Heath was that kind of person too when he was alive, that's why they matched. Welp, in another universe maybe there's a episode Heath just eating spicy wings and talk about Jake and his daughter
Yeah but on the other side he gives me the impression that he feels very alone due to his life. Like he can’t just have casual conversation with people, can’t say or do anything because he’s a celebrity. That’s why he enjoys every moment like this.
Jake's Michelangelo anecdote was one of the greatest insights into building a career I've ever heard. What a fantastic interview, definitely one of the best ever.

Thank you John Stamos, Dave Grohl, Zac Efron, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, and Viola Davis, Alton Brown, and Kristen Bell
Sean has excellent social work skills; he’s like a therapist who masterfully knows how to react to the person’s words and body language, as well as understanding the moment 💯 As a master-level social worker, I truly appreciate that 😎
I love it when the people that are getting interviewed doesn´t advertise anything at the end of the episode! They are just happy to be there and enjoyed it. This interview actually made me like Jake more than I already do 😭
Over the last few years, my son and I would share episodes back and forth and send texts about our favorite guests on hot ones. We'd send pics to each other of new hot sauces we would find while out and about that we needed to try. He had a bad car wreck early last month and passed away 19 days later, just a couple weeks before his 22nd birthday. This is the first episode I've watched since and I felt a little sad and teared up a couple minutes in as I had the urge to grab my phone and text him to check out the episode. But by the end it brought a smile as I remember all the crazy conversations we had because of this show. Thanks guys. ❤️
My condolences, brother. I lost my dad a couple months ago. Remember you are strong and must carry on for your son! One step at a time. Please take care of yourself and find what gives you joy (like Hot Ones).
I’ve watched a lot of hot ones episodes, I mean maybe 90% of them and this is one of my favorites. The rollercoaster of emotion jake takes us on is so entertaining. Didn’t want this to end.
This was probably my favorite episode. Jake is so full of engery, so naturally charming and funny. It was like eating a hot meal with an old friend and not just an interview. He had great answers to the questions but also filled the show with improved and personality. Amazing.
It really was. I had this on in the background, but they just had such a good vibe I got pulled in, and found myself sitting still and watching till the end
Nicest thing about this episode is to see Jake in a setting other than promos or tv interviews. He's swearing, being goofy and just showing a range of expressions you usually never get to see! ♡
It's almost like Jake studies his surroundings and the people in it, and then adjusts his energy according to it all. Sean does something similar too. It's very interesting to see these two talk 😄
Jake has that unique sense of humor that seems to put people off. He’s just very self aware in his humor and you can’t really tell if he’s joking or not alot of the time and I dig it
Jake is one of those great actors that is so good at hiding. You pretty much never hear about him because he doesn’t cause a bunch of drama. I loved seeing him on here.
This has to be the most genuine show out there, amazing atmosphere, crew allowed to laugh, no one seems forced to do anything, everyone is genuinly enjoying this, thank you for 20 seasons of this Sean and Crew !
The thing I love about this show is the writers really come up with great questions. You can tell the guests feel refreshed answering them. Actors do a lot of press and they get a lot of the same boring questions.
I might be wrong but never hearing Sean ask a female actor how they work with kids or what kind of outfits they’ve worn has always been one of my favorite parts on top of the deep questions allowing all guests to talk about things they’re passionate about. Sean allowing them to talk and things not being chopped up.
His answer about the David sculpture next to the slaves sculpture as a metaphor for every artists journey might be one of the most simple yet perfectly stated expressions of a complex idea that I've ever heard. I feel like most artists start out chasing perfection and then slowly realize that the imperfections and personal interpretations are truly what elevates the art to that level of real human connection.
Honestly - one of the greatest hot ones episodes of all time. I'm so happy this show is still going. Thanks to Sean and the crew for sticking around :)
He’s always so down to earth I’ve never heard anything bad about him. He’s very good at keeping his personal life separate from his job. I respect that
I really wanted to list all of the movies I love Jake in, but then I realised I was literally just listing every single movie he's been in. Absolute legend
I think one of the things that gives these two such good chemistry is how observant they both are with each other, also the curiosity and intelligence of both of them. The wizard hands thing really cracked me up. 😂❤
This episode has to be in the one of the all time hits of this show. Jake is so tuned in and so smart, he's holding Sean and the episode by the neck and taking on a ride with him. And Sean is steering the show right back on track, it's just a great duel.
Usually guests are following Sean but this time it was push and pull . Jake kept Sean on his toes and that was one of the most entertaining episodes EVER
This might actually be the best interview I've ever seen. The research, the questions, the atmosphere were so incredibly well done and Jake's answers, honesty and vibes were unmatched. Thank you so much for this.
Sean is an incredible interviewer. Awesome mirroring skills, excellent eye contact and animation. You could really see Jake getting more and more comfortable. Sean and his team are also exceptional researchers and always blows guests away with well thought out and creative questions. Well done to everyone on the show. This is definitely my favorite episode so far. The dynamic was awesome! The structure of this entire show is fascinating…. Pain breeds vulnerability and as the show progresses, the questions get more and more in depth. Brilliant!!
I've watched most of these videos and there have been a lot of good ones, but I loved this one the most and wanted to come and make a comment about what i felt. Reading what you wrote, there's almost nothing left to add (except an 's' at the end of 'episode' ;-) ). Jake is a very talented actor and seems like a fun and intelligent human being and the chemistry between him and Sean is wonderful to watch and listen to. I'll be saving this episode to come back to from time to time.

I knew so little about Jake before seeing this, and I have to say, the man is awesome. His humour is just deadly, and he’s a reflective and thoughtful guy. Great combo. So interesting to see him want to immerse himself in the full experience just to test it out. No tiny bites, a full curiousness on limits approach I’m sure he also brings to his craft. What a cool dude.
Donnie Darko is incredible especially after watching the second time. Brothers is also noteworthy. Jake Gyllenhaal alongside Tobey Maguire makes for an intensely dramatic film… and of course Brokeback Mountain. Not only is it a very moving love story, but Jake really played Jack’s character with such feeling. For me, he’ll always take one of the top spots in the Best Actors Of All Time category.
It’s tough to enjoy the guests on a regular late night talk show after seeing them on Hot Ones. This will always be one of their best interviews by comparison.
The fact that so many of them genuinely enjoy his interviews so much more than the talkshows says so much too, he's a truly incredibly talented interviewer, he will go down in history
It's such a unique, strange and weirdly perfect concept. Like how are you going to not be genuine while your tongue is fighting for its life? And the questions are the icing on the cake.
For someone as talented and successful as Jake, he seems to have found a way to stay grounded and normal which is awesome bc he really is one of the best actors ever
Okay, seriously, this was the best interview you've made so far. Jake was so present and opened up about many of the things we encounter working in the movies. Also, it was just a blast all around. Thank you for a wonderful show. 20 seasons? Seriously? Amazing.
I always love the episodes where Sean gives the guest an opportunity to plug something and they're just like "I've not got anything going on, I'm just here for the experience."
You can tell how much Sean is enjoying this interview and for that reason this is one of my favorite hot ones episodes. It was like 2 old friends having a good time together, while daring each other to go one step further.
This is such a classic episode - not knowing the protocol and having to cautiously observe Sean's every action, the complimenting/being freaked out at the specificity and high quality of the research and questions, the euphoria, the pain and suffering, the developing relationship and appreciation of Sean - this episode had it all
Jake Gyllenhaal might be one of my favorite celebrities. When Sean says "fantastic movie" about Prisoners, the eye contact he makes, and genuine gratitude he has for a comment that he HAS to know 99% of people would make to him if it comes up...incredible display of humility.
These interviews just keep getting better, it's not just the guest eating the wings, it's Sean being right there with them, going on an epic journey of hotsauce. It's a bonding experience for those who let it be, I feel like we just watched Sean and Jake become good friends. Jake was amazing, he either was having the time of his life and is generally a super cool human being or he's an utter psychopath who deserves another Oscar for an incredible performance of a lifetime.
@BennyJames It exists because I wanted it to exist, I watched the video, it made me feel and think things, and I decided to share those feelings and thoughts. Is that okay with you?
This is 100% my favorite episode by far!!! The back and forth, Jake's awesome and entertaining personality, absolutely golden!!! Plus the commitment to the wings!!!!
i love that each guest is so impressed with sean's interview questions/skills, he absolutely should be recognized for his hard work and research and just overall creativity

The idea of him ever being on this show was somehow unimaginable before. I'm glad you brought him on, this was thoroughly enjoyable. Also, the Academy should be ashamed that this brilliant actor still doesn't have an Oscar!
I never appreciated Jake beyond his acting until now. In this interview you get to see him being attentive, funny, and energetic all wrapped around a magnetic personality. Well done 🍗
This was a hall of fame episode. Jake getting stronger as the wings got hotter was wild. He ate the whole wings from Da Bomb onwards that is some mental strength! And hearing the team laughing was a great touch really added to the atmosphere. Should have all guests team/friends audio!
Nightcrawler is one of my favorite movies of all time. Jake's performance raises the material to new heights. Every scene, his hungry, coyote-like nature drives him onwards, and watching him play that character is both impressive and deeply unsettling. Highly recommend that film.
Sean wasn't kidding, this episode was phenomenal. It was amazing seeing Jake get more comfortable as it went on and even going back in on Da Bomb just to have the full Hot Ones experience.
I've just realized why I love this show. The food and the company forces the guest to be totally themselves out of sheer survival. It's like two people floating in the middle of the ocean eating hot wings.
It consistently amazes me how Sean interviews some of the most accomplished people who do 1000s of interviews yet within a couple minutes has them completely open up and have a more natural conversation than you'll see in any other interview.
I’ve watched every episode of Hot Ones and this episode was phenomenal. By the end of it, I felt like I knew Jake better as a person and who he is. Impressed he took the experience like he did. Tells you a lot about his character. Relentless, resilient, enjoying every moment. Probably why he’s such an incredible actor too. He immerses himself into the role. I love how both Prisoners and Nightcrawler was brought up. Both movies in my Top 10 of all-time. Brilliant films.

He's the funniest. Just watch his press stuff/interviews with him and Ryan Reynolds or Tom Holland for example. He has the best comedic timing and dead pan comedy.
Yes! Almost humbling when they are so vulnerable when adhering to such adverse conditions. As humans, we must adapt and survive.
@@benjaminheld3874 his press tour with Tom Holland for Spider-Man was so funny. He has a great sense of humor.
it is always refreshing to see genuine kind, and gracious celebrities like Jake. Absolutely loved the interview.
He really is a gem.
You can tell that Jake just likes to make people laugh. Love that type of person.
Heath was that kind of person too when he was alive, that's why they matched. Welp, in another universe maybe there's a episode Heath just eating spicy wings and talk about Jake and his daughter
He seems pretty down to earth
Yeah but on the other side he gives me the impression that he feels very alone due to his life. Like he can’t just have casual conversation with people, can’t say or do anything because he’s a celebrity. That’s why he enjoys every moment like this.
@miriades being famous is very bittersweet but I'm sure most of them would keep their fame rather than have a normal life.
Spearmint Diced Nicotination
Absolutely one of the best episodes. And we're 20 seasons in. Also, hearing the crews laughter added so much more than you'd think
The ones laughing could've been some of Jake's posse too.
Jake's Michelangelo anecdote was one of the greatest insights into building a career I've ever heard. What a fantastic interview, definitely one of the best ever.
His self reflection was on point
I didn’t understand it at all

Agreed. It's going on my short list of favorites. What others did you really like? My list so far (i'm sort of skipping around watching the show for the first time.) anyone you think I might add? Thank you
John Stamos, Dave Grohl, Zac Efron, Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, and Viola Davis, Alton Brown, and Kristen Bell
@@mm6705Alton Brown is a classic
Sean has excellent social work skills; he’s like a therapist who masterfully knows how to react to the person’s words and body language, as well as understanding the moment 💯 As a master-level social worker, I truly appreciate that 😎
I love it when the people that are getting interviewed doesn´t advertise anything at the end of the episode! They are just happy to be there and enjoyed it. This interview actually made me like Jake more than I already do 😭
I mean, he's still there to promote his new movie which is mentioned at the beginning
I'm so sorry for your loss 🙏 I'm very glad to hear how meaningful Hot Ones was for your relationship and that it can still brighten your day 🙌
I’m so sorry for your loss. Sending you so much love and light.

He looks like he snorted a line of coke right before the camera turned on
I've watched over 90% as well and I wholeheartedly agree. This was an incredible video. 😂😂😂 I loved it so much
same!
Jake is an absolute goofball, he may not show it much but his smile says it all.
With Tom Holland, they were like the jokers in class
Jake seems like such a genuine human being. He does not come off as unapproachable at all.
This was probably my favorite episode. Jake is so full of engery, so naturally charming and funny. It was like eating a hot meal with an old friend and not just an interview. He had great answers to the questions but also filled the show with improved and personality. Amazing.
100%
“Honestly I have nothing going right now, I have no friends. Does anybody want to hang out?“ I swear this dude is so humble.
This one and Paul Rudd's interview are my top 2 favorites
I think my favorite too! I feel like he doubled down on the love/positivity when things got hot. This was a spiritual one for me 💕💐😊
This was one of the best episodes i've seen. Jake and Sean's energy through this was fantastic
It was awesome to see 2 Super heroes share one space
How did I prepare? With preparation h of course
I think we all do that in life to some degree. But it’s very cool to see it here. They both seem very aware.
nice pickup, its an amazing vibe. some, like this one it stands out as jaw dropping
... do you not do that? That describes me in 100% of my interactions with anyone, anyTHING even lol
I loved seeing him on here.
how about when he dated Taylor Swift lol

Would've never guessed Jake had such a fun, cool personality. Makes me appreciate him more as a person than just an actor.

Have you ever seen "Bubble Boy". He KILLED that role, and it really shows his sense of humor.
For the most part I agree, but Jake does have very chaotic energy
Exactly
This comment perplexed me. Do you only see his work and just NEVER watch an interview? Like serious question.
This has to be the most genuine show out there, amazing atmosphere, crew allowed to laugh, no one seems forced to do anything, everyone is genuinly enjoying this, thank you for 20 seasons of this Sean and Crew !
Well put.
Maybe the best episode of Hot Ones EVER.
Jake telling Sean he loves him then going in for a SECOND bite of DABOMB while clearly going through some pain was so amazing 🤣

Jake seems like such a wholesome, just deep philosophical person.
I absolutely love how we get to hear the team laugh and how they're not encouraged to keep quiet. It feels so genuine.
Always 👏🏻 Thats why I love this show for many years! Finally the guest is also wievers and fans of the show ☺️👏🏻
Favorite part: his heart started racing, he thought he'd die, he looked at the man who caused this... and professed his love. Beautiful.
Jake is so deep and intimate when he answers the questions, it literally felt like he was taking to me, like i was in the room. What a great actor!

Its so nice how Jake is constantly praising Sean as well

Sean is an incredible interviewer. Awesome mirroring skills, excellent eye contact and animation. You could really see Jake getting more and more comfortable. Sean and his team are also exceptional researchers and always blows guests away with well thought out and creative questions. Well done to everyone on the show. This is definitely my favorite episode so far. The dynamic was awesome! The structure of this entire show is fascinating…. Pain breeds vulnerability and as the show progresses, the questions get more and more in depth. Brilliant!!

This guy genuinely loves his craft and it shows not just through his movies but his actual personality.
Donnie Darko is incredible especially after watching the second time. Brothers is also noteworthy. Jake Gyllenhaal alongside Tobey Maguire makes for an intensely dramatic film… and of course

@@Parttimetravellingmanche's so incredibly versatile. Top tier actor.
Think because it's genuine. Plus when your mouth is on fire 🔥 the charade drops and it makes the guests show their true selves and its great.
This show has a lot of the same energy as Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show.
That's cause Sean asks meaningful questions. Talkshow hosts all ask the same cookie cutter thing
Jake is a legend. One of my favorite actors of all time and seems like such a good person.
Okay, seriously, this was the best interview you've made so far. Jake was so present and opened up about many of the things we encounter working in the movies. Also, it was just a blast all around. Thank you for a wonderful show. 20 seasons? Seriously? Amazing.
I haven't laughed so much in no other episode of hot ones!
I always love the episodes where Sean gives the guest an opportunity to plug something and they're just like "I've not got anything going on, I'm just here for the experience."
Jake was such a genuine and fun guest. So cool.
You can tell how much Sean is enjoying this interview and for that reason this is one of my favorite hot ones episodes. It was like 2 old friends having a good time together, while daring each other to go one step further.
The groan and head shakes when Sean realized Jake would eat the whole wing @26:50
That banter at the end proves he's super chill, also took those wings like a total champ
Jake is such a delight. "I have no friends, anyone want to hangout?"
Every person in the room: "YES! ME!!!"😂
This is such a classic episode - not knowing the protocol and having to cautiously observe Sean's every action, the complimenting/being freaked out at the specificity and high quality of the research and questions, the euphoria, the pain and suffering, the developing relationship and appreciation of Sean - this episode had it all
Jake Gyllenhaal might be one of my favorite celebrities.

After a little Hot Ones episode binge, this is my favorite so far. Can't explain it. The episode is just perfect
Yes! I watched it the other day and my fiancé were joking “he plays crazy too well I think he might be like this” 😂

Sean wasn't kidding, this episode was phenomenal. It was amazing seeing Jake get more comfortable as it went on and even going back in on Da Bomb just to have the full Hot Ones experience.
Yeah this was the best one in a while. They'd begun to get stale but this one was genuine.
I've just realized why I love this show. The food and the company forces the guest to be totally themselves out of sheer survival. It's like two people floating in the middle of the ocean eating hot wings.
Incredibly astute observation. Well done!

It consistently amazes me how Sean interviews some of the most accomplished people who do 1000s of interviews yet within a couple minutes has them completely open up and have a more natural conversation than you'll see in any other interview.
