 😂 Two peanuts vere valking down ze road… 😂

I’m not surprised some people like it, and if I am really bored I could see it as a junk throw away movie that I could somewhat enjoy watching as a one-off. I have definitely seen much worse movies that have high critical acclaim. But I have never personally understood how such a mundane movie is regularly regarded as one of the most, if not the most important movies of all time. I admit part of it might be that there was a novelty about it at the time that is lost to me because I didn’t see it in its time, kind of like many kids today don’t understand how amazing Star Wars was for its time and also how much Star Wars changed the entire industry and is even directly responsible for the creation of a lot of the technology that is used in films today. But I still think “the emperor hasn’t got any clothes” is BY FAR the best description I have ever heard in this particular case.

Ugh, so disappointing that Mel TRULY didn't comprehend what a waterphone is, AND, it wasn't filled w/water, which is what makes it work. SO disappointing.

I've seen an episode of Would I Lie to You? where Mel is embarrassed to stand up because of her trousers (she's wearing overalls with the top down so you cant see it when she sits). I hope at some point the dear lady starts keeping in mind when she's dressing that she may have/want to stand up!

@@Secretgeek2012 they are fine, but its standard for people on uk TV to be dressed somewhat formally. Its rare you see presenters or guests wearing jeans or overalls.
