I really hope you stick with this all the way through. Your initial experience his fun to watch. I own this on PS5 and PC, and now I have it installed on my XBOX ready to play again. There are only a handful of games I own on multiple platforms, Elden Ring, Skyrim, Fallout 3/4, Oblivion, Morrowind, and now Death Stranding, such a great game.
My God! You do not stop talking even for a second there. You do not listen to the dialog. You do not listen to the music being played. HOW IN THE HELL DO YOU WISH TO PLAY ANY GAME LIKE THIS? Jesus Christ!
This was a fun watch. I hope you keep going and finish the game! I loved watching you go in pretty blind and it looks like you had a fun time. I'll (hopefully) look forward to hearing your thoughts on Defining Duke or Summon Sign. Also, I'd never heard dan's name before but thought he may have been a new editor (confirmed at the end of the video), I thought he did an excellent job job with this video. Matty said he played for ~2 hours, the cuts seemed discreet and often completely missable. It was super entertaining and easy to follow, even with 75% being cut out. I'm most familiar with Matty from Defining Duke, and I've probably only watched ~10 of his videos over the years. That being said, I really enjoyed this format, and would be interested in watching more like this. Best, James
Im glad so many other people are getting to play this now. I finished it on ps4 back then, and again on ps5. This is such a bizarre, unique experience. It is peak Kojima. I think skillup did a great review.
I pre-ordered the game when it first came out. Played hours of it on stream. Over 9 hours in a single sitting once. Couldn't get enough. Can't wait for the second one.
I was intrigued seeing this pop up on xbox and thought about getting it. Thanks for your vid and review of it cause i feel the same about games this year and this one actually looked interesting
Death Stranding was such a strange and rewarding experience. Loved that game. People call it simply a walking simulator, and it is, but the walking is so dang rewarding. Every delivery presents unique obstacles and challenges to overcome with many different tools to try to accomplish them.
Good video Matty, I enjoyed it. Talking over that soundtrack has to be illegal somewhere though.. The music hits at just the right moments. Really sold me on the game when I first played it.

Played and beat Death Stranding on PS right before my first child was born. Made me feel a lot more "ready" in a weird way. Will always hold a very special place in my heart.
I played Death Stranding when it came out on PlayStation and loved it. I really love late game just driving a truck and delivering packages. I’ve gotten bored of the games I’ve been playing lately so I looked for it on Xbox(switched to Xbox for Starfield) a couple weeks ago and was super sad it wasn’t up there. So you can imagine my excitement when I saw it a week later! I’ve since beat the game and it’s just crazy seeing the things that have been added to the game. I don’t know if it’s directors cut or just things I did differently but there were a couple scenes that I didn’t recall seeing before. It really is a long movie you get to play. The graphics especially for the time are just stunning. I’m pumped for Death Stranding 2.
I am so glad you revisited this game. I had a feeling you would like it for the innovational concepts. Not-what-you-expected-from-a-game is right up your alley. I found this a refreshing change of pace. Plus I like to explore and this rewards you for exploring. Plus the music is the best in a game in 20 years if not the best ever.
I loved this back on the ps4 and I'm loving it on the Series X. The music hits differently this time, adds another layer of sadness almost, when I learned that Ryan Karazija of Low Roar passed away at age 40 a couple years ago...
You have to complete the first chapter in order to fully appreciate this game, you got stealth, combat, guns, bosses, construction, you have to rebuilt america's highways, it is a ton of fun, first chapter is mostly walking and climbing only.
The game gets much better as you unlock vehicles, build roads, can buy materials like ladders and ropes for getting through rough terrain. If you're playing the Directors Cut, they added even more ways of traveling which are fun to build and link together in order to cover huge swaths of the map very quickly
Death Stranding came out on my birthday, a couple months later after beating it I came to the realization that it had become my favorite video game of all time. Death Stranding is so…so…so special. I’m so happy that yet another community(Xbox) is now experiencing it, It’s so powerful that it has brought tears to my eyes, happiness man
This might be a Top 10 game of all time for me, I've beaten it multiple times on both console and PC, it's so damn good. Really glad more people are getting the chance to experience this weird, but wonderful game.
I've loved this game since day one. I'm really glad that the opinions surrounding it have become a lot more positive over the years. It's definitely not for everyone but it just has a way of sinking it's hooks into me that I can't explain. There's just nothing else like it. I got the platinum trophy on PS4, PS5 and now I'm working on all the achievements on Xbox lol.
LOL walked in the room after heating up my coffee and I hear, "...now I'm naked with a handcuff on and the baby disappeared..." I was like, "Jesus... Worse time I could have entered in the middle of a sentence". Really enjoyed this gameplay though.
I think it truly is one of the most unique experiences in gaming. Did it drag in spots? You bet. Did it feel like the last act went on forever? Yes. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say I was completely bought into the plot and really emotional by the last mission.
Finish it on PS4 at The Time, and having a Lot of fun playing it again. This Game really Is a "Walking Simulator". The athmosphere and The feeling of lonliness Is amazing. Keep on keeping on!
Matty I just bought it on Xbox and am blown away. Went in ready to be along for a very weird ride and I have been loving the worldbuilding, steady gadget progression, and the story. It's all so creative and gratifying. Built a road on my own and got thousands of player likes in the hour it took me to go out and buy groceries lol
It's amazing but I cant put my finger on why. So many different strands (no pun intended) that come together to make an amazing game. I didn't think I'd enjoy this at all but it has its claws firmly embedded into me.
Man, I love this game so much... I feel like it’s one of those where, if others say they like it, I completely understand. But at the same time, if they don’t, I can also see why.
I predict that 10 years from now, VR will be at the forefront of gaming, and we'll be able to revisit all the 3D games of the past in VR, no matter how old, with a realistic AI filter even. This will be one of the games we'll learn to appreciate more then.
Death stranding is genuinely one of the most powerful stories in gaming. A little confusing at first, but once it all comes together you realize just how good it is. And with what the world is like today, the story is even more impactful. Genuinely an amazing video game.
No disrespect but this is a game where I’d just shut up and play it and take it all in honestly. You going to try turn the music off was painful to see, just play it and let us know what you think after.
Matty: "It is not about the journey, it is about the destination".
Death stranding, literally about the journey, not the destination 😅
its not about the truth, its about winning the argument
That's why reviews don't meet the verdict of everyone and demos are so important.

Just subscribed...because i started playing yesterday, and you personified my exact reactions while playing the first few hours lol
I have no idea wtf I'm watching but it's interesting
This game is a masterpiece. Im replaying it on xbox beciase i never got play the director's cut.
People: Why isn't there more original content in this world?
Also People: What are all these new ideas and concepts this game expects me to learn wtf
Im glad its getting some love on xbox. Its one of my favourite games of all time.
Shout out to Dan the editor!!! ❤❤❤ Great video guys!
Best, James
I can’t believe you’re just now playing this game, but it makes for an awesome reaction video lol
15:50 Make America Whole Again
Im glad so many other people are getting to play this now. I finished it on ps4 back then, and again on ps5. This is such a bizarre, unique experience. It is peak Kojima. I think skillup did a great review.
I pre-ordered the game when it first came out. Played hours of it on stream. Over 9 hours in a single sitting once. Couldn't get enough. Can't wait for the second one.
I was intrigued seeing this pop up on xbox and thought about getting it. Thanks for your vid and review of it cause i feel the same about games this year and this one actually looked interesting
Well I thought the game was trash. I was wrong. It runs so good on SX, hooked with the story and the gameplay relaxes me.
Man talked a bit too much during this.
epic games gave me this game months ago i have yet to start it or even even seen any content on it but dam matty id totally watch you complete this game great vid keep up the great work btw
This was great! I loved watching you play what I think is the most unique (in a good way) game ever made. I want more!
How the tables have turned.
Glad you actually dove into Death Stranding.
"Walking simulator" minimizes the game so much.
Great video, it was fun to watch you do vids like these
I am so glad you revisited this game.
No it doesnt
First time watching a condensed Matty LP, now I know I need to subscribe on twitch (even though youtube is my preferred streaming platform to watch)
"I've been looking for a new AAA experience" Bro you are in for a real treat w/ Stalker
Death Stranding came out on my birthday, a couple months later after beating it I came to the realization that it had become my favorite video game of all time. Death Stranding is so…so…so special. I’m so happy that yet another community(Xbox) is now experiencing it, It’s so powerful that it has brought tears to my eyes, happiness man
If you look at the right BT at 12:06 it is actually kojima himself
This might be a Top 10 game of all time for me, I've beaten it multiple times on both console and PC, it's so damn good. Really glad more people are getting the chance to experience this weird, but wonderful game.
Matty, I am sorry. I am only about 8 minutes in so things could change, but you come off like such a hater in this like wtf
I hope you play some more! This game rocks
Can't wait to hear what you think of this game on the podcast Matty!
Finish it on PS4 at The Time, and having a Lot of fun playing it again. This Game really Is a "Walking Simulator".
The athmosphere and The feeling of lonliness Is amazing.
Keep on keeping on!
This is a GOATed video Matty. More of this please 👏🏻👏🏻
The timing of this video is crazy, just started playing a couple days ago.
I played back in 2019 on launch day. It actually changed my life.
Same feelings here. Just started recently for the first time and so far it’s way better than i expected
I missed the 'so I tried playing videos, cool to see a new one!
It's amazing but I cant put my finger on why. So many different strands (no pun intended) that come together to make an amazing game. I didn't think I'd enjoy this at all but it has its claws firmly embedded into me.
If it wasn´t for Stalker releasing in 3 days, I would be replaying this masterpiece right now. Absolutely love this game.
Man, I love this game so much...
I feel like it’s one of those where, if others say they like it, I completely understand. But at the same time, if they don’t, I can also see why.
This game is all I remember from COVID, truly a masterpiece! so so hyped for the sequel.
Why don't you just hate everything....more clicks. More hate. Lovely. Sickening.
Finally playing a decent game eh xbots
This game is boring and garbage rather play starfield lol at least the glitches and bugs give a good laugh lol
@ I feel sorry for you
