Your explanation of value over time in the graph editor is actually perfect, a lot of animator are explaining it in terms of horizontal and verticallity of the graph (fast and slow) but never value over time.
2:04:13 Its indeed an amazing feature in Maya. Surprisingly blender has a workaround for this. In the graph editor window, go to Key menu > clean keyframes & clean channels. This will remove the repeated and closely placed keys along with channels that did change its value.

I started using Maya when I was in high school about 10 years ago and sadly the college I went to ended up dropping all their animation stuff. It's been a good 10 years or so since I last used Maya and have recently picked it back up again. I must say your videos really helped me out a lot. I have been doing lots of tutorials and working my way through textbooks I ordered online along with Udemy stuff. What else would you recommend for someone that wants to get back into it and make it a career?

I had a suggestion. could you do like a 3d animation in maya for like dress or skirt. I struggling with that like making the dress stick to character in animation 3d, if do can you consider it, thank you! currently I am a student in 3d modelling and animation and gonna go to 3rd semester, which makes me scared and nervous but I am excited. I am scared

Saw some of the features of Cascadeur does more than half of the animation and thought why will anyone learn animation now if ai's gonna do it. Your thoughts about ai entering into every nook and corners of the computer.. And how its going to affect animators?
I understand the concern and it makes sense because of how things are marketed, but people who’ve worked professionally on production knows how unrealistic full dependency on a tool like that is. Who are they hiring to use Cascadeur, it doesn’t do it by itself. And let’s be generous and say it “does” half the job (it doesn’t), who’s doing the other half? A great example is motion capture, people thought that’d eliminate animators years ago too, but it hasn’t and neither will todays tools, most of which are either just a repackage of physics simulation tools (Cascadeur) or just a search engine for motion capture libraries but calling it ai. I’m hiring a team of animators now and AI impacts that process by exactly zero.
Hi, this is a beginner animation course, Houdini is great for fx, but thousands of professional animators at studios across the world use Maya everyday and are not replaced by Houdini making a bouncing ball in one minute.
@@AnimatorsJourney it's not just for fx , you can do all other stuff that other 3d package offer , personally i do modeling texturing -> using new cop network animation -> using apex rigging simulation look dev rendering ...... by the way it have a best animation tool ( APEX )
