This pure protectionism. It is historically and currently the opposite of Hawaii. It has always been considered part of China. Hawaii was forcibly annexed from it's indigenous population for private entrepreneurs. Currently the Hawaii naval development has three to four times the floorplan let alone the sophistication of the facilities. Hainan island is within 10 Kms of the mainland of China and it is and always has been part of mainland territory. China is an imperialist dictatorship that stole lands like tibet & xianjing & wants to steal more territory.. it still has over 20 territorial disputes with all its neighbours, on land & sea: Taiwan, Philippines, Indonesia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, North Korea, Singapore, Brunei, India, Nepal, Bhutan, Laos, Mongolia, Myanmar, Tibet, Russia, Cambodia, South Korea.
China released a controversial new ten-dash line map that not only encompasses much of the South China Sea and Taiwan, but also disputed land territories with India and Russia.

East belongs to the East, that’s why we call it “East”.
Why does China expand its military capability? Ask the US for its huge military presence around China's coast and its hostile patrol close to China's major cities every day.
Clearly China has no choice but to expand its border defense as the US becomes more and more hostile due to China’s rapidly expanding technical prowess. Where is the invasion there when we all knew that Taiwan is a province of Mainland China?
Their writ doesn’t run there. And it has never belonged to China.
Hawaii was not before, is now and projects USA interests far into the Pacific well away from it's countries interests. Guam is similar. Indeed USA invasion of Philippines in 1898/9 is again another instance of real imperialist behaviour. @@zachb1706why don’t you use the full name of the republic of China?
@@honedreade4979 Why don't the list the number of years, months, days.. heck even hours that the CCP has held control over Taiwan?
Taiwan belongs to fujian!
@@zachb1706 That's a terrible analogy considering Taiwan is not recognized by US as an independent country.
Don't get me wrong, I love Taiwan and hopes it keeps its culture (which is rooted in real Chinese culture, not the communist culture today).
But you're also extremely naive to think that countries don't try to influence each other. What do you think US does behind closed doors to its "allies"? Do you think everyone wanted to join US on Iraq and other invasions?
And no, I'm not trying to claim any country is better than another. I'm just educated enough to understand difference between what politicians say vs the realities like geopolitics.
WSJ have quality news.
They don't just spam with clickbaits like CNN and Fox News.
WSJ works for a living.
I bet the WSJ won't do a hit piece on the US bases around the world.
I do not like the mainstream media but this is the kind of True Serious Thorough military journalism I do like!
Hainan is very beautiful, imma visit it soon.
Good luck with the smog
@@kng1122 not really. Ain't Beijing. Search on latest hainan travel vlogs by westerners you won't see anything like that. Hainan is basically a resort tourist island like guam. Almost no factories there.
Careful you don't end up becoming a political hostage
@@ShadowPhoenixMaximuswhen you swallow the fearmongering hook line and sinker 🙄
@@bennyraichu Fearmongering? Its a concern based on reality and hostage taking is a historic tactic used by the CCP. Repeated time and time again.
Does Japan pay for the US military bases in Okinawa and other Japanese cities?
Yes. They pay for food and fuel of all soldiers. Germany does the same. A US soldier driving around a gas guzzler (Mustang) in Germany just pulls up at a gas station and gives him a piece of paper. and gets free gas. Saw it with my own eyes. German and Japan are both US colonies, still.
good analysis. yes more of this please
If I want to barbeque in MY backyard and drink alcohol... it is none of your business.
Thank you.
So it’s petal harbor for China if petal harbor was 5 miles off the coast of mainland US
Yeah, pretty much. It is much closer to the Spratley islands than Pearl was to most of the key battlegrounds of World War II, though.
It's important to remember that the PLA had basically no navy at the close of the Chinese Civil War. They couldn't even take Kinman Island, so managing to secure Hainan was of inestimable strategic importance for them.
There is no need for a submarine close to the land to launch nuclear missiles. Numerous concealed launch pads can be used along the coast.
Please make video on How Israel killed 45 civilians in Rafah a so-called mistake
Mistakes happen in war? Who knew? If there was a video made and uploaded for every mistake in every war, the RUclips servers would crash.
The difference between forcing a country to join you vs a country asking to join you
Taiwan is one of the options, with more reasons being that China is now the world's second-largest economy and needs equal military capabilities to protect its trade routes! Chinese people know that without sufficient military power, no matter how strong your economy is, you will always be divided up by others. In Chinese history, the late Qing Dynasty was invaded by the Eight Nation Alliance due to insufficient technology and military strength.
FREE TAIWAN. XI IS A LOSER.
The opening to the mountain can only be compared to this special spot on the death star.
China has a lot of "boats" while the US Navy is a true blue water navy and has "ships". There is no comparison.
Very interesting. Thank You
US govt hates when crimea got taken by its original owner but owns island 5000km away from its borders, it illegally took
Everyone drones on and on about how China claims Taiwan as its own territory as if its a bad thing.......and yet those self same people are remarkably silent about the fact that Taiwan and its government make the exact same claim against the mainland, that it is in fact their territory and they are the legitimate government of all of China.
And I love the hypocracy of the US, I guess its all well and dandy for them to set navy bases around the world in which they can exert dominance but get their knickers in a royal twist when some other power, this time the PRC starting to do the same in their own back yard.
That claim has not been made for a long time. Read the history and you will see why both countries state they are the only legitimate government
Please show the secret agreement on Ream Naval Base in Cambodia.
Didn't know this. Thanks.
Consequences of CHINA Abandoning Resistance
Geopolitical Vulnerability: China would face increased external pressures and potential loss of control over key regions.
Economic Disruption: Inability to secure the South China Sea could jeopardize China's economic stability and global supply chains.
Diminished Influence: Reduced presence would allow other powers, particularly the US, to dominate the region.
Comparative Analysis: Afghanistan, Palestine, Iraq
Afghanistan: Prolonged conflict and foreign interventions have led to instability and economic hardship.
Palestine: Ongoing conflict has caused economic and humanitarian crises.
Iraq: Foreign invasions have resulted in long-term instability and challenges in nation-building.
Deep-Seated Reasons for US Pressure on China
Global Dominance: The US aims to maintain its hegemonic status, viewing China's rise as a threat.
Economic Competition: China’s growth challenges US economic interests and influence in global markets.
Strategic Alliances: Supporting regional allies helps the US maintain a balance of power against China.
Conclusion
China’s military enhancements and strategic expansions are crucial for protecting its sovereignty, economic interests, and regional influence. Abandoning these efforts could lead to vulnerabilities similar to those faced by Afghanistan, Palestine, and Iraq. The US actions are driven by a desire to maintain global dominance and economic supremacy, underscoring the complex dynamics of international power struggles.
